Had to get in on a sun when office closed. System for getting me in by phone was smooth and the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Very surprised to see great customer service in this day and era…reminded me of my earlier life when it was common. Office called on Monday to make sure my needs were met…also good customer care. Unit is climate controlled and great.

This cubesmart location was very accommodating. Even when I had movers come drop off my things, they came in a large trailer, so the staff opened a gate that would allow for easier access. Everything about using the storage was seamless and I appreciate how easy and simple they made everything for me. I will definitely use this storage for future moves!

I have had my storage at CubeSmart on Montiel Road in Escondido,CA since November, 2021. The facility is very clean, safe and very secure. Krista who works in the office and everywhere is so refreshing, she is very kind, patient, extremely efficient and above all goes way beyond the millionth mile to help. I was moving my things out to my home and realized at the last minute there wasn’t enough room. Krista quickly found a smaller unit that was available in the same building - so it was an easy transfer. I definitely recommend CubeSmart on Montiel Rd. In Escondido, CA.

I rented a 100 sq.ft. storage unit for a year at the Escondido CubeSmart on Montiel Rd. This storage campus is safe, well-maintained and the building, where my unit was located, was always clean.The manager, Christa, and other office staff provided great customer service- very professional and efficient.This location has a small moving truck for rent, which was an extra perk for me. Every storage I have ever used would only charge you for the days you use the facility, not this place. If you move out of the unit mid month they will not return your money so whatever day you move in, plan to move out the same day so you don’t get ripped off like I did!

Place is clean, painted, looks nice. I had my unit broken into and about $10,000 worth of tools, equipment stolen. The facility told me they saw nothing on their surveillance video. Things stolen were large needing two people to move them and a truck to carry the large cabinets away. My guess is it's an inside job, or they have no surveillance video. There are no less than 3 cameras close to my unit and no footage at all? Something is wrong with that. I would never use CubeSmart, I believe they lied to me about security from the beginning or it's an inside job. they get one star for being a clean facility.

Honestly, the people are what makes the difference. Krista and Jim at the San Marcos/Escondido location worked with me from day one to ensure that my storage experience was a good one. Let's face it...nobody likes to rent a storage unit. It's expensive and is giant hassle to pack and box stuff up and move it. It's admitting defeat that you have stuff that you can't part with, but that has (in some way) become a burden to you. Jim and Krista made the experience as good as it could be.

Storage unit was robbed within 2 days of getting it. The staff also misinformed us on stored item restrictions, perhaps on purpose. Lot of valuables gone and the Police could not investigate further due to limited informaton. The facility barely has any cameras and they are all placed in general areas that monitor the road within the facility but not the units themselves. How convenient. Better off hiding your things behind a Walmart than storing it here. Definitely do not recommend Cube Smart!

Now after a new 5-star local manager is serving the things are much better then recently and the facility customer service is not only about promises. I was decided to leave all my cubes. The new manager helped to solve my recent problems so I left only one of my three cubes there because of increasing of rent. Be prepared that after your contract is signed a "loyal customer" increase of price will come soon. For now I am giving 5 stars to 1531 Montiel Rd, Escondido CubeSmart facility and I am giving 0 stars to CubeSmart general customer service and marketing policy when I needed to solve my recent problems. Thats 3 star average from me.

Fast and Easy. My wife called in a week before we could make it down to the location to check out the unit they had available. They held the unit we wanted with no deposit, just a verbal approval we were interested. Made it down to do a quick inspection and set up. Wendy was most helpful and was very patient with us. This is our first time needing a storage unit that will have all our personal belongings. It's safe to say after we checked this storage facility out, we have nothing but confidence in our items being secure here. Thank you!

I walked into the place and there were 2 people ahead of me. Wendie quickly acknowledged me. I didn't mind waiting because it was obvious she was all alone. Eventhough she didn't have any help, she was still polite kind informative and very helpful. She answered all of my questions thoroughly. I'm a manager at a major grocery store in the area, and I only wish I could find genuine people like her. You just don't find people as gracious and patient as she was. A true treasure.

It would be such a better storage place if they would clean the hallway floors routinely... Also have better lighting near the storage units since the unit s have NO lights at all inside them.. I have been a long time client of CubeSmart, even before it was CubeSmart. I am very pleased with my most recent transfer within the facility. I had to wait a bit due to how popular the units are at this location, but management put me on a waiting list and contacted me as soon as a unit became available. This is the first time I have been on the second floor. The freight elevators are spacious and it was easy to transfer my storage. The only advice I would give is that if you have specific measurements you are trying to fill, make sure to see the unit so you can measure out from wall to the door. If you are using storage racks this can make a difference. Why still 5 stars when I am giving advice, because hands down this storage facility remains the best I have found and the managers make an effort to keep the facility running well and serving the needs of their customers. I would easily recommend storing here.

I have been using CubeSmart for almost a decade and have never had a reason to leave. You always think the grass might be greener at another location, but the staff and facilities of CubeSmart have always kept me here. Dante helped me out with moving from my current 10X10 to a 10X20, making the process simple and quick. The staff's attention to detail and helping customers with their needs has always been the best example of customer service. As for facilities, they are always clean with carts provided for your convenience. I continue to remain impressed with CubeSmart and its service, which is why I stay. -------------------- Another update (2021.01) - had to switch to another unit and it was easily done with the help of Erica. I have been here for many years and every time I think it might move for some reason, I realize this is a great facility and I continue to be impressed. Highly recommend.

Been storing my belongings for five years and just recently got a second unit. Nicole and Elise are super awesome and help out till your satisfied. They are very friendly and funny. They bend over backwards to help me. I have a bad back and they brought me a cart. Overall super clean and we'll maintained. You will not find a cleaner facility.

Very friendly staff, easy to work with. The downsides are cost and access. I moved out here from IA a couple years ago, and storage units here are far and away more expensive (back home I had a 10x30 for $100/month) I am also used to 24 hr access, which CubeSmart (and others I suppose) do not have. One BIG issue with CubeSmart is that if you are inside after hours, the gate will not open to let you out. Then what?

After relentlessly searching for a storage I ended up moved my stuff for 7 months at this location due to the warm welcome. The customer service team are very professional, courteous, family oriented, positive, caring, problem solving, and I could go on far days. Furthermore, I have a extremely positive business relation with all the members at this location. Warning! Do NOT store your items here!! It has the one star because I needed to give it something to be able to post- but Cube Smart deserves negative stars! So here is my appalling story that I am sharing so others don't have this happen to them. I relocated into central San Diego from North County for about 6 months, and in doing so I needed to put stuff in storage as I did not have as much space at my new place. Well, I hardly ever went to my storage unit during this time, but when I finally did earlier this month when I moved back to North County, I discovered that the lock they have you buy for the "best security" had been replaced with a different lock as my key thing no longer worked, and when I did get my storage unit opened it was a complete disaster. Everything had been rummaged through and so, so much of my stuff had been stolen. I can't begin to explain how violated and disturbed I am by this. And the workers there (who are obviously the ones behind this) just tell me that they have no idea how this could ever happen, and they are sorry, blah, blah, blah- it is just disgusting! I had to have the cops come and file a report- and apparently this is something that happens at storage places which I was completely unaware of. And they tell you that they have cameras so you think your stuff will be safe, but come to find out that they don't have cameras Inside, only outside... what, are you kidding me?!? Thanks for lying to me and falsely advertising security at your company! So basically it was determined that they realized I didn't visit my storage unit and they put a new lock on it so they could just have a free for all and take whatever they pleased when they wanted to. Whatever you do- DO NOT use this storage place, and if you already do- please take your stuff somewhere else. This place needs to go out of business; I can't believe there are people out there who do this- it is so disconcerting. These people even took a lot of my personal items which I can not replace and honestly have no idea why someone would take... stealing items to resale or whatever I somewhat understand happening given the awful people thieves are; and I can replace that stuff in time, but why on earth take my personal items? They are just horrible, sickening people there who completely took advantage of me and my situation. I could go on and on, but please be aware of the crime that goes on here, spread the word to everyone you know, and help get this absolutely terrible place out of business!!!

At first i had a very very High opinion of CubeSmart while i was not customer of theres. When became one of there customers i found out the truth about them. I had been dealing with CubeSmart for 2 years on and off, pay different people storage bills many times for 1 reason or another. The other day i rented one of there storage units and in less than 24 hours i had received a eviction notice for some thing i really had no knolage of what to do because of CubeSmarts lack of communications and what to do if i got locked in after the gate closed at 10 pm. I had been in my storage getting ready for me to move in the next day. As a result of me getting to the gate 15 minutes late and being locked in for the night and haveing no knolage of what to do if i got locked in, and after i had looked all over for a emergency phone number to call for help so i could go home that night, I finally realized that i was stuck there till morning I decided that it would best to just stay in my van untill morning and talk to the office in the morning when they open up. Later on that morning while i was loading up my stuff in a moveing truck i recived a phone call from some one in the office of CubeSmart telling me that i had been evicted because of me being locked in the compound on accident the night before. I went to office wright away to find out why i was evicted for a honist mistake by me. I told them what had happened the night before and not being able to find any kind of emergency way out. I informed the office that i had not been properly told what to do if i got locked in and telling them it was done on purpose at all I was still told that i was evicted any way. I colmly agreed to leave on good terms with CubeSmart and i was told that CubeSmart would be refunded all my money for the storage the day before minus the admin fee and CubeSmart would have the refund put back on my credit card. That was over a week ago and the refund still has not been put back on card. Especially when i was told it would be on my card in not more than 3 days. I truley belive that i had properly told what to do that night and if they would given me a courteous notice that they were about to lock up for they the night like every other of the storsges i have worked with in the past ,i belive that i would still be with CubeSmart. And if they would give me a second chance to stay there. I would still be there. Thank you very much for your time John s Hutchison.

This is by far the best self-storage facility I've ever used in my entire life... no exaggeration. From the staff and customer service to the cleanliness and security of the units, everything here is topnotch. Every single time I've called or come in, anyone who's helped me has been extremely friendly and helpful...which is rare for most places. The prices are more than fair especially considering the type of service you'll receive, plus they frequently offer deals online so you can get the first month free or half off. Furthermore, they have a moving truck for customers to use and it's a lot cheaper than renting from u-haul or other companies. Christian is AMAZING at his job and is usually the one who helps me yet never fails to exceed my expectations. He always greets me with a smile and is a genuine, caring person who goes above and beyond to accommodate customers. I swear I think he's some sort of superhero and he deserves a promotion or raise to say the least lol THANK YOU to the entire CubeSmart team for making my move stress free and enjoyable. I truly appreciate it :)

Michael actually signed us in on that actual move-in day and was more than helpful in getting us set up. We were given a different unit from the first one we were shown but without a problem, they changed us to the one we first saw. No problem!! Great staff, really clean facility. BEWARE! NO cameras monitor the halls! A thief picked the disk lock they sold me and stole $2k of stuff plus irreplaceable family paintings. BEWARE! The insurance you are forced to buy does not cover anything if your lock is picked so there is no damage to prove "forced entry"!

My sister and I have shared space at CubeSmart for 2+ years. We have found the staff to be very helpful. When we need extra space on a short-term basis, they try very hard to get us something convenient and close. Greatly appreciated. The location is marvelous--close to both I-15 and SR78--so very accessible. Compared to our previous locations, CubeSmart is a 100% upgrade.
