Everyone one I have spoke to just tell me that's a legal department. And that if I want to keep the storage unit keep paying. Been with them for a while. Best way to get your value. Use their truck, if you plan on keeping a unit after you move. Waiting a month is cheaper. The rates are dropped. However after 3 or so months the rates go up automatically. The units are dope they are two levels with stairs. So even those with hard times if you chose to live there get two units... And there are no public bathrooms. The lots are supervised during off hours also which is a plus if you use the 24hr access.

Terrible Company Practices! Cube Smart held the payments I made electronically through my bank so that late fees could be applied and my monthly rent could be increased for late payment. Then Cube Smart said I was delinquent and put a lien on my property and said I had a few days to pay over $800 or they would auction my belongings off. When I went into the office to pay, they gave me checks that were sent to Cube Smart from my bank for my account. The checks were for $400! The amount that would have prevented me from becoming "delinquent". RUN FROM THIS COMPANY! Zero stars given! The same amount of care they gave me and my belongings...ZERO! One star is highlighted because it won't post w/o it. Smh...

I've renting a unit from this facility for a couple of years now and some months ago I noticed rats/mice activity in it. I notified a staff member about it and they stated that the ONLY option for a resolve was to have my belongings relocated to another unit, with not guarantee that the next unit was gonna be free of rats. First came the droppings, which prompted me to lay traps and glue traps. Initially there were no effects, but upon returning to the unit last night, the main glue trap had a total of 6 specimens glued to it dead and bloodied from being cannibalize by other rats. If there's that amount of specimens in my unit, imagine the scope of the rat population throughout the facility. Called the general toll free number and was told that an area manager was gonna give me a call back in 2-3 days. I proceeded to call the local office and the attendant Michael, nonchalantly stated that there was NOTHING they could do to remedy the situation but to relocate the items to another unit... no sorry for the inconvenience, no offer for compensation for items damaged, moving items out, no pest control, no clean up or sanitizing of my belongings, NOTHING. He even went as far as saying that rats were a problem in ALL of the storage units in the city, which is a total overstatement(i.e.- lie). Needless to say, their utter lack of concern and duty is making me take my belongings and get the hell out of this and any CubeSmart locations or affiliates. Moving them to a well maintained and run location with no presence of rats. Please be aware of what you and your property be potentially put thru when renting from CubeSmart.

Do not use this place for a temperature controlled unit!!!! The air barely blew through the vent and it was well above 80 degrees in my unit, there was roaches alive and dead, rat droppings everywhere, some of my items were damaged from the excessive heat over the years, and the insulation was always falling out of the ceiling onto my things on the upper level. Go somewhere else and save your money from them constantly raising the prices as well. They also charged me for the next month’s rent even though I was moved out in time and called to tell them I was moving out (they even said they would put a note on my file that I was moving out). So glad to be out of this place.

This is a long one. It all started on July 11th and it’s now August 11th (claim still pending). As I was doing the ppwk for my storage unit, my Dad calls out of the blue and so I took the call. This annoyed the sales agent at the Decatur, GA location. He kept repeating “I have stuff to do.” He chose to charge me the monthly insurance when I was getting the proof of my insurance and then the call came in. After a few minutes of processing the disrespect from the lack of customer service, I chose to abandon the unit and submit a claim online to get a refund, since he had stuff to do. As the process goes, someone will reach out in 48-hours which should be the district manager, George. He always called and left voice messages. When I called corporate, I told them repeatedly that RoboKiller is installed on my phone and to let the DM know. That was ignored and just kept leaving voicemails. Then when I call back, I have to leave a voicemail. It’s been a month of playing phone tag!!! It’s apparent to me that the solution of a refund is not a high enough priority. So maybe leaving this review will somehow get their attention. If anyone has ideas on how I can resolve, please let me know. Thank you.

There were rats in my unit. I did NOT have any food in my unit yet the rats tore through bags, pooped and peed all over everything and what’s more disappointing is that the manager assured me before moving in that I would not have to worry about pests. It was absolutely disgusting to see!

When is this location open?? I’ve came by multiple times for the last several months to make a payment during the business hours they have listed online and they’ve been closed in the middle of the day. I don’t know who’s managing the place but it seems they open and closed it whenever they feel like it. If your not going to go by the hours listed online then you need to update your days and times that your actually open.

Also, before moving in, please put some roach powder down because your neighbors will be nasty and you will have roaches and rats in your things if not. Bought unit at auction, busy at work all day, took off an hr early so i could leave my house am hr and half away and get there before they close. I CALL when I'm about to leave, they ask me my name, i tell them, they say ok, we will see you at 6. Get there, looking for paperwork, i tell them the unit, oh that person paid for it earlier today. Didn't i just call you? Yes but we were a little busy. But you will get refunded. What? Of course I'm going to be refunded, what about my gas and time? No ownership of the lack of consideration nor any true apology. And there was 2 people working there, no customers. So even if they told me one thing, they should've checked since i called, and called me back once they noticed was sold. Horrible! And let someone from there reply with an excuse.

The online registration is great but buyer beware. You need to see a picture of the space. I ordered a 8x20 space and it's a hole in the wall that maybe 8 ft deep and go up 20 ft up not wide not deep yes. You have to go up some stairs to The loft to put stuff in. I'm mobility challenge so I can't even go to my storage alone to get stuff out and now everything is piled on top of each other instead of around the walls like I plan to do. I'm definitely not happy with the situation. But, I had to move my stuff I was already there. Please inspect a spot before you pay for it.

My family never had a problem with thefts. We had possessions there for years and everything was intact when we got it out. Aside from dust and a few cobwebs and critters, but if you care that much about what you're putting in storage you should get a climate-controlled unit or rethink storage all together. People rarely get their stuff back once it goes in, so only if it's absolutely necessary. Plus, if it sits there too long, you may not even want the stuff any longer moreso it may be outdated by the time you get to it or back to it. Your things have whatever value you place in them. CubeSmart is great if you have to!

10yr costumer. My unit gets broken into my property was take . And insurance hasn't done anything yet to compensate me for theft of my property. And cubesmart rat problem destroyed most of my things. But nothing could be done about it because their insurance doesn't cover damage done by rats. But still I haven't been compensated for the the theft of my dirt bike. Power tools where taken also but I didn't realize it until over a month or two later. So I had to consider them a loss.

I was paying $183 for a unit that is currently renting for $63.50. DO NOT plan to stay more than 8 mo.- 1 year. My unit was 8x20. $183! It is great for short-term, but if you stay longer, they will take advantage of you. When you get your very first rate increase, start making exit plans.

It was weird to start; when I pulled up with a 16 ft Penske with my stuff, the lady working said her systems were down and she could only take cash for new rentals. So, I had to leave and go get cash at an atm then come back to find a unit that had a loft. The loft really should be retractable considering that, with a friend that is 5’8” 140 lb man even he narrowly could squeeze into the unit through the loft. The ergonomics of the unit is weird and made it difficult to take advantage of the depth of the unit. Overall, they could withstand a few adjustments.

I had my unit for the past 4 years. A little over 6 months ago we started see rat droppings. Some of our plastic inexpensive items were chewed threw and the unit began to smell. My husband and I decided to move. We spoke to a few other tenants on the same building and they too had problems with rats. My husband spoke to the property manager and we were told they would get the problem taken care of and that we would receive a discount for our trouble. Instead a month later we get a card in the mail that our rent is going up. This is my 2nd review addressing the same problem, and somehow my other review didn’t make the cut and wasn’t posted. Last week while consolidating, trashing and repacking the items were going to keep, we started seeing a elderly lady there, that we believe was living there. Earlier this week someone, a female who works in the office confirmed that at least 7 people are living in those units. I’m not telling anyone not to rent from them because for the 1st two years it was fine, then the rent started increasing then the rat problem began and only only got worse and worse. Thank God we finally finished moving out today and we are DONE!!!!

Excellent customer service!! These folks know how to take Care of business and pleasantly. Units are clean and dry upon move in, good shingled roof to avoid leaks, gate code in and out for added security, nice wide rows for trucks to fit, and plenty of units. Also a plus it's on a nice quiet street! So far everything has been safe, secure, and dry. In stocking it the movers did a great job putting boxes up top nearly and one large items were in miscellaneous items were easily put around and the empty spaces to further secure in l stacked items.

They charge my bank account twice and 2 of her employees admit to the mistake. One payment was reversed but the other payment was never applied to my account. She refused to take my payment today and said I was behind on the account. I showed her proof that I paid thru my online banking and she stated she needed a certified copy. so I drove over an hour to go to my bank to get proof of the money being withdrew by her company. She said it wasn't good enough. Also my rate went up this month with no notice. Please don't do business with this company they will take your money and all your things.

Ms. Wilma was very nice and welcoming. She provided the type of customer service that has become rare in this day and age. I like the loft type design for the storage which helps to separate items that I don't need to search through often from the items that will be in and out.

My experience at CubeSmart when I moved in was amazing. Wilma is AWESOME. She meticulously went through the contract and facility with me. She kept me smiling through the process and made me feel extremely welcomed. And when I had a problem applying my lock, the older gentleman came to aide within minutes of me calling the front desk. In addition to the amazing customer service that I received, the facility is very well maintained. It was very clean, and I did not see any bugs. I was totally impressed. (Prior to bringing my belongings to CubeSmart, I was renting at another popular facility and there were so many spiders in the unit I felt like they should have paid my monthly bill. On top of that the customer service there was sub par.) At CubeSmart I selected a small unit, but the amount of space I received was surprising. I had no idea there was going to be an up and downstairs in the unit. The unit space was surely not as small as I thought and I was very happy to have the additional space. I would HIGHLY recommend CubeSmart (Decatur). Thank you Wilma, you are the BEST! :o)

My experience with the office staff was fabulous! My only other comment is that I would have liked to know ahead of time to bring my own locks since that was required on the day of doing the paperwork. This was not known to me and I had to buy their locks. I highly recommend this location.
