Great place to store my items, with the great prices these guys offer for storage units. Also want to mention that the guys in the office are just right on! Friendly, welcoming, helpful, and very understanding guys. I can't say that about most other storage facilities that I have used in my past. Great job!

My unit burnt with all my life's belongings after being stored there for 5 years. Their electrical started the fire and no compensation has been offered. They are not very helpful with the insurance claim even though they require you to have this insurance to rent a unit there, max is $2,000 which is ridiculous since everything I owned burned. Just my coffee and end tables alone were $1,400 + Dinette and chairs were $800 that's already over $2000.. You think they would have more info than just a brochure for me they didn't even have claims forms available and like 50 or so units burned. Also, I was reviewing the rental contract that they gave for my ins claim while I was cleaning out my unit and all my information does not match what's on my online account - not my address, not my phone number, not even the price I paid per month and now I'm realizing they have been price gouging me the whole time! Why was I paying $240 a month for a 5x10? The contract they reprinted for me says the rate on that unit is only $105. WTF!!! Poor lighting outside and inside halls also no climate control. Awkward entrance gate and tight squeeze to get into different rows. No bathrooms available, not even a hand wash station for people sorting thru their charred belongings. There was a bald homeless lady in her pj's trying to get into the secondary gate that had a padlock on it. NOT RECOMMENDED!

Easy access to application on line that is so convenient. The one month free is very appreciated and the staff was very cordial and helpful with my questions. The monthly charges although I haven't yet compared them with an other storage location appear very reasonable to me so far.

So the facility wants me to post an opinion of their storage facility. OK - here goes. CUBESMART off greenback broke Citrus Heights and California State fire code laws and that is why the fire that ruined over 70 units - destroyed as much as it did. Before the fire broke out on May 22nd 2024 - The fire inspection showed that the fire alarms for the building had been turned off and the facility manager didn't even know the fire had broke out until it was too late. So how long had the fire been burning when the manager was told by a passing pedestrian- who knows??. BUT the facts are that the disarming of the facilities Fire Alarms was a breach if contract for each person who had items there and a brech of City and Couty Fire Codes. This is why so many peoples items were destroyed and ruined. Including mine. So there's your review.

My friend is a blind veteran who is also physically disabled. I’ve been helping him move out of the three units he rented after several price increases. About 2 months ago, one of his units had been pried open and had a mattress shoved into it. We noticed a strong odor of gasoline in the hallway leading to the unit. He informed the manager that someone was storing gasoline, and was told they would look into it… Today we went to move the stuff from his one remaining unit there to a different facility. We met the moving guy we hired there. Imagine our surprise when a security guard told us we could not access the unit because there had been a massive FIRE at the facility. His storage unit was in the building that burned. My friend was not even informed that his unit was impacted. He has no idea if he has anything left to move to the other storage facility. This place is the worst. Be smart and choose any other storage facility with your items!

Do not rent units here. The people employed here will break into your unit and steal everything you have. The “general manager, Bryan” withholds information found on cameras because him and others steal from units. Disgusting place. Police are involved, and court case has been started.

All around my experience here has been fantastic. Every time I've needed to change my payment method or change my phone number, they've been very helpful. I wish I would have known about the mice or rat infestation looking closely at the unit I found the floor inside the unit with rodent poop all over the floor now I’m having to jump into action with chemical deterrent to protect my property, thank you CubeSmart for such a fabulous deal. 11/13/23-My items were stolen from the Greenback Citrus Heights CA location. Their doors are not secure, and you can see where the thieves pry on them bending the door jam outwards. The doors are flimsy, and they don't even have cameras in the aisle of the units hallways. How can someone access a unit that is in a gated facility, behind two sets of locked doors, and go unnoticed? Not to mention the facilities door to the hallway wasn't broken into, just my small unit in a hallway of about 20 -30 units. This seems very SUSPICIOUS! Especially, now that I have read several more reviews stating the same thing. When this facility has a very large sign, "Stating 24-hour Security," You might as well put your items on the sidewalk in front of your house, and save your $$. I am very unhappy about this location.

I had several conversations on the phone with Ben and then with Sheldon. I filled out an online application to rent a storage unit and then l had some questions. Sheldon suggested l drive to the CubeSmart facility where he & Ben work so they could help me with the application. Both Ben & Sheldon took are of my questions and problems in a very professional, courteous and caring way. Ben printed out my completed application for me and told me l would also receive it in an email which happened very quickly. Sheldon showed me 2 different kinds of locks for my new unit and then he walked to my unit & put my lock on the unit himself. I am very pleased with the high quality of service l received.

We had our unit for only 6 weeks and came back to a rat problem. Urine soaked mattress and chewed up appliances. We are only lucky that we paid for insurance, which we are going through the process of filing claims at the moment. Poor security. No cameras no alarm. My storage unit got robbed 2 times in one month. I had cylinder pad locks and because the poor quality of the latch (brand new) the individuals gaining access to the unit by cutting the latch open. So no matter how good are your padlocks they will break in any time they want. I am out. UPDATE: I am just waiting for the disingenuous automatic reply from the corporate office after my review. Wait for it, wait for it..., wait for it! there you go (read below). They have no intention to up the security of this place. At least not after the two storage break-ins. Nothing has changed!

Storing your stuff at Cubesmart is worse than storing it on a backyard patio. I would have been better off had I done that instead of wasting thousands of dollars just to provide cherished valuable property for rats to eat and use for a toilet. Anything I had of value is a complete loss.

These are hard times and storage isn't really the first thing on the list to pay. If you are 1 month over due, let's say you every month at the same time and you needed to skip a month and weren't diligent about being on time to the day? Like say you got the money to pay the storage on the 15th, so you can pay your one month overdue and pay the current month. You will be stuck if that's all the money you have because they will charge you up the B. Not worth it.. This is not Xfinity or a Utility bill CubeSmart they will straight up put a lein on your unit and auction it off unless you pay the storage and all the expensive fees. Plus they raise the price every year, I have been customer for 4-5 years when I first rented the 10x10 unit the price was $130 per month and now it is just over $200. No not happy at all. The employees are nice but the company will not budge when it comes to being more than a month late. I mean paying on the 1

You can store your stuff here, or you can store it in a bush.... Ones free, and ones a safe place for your belongings... Unfortunately both of those places are the same... Take the bushes, otherwise you may never see your stuff again. And dont leave it unlock after you move out because if some throws some trash in your empty unit, they'll save it and charge you every month for the next year or more. Even if you tell them repeatedly you no longer have a unit.... But choice is yours.

My storage was broken into, and I found out when I went to unlock my storage and the lock was different. CubeSmart decided to put a new lock on mine and never notified me. Sounds like an inside job.

Marlo and Rick at the Cubesmart in Citrus Heights CA are AMAZING!!!!! We moved from Santa Rosa to Citrus Heights, a 3 hour away move and ran into so many obstacles. We were so frazzled when we got to Cubesmart. Marlo and Rick really helped us out.

This place is fantastic. Marlo and Rick from the staff were incredibly helpful. After a three-and-a-half-hour trip to CubeSmart, I realized I had left my key behind. They not only opened my unit but also assisted in getting a new lock. They even offered me water. When I found out I had rented a unit that was too small, they promptly accommodated me with a size that better suited my needs. I highly recommend anyone to use CubeSmart on Greenback Lane.

I placed my storage reservation online, which was simple. Once I got to the store, the manager Jason was very friendly and helpful. I needed a bigger unit and Jason was great at finding one for me and also a great discount. The service is very sufficiently ran.

I got my first storage unit several months ago with Hunter. I have had many obstacles with my move and needed additional units. I usually had the privilege of talking with Hunter. He was able to accommodate my every need and has been such a pleasure working with him. Any question I have, he knows exactly what to do or not to do. I view him as an asset to Cubesmart!!!! He is knowledgeable, courteous and made my experience so much easier!!!! I will recommend Cubesmart Citrus Heights because of Hunter!!!

Great place to leave your stuff if you want it stolen. My ex wife's elderly parents stored their belongings there and when we went back to clean the storage out we found out someone broke through the back wall and stole a bunch of their stuff. It had to have happened months ago because of dust that built up all over the stuff they ripped apart and no one even knew it had happened. Sad to think these lowlife thieves can gain access to your stuff undetected, the items were left there for safe keeping and this happens.

Not thrilled with my experience so far. When I went to pay for the unit and secure it, the price was higher than the advertised online price. One of the employees had told me she could get me further discounts, but when it came time that I needed the unit and had to pay, that was not the case. I also bought their padlock, which the dude opened from the package and put the key in as though he was testing it before he gave it to me. It wasn't until we had unloaded a semi truck of stuff, sorted it all, and loaded up vehicles, and unloaded the first load into the storage unit before I realized that the dude did not infact turn the key, and the padlock did not work. It was close to close, with no time to go buy one and no one on site at that hour, We ended up leaving our stuff unsecured for the night and reloading the rest of our stuff back onto the semi truck only to unload it again the next day. Like I said, not thrilled with my experience so far. We'll see....

Mayra was awesome! Total 5 star service - she made sure I got the best unit that would meet our needs, showed me the two units I was interested in, and she was very clear about the process and what to expect. I can sum it up in one word Horrible, untrustworthy, rude . All are different 1 word sayings that sum up this cube smart . Keep a copy of your online reservation(less expensive and month free) otherwise they conviently won't see it online. When you get you first receipt and contract, make sure it states online reservation and all discounts otherwise you will be charged a different price. If late more than 15 days for any unforseen reason expect to pay a $ 100 inventory fee, a letter to let you know your late fee, late fee, and a service charge for there work. Lol like they actually inventory it. They only open it to see what you have so they can take What they want .They will pick and choose who's rent they want to raise and how much. Would not recommend renting from them They look like a great deal ,but lol NOT once they add this charge ,that charge ........Insurance.....not an option you have to buy it . Should be optional

Started out ok, then it got worse fast. Had auto payment set up, fraud prevention from my bank stopped the payment, since I was out of town and it was showing card usage in two locations at the same time, not a problem, got a phone call from the manager a few days later, had to go in, system would not let me use the same card that was set up for auto pay, used another card, problem fixed. Then, rate increase without notice. Then a month later again attempted to charge card, my bank says no attempts were made, no phone call, no e-mail, no text message, why do they have all of this contact information if they do not use it? So the (assistant manager?) Jason, doesn't look at the account, doesn't do anything except file a lien notice which gets mailed to me. I am not sure what the problem with follow through is at this location, but a rate over 30 dollars higher than an indoor, climate controlled facility? So, needless to say this will be my last payment to them, and I will be moving out next week. The rates are market driven, is what I was told, well the market does not seem to be an increase without notice, and apparently I can do better elsewhere. I will not rent here, or at CubeSmart ever again.
