Don't get me wrong. The customer service at this storage unit was always amazing and what happened to us was not their fault, but the fault of the company as a whole. We recently were subject to a rat infestation at this unit. Most of our belongings were destroyed due to the sheer amount of rat urine and droppings. My husband visited our unit two months ago and everything was fine and nothing was wrong. So it happened in a relatively short amount of time. We payed for insurance throughout our whole stay, however corporate stated that damage due to infestations of any kind are not covered. So we lost all of our stuff. It is just unacceptable. Cubesmart as a company is awful and it is a shame we had to lose our stuff. I would recommend putting down rat traps in your personal unit so this doesn't happen to you.

If you credit card lost and u get a new one , the late fees are horrendous and you can’t re-enroll into auto payment till after your balance is paid in full with $100 late fee. Other than that pretty good business model.

We've been with CubeSmart since June of 2021, two years. We had a leaking roof with our unit and luckily only one item was affected. We had purchased the insurance and that claim was taken care of pretty quickly. We did not notice it when we moved into the cubicle but after the leaking event we noticed that the vinyl covering in the ceiling had been simply taped. Seems like it was eventually going to fail again... and it did. My real irritation today is that they keep raising the rental rates. We started with CubeSmart in June of 2021 and they increased our rent 13% in July of 2022 and most recently 15% in June of 2023. In my opinion simply price gouging. If you are a short term renter this would probably not affect you. Moved out in December of 2023 and found 4 pictures that had "heat" damage. Evidently the unit wasn't climate controlled 100% of the time. As I said before rental rates increased 13% and 15% during the two year we were there. Yet, if I was a new customer I would get a much cheaper rate. Just does not seem right or fair.

They’ll advertise an attractive price, but once in their office, you’re informed of additional mandatory insurance fee. In a loss, claimants need to provide receipts for the lost/damaged items, before any insurance Co will pay a claim, which most don’t save. So making it mandatory is a scam! They have a rental rate review every 6 months. Mine was a 5x5 for $68/mo & went $86/mo after my first 6 months. They say their rates are competitive with other facilities, but in reality it’s only with themselves! They are a chain throughout FL, & their facilities are new. You’ll pay for that “newness”. Better to find a place with a 9 or 12 month rate review policy. I had a 10x20 privately-owned unit in rural TX, that didn’t raise my rent for 10yrs! Currently I got a 10x10 for $138/mo with a 9 month review. Shop elsewhere, you’ll find a better deal, don’t deal with gougers.

Unfortunately, my 19 year old daughter had to quickly find a storage unit due to the sudden passing of her father. She had thought she had reserved a unit for climate control only to realize it was not. Climate control was extremely important so she can preserve her photographs of her and her father, and other sentimental items that needed to be removed from the house prior to the upcoming estate sale. I went to my climate controlled unit in the 7000 building on July 26th and the a/c was broken. I reported to receptionist at the site and she told me that they were getting it repaired. I returned to unit on Sept. 18th and it was still broken. I spoke to John Valentin yesterday (9/21) he told me the delay was due to covid. John told me not to tell him how to run his business and he wouldn't tell me how to run mine. Great customer service! My recommendation was to let the people who rent in the 7000 building that the a/c was broken. They are paying for a climate controlled storage unit. I recommend everyone check their units periodically.

I used a cubesmart unit in Fort Myers for about 6 months. The decided to arbitrally raise the monthly fee by almost 50%. At that time I cancelled my service. While I understand the need to raise fees over time, a 50% increase after just 6 months seems overkill. I would recommend speaking with the management in advance of getting a unit and ask them how long the pricing will remain in place.

HAD ALL MY STUFF ROBBED, SECURITY HERE IS WORTHLESS. So there's just cameras on the doors to the climate controlled building, not on the units themselves. Further the entry monitors on the units are not recorded. Put those together, and you can break into and take everything from any unit in there. As long as nobody catches you breaking the door physically you can casually move everything you find out or into your own unit and there's no way of telling who on the video is responsible. From what I understand they won't hand footage over to LSCO without a warrant. And from what I understand LSCO isn't going to go through the motions for a case like this. Also, just my unit was hit, no one saw into it. This was right after I refused their insurance, when they called me about "losing" my lease I signed when it was run by Midgard. Maybe a coincidence, I dunno... Thousands of dollars worth of video games stolen, I should have just thrown all of it away and saved myself the year and a half of rent. The units can be accessed without picking or breaking the lock, no idea how but the latch and door were damaged and the lock was intact. Took a week for them to fix the door before I could access it and discover the robbery. Attached is a photo of the door entry monitor that is present in all units and is not recorded.

I’ve shopped around for prices and they were the lowest I found. The girls in the front were helpful and friendly when I walked in. They had time to go over prices with me to make sure I was getting the best deal. I will definitely be renting with them when I am ready.

I came in this week to pay my bill and there was two new girls that were so helpful and kind. The store and property have seemed to improve with their presence. I didn’t see any debris visiting my unit and the facility was the cleanest I’ve ever seen!

Where to start... The facility is very secure with video surveillance, on site management and your own personalized gate code! The Manager, (Penny), is OUTSTANDING! Courteous, very knowledgeable, knows her clients, makes the right suggestions as far as what kind of space you will need with your equipment, show you around, explains the rules and just all around pleasant to work with. We were recommended this place by our friends and neighbors from our gated community (The Landings). They all go there for their storage needs. The site manager (Penny) always has a smile in her face and has been one of the nicest, most helpful local business people I have worked with wonderful place to do business. I absolutely recommend this place. Very reasonably priced. If you ever have any questions or comments or concerns just call her and she will take care of you. I have used many facilities in the past however the customer service here is second to none. Great Job Penny!! Keep up the great work! My wife and I truly appreciate everything you’ve done and continue to do for us! You are the best ! You are the perfect Manager. I would recommend this facility to anyone! Thank you, Penny for making things so easy!

I've been a Cube Smart customer for a few years and my experience there has been exceptional! Penny and her staff are well trained, friendly and easily available. The multiple units I have rented there have always been clean and well maintained. I go to my unit mostly at night and the grounds feel safe because they are well lit. I've never seen a bug or a rodent there either. No complaints....

Obtain a storage unit in a wink of an eye! Was able to call the location ask my questions and secure storage within 10 minutes. The staff, Miss Penny, extremely customer orientated and definitely understands the importance of quality customer service. Exceptional professional attitude, very understanding, patient, and overall a blessing. Had an emergency situation and she was able to assist, ASAP. Go to Extra Space Storage a quarter mile north of this place. Zero star experience based on the new management and company change to “Cube Smart”. If you are told anything by staff at this location, get it in writing, as they fire people and then tell you what they said was wrong. They didn’t even try to accommodate their error. Even if you are a long time customer, they are not about customer service and try to nickle and dime you. Contemplating contacting corporate about the unprofessional situation. It's all great getting you in, but wait until you try to move out. Horrible

I have been storing with CubeSmart aka the old MidGard for 2 years now. Ever since CubeSmart took over Penny and Terrance have been nothing but nice to me. Im at my cube almost everyday and one day Penny asked if i wanted to come inside and get out of the heat. I sat in the office with her and talked and she gave me a cold water. Ever since Midguard bought this location from Jim at Estero 41 Self Storage, they continued to raise rates and have messed my account up numerous times. They have called me two months in a row stating I am past due, the reason?! THEY changed my credit card expiration date, and removed my automatic payment?!?!?! They proceeded to charge me for late fees. I had to call three times to get them removed. The staff are indeed nice, however it is becoming difficult to trust they will conduct business properly. I hope they can improve their services to what it used to be! Disappointed

All-around horrible place. Worst customer service I've ever seen. This is the first review out of a series of reviews I'm working on as we speak. Basic storage unit with no bathrooms, sink, or trash receptacles to offer to customers. No gate. The non-climate controlled units are the size of a closet (as are the climate-controlled ones) and 200+ degrees F. This is a huge liability issue and I should sue. The guy that I made transaction with the first time gave me a bogus price then when I went to complain about the size and heat I got a climate-controlled room, one foot larger and 10 degrees F cooler. The security cameras are plugged in to a wall outlet, which are easily accessible--half of which are unplugged. I saw that someone left their drill battery charging in the same outlet. Cleanliness is ok and they have hand carts but they're all in disrepair. I don't get why they don't have any amenities for customers. Not even a soda machine or water fountain. As I was unloading boxes, I had to leave to find a drink and to pee. Also, the new unit I have now... all you can smell is smoke, all throughout the hallway. It's disgusting and I can't stand it. These people can’t part with pennies. God forbid I be credited for the months I was told I had to pay for bogus insurance when I have my own homeowners insurance. And they love to put a lock on your storage unit first chance they get—ON THE 6TH DAY, when rent was due on the 1ST. This is completely unheard of. On this day, a $150 hour of work was lost. I am a partner in running a cleaning business and charge $150 per hour labor. I had to wait for them to come and open the lock that was put on my unit, that they "forgot" to take off—this was days after I had paid my monthly rent and late fee. I would not have done so if it were not so that my cleaning supplies were in said unit. Also, I was not granted a military discount. Said they “don’t do that” there. I will be following up with the US Deptartment of Veteran Affairs and Health Department as well.

Do not give them your bank information, they will take the money out without authorization. Whether you tell them not to take money out of your account they will do it anyway. I gave them over 30 days notice that I was going to take my stuff out and they still wanted to take the money out of my account. I had to go to the bank and change my ATM card to stop them. Be careful with them they have done this to several people already. They suck

Jimmy the old owner was great. I recently took.my stuff out of storage that had been there for 7 years. They have my card on file and decided to take out payment when I already had my stuff moved out. After I gave them a 60 day notice. They require 30 days. BEWARE they will take out money from your account whether you authorize it or not. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR ACCOUNT NUMBER......I have contacted fraud dept at my bank, a lawyer to press charges for fraudulent activity and stealing 260 dollars from my account with out my authority to do so.

The old owners were great! The new owners of this location are corporately owned and don't care about customer service. They rarely answer their phone. They have had my credit card on file for automatic bill payment for almost a year. Due to a mix up they no longer had my card on file and started charging late fees. I called to pay and left voicemails numerous times and made phone calls during business hours with no answer. I then received notice that they will be auctioning my things. $135 in late fees after they didn't debit the second payment. They also have a new rule that you must give them a 30 day notice in order to discontinue your storage unit. If you wanted to end the storage unit with the last owner you would just need to remove your things prior to next payment. I would never recommend this company. I'm going to give my business to a local mom and pops that appreciate their customers. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!
