The price increase game that goes up every 6 month's till you can't afford it! Other storage places let you pay in a year a head to keep the price locked in (for a while) not this one. The making you buy insurance that they had a class action law suit about. I had to prove that my home owners insurance covered it up to a certain amount. Others just have you wave it and no proof needed. Now for the good , a beautiful super well kept facility just more fancy than I needed.

I would leave a negative star rating if I could. IT was bad right from the move in. The move-in promo was use of a moving truck for N/C. Jen, manger, called day before the move in to say that I couldnt use the truck becasue it was proping up a garage door at another location. No other option, no discount since I now had to rent a truck on my own. NO NOTHING. The back wall of my locker is rusted and you can see daylight (weather)thru it. Upon move-out, all of the items along that back wall had webs and spider eggs on them. The rain gutter above my unit has a seam directly over my unit. The seam drips, constantly. I got dripped on everytime that I entered or exited the unit. I stopped in the office, again to talk to Jen, asking if the maintanance man could apply some silicone sealer to the seam. $5.00 fix. She said since my stored property wasnt effected by the water, they would NOT fix the drip. Horrible manager. Horrible. I jumped at the chance to relocate when a NEW facility opened in near by Waconda. Larger unit for less money. I forgot to mention that i experienced a 30% rate increase annually. For what?? Shame. You deserve better. Rent somewhere else. I did like the CubeSmart app that allows the front gate to open thru the app and not the keypad out front. That is a CubeSmart initiative, not Jens.

The facility is pretty well-kept and clean, but check around because they charge a lot of money compared to their competitors and they will also raise your rent after a few months. they raised my rent $25 per month after 5 months. I found the same size unit at a competitor for $114 a month less than I was paying with them. And one other thing. They required mandatory contents insurance which is covered by my homeowner's policy, but they refused to accept it because it doesn't specifically call out what they want to see. The new facility where I've moved to will allow you to purchase content coverage if you need it, but if you don't, they will just take your word for it.

Was in my storage space this morning trying to reorganize. Put something I no longer wanted by the dumpster and was berated by someone. She came out yelling excuse me, and being very hostile. I was kind and polite. She told me the dumpster wasn't for customers and that there's a sign. I continued to be polite and I apologized and said that I hadn't read the sign. I had something else in my hand that I was taking to my car, so I hadn't gone to grab the trash yet. She yells that I need to take it with me, and I say that I will. As soon as I put down what I had I grabbed the trash and put it into my car. She was very rude and hostile. I looked for the sign on the dumpster to make sure I hadn't missed an obvious sign. There was a no parking sign and in small letters it read "no public disposal" Now to me that is ambiguous, because that doesn't specify customer, or not, but I still took my trash. I do not appreciate being treated poorly for missing a small ambiguous sign and continued to be treated poorly as I did what was asked of me without question or being impolite to the person working.

Jen was a lifesaver. After reserving my unit and taking advantage of the free truck promotion. She was able to assist with all the extra questions I had. Even upsold me to a closer unit with a wider door. Thankfully she did as the unit I had initially reserved would have had a door I'd have to squeeze through. She even gave me water as I attempted to hustle and meet the truck return deadline, giving me a little more time so I didn't pass out in this extreme heat. I rented for almost a year. It was a clean facility and had a great price. Sadly as of yesterday we have vacated and will never use them again. We vacated the unit the day before our bill was due. When I got the call about my message of the empty unit the next day I was informed I needed to pay for one day. Works for me. The total per month was $75. I had to pay $14 and some change. For one day it should have been $2.50. I was told they could no prorate insurance. Again benefit of the doubt and said whatever ill pay it. Then decided to ask why our rent has went up three times in less than a year. Was literally told that they start you out at a discounted rate then state raising your rent to MAKE BACK most of that discount. Will never go back there which is sad because the units aren't bad and neither are the people. But raising rent to make back a discount less than a year into a unit. That's just bad business and they can keep it.

This was my first time renting space at a storage facility so I wasn't sure what to expect. The manager is friendly and knowledgeable without being pushy at all. They helped me get the right size unit and some accessories that I hadn't even thought of. The online reservation form was easy to fill out, and they called me within 20 minutes to confirm. Access is easy, and the whole place is always spotless. I would highly recommend this facility!

I've done storage before, but I have to say that the people and the process at CubeSmart in Kildeer, IL is the best! Jen is on top of absolutely everything, and she is professional and personable. From the time I walked in to the time I could start loading my unit was less than half an hour - and that included checking out the space. The price is more than reasonable as well. I haven't met Sue yet, but I'm sure I'll like her, too! There are a good range of sizes, the gate is easy to work (and you don't have to use a keypad to get back out) there is plenty of room for large vehicles, too, as I have a big truck. Had no problem turning around right by the locker. Facility is spotless, lockers are clean, well maintained, and no screws or nails poking through. They have a great range of moving supplies at good prices, too. No need to go elsewhere. Insurance is required, but is very reasonable, and there are a range of coverages to make life and protection easy. The contract came through on the computer as promised, and all has been very pleasant and smooth sailing! One other plus that several places cannot claim: the pavement is smooth, clear and easy to navigate!! It looks recently levelled and repaved. Winter visits will not be a problem! Definitely check them out if you need storage help!!

I love Mama Sue! She's such a sweetheart! And the truck renting option is the best idea ever. The store manager wasn't pleasant u til the last day. She had a cool hat on and I realize now that she must've lost it before and found it that day, then became the sweet and helpful chica I knew was trapped inside. Don't buy their expensive, cheaply made locks. One of my keys broke inside Instantly and they would do a return or exchange. Also, my storage almost made it to auction and they cut the damn lock off instead asking for the key. I know that's normal for most facilities to cut them but I found it to be an extra unnecessary offense. Thank gawd she now has the hip purple and yellow plaid hat. You go, Glen Coco!

This is a terrible place to rent a shed at. The prices are pretty high to begin with. Every year they throw a substantial rent increase of about $20 to your shed. The new manager, Jen, is a total loser who is unprofessional, uneducated, unattractive and unqualified to work here. Most of the tenants dislike her and the way she handles herself. Even the corporate manager, Bruce Goldfart, told me he has received complaints about her.

I just moved out of my storage unit in Kildeer. Had no issues with this location until a major construction project started in May. Early on, access to my unit was impossible for several days. Since then, the entrance has been reduced to dirt and gravel. The electronic gate is now gone. There is only one way in to the aisle where my unit was located. Construction vehicles have often been parked in that aisle. Everything in my unit was covered in dust and dirt. While I give manager Cliff Powell five stars for his excellent service, I have to give Cubesmart one star for it's decision to not share information about the construction with its' tenants. The place is a mess, and likely will be for some time.

I have been renting at this facility since 1985. The current manager Cliff has been an absolute wonderful manager of this facility for most likely a decade. Cliff is courteous and always there if I had questions or needed a problem solved. On the other side of the coin is Cube Smart themselves. About a year ago I was asked to leave the unit that I was in so they could build a new building for people that wanted inside storage which is understandable. I moved into a clean one right down the aisle. After 9 months of construction on the new inside facility everything in my unit is absolutely filthy from all the construction dust. Since then they have raised the cost of rent twice with the biggest price increase just in the last week. Looks like I'm paying in more then one way for their new building. I would think Cube Smart would have some loyalty to a 30 year plus renter and not hose him with these price increases.

I went in September of 2014 because it was the most convenient location, however the customer service I received was extraordinary! Cliff was great! He helped me find the space that I needed at a great price. Then a couple of weeks ago I needed more space and once again he helped me get exactly what I needed. He is the true definition of customer service, you can tell he cares,and enjoys what he does. He definitely goes the extra mile!

I have been renting a unit from CubeSmart for a few years. I have always been treated by Cliff as the best customer possible. With my current job uncertainty due to negotiations and possibly not being paid, I was unable to continue to afford the unit I was renting. Cliff worked with me to get all of my items out as quickly as possible. I will definitely recommend this storage facility to anyone that needs to store their items! Great job Cliff!

I was recently referred to Cube Smart by another storage provider who did not have the size unit I needed. Upon arriving at Cube Smart, I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of both the grounds and the office. Once inside the office, Cliff greeted me immediately and listened to my needs patiently. He was able to answer all of my questions and showed me a perfect unit within minutes. I found the right sized unit, was able to keep it within my budget, and purchased boxes for my move right then and there. Cliff also informed me that because I was a first time renter it allowed me to use their moving truck for a very small and reasonable fee!!! Another great surprise, because this saved me the hassle of having to make a separate trip and negotiate with UHaul. Overall, my visit exceeded my expectations and the service provided by Cliff was friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and met all of my needs. I will definitely refer friends and family to Cube Smart in the future.

I have been a customer of CubeSmart for a few years at this location. We were utilizing their outside parking to store a trailer. Recently, we changed to a different trailer that was a considerable size larger. I went in to inquire about finding a new space, thinking my chances of getting one were slim. It turns out that I was correct and there wasn't one currently available, but Cliff & Mary were very quick to offer up another one of the CubeSmart locations. Not only did they recommend the new location, they looked up the availability and even booked an appointment for me at the new location. To top it off, as I was getting back into my car, I received a phone call from the new location confirming my reservation! This is true customer service! Thank you Cliff & Mary!
