The amenities are amazing! As long as you’re there in the hours of operation. But why stop operating elevators at 10pm? Why not midnight? Some people work until 8/9pm and then can’t move their belongings. It was annoying and inconveniencing for my code to work to get into the gated area after 10pm, thinking I could go up to my unit, unloaded my car full of heavy boxes, checked both elevators, and then had to repack my car. Not intuitive thinking towards the customer.

The frequently repeated rent rate increases are ridiculous. It is cheaper per sq. foot to rent a larger apartment than to use Cube Smart for more than a month or two because they will bring you in at a low rate, then keep rapidly raising your rent until you move out.

Had to transfer away from Downtown Saint Pete two years ago and had to do it in a rush. I now live across the state from the storage unit but the staff here are absolutely amazing. I left so quickly that I didn’t realize they captured my email incorrectly. Melissa was able to get my information updated which allowed, me after a year of not visiting, to access the app and they showed me all the features of the app. I had also lost my keys and they quickly remedied that issue as well. Great staff here and thank you again Melissa for helping to fix all my issues!

I went into my unit at 5:50 p.m. The office was still open. I put some things in my unit and came back down about 5:00 after 6:00 The office was still open and a worker was standing leaning on the desk. The office door was open and I walked in and asked to have her unlock the men's room so I could use it. She said absolutely not we don't open them after 6:00 p.m. when we close. So my question is why was she still in the office with the lights on leaning over the desk. There's no reason in the world that she couldn't have unlocked the men's room door for 2 minutes for me to use it. Our unit will be canceled this month when it expires. Someone should instruct her on good customer service and bending a little bit when the circumstance requires. I'm 69 years old and I'm diabetic. Having to quickly use a restroom is vital for those with high blood sugar.

After trying to locate one of many storage facilities in the area. I had chose cube smart and I am so glad I did! 1.) It is safe at all times and not located in a sketchy area of town. 2.) The rental process was so easy to maneuver through, it took me no more than 20 minutes via online and I was able to obtain my gate code after payment and went to the locates shortly thereafter to find my new unit clean and a welcome package from management with a friendly informative gesture welcoming me. Overall, I feel appreciated as a customer and this business went above and beyond to make sure all my needs were met. I am thankful to have found this location and look forward to continuing my rental here for long term as how they have demonstrated their great, courteous, and professionalism. Ever since cubesmart bought this location out from Extra space... The prices went up, the staff is different and less friendly and the place isn't as clean. I am noticing lots of maintenance issues. Elevators out/not working often...trolleys torn up. Nothing like paying more and getting less? ??. And they never respond to emails. If you have an issue you physically have to go into the location.

I had to find a storage unit quite quickly. I called in the same day I needed it. The rep over the phone was kind, helpful and had a great sense of humor. We worked everything out. Even gave me s discount. I was to complete the application so I could get into the unit after 6:00. I was advised access until 10:00. Nice climate control snd amazingly clean. At 10:00 we were still loading. It was the second floor so it took longer than anticipating as the elevator most def made the unloading twice as long. All of a sudden the elevator would not allow us to use it. We still had more unloading and we were stuck. I called the manager line. After a few transfers I’m talking to an associate who really had an attitude toward me. I explained we could not use the elevator any longer. She called to get us a new code that said the local manager gave her. The new code didn’t work. I asked what to do and she said come back tomorrow. We had an open unit on the second floor that we could not get to go close and more to unload. We could not come back. These were movers. The attitude began when I said someone has to help us. I told her I wasn’t aware the elevator would do this at 10. Then all she wanted was the name of the person who booked it. It was sad. Then we realized the code worked but doesn’t allow you to go to the second floor but it will allow you to go to the third floor. Odd. She said to go to the 3rd floor and go down the stairs to the second. Right! Dolly and heavy boxes! I asked if someone could come help us. She said no. I told her she’s not helping us. She replied that’s she’s walked me thru everything this entire time. She said she’s done everything and nothing more to do. We were stuck. The conversation ended. So one of the movers figured out to go to the third floor with items, have someone at the second floor call the elevator to the second floor. It worked. We did that the rest of the night. We had to figure that out without help from an employee. Because of all this, we did not leave the unit until 1:00 am.

Honestly I’d love to give them zero stars, but this apparently isn’t an option. I first purchased a 10x10 unit just before the pandemic when I had to unfortunately close my art studio due to health issues that I had to start aggressive home health care for. Obviously having health issues and not being able to work, I could only afford a small space. My original agreement was 110$ plus insurance. Then cubesmart took over in January and raised rates automatically 75$ a month, which they notified us of. We weren’t happy, but couldn’t move our things and didn’t see the new rates in my email and since they only have to notify and of you don’t change it’s considered automatically accepting the new rate. Now, only 5 months after that contract was sent out, they’ve raised my monthly rent another 100$ totaling 310$ WITHOUT NOTICE. They’re in violation of their own contract just hoping people can’t move their items out quick enough to contest the prices. This is absolutely shady business practice. I’ll have to find help moving my items before the next bill because I can’t move the items myself. This is absolutely taking advantage of and exploiting people like me. Do NOT use this storage company!

Greg is an absolute lifesaver! My partner and I have stored our things with Extra space for several months now, no issues ever. The facility is spotless and the best storage facility we have ever stored at. Greg went above and beyond by agreeing to grant access to our unit as we could not be present due to being in London, U.K. which enabled us to have our belongings shipped back home, otherwise we would of been really stuck. Thank you so much Greg, it's so refreshing to have someone that actually cares and goes out of their way to help you!

They will raise your price with in a short period of time. They do not care how long you have been a valuable customer. They are looking for you to turn over and leave so they can increase prices. There are plenty of storage units to use. I don’t recommend these guys!

I’ve been using this facility since it opened. The management has really taken a nose dive. It’s dirty all over the facility. Arely are there carts available as they sre scattered all over the facility. I’m moving to another facility.

Very nice storage facility! The common areas and restrooms are usually very tidy. My only criticism is that the driveway through the building could use a blower ran through it more often than what they have been doing it.

I can sum it up in one word my experience with your company AWESOME!! It was because of one simple reason. The manager I dealt with RYAN!!! From his first phone call to me he was knowledgeable, pleasant, very respectful and answered all my questions. Today he called me to advise me that he had one unit left that I needed so we could lock it in today. Truly great. We locked up the unit and Ryan walked me through everything and made it very simple. Last but not least he offered me coverage on my property with zero deductible. Extra Space you have a GEM in Ryan as the manager of that facility and on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best Ryan gets an 11!! KEVIN LOPRESTI

DONT USE THIS PLACE!! They get you with the free month but they have increased their prices about $70 in less than a year. I started at $112 and now they want to charge almost 200. They are sketchy, and the facilities are not nice nor clean. Already filing a complain with BBB and you’ll see Im not alone. Wish someone had told me this. Not worth the price. Keep looking.

This ExtraSpace storage location is great! The manager was super friendly and helpful. This was my first time ever renting a storage unit and he explained it all very thoroughly and answered all of my questions. They showed me exactly where my unit was located in person, not on a map with arrows, and how to get to it exactly. Then also demonstrated how to unlock the special lock. It’s clean and temperature controlled. I would definitely recommend this location to anybody in the area looking for a storage unit! Also a plus is definitely all of the dollies that are available for use at any time.

Love everything about this place, except the main exit gate has been broken and up for over 30 days. Management says they are waiting for the damaging party's insurance payment... really?!!!... so in the meantime, I as an older man I am not secure? Just wrong. Easy Space should be paying immediately for the repair and assessing the damaging party, rather than putting us and our contents at risk.

The customer service from all members, from call center representative to store representative has been nothing but impeccable. I also love the cleanliness of the building and most importantly the utility carts, which allows for a faster and more efficient move. I've used 5 different Extra Space storage facilities and Joe at this one is among the best! While I didn't keep my storage unit for long (less than 1 month), he checked me in safely into a clean unit, and when I was finished with the unit, he checked me out quickly without pressure. 5 stars? It should be 6 stars because Joe was awesome! Also, this is the CLEANEST and most sanitary storage facility I've ever seen in Florida.

I was worried about finding affordable storage here in downtown St.Pete, but was delighted to find some deals online from them. I made my reservations and went to the store to check out the unit. I was so stressed about the size, and I didn't know if it would be good enough. I got there and was delighted to meet the store manager, Joe. He was so friendly and helpful. Connor and Joe were extremely helpful setting up our storage rental. This is a very clean and secure business; we were very impressed! Code needed to get in at the main gate and then into the elevator-very secure. Covered parking for unloading, and lots of carts available to haul your stuff to your unit. As a nice touch, there is even music piped in! Good bright lighting in storage area. Bathrooms available and are clean; you need to use your code to access them too. We are most impressed, and you will be too!

The elevator is always broken.You can't get anyone to answer a phone after hours even when you call the help line they tell you to call back during regular hours. I lost a days pay because I didn't have access to my unit. Joe said if I have him a 5 star rating he would give me a months free rent. I waited a month and now he is saying he never said that. I am the owner operator of 2 small businesses if I treated my clients with such lack of integrity I would have been out of business long ago. I will have to take my business elsewhere.

Doing a Google search I found this brand new storage place called “extra space storage“. They listen to my story and they made me a reservation immediately on the spot, I ended up getting a 10 x 25 space right off of the elevator for less money than the U-Haul storage space was charging me for a 6 x 10 space ! In addition the “extra space storage“ place has a huge building and you can drive into the center of it or you are protected from all of the elements as well as the heat. The U-Haul place makes you park outside… Not sure what you do if it’s pouring and windy out ! The store manager, Joe, took care of me when I arrived at extra space storage, showing me multiple different units so I could pick what works best for me. He let the movers start unloading and putting the stuff in the unit immediately even before I gave him my credit card or signed any documents! I highly recommend Extra Space Storage. It’s a brand new place the building is huge, it’s clean and well air-conditioned, the units are easy to access , it is in a much better part of town where you won’t have to worry about your stuff getting stolen and Joe the manager is awesome ! Update 1/24/20: Joe retired and was replaced by Kyle who seems to have the same work ethic as Joe. Kyle has been wonderful always calls me backIf I have a question , and has been very flexible during my cleaning out faze. Once again I highly recommend this place!

Update: Make sure whatever you pay is EXACTLY what it should be because you will get the run around trying to get a refund from these guys. I have waited on my refund since Nov. 2018 and I have yet to receive it. I have heard too many different answers/excuses. First I was told it's going directly back to my card, then it was going to be a credit on my next month's charge, then I was told it was mailed out on the 20th of Dec. 2018, then I was told it's being processed, now they are telling me it was sent out on Dec. 29th and I should receive it in the mail to my Po Box. When you ask for someone in corporate they tell you they only email them. Which they have done twice and I still haven't received my refund nor has corporate contact me to resolve this issue. I WILL no longer use Extra Space Storage after this headache. No one seems to remember what they say to you a few days ago and their notes reflect what they need to cover their own a**, even if it's NOT the exact same thing they told you. If I'm expected to pay my bill on time, I expect all refunds to be received in a timely manner as well. No longer 5 stars from me. So far so good! I just moved my things into one of the storage units on Thursday but this particular one is not working for me. All of the staff has been very nice and I am so glad I had the chance to meet Hera yesterday!! From the minute I called to the moment I came into the office, she was wonderful, very pleasant, friendly and a bubbly personality. Hera is highly knowledgeable of her job and goes above and beyond for what she can do to accommodate your needs! She helped me transition over to a more suitable storage for my needs!! Hera is the real MVP in my book!! I also love the cleanliness and bright colors of the facility. The 24 hour surveillance cameras and gated access makes me feel comfortable when I'm coming and going.

I highly recommended this storage facility. It’s convenient to get in and out of, air-conditioned, and the first month is free! Joe the manager was very helpful and really went above and beyond to accommodate us when I realized we had rented too small of a unit.

This place was the best experience I've ever had with a storage unit. Prices were perfect compared to the rest especially at a discounted low move in rates. I don't mean that management was very polite and the units were drive up accessible with an overhead to block the Sun which I've never seen before. Great storage facility!! Just got my unit and the staff there are so friendly and helpful, great personalities. Both Ryan and Joe were eager to help me find the right spot. Ryan took the time to actually show me all available options which is amazing considering most places don't have the energetic staff to actually show you around. The facility itself is clean, modernized, secure, and in a great location. Also, they had the best prices in town for the size of unit I was looking for. Free first month was an extra bonus!
