General Manager “Mayra”, Store Manager “Jerome” needs customer service training. Mayra calls me and says my “co-worker” does not know when you are vacating the units. I was trying to explain that “Jerome” left me a voice message stating that he’s aware that I was going to vacate the unit, and he notice that the unit has not been cleared. Returning his call explained we lost the key asked how much they would charge to open the unit. Jerome gave me a price of $21.93. Mayra is very disrespectful, keeps talking over you and would not allow you to say anything. I disconnected the call and contacted Cube Smart Headquarters to report them both. Upon speaking with Headquarters, they are not supposed to charge a fee to access your unit after you have signed their authorization form given Cube Smart access to your unit. Headquarters said that it’s been noted in the system for two days that I was vacating the unit they did not understand where the miscommunication issues came from. I will NOT recommend this storage unit to my worst enemy. Mayra & Jerome need customer service training or Cube Smart needs hire another GeneralManager. Mayra definitely needs to go!

I have been doing business with the particular CubeSmart on 9th Ave for quite some time. I have experienced a few general managers come as they progressed the totem pole. Currently, the storage unit feels like it's being re-vamp for a prosperous future.

Horrible. Not only does the elevators smell like urine most of the times, but their customer service and follow up are extremely poor. I've having issues login in to my online account to make a payment for days, Ive called during normal business hours for assistance, I've left voice mails, I've tried to speak with the store manager and nobody has gotten back to me for days. Vast majority of the times, a rep is just seating behind the desk and on their phone, but they cant return a call? Poorly trained staff or incapable management or both...who knows!

I wanted to use the location on Ravenswood rd because it’s closer to my job but unfortunately I was unhappy with the customer service I got there so I ask for a refund and went to another location. First I visited the office so I could have a tour of the place and see what they had available but the lady in the office was not really helpful. She had waiting 10-15 minutes while she was on a personal call then told me she couldn’t really help me at the moment because of the internet down.So I went to my unit got there and couldn’t find a cart so I called the office and she told me that the carts supposed to be by the elevators or basically had to look around the building for one got to my unit and didn’t like it so I went to the location on 901 nw 1 st. Thanks Mira she was very helpful

THIS WAS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! THE ENTIRE FACILITY IS FULL OF HOMELESS PEOPLE WHO ARE LIVING OUT OF THEIR STORAGE UNITS. THEY LOITER AROUND THE PROPERTY 24/7 AND THEY BROKE INTO MY STORAGE UNIT AND SLEPT IN MY UNIT AND PEED ON MY BOXES OF CLOTHES. THEY ARE CHANGING THEIR CLOTHES IN THE HALLWAYS AND THEY HANG AROUND THEIR UNITS FROM THE TIME THE FACILITY OPENS UNTIL THE TIME THE FACILITY CLOSES. THEN THEY SLEEP ON THE GROUND AROUND THE FACILITY. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING.

So far, I am happy with CubeSmart. I was there at 0830 to open my account but no one was there (0830 was the stated opening time) so I left shortly thereafter for other errands. Came back later and was quickly set up. However, there was a guy sleeping on a cart next to my locker with his stuff in my locker. I can see how this might happen since the place is not staffed during all access hours. The guy who woke up was really nice and apologized. The staff person quickly found me another cube and it was pretty clean. I am a clean freak so will clean again but it looked ok. The overall spaces seemed good. And the price of $15 per month - it does not get any better than that (with your own lock and insurance). There was a one time fee but it was reasonable.

0 out of 10 STARS! I wanted to sign a contract with this storage company, when I arrived, no one was at the office. I knocked on the door. A woman came out, munching on her lunch, pretending that I tore it off for her. She said she had a lunch break because she still had to work until 6 o'clock, and I arrived at 4pm. The woman said that I should wait 30 minutes for her to get me into the process, because she has a break, although this is not provided in office hours. That's why I chose another storage across the street with friendly employees.

BAD, BAD, BAD Company. My experience happened a year ago Feb 2022 during pandemic, after 15 days they changed the entry code and gave my storage away. Yes, I paid for a full 30 days. Found me another unit I had to cover additional expenses and they also refused to give me discounted prices the following month. Stored my stuff there only for 15 more days. The workers were rude on three other occasions. Bathroom used was monitored by list of users. (Bit weird but whatever) Place was dusty on inside and outside had constant construction which made it unsafe walking through (unsure if that's continuing condition.) Told had short few minutes use of storage then lights timed out every 15 minutes I believe.

Rachel is very courteous & professional. After renting a few months now, the facilities are a bit grubby, I wear gloves because everything feels dirty. My rent has gone up more than $50mth in under 6months. The facilities seem to be downgrading in the last few months. The carts are damaged, the elevators are broken for several days, the doors were left open on the weekend with no staff or security on site. I will be looking for another storage facility to rent.

This is my fourth Cubesmart. I’ve never faced worse management than here, in this one. The stuff is not in the office during working hours, I’ve been waiting for them for 2.5 hours on a Saturday. They don’t reply emails. Like never. If you need to resolve something with them you have to call the support, and only after that they start doing something. The worst Cubesmart I ever rented

They don't let you know if your payment doesn't go through nore do they call and leave a voice-mail. The fact that they think anyones going to answer a random number especially with how many spam calla people get now an days is rediculous. They also dont send emails or snything. They just send you a letter that says your stuff going to auction while they've added $180 in fees. And if you don't pay the whole thing in full they still auction your stuff off. *UPDATE* CALLED THE STORE AGAIN, WAS TOLD DISTRICT MANAGER WOULD BE CALLING ME WITHIN A NEXT BUSINESS DAY.. STILL NOTHING, ITS BEEN ALMOST A WEEK.

CubeSmart Self Storage (901 Nw 1st St, Fort Lauderdale, FL) has fit the bill for a short term, small storage need. The storage building is temperature controlled and very clean and tidy. The 2 staff ladies, Tiffany H. and Xiomcira H. that assisted me were very helpful in setting me up with the size locker I needed and in a place handy to my needs. The rent price is ok ,especially if you carry your own insurance (home or apt.) Security looks to be good and as I'm not storing the Mona Lisa all should be well.. I am satisfied new customer. I recommend this location and CubeSmart.

I can’t praise the employees at the 1st Street Cube Smart in Ft Lauderdale enough! Adding to the cleanliness, air-controlled units, accessible hand trucks, easy in and out, and safety there, the workers go the extra mile to provide friendly, helpful, respectful services and drop everything they’re doing to give you the answer or assistance you need. When we moved here from Ft Myers, we didn’t realize how far this facility would be from our residence, but we refused to get a closer storage place when we realized how much we loved unit 2064 and later 4113 and all the perks as well as the wonderful staff. It is hot as hell here. I had to take my photos out of my unit because I didnt want the humidity ruining them. They say it is air controlled; so that means they choose for it to be hot, it is not air conditioned by any means.

This location does not do their job properly. I was told last month I could change my billing cycle which has never been changed. After speaking with a customer service agent to waive the late fee; which was waived, I used my card to find out I was still charged a late fee. They don’t give accurate information which causes confusion to their costumers. Also the location allows anyone including the homeless on the property who beg you for money all day. The employees do not care about any problem you have and talk to you rudely. I regret doing business with this company. It is now -1/19/21 and I am currently still going thru this issue with this location. I was contacted last time by Daniel Suarez and now that I’m having this current issue I am having a hard time getting back to anyone regarding my billing issue when I requested almost 2 months ago.

Upon entering the unit I had my hesitations, a random car followed me into the gate. Upon getting out of my car it looked as if this location was a location for all the local transients to come sleep, hang out, and sleep at in the “secure” garage. The back gate was open for anyone to get in and out and the secure lobby had the door open. I got in the elevator which was filled with trash, and beer caps and rode up to my unit. After pass a few units with grocery carts full of random stuff, I found my unit that was rented out to someone prior to me arriving. So I just turned my cart around pack my car and went down the road to an actual storage unit. I recommend any other place than this.

Decided to make a move from my old storage facility and am very happy that we chose cubesmart. We were able to use a truck that they supplied for the move. The place is very clean and secure. You need access codes to move everywhere in the facility which makes me feel real good about using them. And you can't bet their prices.

This property has gone downhill quick! It’s like a zoo here. People sleeping everywhere/ anywhere and every inch of this place is disgusting. Floors are filthy, roaches everywhere, most light bulbs are burnt out, constant bad odor, trash everywhere and the list can go on! This property needs to be quarantined. It’s sad to see since I’ve been renting here for years and it wasn’t this bad before.

Hello this is renter 2043 Donald Sloma, I have emailed and I have left my store manager voicemails regarding a corrected invoice. Further more I am requesting written documentation of the brief sentences Jermey the store manager stated. This being , We (cube smart) will not be charging you anything further nor do you have to pay the rent amount for the invoice due of March 19th according to the invoice, and that we are terminating the lease and will vacate 10 days effective the day following our conversation. That would make the 10th day April 9th , the lease and contract we share is effective of the 22nd so In addition I need to be refunded the 4-6 charges for online payment convenience fee, one late fee. I am not receiving any correspondence or any communication from this store or my store manager to any emails or voicemails, the contract created by cubesmart has been breeched by cubesmart thus it is no longer a binding document, so this is a civil matter now. Any agreed upon articles in the contract such arbitration (paragraph 20 &21) do not stand as a legal binding agreement. If I do not receive response within 12-24 hours this location will be receiving a letter from my attorney. I am currently in the hospital and unable to walk due to health issues. Cellulitis in my ankles feet and my face . This email will be sent to several of your locations , any cooroerste emails. And posted on your reviews as well S google reviews and anywhere else necessary until my store manager and store stop ignoring me. Thanks in advance for your cooperation. Best regards

Upon arrival I came in contact with the property manager Stanley. He took me to see the unit and we went back down to do paperwork. I unloaded all my things in about 2 hrs and Stanley made sure in between that I had enough dolly/carts to do so. Everything went so quickly and smoothly and I was happy that I choose this location. I really like this particular Cubesmart. The staff is super friendly, knowledgeable & helpful. Lots of different configurations to store your stuff! Location is very convenient too.

Frankly, I was quite impressed upon my initial visit. The young lady and yourself displayed proficiency, courtesy and professionalism. However, upon checkin, please know that commander lee doesn't deal well with rift raft , in otherwords, encountering any distepect or criminal activity or harassment from other tenenants . BEWARE!!!! I PAID MY BILL PROVIDED A RECEIPT OF PAYMENT AND THEY DEMAND I REPAY MY MONTHLY BILL BECAUSE THEIR SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONED AND DIDNT APPLY THE CREDIT TO MY ACCOUNT THEY HAVE LOCKED MY UNIT AND MY ONLINE ACCOUNT AND REFUSE TO ACCEPT MY PAYMENT RECEIPT PROVIDED BY THEM. THEY WOULD RATHER GO TO COURT THAN TO ADMIT AND ACCEPT THEIR MISTAKE. DONT DO BUSINESS HERE UNLESS YOU ARE PREPARED TO HAVE TO BATTLE THEM IN COURT. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!! Beware. They give you a fake lease that means absolutely nothing. I never paid the price in my lease as it was raised immediately upon move in. I've only been here 7 months and they have raised the rent twice. Stay far away. This place is a scam.

I've rented 2 units from this CubeSmart facility. It is absolutely wonderful. Derrick Eugene is one of the most helpful, polite individuals I have ever dealt with in any customer service experience. I had many requests, all of which he helped accommodate with a smile. The impeccable service made me feel like I was at a 5 star hotel, not a storage facility. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Gus and his team are the best. Cubesmart is just awesome! Awesome location! They had the size unit I needed, a truck (free the first use, only $40 then 2nd) plenty of hand trucks and a safe clean environment. From the the time I made my online reservation, followed closely by them following up, to renting a unit later that day to the next week when I emptied it out. The rental process, both unit and truck, fast and easy. All the supplies you need reasonably priced so you don't have to go anywhere else. The best!

Super clean, nice storage space. Multiple layers of protection and security. Reasonably priced units that are climate controlled. When I visited and rented, everything worked, security cams were all on and the air conditioning was active. Staff is friendly and very easy to work with. I ended up renting a 10x15 space and it worked out great for me.

I have been extremely happy with the facility. I have had one and two units for over two years and it was always clean and accessible for my needs. I can't speak highly enough about the General Manager, Gus Melgar. I arrived at a very stressful time and he patiently helped me determine my needs and was always extremely courteous. Initially received a call from a gentleman, named Derrick, to confirm my reservation. When I arrived @ the office, he thoroughly explained all the details of my contract. He was extremely patient & kind while answering my questions & making sure I had everything needed to complete my move. He went above & beyond the call of duty. He & another guy, Gus, provide some of the best customer service one could ever hope for. Great Job, guys! Keep up the good work! *CubeSmart is a "state-of-the-art" facility. Very clean & secure. Wouldn't want to store my prized possessions anywhere else.

As a Professional Organizer, I have worked with a variety of storage unit facilities. This CubeSmart location in Ft. Lauderdale has, hands-down, been the best experience in my personal and professional work thus far. In my line of work, I do all sorts of work with storage units—I set them up for long and short term storage options, as well as help my clients to clear them out. For the first time, I was the client. I had to store items from my mother’s rental apartment after she suffered a catastrophic accident last summer, and her unit had stairs that she wouldn’t be able to maneuver. I worked with the CubeSmart team in FL while I was in NJ managing my mother’s care following her accident. They helped me set up the unit, grant access to my mom’s friend who was the point person with the movers, with great ease. Unfortunately, my mother passed away a few months later. I went to the CubeSmart in person in December, and over the course of two days I sorted through the items in the unit. The team was incredibly helpful as I coordinated donation pick-ups. They helped me select a smaller unit to hold the few items that I wanted to send back to NC at a future date. I was able to leave a key and sign a waiver that would allow me to grant movers access to my unit with an email. At the end of January, I notified CubeSmart that movers would be coming on a specific day to clear out the storage unit and put everything on a truck to NC. It was *HUGE* to have signed the waiver, and the movers could get easy access to my items, without having to ask a friend to take time in the middle of the week to meet them and open up the unit. The clear out went smoothly, and I received a check from the corporate office for the credit I received since I cleared the unit out before the end of the month. Thank you, Michael, Gus, and Derrick, for helping make something that could have been far more difficult go quite smoothly. After my experience at this CubeSmart, I will certainly recommend them to clients and friends across the country.

The unit we use is for work and I'm constantly in and out of the facility. I absolutely love coming to this place and look forward to digging around in my storage unit. The staff, Mike, Gus and the young lady who works here is always happy and in a cheerful mood. They're constantly asking if you need anything and they make sure you have what you need to make your in-and-out more efficient. Everything is always kept in order and my OCD doesn't go crazy when I get in there. I've heard some people complaining to them in the office about homeless people, but honestly, there's only so many times you can call the cops to have them picked up before the police department tells you to stop or they'll charge you money for each call... I've been there. It sucks. The only thing I wish they would do... is add Mt. Dew to the vending machine. I was so happy when they got one, but there's no Dew. On a serious note, the keypads to get in and out are kind of a pain, but I can live with that because of the security it adds. Keep up the great work!! See you next weekend when I come to clean it up.

I've been storing with CubeSmart for a long while. I came in recently for an upgrade unit and the service I got was phenomenal. Gus has always been super helpful, and the new General Manager Michael is just great. They make quite the team together and I see them doing great things at CubeSmart. They are very helpful and go beyond the limits of their job requirements for New and Old Customers. If you decide to store here, and trust me you will, I hope you appreciate Gus and Michael as much as I do.

Nothing but rave reviews for Cube Smart in Ft. Lauderdale. Moving from an apartment to a storage facility isn't easy or fun. But Mike and Gus made it as smooth as possible. They both went out of their way to help us. In addition, they helped us pick the right extras: storage boxes, lock, etc. They even helped us seal the last few boxes. We weren't sure which was the right size space; however, they assessed what we were moving and gave us the advantages and disadvantages of each. I can't say enough about how well we were treated. No surprises, no "bumps" in the road.

I had a wonderful experience at your facility as I tried to downsize some of my household items from a large locker to a smaller one. The fellow at the desk on Saturday, August 29, in the afternoon was just wonderful. He is always polite and always calls us by name. He helped us accomplish what we needed and it was a very positive experience. I called ahead the night before and the woman who answered the phone was very personable and knowledgeable. She offered me a deal I could not refuse and set up the transaction with the local facility. When I showed up the next day at the location the staff was ready for me. I signed the paperwork, they did include a $12 insurance extra (I did not think to ask if it was optional, it was already printed on the paperwork they had waiting for me) not previously disclosed and also sold me a great lock for $15 more. The facility was clean and neat and the temperature was cooler than I would have expected. The staff is very friendly and waves each time I have come in since.
