After some research, I found that with a current promotion, CubeSmart offered the best price. The prices are honest, no hidden fees or surprises. The facility is clean and well kept. Chad was my first contact with CubeSmart. He wasn't trying to push me into booking a storage unit like some of the other facilities I spoke with. He was very professional, personable and he just wanted to help. Chad excels at customer service, little details like remembering my name when we only met in person one time, and he didn't change from the first phone call to vacating the unit. I will definitely use this facility again if the need arises.

Although this site, did not have the unit that I needed. The customer service at the Mesa branch provided by Serea was an A+! She went over and above to help me find an alternative site by performing internet searches and following up with a phone call for a smooth handover. Five years ago I left a 5 star review for the facility at this location on McKellips. They have now changed from Storage West to Cube Smart. The answer to that review makes it appear that I was talking about Cube Smart when it was really Storage West that deserved the 5 star rating. This post serves to clarify that issue. Since Cube Smart took over, the rent shot up sky high! They want to blame it on the economy. I'm not buying that! They made some changes that don't sit well with me either, like tacking up "No Smoking" signs and locking the dumpster. These are the perks for my rent increase? My mobile home park rent also increased, but at least they keep the place like a resort and it's worth every penny to stay there. In my opinion Cube Smart "corporate" are money hungry price gougers and do not deserve my business any longer. The staff is still friendly and easy to work with, but the fees are out of control. Because of the price gouging, Cube Smart only deserves a 3 star rating at best.

My rent increased $25/month about every 3 months. They waived it a couple times but it still got way too expensive. Unfair pricing gouging practices. Staff are typically fine unless there's no one there and you have to wait or deal with a manager from another facility. No electricity, hardly any light after dark. My location was broken into twice, they didn't notify people promptly, doors were left unsecured for weeks. The gate is often left open overnight. Overall CubeSmart isn't so smart and is a horrible place to trust your belongings. Follow up in response to their response: Too late I'm gone and have zero interest helping you now. Shoulda been a better company and less greedy before I left.

I rented a unit (Mesa, AZ) and got the address wrong on the booking (my mistake), Cube tried to rebook, but no other location had what I needed or within the distance I needed. They cancelled and said I would get a refund. It's been 2 months, I have made calls to the local storage facility and the 800 number no one has ever responded or reached back out to me I have also emailed and gotten no response or resolution. My next step is to dispute the charge with my CC. I have since went with Extra Space Storage and they are a pleasure to work with.

Everything just went smoothly and any issues were dealt with promptly. Cubesmart even received the shipment of my items from overseas, which came as a relief as it wasn't clear to me when they were even going to arrive. So I wasn't, you know, going to 'hover' over the storage unit waiting! Anyhow, they even noticed an issue with the hasp which I didn't report right away (due to being about to move out and valuables having been moved out already). Smooth sailing.

I am thoroughly disappointed and disgusted with cubesmart. (formerly Storage West). I am a long time tenant. 15 plus years... A veteran. Always on time with payments. I have had countless rate increases since they took over and not just small increases. I go to pay my bill today now I owe 192.00? Are you kidding me? I'm paying almost 100.00 more a Month now than I was 13 Months ago. After my first increase, I spoke with Angelo Dimas, Manager at the time. He was apologetic but his hands were tied..(which by the way, I see he left his own experiences and feelings of Cubesmart as a review here). I then went and spoke with him in person when I returned to Az. He helped me out the best he could. Obviously his hands were tied. Thank you Angelo, but apparently money does matter more... These constant rate increases are ludicrous, ridiculous, and down right gouging. I will be writing to my congressmen and women and when I return to Az again, I will be vacating to another location. In the meantime, I too, like so many others, have no choice but to pay whatever rate they choose to charge on any given Month. It's a Cubesmart monopoly. I miss you Storage West.

I drove 17 minutes to get to the confirmation office that I decided to store with to find a note that said I could sign up at the office or I could sign up online but there was a sign on the door that said no one was in the office and I had to drive another 7 minutes to another office to fill out paperwork. I drove to the office to find a note that said no one would be available in the office until 1:30 it was noon. So I found a place to wait because I didn't want to use the fuel to drive back to my home. I went back to the office at 1:30 and found a woman who was looking like she didn't want to talk to me who then told me that her computer was down so she couldn't help me. So I drove back home 17 minutes and found another CubeSmart that was one mile away and I booked a unit with them to be told that I had to pay insurance on $120 a year for items in my storage that probably aren't worth $120. So I am not really happy with my experience but I have to have a place to store things that I have no room for where I am staying. I think in this instance the $29 administration fee should have been waived it wasn't.

So yes. Cubesmart is very corporate. It's all about money with this company and unfortunately they were nothing close to StorageWest. CubeSmart cares about their employees less than their tenants. The communication and training might as well be nothing. The people running the districts don't know anything the people running the facilities are dealing with and honestly it's not their fault it comes from the top to the bottom most of the time with no reference to the situation. Training might as well have been thrown into the fire if you were a former storagewest employee. The understanding was not their from cubesmart and they set people up for a sink or swim environment. Lots of playing dumb. As a former not by choice employee they DID raise the rent for lots of former storagewest tenants most by at least 100 bucks and when questioned was given an "oh well answer". Like I said they care less about the tenants than their own employees. They will tell you otherwise or you could take it by first hand experience. Rent at the mom and pop places. Less likely to be screwed with an oh well. They think everyone is replaceable. Oh and CB don't bother responding here you have my phone number. Good night.

This rating was almost zero stars!! I had a very little time to drop off some containers to my storage unit today....my code didn't work and the office had a closed sign on the door! I called customer service number completely expecting a time consuming run around. I was pleasantly surprised to speak with a representative (forgot his name) who verified my information and was able to get me through the gate in a matter of minutes. Not sure what's going on with the gate, but at least I was able to drop off what I needed to and be on my way.

I was a 5 star of this location until new ownership came in and jumped rates $100 a month!? I have been a customer for going on 3 years and if the plan is to actively push older units or to take advantage of newer people who are willing to pay more due to hardships... then I want nothing to do with CubeSmart as a company. I encourage you to help make the cultural change away from large companies buying out smaller operations and then sticking it to the average individual. Do not use CubeSmart.

We got locked out of our unit at 8pm on Xmas eve. The gates aren’t supposed to lock until 10pm, we JUST got a letter in the mail from them clearly stating the new gate hours. Our childrens Xmas gifts were in the storage unit. We called management twice and I sent an email. Still till this day I have yet to receive a phone call back from them. Needless to say, we have moved our stuff out and are no longer there. I’m highly disappointed in the poor customer service, I understand it was a holiday but to NEVER return the call. That’s unacceptable.

They are charging current renters twice as much as their price listed. I’m paying over 130 more then what they are renting my space size for. That’s not how you treat long time customers. Half of their customers have left because of this. They don’t offer any discounts. I’m a disabled combat veteran 100%disabled on a fixed income. They offer no veterans discount or senior discounts!! They wait till you move in and hike up your rates banking on the fact you can’t afford to move out so they milk ya till you can’t pay then take your stuff! Stay away!!!!!! Not a big fan of rent increases and CubeSmart has had 3 since they went on their big buying spree,a 100% increase and there's a "convenience fee" for everything except autopay. Interesting that all the storage facilities prices are so closely matched these days between companies. On the positive side of things now garbage can is locked, the new paint job looks good and the gate got an extra hour at night so got to love that.

I have had a great experience storing my excess belongings at this location for almost a year. The employees are friendly and work with you to set up a payment due date that best fits your schedule. Exceptional customer service. Very pleasant to do business with on the phone. I confirmed they DO have a truck you can borrow for free, up to 50 miles, and you don't have to pay for gas! Pricing was beyond my scope, about $40 to $75 for the smallest units, but if it weren't I'd go here in a heartbeat.

Price started at $150 per month but was increased every year. Two years later it was $190 per month. I called up (acting like a new customer) and asked for a quote on a unit of the same size I already had and was told they had one I could move into for $155 per month. They have low prices to get your stuff in the facility but raise the rent on you knowing it's a hassle for you to move your stuff. The manager was very nice and the facility was clean but after I learned of their mandatory rent raises I moved out. I would recommend you request a price guarantee from them for length of your rental.

I must say this is one of the best storage facilities i have used. The property manager is really nice and makes you feel like your belongings are in a safe place. I will recommend this place to everyone i know and if i need another storage i will come here first.
