Straight forward storage place. Great if you live in the area. Other places in the DC area may be cheaper so consider that if this exact location is less of a priority. Check online for deals with this and pretty much all of its competitors.

Best of all the storage options in the area, hands down. The overall cheerful atmosphere, cleanliness, level of attention to detail, attentiveness of management and staff are matched by the impressive combinations of layouts to choose from. The music piped in is a nice surprise and makes it easy to lose track of time if not careful. Who wants to be bored when taking care of chores? Packing and storage supplies are always well stocked and managed with care at this store in particular. The personal touch is professional and neighborhood friendly - even extended to furry friends on a leash. :) Look no further when looking for your new home away from home for all your treasures. We went to look at the space before confirming we wanted to start storing. Upon entering there was an angry homeless man inside swearing at us. There was a litter of garbage on the floors. I just can’t picture myself going alone to the storage unit. Cube Smart needs better monitoring or have a person on the grounds. Nobody was there to help us it was all remote access.

Great storage unit - terrible "convenience" fee of 2% every time you need to pay your bill. Basically scamming you out of $10 everytime you pay - for no reason whatsoever. 2 stars for the 2% fee. Seems fair on my end. Storage units are great though.

Good facility. Friendly and accommodating staff. However, I would recommend a short-term unit rental with CubeSmart as the increase in rent is dramatic relative to other storage providers I have worked with over the last decade +. Throughout my three-year tenancy, the price per month increased by 38% (original move-in to last bill). That is a much higher increase percentage-wise than any CubSmart competitor I have leased space from over a similar period, which includes three smaller/ independent companies as well as larger ones like Extra Space and UHaul.

On moving day the control system of the elevators failed -mechanically they were sound, but the call buttons on the ground floor didn't work. No one was around but by chat we were told they could not be reset until the following day. But that day was when we had rented the moving truck and had extra helpers available, not to mention a weekend when we didn't have to work. So we used the stairs - the cubicle is on the 6th floor. The claim of 24/7 availability does not hold up when put to the test. There are lots of other options, I would not go back here again

I have had an excellent experience at cube smart on Florida avenue NW. Agents were kind and always available to help. They answered my questions and gave me all the information I needed. Upon booking a unit they took my criteria into account and let me choose what worked best for me. I never had any issue when moving in, visiting and moving out. There was always space to park a car, and the place is kept clean and safe. Most importantly my stuff remained safe and in perfect condition. I’d go there again if I needed to.

Had a storage unit in their building. Somehow the building flooded and I lost everything. They proposed only minimal insurance, offered no additional insurance options, and refused to work with my own supplemental insurance to help cover the lost. I lost many irreplaceable family items that I thought were safe in the climate controlled building. But no. Total loss.

Seems cheap at first, but they will raise your rent so often, you'll be paying 2-3x the initial monthly fee within a year or so. They know you have your stuff in it, and they figure you aren't going to go through the hassle of moving it out. Yeah that's probably true- until your initial monthly bill doubles or triples and you're at the point where you could actually save money by moving into a bigger house and just store your junk in the basement. I should have known to stay away when they refused to honor my initial online rate when I got there. Don't ignore the red flags. These self storage places are a scam in general. Donated your old junk and buy new junk like a true American consumer.

Garage doors are always broken, there seems to never be enough dollies/trollies which really sucks, there’s no reservation system to the garage so you have to be first come first serve and hope you can get in or wait outside in a narrow street. Front desk is unreachable by phone most times. Kind of a hassle being here and it could easily be made better if they wanted.

Large modern facility.... but .... After raising my monthly rate by 30% with less than a months notice it would be nice if more than 1 of the 3 loading dock doors were in service. Somewhat understandable that the one damaged when someone drove into it remains brokn, but to continue to charge for full service month after month when they are not providing the service customers are paying for is not defensdable. Having only one entrance limits the amount of vehicles that can gain entry creating waits for cars to move, or to be able to get your vehicle out when someone is blocking you. You're forced into long time waits whenever a moving truck is loading or unloading. It's not a not recent development, it's been ongoing for months.

THINGS TO BE AWARE: - The Elevator at this location is very slow so if you need quick access consider a 1st or 2nd floor unit. - Prices fluctuate a lot and it's pricey, had to communicate several times to correct pricing based on what was presented to me on the website. - Overestimate your storage unit sizing, never push it to the limit, I found out my unit had a pillar inside of it and had to do a same day switch which added quite a bit of money. - CubeSmart does not do nationwide shipping like UHaul/POD does

LOVE this location! I have been here for a while to manage my business needs, almost 4 years! There have been a ton of management changes but this current team is just absolutely the BEST! Devren is the GM and he really runs this place like a well oiled machine. He cleaned up a lot of nuianaces that were happening in the buidling before he got there. He has done an amazing job training the rest of the team. You can work with anyone on this team and you will receive amazing service. Devren, Jen, Brandon, or Derrick will assist you in any way they can. I love popping in the office to say hello as they are always so friendly and helpful. This place is like my second home and they always make me feel welcome. I finally have a peace of mind storing my valuables with this team managing the building. I have been to several of the locations in the DMV...this is definitely the one you want to go to! :)

1.) The first unit assigned to me was dented substantially and was extremely difficult to open. I had to get reassigned to a different locker that ended up being more desirable by the elevator and was in much better condition. The first locker should have been repaired before being rented again. Also, I should have been offered the better unit first. 2.) Only one elevator was operational. On a busy day with lots of moves occurring, I was paying someone by the MINUTE to sit and wait for just one elevator...I probably wasted $100 just because of your elevator, which frankly, I’d love to have reimbursed. 3.) A tenant of a unit on the ground floor was moving out because his belongings are covered in mold from the temperature and humidity not being properly controlled in the building. Additionally, he informed me that the insurance is not covering any of his losses. 4.) I believe the above tenant because the office on the first floor also smells like mildew. 5.) I’m now concerned about the safety of my items being stored in such an environment. The only redeeming qualities are the location and friendly staff.

Once they have your money you're on your own. First day was fine. Signed up online, finished registering in person, moved some stuff in my unit no problem. Second day, my code no longer worked when I went at 5pm. While it was still access hours, the office was closed so no one too help out. Dialed the 1-800 number but of course once I hit the button that I am an existing customer, I was channeled through multiple options until the system disconnected. Twice!

The guys in the office are helpful and friendly. LeVaugh was patient when showing me the unit reserved even though it was 30 minutes before closing, and then found an alternate option that functioned better for me than the initial unit. Price is slightly higher than some other options but well worth the premium for a close-by location, easy loading and unloading spaces that are covered, not to mention the always clean, actually conditioned, facility itself.

I just returned from visiting my storage pod and there was an elevator issue (a normal repair problem) that caused elevator services to be extremely delayed. I was going to leave but then decided to use the intercom to call the front office. Within moments Jennifer and LaVaughn were at my side, actually tracked the elevator to its floor location, rode it back down to me and then escorted me to my pod. Tremendously friendly and helpful service, and exceptional grade while under fire. Thanks, Jennifer and LaVaughn!

The manager Jennifer is simply the best. She always looks out for me and does everything she can to help when I need it. Johnson and LaVaughn both share the same customer service style and are ready with a smile and an answer to my questions every time I see them. I am there on an almost daily basis so I have more interactions then most storage space renters would. Cubesmart has a great team on site here. It is the district manager that could use some training but that deserves it's own separate review.

They will give you a rate, and then raise it a few months later even though there is no statement anywhere saying that the rate is time limited. When you call to get an explanation for the rate increase, they won't call you back. Meanwhile, they will your their "great" customer service to you all the time. Store your stuff somewhere else.

I was assigned locker number 5025. I was told it would be open with the lock left inside. When I got to the storage unit, the unit was locked. I called customer service, I spoke to Burt. He reached out to the store manager, Lavon who acknowledged he forgot to unlock the unit. Even though it was the manager’s mistake he refused to come back to unlock the unit. Burt reached out to him two more times and he said he was out of the area. He said for me to come back tomorrow. I explained that I drove all the way from New York City for the day. I will not be able to return tomorrow. I needed the storage to put my daughter’s belongings because she was moving out of her dorm room. I pleaded with Burt to find an alternative, Lavonn said there was nothing he could do. Finally, Burt gave me the district manager’s phone number. I called and left a voicemail for the DM. There was no follow up from the DM. Eventually, I loaded my daughter’s belongings in my car and drove back to NYC. I expect a full refund. Thank you,

The check in process here was simple and smooth. The price was better than most in the area, which is a huge plus. Shanee was polite and thorough in making sure I had everything I needed to access the unit. She gave me a tour of the facility and set me up with the proper details. My only critique is that the online reservation process could do a better job of explaining that buying insurance from Cubesmart is required (minimum $12 monthly fee). But that's not a gripe with that facility in particular. Everything going on there is great.

Leah was such a helpful and attentive manager. Location is great and I rented a 10x20x8 unit. Two big downsides: a) the unit didn’t seem to have 1,600 cubic feet as it didn’t fit all items in the truck I hired which had a smaller capacity and b) they should have a higher clearance so most trucks could pull in. It makes it more challenging to have trucks block the main losing dock entrance

The facility is super clean. Check in was very easy. Shanee the General Manager was very courteous, efficient, and helpful. The parking is inside the facility on the bottom floor with an access code entry which makes it very helpful for unloading as well as for safety when loading/unloading.

I stored my winter clothing and various other chattels here when I was away from DC. It was a good experience, with clean storage units and easy access. Competitive pricing. My only complaint is the premises seemed understaffed at times, meaning the office was locked. Apart from that, really recommended!

This REALLY is as good as it gets. We've rented from places in NYC, Washington state, and throughout D.C., and I have never had such an easy, friendly, clear, and positive experience. Leah, Ana, and Joseph have gone out of their way to make moving (which is the worst thing in the world) utterly seamless and stress-free. And the facilities are incredibly clean and new, down to the small fans posted in each hallway to ensure it doesn't get uncomfortable when you're moving heavy things. I'm actually sitting here in their offices right now waiting for my shipment to come, and they're not just putting up with me camping in their spaces but offering me water and coffee to make it better. Not going to lie - CubeSmart has made me want to move simply because it's so easy. And that's really amazing.
