Farrah, the manager at Cubesmart on World Trade Dr., is professional, responsible and extremely helpful. I’ve been with this storage site for over twenty years and seen ownership change hands and, therefore, managers come and go. So far, Farrah stands out as exceptional. One afternoon, I went into her office to pay for the month’s rental and mentioned to her what I thought was unusual about my rent situation. She was appreciative of my concerns and promised to look into it. Less than two hours later, I got a phone call from her, and, you guess it, she’d had it solved. If you have any issue related to the storage site, be sure to let her know. Chances are very good that she’ll find an answer for you before you know it. Oh did I mention that she actually does her rounds late at night? Cubesmart should feel fortunate to have found such a fine manager as Farah for the site.

The storage space itself is fine. The issues I have are with the business itself. 1. I was required to purchase a lock from CubeSmart for "security". This disc-shaped lock is designed to be difficult to cut, which is fine, but the door it is securing is a thin hollow-core door that is easily broken into, rendering a "secure" lock useless. 2. I was required to purchase insurance on the unit. The CubeSmart employee told me it was not optional. I noted in the pricing breakdown that the insurance costs $12/month, and of that $12.00, $1.75 goes to the insurance company and $10.25 goes to CubeSmart for "administration".

Getting a storage unit at CubeSmart has been the best experience I have ever had with a storage facility. I was able to do everything online and I received instructions via email, my gate code, unit number, and everything I needed to access my unit. The lock, additional information, and a welcome packet were waiting inside my unit when I arrived at the facility. The property was immaculate, the security was high, and the unit was fairly priced and hassle free. I cannot say enough about this experience. Highly recommend! (P.S. I was NOT paid to write this review - this is actually how I feel about this company!)

During 2022, I was attacked by a dog off leash in the poway area, causing me to close my two offices and walk away from my home in poway. I came to cubesmart, and they were very kind and walked through finding the right size unit to house my home and office items. After being at the location, I'm able to get back into a home. Very clean facility. The only issue I had with this particular storage company was the quarterly price increases. When you sit down and do the contract you are notified that there may/could be price increases to help with maintenance costs and upkeep, little did I know that there would be an almost $100 increase every 3 months. I would have terminated sooner had I not been deployed for 7 months (they do offer military discount, but you have to get their insurance which evens out anyway). Good for very short-term, online booking is cheaper but definitely not a long-term option unless you like forking over your hard earned money. For context, I rented a 10x20 (if I remember correctly) via the online application, monthly price was around $270. Three months later it was increased to I believe $390, then another 3 months to $461. Hopefully this helps anyone considering renting a “cube” from this place.

I rented a space online on a Sunday. I went to the unit and it's an old door style that swings open. The only problem is it was stuck and could not even open. No one was there to help. I called the very next morning and told the manager the situation and said that unit would not work for me. She said she would reverse the charges. 10 days later and I'm STILL waiting on that! Never in my life has it taken this long for a reversed charge! And NEVER will I trust this company in the future!

I highly recommend Storage West Carmel Mountain. The facility and each unit is clean and secure. It’s also a great value. They have a truck for you to use upon move-in that’s 100% free (even gas), which is so helpful. The staff went out of their way to help me, even as I was moving out. I found a new apartment and didn’t need the extra storage space anymore, but I would definitely rent a unit from here again. The manager did me a solid favor as I was moving out, when she definitely did not need to, I mean I was leaving my storage unit. That treatment even as I wasn’t going to be a paying customer anymore spoke volumes about their service. 10/10 recommend.

I've been with storge west about 3 years now. Since before Phil left. They've always been helpful and kind to me. I'd recommend them to anyone in the area looking for storage space. The facility itself is clean, quiet, well maintained. I deserves to be said that Amy Carmichael is especially courteous and always helpful when I have any issue or question.

I just rented my unit a couple days ago and the staff, Greg & Aimee, have been super friendly & helpful and have provided great customer service.

This is a wonderful storage facility, Aimee is a pleasure to deal with and the units are a good size. I lost the key to the lock and she was very helpful.

My husband and I have been renting a storage unit here for over a year. The staff is friendly, professional and they aim to please. We especially appreciate how they keep the place clean and tidy. Phil is very hardworking; he's knowledgeable about all aspects of running a storage facility including both the office and maintenance. Storage West has convenient hours and is located in a safe, secure area. Also, it's close to Costco. We stock up on non-perishable items and store them in our unit because our tiny apartment is short on space.
