We had to find a trustworthy self-storage unit pretty quickly when my uncle passed away, as we needed to move up his personal belongings from Florida and store them for a while. Most of the places up by us in the Woodbury-Waterbury area looked sketchy, were in possible flood zones, or were dirty…so we went south, back to our old neighborhood, to check out CubeSmart in Shelton…which we had passed by for many years. This place is SO CLEAN! We chose a 10x20 climate-controlled unit and are very pleased so far. Everything is very secure and it doesn’t feel like walking into a horror movie. Ha ha. The staff has been very helpful and accommodating, and when we had some minor drama with the movers, they assured me that everything we were promised from them would go as planned…and it did. They genuinely cared about our situation and we appreciate it very much. Every time we walk into the office, we are greeted with a smile. We highly recommend this location.

I am having back surgery a week after this day so I was rushed to find a storage facility which I did on line not realising the unit was on the top floor and was above the floor units which you needed one of those rolling ladders to put bring everything up the ladder into the unit which there was no way in my condition! I called them and immediately they found me a unit on the first floor. Granted it was much more expensive and the promotion of first month free and 40% off wasn’t valid at least I didn’t have to find another unit somewhere else since I already had everything out of the car on two carts. I didn’t even think that there would be a unit that high up. I guess I am giving both sides of my experience. Thank you for getting me something that day because in the shape I was in there was no way I could have gotten what I needed done

So far, so good. This is just my 1st day at Cubesmart, so I can't comment on more that signing up and checking-in process. The manager at this location was SO helpful! Answered all my questions, and even pointed me to an online promotion they had. Awesome! Emailed instructions were very clear, and I got into my unit with no problems. The location looks very clean, and is very secure. I also downloaded the app, which looks very helpful. I originally chose Cubesmart because it's close to my home, but I'm very happy so far!

I am assuming that majority of people needing a storage unit are in some sort of desperate situation. I found myself in-between moves due to unforseen circumstances and needed a place to store about 50 boxes and a few pieces of furniture for 3 weeks. I called CubeSmart to store my stuff in the Shelton location. While the customer service was excellent, the experience to get in/out conveniently was great, many of my items stored in the facility were damaged by mold. My stuff was INSIDE in the building with an Hvac system for 3 weeks. My cube shelf had mold inside the woodgrain, my raw wood bed frame had mold damage on the edges, and a brand new rug had black mold inside of it. Additionally, the clothes I had stored inside storage bins wreaked of mold. I have had to wash them in vinegar and baking soda multiple times. A lot of them have to be discarded because the smell is so pungent and I'm afraid of what it will do to my health to wear these clothes. I thought it was odd that they automatically included an insurance policy when I signed up, but given the circumstances I didn't argue with them because I was too exhausted by my current situation. I am working with the insurance people now, and have yet to be reimbursed. Even if I am compensated, it still won't replace the inconvenience of having multiple items damaged while being stored here. BEWARE! DO NOT STORE ITEMS OF VALUE HERE BECAUSE THEY WILL GET MOLDY! THIS STORAGE FACILITY HAS A BLACK MOLD ISSUE. Edited to include: the insurance policy they include is a scam, after following their procedure which included paying to get the form of damages and costs notarized they then informed me that mold and water damage isn’t included in the policy. Horrible! Will never use a cube smart or self storage facility again. You might as well store your stuff in someone’s basement instead.

Although the sign-up process had a couple of hiccups (new system that still has some bugs), the staff are extremely nice and went above and beyond to help me move my stuff in this weekend. Some of the units require rolling ladder access. The man who assisted me (I can't remember his name :/) singlehandedly brought 3 large plastic storage bins and two heavy suitcases up the ladder for me. Much appreciated!

Just finished selling my previous home and buying a new one within Shelton. I had some downtime in between the two (ended up being five months) so I needed a place to store my belongings. Cubesmart was conveniently located in a central point of Shelton (or at least I think), the units were temperature controlled and the security measures were excellent. Storage units aren't cheap in general but I had nothing but good experiences with Cubesmart from start to finish.

We recently moved our items to our home out of state. We rented here for 5 years and have had an excellent experience. Dave the Manager is great and very helpful. Dave was always very accommodating and runs an excellent business. The facility is super clean, secure and easily accessible. I highly recommend using this facility and feel comfortable that your property will be safe, secure and worry free. The only negative is the frequent price increases. It’s based supply and demand but got expensive over time. Overall, I give CubeSmart a 5 star rating and highly recommend using this particular facility.

This place is *wonderful*. As cliche as it may sound, every part of the experience, from the initial signup for my cube, to helping me out when I forgot my passcode (more than once), to closing out when I finally bought a house, was surprisingly easy and painless. Of special note, the employees I interacted with here, every single one, were the nicest people I've ever dealt with in customer-facing positions. I would recommend CubeSmart to anyone who needs self-storage, and if (when) I need extra storage, I'll be coming back here. Plus they had the best price. 5 stars isn't enough.

Had a fantastic experience with this cubesmart location. Kind,friendly, accommodating staff. Location is clean, dry, easily accessible. Has moving transporters, elevators and is climate controlled. We Had an outdoor unit as well as an indoor unit, both were great as they held our possessions for a year while we moved. I would highly recommend them and would use again if needed! Thank you Shelton Cubesmart!!

This CubeSmart location stays true to the company's philosophy of surprising and delighting customers by giving them more than they expected. My wife and I ran into issues while closing on our new home and Jay and Xiomara were more than accomodating. The rental process was explained thoroughly while not being overbearing with key points emphasized. I was extremely comfortable throughout the process and this location (Shelton) is obviously very secure with SEVERAL cameras facing in every direction completely covering the property. Should I need storage in the future I would make the trip to the Shelton location specifically because of the staff and the A+ customer service they provided. Thanks you!

Highly recommend CubeSmart in Shelton. The staff goes above and beyond to support their customers and are always very understanding. We rented a unit for 7 months and had no issues with our things after we moved out. Jay gave fantastic tips on how to load the unit and how to protect certain things such as couches and other furniture. We also rented their Moving Truck 3 times and it was a lot easier than using U-Haul. Amazing Customer Service here and again highly recommend this location for your storage needs.

VERY OVERPRICED! The storage units are too small in comparison to other storage facilities for a higher price! They reel you in with a small promotion at the beginning but it's not worth the money. After just a few short months there, they raised rent nearly $20 more per month and told me that it covers grounds keeping like mowing the lawn and miscellaneous gardening! Save your money, there's no value at CubeSmart.

I had to rent a medium size storage unit (I believe it was 10x10) while transitioning to a new place. The price we got for the space we rented was a very good deal. It beat all the competition. The staff was very friendly and processed the paperwork and got the keys to us quickly. A+ customer service! If I ever need anything stored I will be using Cubesmart.

This is my second time using CubeSmart and I just have to say that the manager David is outstanding and Jae who is also one of the best workers I've ever met, was so helpful, so considerate. it's been a really hard transition for me moving out of my big house into a condo and then having to move again! IT'S been overwhelming but it's nice to know that when you're giving up on Humanity, that people do exist that really help you!!!! I recommend anyone who feels lost and has to put their belongings somewhere, to reach out to CubeSmart and know that it will all be safe!!!!!

Stay away from CubeSmart (Shelton CT) The facility is nice, but constant rate increases are outrageous. My rent went from $115/mo to $238/mo in 5 years. and If you are 2 minutes late, there is a late fee, and they charge you a 'convenience fee' to pay the bill online. And to rub it in, they are advertising unit my size online for $131.00. This is for a 10x10 unit with two large columns in it (I was told I would get a discount because of the columns.That was a lie) When I ask who I should talk to, I was told they would get back to me. Won't even release the name/number of someone to talk to about this. Please spread the word, Stay away from Cubesmart!!!!

I had to write to thank and praise the manager David.My husband and I went to drop some things off at 6pm and realized we forgot the key to our storage unit .I ran to the office and just caught David as he was closing the office .I explained our dilemma and he went out of his way to help us out by even though his workday was done.The fact that he willing went out of his way to help and his kind, pleasant demeanor was exceptional.Thank you, David! In addition to David, I also highly recommend this cubesmart location not only for the pleasant staff but also for the cleanliness of the facility.

The manager David went above and beyond to find the best suitable storage for me. Very pleased to have found this storage facility. UPDATE! When I finally had a chance to move my load in, David again was instrumental in making everything go smoothly. I never should have worried. He had dollies at the ready, knew just where the driver should park, walked me through the process, and was a personal cheering coach throughout. I will never go anywhere else. He has made me a loyal customer.
