But don’t despair. There are plenty of things to do in Houston and experience summer like a local. Here are five ideas for ways to spend your summer days in Houston.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Take A Houston Brewery <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Houston is home to more than 25 local breweries, which is great for beer lovers! Go behind-the-scenes and take a tour at a brewery if offered, or support their venues! Here are a few that might be of interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No Label Brewing Co. <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Folks out west love having a brewery in Katy situated in an old rice silo. Be sure to check out their calendar<\/a> to plan which day you want to visit. A tip from us \u2013 there is First Responders Thursdays with $3 pours! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Karbach Brewing Co. <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Purchased by Anheuser-Busch, Karbach plans to reopen to tours during specific hours of the week. Make sure to call to confirm with their COVID-19 policies. Closed toe shoes are required so be prepared for that! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

8th<\/sup> Wonder Brewery <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Although tours are closed right now, check out other events at 8th<\/sup> Wonder brewery<\/a> during Monday through Saturday 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. They have \u201cBeer To-Go\u201d available from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Buffalo Bayou Brewing Co.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This Heights area brewery offers hours from 11 a.m. to Midnight, seven days a week! They are safely spread out across three floors with full service and tents in the parking lot. The outdoor seating is also dog-friendly and you can sit with up to eight people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saint Arnold Brewing Co. <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Texas’ oldest craft brewery tours and gaming areas are cancelled right now, but their venue is still active! They\u2019re safely providing<\/a> outdoor seating, curbside pickup, and drive through \u201cBeer To-Go.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Be Cultured at Houston Shakespeare Festival<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Even though this is outdoors, who doesn’t want to see Shakespeare for free? Shakespeare in the park returns each summer to Miller Outdoor Theatre. This year, mark your calendars for Aug., 3<\/a> to 7. These classic Shakespeare plays and movies delight audiences young and old. One of many free Houston events, it’s a great way to introduce your family to Shakespeare! Head out early with a blanket and picnic and snag a spot on the hillside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
