My experience with this location is wishy washy. I rented from them 2 times. The first time was in 2022 and it was good. I reconsidered them again in 2023 but this time it truly went downhill. I drove up to the fence, felt my car wobble from something hitting my tire. I roll my window down and can audibly HEAR my tire deflating as a piece of metal pierced through the tire. I rushed to the PepBoys down Bearrs to hopefully get a new tire expeditiously since I was on a time crunch to get to USF with my belongings. $150 down (just on 1 tire) the drain from an unkempt property. I had fully sealed my boxes and bags with tape prior to leaving my things. There were droppings of some sort in a bag. Sealed totes had some dead roaches in them. The storing experience can be improved, but for now I would not consider returning. Very friendly people in the office though.

stored my belongings for 5 months in an outdoor drive up unit. Just emptied it two days ago and every single one of my boxes were infested with roaches and had mice droppings. Literal huge roaches crawling out of the boxes as we opened them and mice droppings all over every item in every box it was absolutely disgusting. We had to throw out 15 boxes of personal belongings and when I called the storage facility I was told the insurance that I paid for did not cover rodents or bugs. Do not rent a unit here your things will be ruined and they won’t do a thing about it. **UPDATE - their generic response to the one star reviews saying to email and someone will reach out is a waste of time. No one will ever reach out

I have had a unit for a few years and recently had a rodent issue. I sent an email and pictures of damage to my equipment and never recieved a reply. I went to my unit again to pick up the damaged equipment and there was more damage to other equipment so i removed everything from my unit and wrote another email to the corporate office and have not recieved a reply yet from them. so i would not recommend any one to the Tampa florida 12th street location or any other cubesmart because they do not seem to want to reply or take care of issues but can raise there prices every 6 months

The worst experience ever having to deal with the manager, and her friend who works at this location at 14902 N 12th Street, Lutz, Florida 33549. Not only is she a liar she’s extremely unprofessional and act as if she was on some type of drugs. There was a verbal altercation with she and I at the storage, and I felt unsafe to the point where it seem she would attack me. Do not rent from CubeSmart. I will continue to press this issue until something is done.

We were in a hurry to find a storage unit to help move a family member. Shaina took a lot of time to discuss our needs and show us the units available that would meet them. She answered all of our questions and even helped us look at other Cube Smart locations for similar units. The manager lives on-site, which gives us a little more peace of mind. The prices are competitive (though it seems that all storage companies are charging way too much these days!).

I already told y'all what I thought when I left a review when I ended my cube smart subscription. This place shows corporate greed at its finest. With the monthly pricing of a unit going up 20% every 4 months, it is just outrageous. That's worse than inflation. But this company knows people can't afford to move their stuff again and again so people just live with these prices. It is sad. I will not be doing business with cube smart again. Btw. The people working there were fine. It is really just the business model that has me disgusted.

This place is totally infested with rats and roaches.. Some of the items in my boxes were destroyed by rats. All the boxes had the roaches and eggs.. Unfortunately, when I moved to my new home and opened the boxes, the roaches disappeared in to the furniture, cupboards etc. Also all the furniture I have placed had the roach eggs. It's nightmare experience and I still could not get rid of the roaches that came from cubesmart. very bad experience... There is absolutely no pest control and I should have read the low rating reviews before renting a storage unit in this location...

Storage manager was very helpful and answered all my questions. It was easier to reserve the storage and use it. Update: Changing to 1 star.. All of my furniture and boxes were infested with roaches and had roach eggs. After I took the boxes and furniture back to home, the roaches infested the home as well. I am still encountering the nymphs' hatched from eggs almost daily. This place needs regular pest control.

We already moved in but it’s not a great location temperature controlled for them is 80 degrees. Location is not really kept up and you can tell there might be a lot of neighbors (rats) based off of the rat traps on dumplings. Renting a storage unit from Cubesmart Store #0639 14902 N 12th St, Lutz, FL 33549 has cost me thousands of dollars due to an uncontrolled rat infestation. The response from corporate has been frustrating, unproductive, and blatantly ignored. On January 8th, 2020 I rented a storage unit in order to store household items and furniture. On May 20th, 2021 I noticed that rats had infested my unit and had caused an extreme loss to my property. I notified the manager on duty and was informed that this is not covered under the insurance I purchased and they would not be taking any financial responsibility despite their clear neglect. On that same date, I cancelled my lease. Later that evening, I received a "Welcome" email from Cubesmart with two attachments. One of the attachments was a lease agreement. This lease agreement had signatures that were not signed by me. It's apparent to me that the manager forged my signature and initials in order to renew my lease and charge me monthly rent for items left in the storage unit. Frankly, I am absolutely appalled that this company would commit such blatant fraud. The reasonable estimated value for all rent paid and items stored totals $2,260.40. A request for a refund and compensation for damaged items was submitted on May 30, 2021. This is the day I received my first invoice for a storage unit that I abandoned. On June 3rd, 2021 I was contacted by TL Brimhall - District Manager via email. TL Brimhall denied my request for a refund and defended his manager's decision to fraudulently sign a contract in my name in order to continue billing me monthly (at an increased rate) despite me cancelling my initial lease per our agreement. He requested a copy of the invoice for 1 of 2 mattresses that were replaced. TJ Brimhall has not responded after the invoice was provided. It is now June 24th, 2021 and I have not received any further communication from Cubesmart. I'm also still receiving invoices for a storage unit that I do not occupy. Do not rent a storage unit from any Cubesmart facility. Corporate is indifferent and shows no regard for the best interest of their customers. Local managers are unethical and dishonest. Facilities are disheveled.

Check in was OK but the attendant spelled my name wrong even after my license was presented.Insulting. Will see how this goes for $79. I have renters insurance and did not want to pay the extra $12 ,but strong armed into it and having to buy an $18 lock that I could have gotten for $10 elsewhere. I sense my desperation was played upon.I wind up not even putting my stuff in there and demanded a refund because of the very poor disrespectful customer service. Training is needed. Customers pay your salary!! Plus, they have RATS!. Droppings are everywhere. DISGUSTING. ABATE THE RATS!!

Pricing: Bottom Line by the end of my two years I was paying $170.00 per month. Too Expensive. Rat Infestation. I had to trap rats in my unit because of the neighboring unit storing foodstuff in their unit and the displacement of a homeless camp behind the location. My stored items were covered in rat feces. I reported to the manager and they never offered any compensation, cleanup, or discount. I will never use a cube smart again. Back to UHaul, best in the business.

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. I rented out a climate controlled unit and when I went to grab my things I discovered my unit had been infested with rats. There was rat feces and urine all throughout my belongings. Some of the rats chewed on some of my belongings. I brought it up to the manager and he literally said "there's nothing we can do for you"... Beware if you're leaving your belongings here.

This place is clean and security is good but if you get an inside unit upstairs beware. There is only one entrance for like a mile long hallway which my unit is at the very end of it. You have to pass through about 6 door ways... none of which are propped open or have anything to prop it open. So i use my belongings all the way down this hallway to prop open these doors which make the hall that much harder to maneuver. I sprint back and forth and have very heated arguments with the elevator and the dollys as they run from u in the parking lot.. I finally got my trailer unloaded into my unit and it only took 3 hours...

Very affordable, was shocked that I was paying close to double elsewhere for less space. The place does need renovations, it looks worn down and could do with more security measures. The climate controlled storage area is a bit of a drag with all of the doors to get to my unit but overall my experience so far has been pretty decent. Would recommend checking it out.

AVOID!!! I was storing all of my belongings in a climate controlled unit (inside on the 2nd floor) and came back only to find out all of my stuff was destroyed by rats. The manager ended up telling me that someone in a unit near mine had recently complained of rats and when they investigated they found a bag of rice in their unit. Yet they did not notify anyone nearby or call an exterminator to try and control the situation. After paying for a unit for 9 months AND insurance neither one will take responsibility for the total loss I suffered. If you’re thinking about storing your stuff here you’re better off just taking it straight to the dumpster now instead of having to do it when it’s covered in toxic rat feces!

Disappointed with ** FREQUENT RATE INCREASES...** I've been renting a 10 ft. X 10 ft. storage locker at this facility for the last 3 Years and My experiences with the Employees has been Great, but as time goes on so does the Frequency of their RENT INCREASES... When I started Renting I was paying $89/month (w/tax)... Less than 3 Years Later My Rent has worked its' way UP TO: $159/month (w/tax)... I did not previously Write A Review since much like the storage locker - I forget about it... Of Course that's only until I'm Reminded By One Of Their "RATE-CHANGE-NOTICE"/**RENT-INCREASE-NOTICE** Letters which seem to come much more frequently after the second year... Unfortunately I cannot recommend this place for many clients that I have moving to Tampa for an in-determined period of time, or clients that are downsizing & unaware about how long they'll need to store their belongings for... Location Is Convenient Though! ;)

They raise prices on you and do NOT tell you this when you sign up. Rented for 2 yrs. Started paying about 80 bucks and within a few mths it went up and up and up and it ended up costing me 155 a mth for a 10×10. Look else where and ask how often they raise their prices. As a loyal customer we shouldn't have our prices raised. Staff wasnt the nicest either. Only 2 ppl were nice. Sadly John the owner/manager just made you feel like you were bothering him. When you had questions. He was very helpful at first but of course they all are bc they want your service. Once they have it customer service was bad. I loved the women that worked year when I first came in but I don't believe she is there anymore. She was always helpful and kind.

It had the best price in the area I was searching. The outside looks good, but on the inside the drywall was damaged in multiple places. The staff were nice.

The unit was exactly what we needed. The unit was cleaned out and the location is very secure. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place you get your bang for your buck.

If only everyone was like Mr C Jones the world would be a wonderful place. I am 'legally blind' and had to move on short notice. Every storage place closed at 6 PM and you had to come in to the office to secure a unit. My brothers truck was overflowing and we thought we were going to have to triple handle all my stuff. We drove by 'CubeSmart' on the way and there was a person just locking up after helping a prior late customer. C Jones unlocked the office and on his time fixed me up with a unit and lock. Extra KUDOS to you sir. Thanks for giving a damn! Facilities are nice and clean with on-site personel.

Clean facilities and convenient location near the interstate. Always felt safe and secure visiting the property. I had a storage unit there for about 3 years, AC unit- fair prices and great customer service! They even helped me with a table that was too heavy for me to move alone! Great storage spot in North Tampa/Lutz.

The woman who I called initially via the national number, was excellent in giving me every bit of info I needed, & she was very nice. At the Cube Storage at 14902 N. 12th St. I dealt w/ Edilma Rivera, who surpassed every level of excellence & congeniality. She even allowed me to rent the truck on Sunday, a day they don't rent out, I think. I really liked Edilma, & she made me feel very welcome & attended to.
