My travel trailer was stolen from this storage in December 2024. The store manager told me, that there were a couple of other RVs/trailers stolen at the same time. And they couldn’t provide the camera data, as they keep it only for one month. CubeSmart removes any liability for theft in their contract. And they have an interesting habit of considerably increasing rent every couple of months.

Place is horrible would not rent from them, there black mold on all of my items and not to mention my unit was broken into and I’m being told the insurance your forced to purchase won’t cover it because there’s not enough evidence of forced entry, come to find out the guy who stole my stuff is hoarding it all in the same unit the police are involved and still no one will do anything.

My unit wasn’t actually ready and had someone else’s stuff in it. So even after doing everything online and being told my unit was able to move in, I couldn’t and wasted a trip all the way up there. However, the customer service was good and the staff was nice. And the app works great. But initial issue wasn’t a great first impression.

Rent here if you want your unit broken into a few times along with dead rats/feces in your things, every sq ft of this place hasn’t been cleaned in over a year, randomly finding my account canceled after I paid in advance, don’t forget the rent increase with absolutely no benefit!

Had a good overall experience with Cube Smart. Be careful with Auto Pay, I was moved out 2 weeks prior to the start date of my next term but was automatically deducted for the next term and manager refused to refund me. Was only refunded when I submitted a negative review for that location and other customer service people stepped in.

The rental, and whole process could not be easier! Maybe 15 max if you’re easily distracted. This location is so convenient off the freeway, the hours and rates/ incentives comparable to the market- CubeSmart has my full loyalty. The customer service has been excellent approachable, so helpful.

Customer service is great in person, as a customer I would look out for a couple things for next time. CubeSmart wouldn’t honor the 1/2 off first month as a returning customers and the advertised 50% off was not honored when speaking to the front desk attendant he didn’t know why the website had 50% so he could only offer 40%. That to me was a bit irritating but again something to look out for as a new customer if you choose to be. Other than that the units are pretty standard, they don’t clean up the unit before hand so I suggest bringing a vacuum and something to clean the spiderwebs with. No lights within the unit so be sure to bring a flash light if you are working in your unit late.

Needed to move and downsize units for my elderly Mom. Came in from out of state and only had a short time. William and Izzy were amazing, and so patient, with assisting me get a new unit near the old unit to make the transition easier. My stuff was stolen and I found it in a unit From mine The manager stated that units have been broken into, and they’ve had the cops down there almost every single day for the past few weeks the fact that I found my items in a neighboring storage unit is wild, and after taking the remaining items home after moving all of my items smell like cat piss are covered in little black dots and mothballs The ground looked like there was a water leak somewhere so I’m checking to see if my items are damaged smells like something died and all of my items now permanently smell like cat piss and I have to replace all of them because they have now stinking up my entire house.

When this place was Storage West, it was a nice, personable place. But Cubesmart is another corporate, unbending machine. When I started 3 years ago my rent for a 5x5 was $65. There have been increases but last month they raised my rate $16, to over $100/month. If you are 6 days late with your rent, they lock your access code to enter. Besides that, they have good hours and it's clean.

They raised the rent too many times. They mistaken me for someone who didn’t pay and thus cut off the lock and prepared my items for sale. No one ever informed me or apologized or made it up to me. I felt violated and I would never try this company again. I might add that I am on auto pay and thus a good customer.

Kevin, I told you that I would write this review, so here it comes: 1. Friday May 3rd, office supposed to open at 9:30, I’m waiting until 10:30 and nobody shows up. Office closed, lights pff. 2. I come in today and your patronizing loom, despite wearing a hat that didn’t look better when you first purchased it, 30 years ago- told me seek business elsewhere 3. Then you made up a policy, that a customer cannot receive 50% 1st month off if they had this promotion recently. I checked fine print, and it checks out. I was storing an RV here (travel trailer), and I have nothing specifically against this location or their management, but the rent hikes of Cubesmart are just out of control. I started with rent at ~$300/month, and year later it was increased to ~$350, which I still accepted, but after 2nd year it was increased to ~$450, which didn't make any sense any more so had to move out. Now I see the same size of RV storage in the same location advertised at ~$195/month! I guess I could rent it back, but I don't want to play these games and keep going in and out every year.

Definitely some interesting tenants here... I originally posted some photos with a negative review about the state of the property, but then they fixed the drainage issue, so I took it down. There was a drainage issue that was definitely going to flood everyone's downstairs unit last winter at the next rain if I didn't post the photos here, plus all kinds of hazards like broken glass and needles before I called them out on here. The area by the stairs had an awful rotten urine smell, so that pond down the middle of the road was urine flavored. I chatted with the manager one time and he said some people let their dogs take a dump in the inside hallways if I'd seen anything. It didn't surprise me but I hadn't seen it inside. The classy gentlemen in the photo below at least brought his puppy outside before pooping, I was fixing something under my steering wheel and always have dog bags with me for walks, asked if he needed one because I had it within arms reach and they were leaving, and he went into full tweaker mode on me, asked if I've been stabbed as he reached into his pocket, asked if I've been to prison, trying his absolute best to get me arrested when I couldn't back up any further into my door. His girlfriend didn't seem interested in helping anything, she just squawked something about me being a drug dealer and started taking photos of my vehicle and license plate. Drug dealers would definitely use higher quality facilities where their customers don't hang out. He told me all about his rank in his prison gang so it will be really fun knowing this unstable fool has my license plate and car photos. Luckily I was driving a vehicle that's easy to enter from the right side because they were waiting at my driver's door when I tried to leave after escaping this lunatic inside. Then he was at the front gate watching me leave. Needless to say I didn't get any of my storage unit stuff done and it's now stuck there near someone who spends a lot of time there. I feel bad for the puppy. If you like dodging needles, glass, dog poops, floods, and sharing your space with the lowest quality people who leave those things for you, then this is the place for you. Bonus material is rate increases.

I like facilities but some annoying features. For example the outer gate is open until 10pm but the building where my unit was located would lock at 7pm. Slow to replace outside lights which makes parking lot scary. Also they raise the price a lot. Offer a low price at first and once you are settled, they raise the price every year until you are forced to move out.

Friendly staff, easy going atmosphere. unlike many other storage businesses in this city which are ran by nazis usually. this place will allow you to stay 3 minutes past closing and be okay with it instead of literally kicking you out when the months up like others. Also has an on site u haul type trucm they'll lend you for the day to move your stuff for free! open long hours for access. Highly recommended.

If you are looking for a high-quality, caring, personalized storage facility... LOOK NO FURTHER! I can't even begin to describe how helpful Ronnie and Derek have been with my car storage situation. Due to COVID, I had to temporarily relocate back to the East Coast and leave my car in SD. Family could no longer look after my car, and I was scrambling to find a storage unit that was affordable and who would be able to work with me virtually, as I can't travel right now to be in-person. Everywhere I looked was full, but then Storage West came through!! From the get-go I explained the situation via phone and Derek and Ronnie were able to squeeze me into their last parking space, offering to send me all the paperwork to fill out from home, and even taking down my family member's name so that they can be ready to help her when she drops off my car. The lease process was straight-forward and easy (took only 2 days of going back and forth via email), and Derek called me every step of the way to personally update me on the process. I could not ask for better customer service, and am beyond impressed with their quality of support even at a distance. I have no doubt my car will be in good hands until I can be back in SD, and I 100% will recommend Storage West - La Jolla to anyone I know in the future. You guys are the best!!!

I've had a storage locker here for almost 2 years now and I love this place! Their customer service is excellent!! I've had multiple occasions where I needed their assistance both in person and telephonically, and they have always been able to help me find a solution. They are friendly, professional, and timely. The facility is secure and well taken care of. A convenient monthly auto-payment can also be setup. The manager, Derek Cameron, and the employees, namely Enrique Castenda have been tremendous in aiding me at this facility. I highly recommend them!!!

Had to change my rating... The prices have gone up a LOT in the time I have been renting. I still think the staff is very helpful and polite. I feel like my things are safe and I don't have to worry. The hours are 7am to 7pm.. but if I need access later, all I need to do is ask them for late access.
