CubeSmart facilities manager, Michelle, ALWAYS takes care of me and my concerns. I have been renting storage there for several years. Through unfortunate fire on site and banking errors, she is absolutely professional and geared toward solving challenges. I recently rented my third space from her. Couldn't be happier. This storage place has got to be the absolute worst I would give them negative stars if I could! I obtained a storage unit Friday and by Saturday had a termination of lease letter taped to the unit ( so what if my crazy ex husband was still alive and able to hurt me, he would know where I would be since they posted it on the outside of the unit with my full name?? pretty sure Casa with have a field day with that one! Luckily he's not around and my current hubby would never let anything happen to me anyways but it's a horrible unsafe practice take it for someone who lives it!) bigger issue is you had no problem taking my money for admin fees and locks and whatever else sixty something dollars after the first month free, and you can't use the lock you already have even more insane to me! I'm assuming someone monitors the Google reviews and will be more than happy to give me a full refund since you told me to be out 24 hours after I rented the unit which I emptied right away thank God for the good people at extra space on 22nd Ave N in St Petersburg who where more than happy to help and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a space. Beware of cube smart on 22nd Ave N in St Petersburg Cube smart you really need to do better let me know when my refund is ready!

Gave me an eviction for staying after 10.. They only .gave me 11 days to move everything or the keep it an charge.me. hired a few guys an A truck on my one day off. They locked my code out,put another lock on my unit,not allowing me to get my tools. (They cut the lights also) They definitely have done this before. Seem like up to no good. Seen alot of people unit getting notice as they are full and now want me to pay double for half the size.... taking advantage of people in tuff spots is just bad. Thanks God I have the means to get my tools. MAY HAVE LOST EVERYTHING. . MANY OTHER OPTIONS. .. BEEN SCAMMED BY THESE TWO, Contact me . THEY HAVE already FILED ALREADY!!! We are all God's people. These have to be paid for reviews to have 4.4 stars. I obtained a unit in 2022 for $330. When I cleared out that unit today, my final month cost me $630 (not including $118 late fee). A 100% increase in rent — in a matter of 18 months — and this is not a nice location. The unit was dark and dirty. Plus, my card was always magically declined resulting in $118 late fee. Every month. My final bill was $750 — for one month. Units bigger than the one I had can be found all over for $250-300, so avoid this place.

Within a week of my signing the lease a ELECTRICAL FIRE happened in the facility making my unit basically inaccessible for 3 weeks and my climate controlled unit not climate controlled for over 3 weeks. Then to add insult to injury less than 5 months after signing my lease they increased my rent by almost $50. Then when I explained how ridiculous the situation was the facility Manager told me “If you can’t afford the increase maybe you don’t need a storage unit.” The regional manager apologized, but it just was too much for having a storage unit with them for less than 6 months.

Had a good experience signing up for a storage unit online, and arriving at the location and was able to move stuff right in. Didn’t even have to speak to anyone until returning the temporary lock at the office. Smooth, straight forward process. I think I only complaint would be that the pricing is not fully straight forward until you are signing up… there is an admin fee, taxes, and you are required to purchase the padlock they sell. So The initial cost upfront was higher than expected, and the monthly cost was about $10 higher than what I thought. Overall I would go with this company again, like I said the signup process was smooth and straightforward.

They kicked me out before my first month was even up after I payed for a full month they kicked me out 2 1/2 weeks to 3. Weeks later for rats chewing a whole in a five gallon pale of paint and it leaked out in the storage an by the door. They did not give me a warning or anything just evicted me after moving all of my stuff in there an filling the 10x20 unit up. So not only did I pay for a whole month and only get a lil over half of month storage I had to pay for another U-Haul to move my stuff again along with another administration charge an all that on a new storage. This place is trashy an I do not recommend this place to anyone and also they have a lot of rats that are almost the size of a cat that are not scared of humans("one of them ran at me”)

I liked the fact that I was able to find the RIGHT unit within the building and that it was air conditioned. I DISLIKED the rent increases when I personally felt like it wasn't worth it. I vacated after being a client for well over a year due to the facility having a fire and my unit being somewhat affected. My storage bill is one bill I will NOT miss.

Will tell you to go online to make the appointment and when you call back to tell them it’s not working and you’d like to just pay over the phone like you said the first time, they’ll refuse to answer the phone. Even when you call the customer support line and they patch you through to the store. Bad customer service-I actually have to edit my review. Even worse customer service when I finally got in touch with someone after 4 hours, they said they can’t even do anything of what the other people on the phone said. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHATS GOING ON!

Horrible place! They had rats and we told them from the first time there was any sign of them and nothing was done and it got worse! Some of the staff were just horribly rude and treated us like kids when they called us ! I believe it was the manager ( not sure though)I heard say they ain’t going to babysit us when she thought she was disconnected when she called because someone left a fridge in front of our unit they were supposed to haul off ,like they couldn’t dispose of it ,or even be nice about the situation .and we couldn’t move it at the time , cause husband had a toe removed and was in the hospital and got rude and charged daily fees to where we lost our storage of memories and all . They charge outrageous fees now for storage rental especially when it’s rat infested !!!

They had a fire. Didn't bother to respond to my inquiries as to if my Unit was involved, as I was out of town. Not only did I have to move into (and be charged more) for a bigger unit, I also had to move to an outside (vs inside unit). Not what I signed up for when I got this unit less than 2 mos ago. Terrible customer service. Should have been comped the difference, especially as I wanted my things to NOT be directly in an outside unit (temperature sensitive items). Especially as I learn that there is a huge rat infestation.

I only needed my unit for a month, I was able to book online and access my unit same day. They provided a lock which was great because I didn’t have my own and needed to move items into my unit that day. I found it very clean, and well lit which is important for me to feel safe at night. Today I went in to cancel my service and Irma was so sweet. She chatted with me as we went to close up my unit and I will gladly recommend the St Pete location to anyone. She took care of me and I was out of there in less than 10 mins. Hassle free.

Their leases are unreasonable. I gave 30 day notice but was not allowed to prorate the last month's rent even AFTER the 30 days were over. So I was charged a whole month even though my stuff remained there for only a few days of that billing cycle and even though I gave OVER 30 days notice prior to moving out.

How is a customer with CubeSmart for almost 2 years, there was a constant increase in price, recently I made a decision to move some big items out of my unit, had a helper with me that had a truck also a flatbed trailer, he had pulled up to the gate to enter the facility with me, the customer and Michelle who is an employee, that has been there for a while had exited the facility and proceeded to become aggressive and almost volatile because my helper was waiting to go through the gate and pounding on his truck, and beating on it with her hands, and me being behind them immediately came to my vehicle, and stuck her head right in my window asking who this person is, inquiring if it's my relative. So a week later I have now since moved my belongings out of there and went to a facility where the customer service is a little bit more calmer.

I am a registered nurse. When COVID hit, I packed up my personal belongings and worked the front lines as an ICU Nurse. I returned between contacts to check on my belongings to find this. I lost over $30,000.00 of personal belongings due to rat infestation, urine and feces. The rats ate through clothes, designer shoes and bags, they ate through Rubbermaid totes, all my cleaning products leaked out and ruined my wall art, home decor, etc. Unfortunately, this location in Saint Petersburg, Florida has done nothing to make things right. I am highly disappointed. When I reserved the unit, CubeSmart offered insurance. Come to find out, there is a clause in fine print stating if damages are a result of rodents, coverage does not apply. Please be careful. This location is highly infested with rodents and the customer service is fraudulent.

I want to warn everyone who has a rental unit at this location or any CubeSmart. CHECK YOUR RENTAL AGREEMENT AND YOUR PAPERWORK THAT HAS THE INSURANCE INFO. They are purposefully and intentionally misspelling your names on the paperwork. The only logical reason I could come up with is to either avoid having to pay out for insurance in the case that your property is damaged or stolen, or even more nefarious to be able to steal your property themselves. I spent 30 mins. trying to get the woman at the counter to change my name on the paperwork to my correct name. She claimed she didn't know how to do it, when she is the one who interned the incorrect name into the system in the first place. After I assured her that I wasn't going anywhere until I had the paperwork with the insurance policy with my correct name, she jumped through some more hoops and pulled out some other paperwork to have me sign. She got on the phone and supposedly called someone to find out how to change the name in the system when she is the one who entered it into the system in the first place. After waiting another 10 mins for her to figure this out, I told her I was calling corporate and that I was reporting her, and what do you know she somehow magically figured it out and gave me what I was asking for. This place and these people are NOT to be trusted. CHECK YOUR PAPERWORK!!! MISPELLED NAMES EQUAL NO INSURANCE CLAIMS!!!

Great place for storage with a gate, unique entry passcodes for each renter, various sizes of units, either inside climate controlled or outside without a/c or heat. Pricing is very competitive and insurance on your unit and it's items is available for an additional and reasonable cost. Michelle D. is great and was more than helpful to make a change to my account that I set up online. She knew exactly how to make everything the way I decided I needed after I arrived. *Thank you!* I would definitely recommend this location for storage unit needs. There are only two things I wish were different but I understand the need for both: *You must purchase a disc lock (keyed, x2) from them at the time of rental at $17.99. that is considerably higher priced than other stores have the same types of locks but I guess they trust the brand to keep anything from happening on their property. *Property access is 6am to 10pm. I'm sure this is for security and safety reasons but I would prefer a unit to be accessible 24 hours a day.

Very disappointed with recent service at this location. I am a faithful autopay customer for 3+ years. I am now paying almost double the amount of my original aggrement because of their constant increases , but that's not even why I'm upset. The security code on my Credit card recently changed so my auto payment didn't go through. The lady who called to alert me said that she could not take the updated security code over the phone and that I needed come into the office?! I spoke with another rep who said I could update my payment online... I created an online account and the system refused to accept my information or allow me to pay. I decided to break " quarantine" and drive 2 hrs to the office. Because I am now 8 days late for payment, I was told there is a $20 late fee and that it will not be removed. I should have called back and updated over the phone?!? I lost my job recently like many people have and I think it's almost criminal to treat your longstanding customers that way.

You will bring bed bugs into your home if you store things at this facility. This is an edit to a previous good review because recently I had a bed bug infestation at my home. Due to COVID no one other than myself has been in my home and the only variable from my total isolation recently is six weeks ago when I closed out my storage unit at this facility and brought the stored items into my home. Within a month I had a serious bed bug infestation that has cost me a lot of time, trauma and money to correct. Do not rent from this location unless you don't mind bed bugs. It's been an absolute nightmare. You must bag, treat and wash everything you own in every closet and every drawer in order to successfully eliminate bed bugs. It's horrible.

This morning I saw an ad for CubeSmart on Google, and reserved space on line. Lori called me immediately and I made arrangements to go see it. The facility is super clean, and Lori had already picked out a unit based on what I had told her about my needs. She was super helpful and able to answer all my questions. Making the reservation in no way obligated me to rent the unit, and there is no lease. Renting is month to month. Feel very lucky to have come across the ad this morning. This location of Cubesmart bought out the previous storage facility and has drastically gone down in quality of service and property management is run by people who can't problem solve anything. I sincerely recommend avoiding this location, but don't doubt that cubesmart as a whole is just as bad considering i called customer service and was given zero help there either. All I needed was my gate code, they refused to look up my id information. it's ridiculous, after 5 years there I am done. Seriously this place is ridiculous mismanaged. Avoid it at all costs.

I needed to rent a unit to store belongings while my house was being built. From the first day until the day I moved out (one year) Michelle and Irma were very friendly and helpful. Their friendliness made the whole experience less stressful.

TERRIBLE! If I could give them 0 stars, I would. They raised my rates multiple times while I was DEPLOYED. Don't let their low intro rates fool you - they raised them on me in exactly 6 months!! Absolutely awful customer service. After complaining about the rate hikes they promised to freeze my rates, but guess what - they didn't! Learn from my mistake and stay away!

Due to a career change I needed to relocate my office. Totally my fault, I waited until the last moment to pack and move. I packed everything and threw it into the back of my pickup. Heavy rain was on the way and with just a few minutes to find a dry space CubeSmart came to my rescue. The manager did everything possible to expedite the registration process. She did everything possible to make sure I could empty my truck before the rain started.100% blessing experience. 100% satisfied.

I have to take exception to the great customer service! Mine has been terrible and the only time I was contacted by Michelle or Tom was for a courtesy call when payment was due. They didn't do anything to fix my situation and basically inferred that I was making it all up. My friend forgot his ID so I let them put the unit in my name. I was told it was easy to change it over. The following Saturday we both came in and gave all of our information and shared identification. The guy said he would take care of the paperwork later. For months I would get email notifications. Finally I called to say I didn't want my email or my number on the account, that it wasn't mine and I didn't own anything in the storage unit. They said we had to come in again and do it all over because they didn't have any record of us coming in the first time and that I was the official owner of the unit. Then, I was on my way to meet my friend there and he was told not to bother because "she didn't know how to do it." How many times do I need to go there for CubeSmart to get it done right? They don't want to help make it right, they just want their money from wherever they can get it and they don't care about anything else. I wouldn't trust a thing they say to you. Michelle told me I shouldn't have put my name on the unit in the first place and that I now have to take responsibility for it. I say she needs to be more concerned with doing a better job managing the staff that couldn't get this right from the get go, along with the lack of a caring attitude at CubeSmart , than pointing a finger at me.

The staff/ associate was so kind and was able to find me the perfect unit to store my belongings. She made sure I was happy with everything and then double checked my entrance code before leaving for the day, even though I showed up just 30 minutes prior to closing time. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my experience.

The website "discount" or "savings" rate is really misleading. I can rent a unit for the summer for my 25% discount rate of $59.25 each month. Problem is CUBESMART adds RIDICULOUS fees. First off a $24 administration fee. Hello smart business people! A rental fee is what should be charged to rent a unit. Your silly administration fee is simply stealing. Secondly, I am required by CUBESMART to insure my own belongings by paying a more ridiculous amount (20% of my rental) every month to "GREAT AMERICAN INSURANCE SCAM". In their own fine print, it states this monthly charge also includes a monthly--wait for it--administration fee of over $10 a month to CUBESMART. This is a fee for insuring my own goods?? Why should I pay you rent then? TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE!!

This was a great place to leave my RV while I took a cruise. They had a large space to park my RV. The staff was very helpful. One of my tires had a slow leak so they left a voicemail and an email for me so that I would know about it before I got back. It was easy to use the code to get in and out of the gate. Everything went well.
