Takeaway: this place kinda sucks, but it is what it is. If you have other options, pay the few extra dollars to avoid the hassle. Moved to this storage unit for it's convenient location to my apartment. I got a 10x10 unit indoors for the same price as my outdoor 5x7 unit in the burbs. Got tired of trying to defrost my locks or letting the weather determine when I could access my stuff. Pros: - Promo pricing for first few months - Indoors - Drive up garage near elevators Cons: -Storage units are on 2nd floor of a building full of art studios and event spaces (a lot of non-storage visitors can go through your stuff if left unattended between trips up the elevator; hasn't happened to me, but it is something I plan around). - Small parking lot for a building that can hold hundreds of people. - Did not disclose that the price signed on the contract was promotional or when the promo period expires (but as usual, they can change the price whenever they want with 30 days notice) - Only space for one or two cars (or one moving truck) in the garage - with a massive pillar that will only allow smaller cars to use 2nd space. - Only have 2 small, semi-broken flatbed dollies (best to bring your own) - They claimed to have sent a certified letter to my address notifying me of the price increase, but I never received it. They couldn't provide proof that it was delivered either. I called the office to ask for a digital copy of it and they made a big fuss before finally sending it to me. All other docs are emailed to my account but they said they have to mail the letter certified by law (but won't agree to ALSO email the letter, "because that's the law..." that you can't send both?) - The person managing the office told me that it's normal to see price increases at least once a year, but not to exceed every 4-6 months...

I've been to a few storages before and I believe this one is the nicest. I like that I have access late after hours any day of the week. In Chicago, it is rare to receive quality customer service; However, the Customer service provided by Tiffany was impeccable! She's a true gem.

They raised my monthly rate by 60% shortly after signing up. They did this despite having signed a contract that locked my rate in at a lower rate. When I called for an explanation, they said they would look into it and get back to me but never did.

My move in process was absolutely painless. I reserved, registered, and paid online. Showed up and found my storage room clean, with a welcome bag that included my lock and details. This location is by far the best one I've used to date. Edward and Tiffany are always helpful, engaging, informative and service oriented. Only Chic-fil-a is offering the kindness these two give you. It is this location and those people that make me want to refer folks to THIS CubeSmart location.

The good: * Clean storage area * Safe entrance The bad: * Got a massive price hike 6 months into the lease with very short notice (rate more than doubled) * Elevators are quite hard to operate. The storage floors are mixed with other commercial floors... It will take a long time before you actually get to your storage. Overall not recommended. We switched to another company.

The facility is clean and well maintained. It is well lit and I feel safe going to my storage unit at any time during the hours of availability. Tiffany and Edward in the office are absolutely wonderful! They know the job well, are courteous and professional. The only thing I would say was a disappointment is that due to the location being in a building with other businesses, many time the carts provided to assist Cubesmart customers with moving were unavailable after Cubesmart office hours.

I want to start this review by sending a HUGE THANK YOU to Tiffany! She helped make the already stressful event of moving, much easier and helped ease my worries regarding my belongings. This was the third storage spot I checked out on that particular day. I was nowhere near close to being happy with the first two and thought I'd be doomed to have to pick a mediocre place to store my things. That being said, I was immediately impressed with the cleanliness of the CubeSmart office when I walked in. It was clean and it smelled nice in there. The best part is, I was immediately and kindly greeted with a warm smile! At no point throughout the entire process did I feel like I was bothering Tiffany with my questions and concerns, nor did I feel pressured to rent one of their storage units. She was even willing to give me a tour of the unit I was interested in and because of that, I realized that the initial size I thought I needed was way too small!! So that definitely saved me a headache. The monthly fee is also pretty affordable. The security of the building and units is legit as well. The storage units themselves also smelled clean! There was no mildew or "old" smell at all. No garbage on the floors, nada! Go check it out for yourself :)

Tiffany and Edward were comprehensive, personable, and took care of all of my needs yesterday when I responded to an ad for what turned out to be the best possible offer in the city for me as far as getting started in a new, climate-controlled and generously-priced storage unit in the wake of my previous storage facility doubling my rent, which I learned about yesterday morning. I like the price, I very much like the facility and it’s amenities (washroom access outside of office hours), and I very much appreciate the top-quality customer care relationships. I feel very well taken care of.

The location I went to on 35th was an amazing 1st time and it was all to Tiffany. This being my first time ever putting items in storage I had no clue how it works. Thanks to Tiffany everything was so easy and quick she even took the time to show us exactly where to go, how to use every resource available and even got to see the unit before we settled. I work as a mover and this is the worst facility in Chicago. Only because it’s not just storage but other businesses are here and it creates a nightmare at the loading dock. You will wait forever and people will block you in. My storage is here and getting in and out is awful.

This particular Cube Smart in Chicago had other businesses in the building. I felt more safe entering this facility as there was constant activity and I didn't feel ALONE in the huge building. Also, the staff was extremely helpful.

I was extremely frustrated with trying to access the elevator to get to my unit, the code didn’t work so I’d have to go to the 5th floor then press 4. I spent at least an hour dealing with the elevator trying to move things in. I called customer service to ask for help and they called the manager. She stated that when you check in online for the 4th floor it always causes problems for the customer. So if you know this why not correct the issue for future customers. I end up having to use the manager emergency pin. The only thing good about the experience is that it was clean. The unit was way too small for the price.

Moving your life into a storage unit isn't always the easiest, so any help along with the move is always welcome. Eduard at Cube Storage assisted with showing me units so I could select which one was best for my move. Eduard went above and beyond with outstanding customer service. The service he provided helped make my move run smoothly.. everything fit!! It's only been a couple of days since I have been with Cube Storage but the assistance I receive and the warm welcome that Tiffany and Eduard provide everytime I walk into the doors really has helped with my move. So thank you! Parking could be easier but it's easy to overlook with this outstanding service!

Ali the customer service person was very professional and provided answers to all my questions. Because of such great service, clean facility, and reasonable prices, I decided to change the size of my unit to a larger size, at the same location. Ali suggested that I talk with Tiffany about more detailed pricing and availability. Tiffany is a doll. She had such good energy with a welcoming smile. She gave me price information and 2 great deals that saved me a huge amount of money. Tiffany and Ali showed me 4 storage units that met my current needs. Surprisingly it was Ali's 1st day. Kudos to Cube Smart for great employees. I strongly suggest you bring your business here.

Cubesmart have some great managers! I got two callbacks from 83rd Cubesmart while on another call with this location. I love, love Tiffany J. who called me back when I reserved the unit, and in less than 10 minutes she was calling me. Even though I had to apologize for my dry tone because I thought it was someone playing on my phone, but she was very personable, friendly and professional. I didn't rent from her because it wasn't close to the bays nor a 1st unit because it's a popular location, and I'm out of shape..lol! But she left such a great impression on me, she was so gracious when I told her that another one of thier locations had called when I placed her on hold. And that I was going to the other location on 83rd because both locations called quickly. I was impressed at how complimentary she was of the manager named Tiffany and the aesthetics of the 83rd location, (yes I was confused being introduced to two Tiffany's at Cubesmart, 5 minutes apart. LOLOL.) I would recommend, this location, off personality alone!

I reviewed this 1038 W 35th St location almost 2 years ago and noted the poor behavior of the 2 person staff. Since then, as is noticeable every comment has been celebratory. Here is a business with 100% complimentary reviews. As unbelievable as that is, apparently Tiffany and Tanya are solicitous of customers and goad them into writing these sparkling personal reviews. My review is nowhere to be seen on their site. The OWNER responses are not from the REAL STAKEHOLDERS but from the clerical staff in the local office. Indeed I had noted the sanitary appearance of the facilities in my prior review, which is not unexpected since this is a recently rehabbed century old building. It was part of the defunct Spiegel Catalog company of old. Frankly it was the staff that was crude, rude and vulgar. Of course, after I complained to their CEO, The Attorney General's Office and the Consumer Affairs Department they have since apparently had a born-again experience. That's all for the good. Their current effort along with Monique Little, a District Manager, is to raise my rental rate to an extortionary amount to drive me away or make me pay for my keen observations. They would rather not follow the Illinois Law governing Self Storage businesses. If this address is convenient for any renter, I would note that it is in satisfactory physical condition

Tanya the manager was super helpful in explaining all the details and options as well as showing us various sizes of the storage units. It looks like a really well managed operation, has a great area for unloading your car under shelter, and a good number of carts for moving your items. The hours are very convenient and there’s plenty of parking. We are very thankful to have such a great option for additional storage in such a convenient location!

we were in a desperate crunch when covid hit and we had to find a storage facility for my daughter's things since her dorm was closing down. CubeSmart to the rescue. 6 months later I was coming to drop my daughter off to off campus housing and called the facility. The manager, Tiffany, was AWESOME!! She was attentive, very helpful and only charged me for the 2 extra days we used the facility instead of the whole month. The facility itself is very clean, secure, safe and easy to get to from the airport. I would use this facility in a heartbeat again if I had the need! Talk with Tiffany if you have any concerns. She makes the whole experience SO smooth.

Update: I've now been storing items at Cubesmart for almost 4 years. The price has gone up considerably, but I came back to just leave wholehearted praise for their office staff! They are so friendly and helpful. It was very easy to book a space online and they confirmed immediately, which was reassuring. The facility is clean and easy to access and the office attendant was very helpful and nice. The only things I didn't like is that you have to pay for a lock if you get it through them, which wasn't clear, and that you can only store/insure contents up to $5,000 which seems like it's not very much. Also, the elevators aren't very big.

I had a great experience working with Tiffany today! She really made a long, hot, mask-filled day a little easier. But I already knew this was the level of service we would receive. I may be a little biased, I've worked in the same building for 2 years and get to see Tiffany on occasion. That's why I want to share a unique story. Last year when winter was beginning and Chicago Public Schools were on strike, a young girl came to the building and asked for directions to a football field. Tiffany's instincts kicked-in and knew something was off. She went above and beyond to try and help that little girl get home safely. That's the caliber of character I want in my corner.

I'm new but, I can say, so far this place on point. I was greeted with a smile and warm welcome by the manager Mrs. Williams. She was courteous, thoroughly informative about Cube Smart, its policies, and the facility's amenities. She even took the time to clarify each point of the rental agreement as needed as I read through!... most businesses try to rush you through as if the details aren't important. The place is clean - I actually saw Mrs. Tasha diligently working to make certain it was (I used to be a mover, saw countless storage facilities, but never saw staff cleaning!). Cube Smart seems to look forward to going above bar to ensure some service. I'm sure I'll stick around for a while!

They both were very understanding of my unpredictable predicament that comes with moving. There is a no pressure approach and a willingness to literally walk you through the process. On moving day, they stepped out of the office to ensure I understood how to operate the doors, keypads, storage door...the works, which was all explained to me upon my first visit. The facility of itself is very clean with ample parking. It has large walkways that provides easy access to the units.
