Seems as though the customer service goal of this location is to collect money and give you a hard time. This afternoon at around 4pm, my roommate and I came in to grab some items. As pedestrians, we chose to enter through the lobby to avoid any unsavory interactions with a carload of folks entering through the car access gates. We walked through the lobby, walked past the employee(dark haired man) and made our way towards our unit. Him looking at us like he’d seen a ghost would make sense later, but at the time I chalked it up to my normal experience of being “black in the burbs”. My roommate organizing our items to take back and right as we finish the employee quietly approaches us and asks that we enter through the gates so there is record of our entering. Upon exiting through the gates we were told to enter, we realized the sensor does not respond to pedestrians seemingly only cars. Why not have a sign in book in the lobby, if pedestrians have no exit gate access? Very unsavory experience and inconvenient to exit as a pedestrian. Not everyone has a car.

The monthly rate kept increasing exponentially and I had no way of dumping any of my garbage outside because the dumpster was for "Facility administration use strictly." I was not asked why I was leaving after almost three years of paying almost $200 per month for my unit. Very disappointing.

Nick was extremely helpful & clear about how to access the loading dock, my unit, etc. I had a bad experience at another facility in the area as it was filthy & no employee is ever on site as everything is handled remotely. I was so pleased to find that CubeSmart not only is immaculate, but a live person (Nick) is on the premises & very willing to answer questions. There are some businesses that truly cannot give appropriate service/support without having someone physically there. I sure hope CubeSmart sticks with their current business model as it’s just what was looking for! Thank you!

Have been a customer for two years, always paid on time. Don't have any type of impressive unit, and it is not in a desirable place within the building. They've hiked the rent on my unit several times so far, most recently by a whopping 22%! Now my rent is almost $100 per month HIGHER than that shown on their website for available units of the same size. Having a hard time understanding this as a "standard business practice" (as their Customer Service folks have just explained to me). So...if I leave, they will be out $1200 per year (more with the insurance), assuming they are even able to rent out my unit immediately. Interesting way to run a business.

This place needs an overhaul. The older lady with red hair needs a communication course constantly raises her voice when you question her about the rent increase. Then when you finally get sick of it you raise your voice then she feels the need to say "please don't raise your voice sir" I believe a drive through would be more appropriate job title for this women. Then when you file a complaint to the district manager she never gets back to you. STORAGE RENTER BEWARE DO NOT RENT HERE

The facility and unit were very clean (new) and easily accessible with flat carts provided. Manager was very nice. The only issue we had was some water got into the unit after a heavy rain and damaged some stuff. TBD how the claim filing goes.

Beware the Bait & Switch After four months at $97.50, my rent has been moved up to $212.00. At first everything was great. Then the doors were locked, EVEN FROM THE INSIDE. The bay door was broken for two weeks. Gated entry was stuck open. And now a +100% increase in price announced via postcard? No thanks. I'll move to another storage facility. Strangely, you can book a new unit online with this same company at the same location for only a small increase. While it's tempting, I'd rather not give Cubesmart any more money. I was also offered a one-time, $25 discount off the new price. No thanks. I spoke with three separate employees. All told me the same, they have not received a pay raise. So...? What justifies a 100% price increase? I'm waiting to hear from a "district supervisor" who should call me within "48 business hours", or six business days. Look elsewhere or be prepared for a significant increase in your rent announced not via email or phone call, but by an easily discarded postcard.

The facility is clean and well kept. Secure but easy enough to get in and out with keypads. Storage is indoors. There are elevators and push carts available. I was a little disappointed in the reservation process. I gave a move-in date 2 weeks in the future, but they charged me from the day I made the reservation. They did however, make an adjustment after I complained. So it's all good. I would advise calling to make your reservation and be sure you understand their policies.

I used CubeSmart for 6 months on 1750 W Central Rd in Mount Prospect I kept all my furnitures and everything that use at home because I waited for my new home to be remodeled. When we brought everything to our new home I was and I still am super happy that everything smelled clean and fresh. That was my biggest concern that my stuff especially couch will smell like garage or mold or any different weird smell. I definitely recommend this location (since I did not tried any different) to everyone!

Used CubeSmart temporarily (a few months?) during a move for practical and staging or decluttering purposes. House was often being shown, so anything personal or not the bare minimum had to be stored. My experience was great! I chose this location due to its proximity to family (who also had some of my things, for help moving and it's general central point to where my home search was.) Accessibility was super easy-- enough space to park, turn around with a large SUV, pull-in garage space was sufficient and made things a lot easier. The layout was very straightforward and I never struggled trying to find my unit after visiting it for the first time. VERY well maintained, clean, orderly, everything seemed new, and that all instilled a definite sense of confidence that my things would be safe/protected/etc. Above all, the general manager (Steven, I believe-- quite tall, thin, Caucasian, maybe bald... or -ish) was *excellent* (full stop, but I'll continue) with answering questions, genuinely and with transparency, and always being available when needed. Felt very natural to trust him and thus the facility, which is really saying something because I always go with my gut; I'm kind of suspicious of anyone trying to sell me anything (the answer is going to be no. ...well, usually), but to be fair I am the one that made a reservation, went in, and made the decision to trust the company after seeing another location, and I've done and dealt with sales and sales-types, respectively, for years and that's not easy to do. I think he's genuinely just a nice, honest person, and those are the people I like to do business with. So bravo, CubeSmart and Steven. Good calls, all around. He made the whole process so, so easy. He seemed to always be around when he could potentially be needed (example: moving all of my stuff out with a moving company– they had a big truck, it was on/off rainy, he probably saw us through his cameras, and casually came over a bit later once the truck had arrived (I'd been waiting for the movers for a little bit) and helped out with the door so as not to cause issues with the sensor of the large vehicle door. And to my relief, the movers were very efficient and it was a Saturday morning, so we didn't even encounter anyone else trying to access their units and potentially getting in the way). He made opening AND closing my rental agreement with the company so, so easy. I am just immensely grateful. Moving is not fun, at all, and the easier that it can be, the better, times three. This place used to be an "Extra Space Storage" when I started renting my space. Back then I had close to no issues with them. Out of nowhere it changed to CubeSmart Self Storage. I wasn't aware of the change until I received the bill!!! Not a single email or letter was sent out to say it was changing owners. On top of that, my 24 hour access was terminated. Now THAT is an issue. I need 24 hour access due to mu work schedule. Again, I wasn't notified of the 24 hr access being terminated either. Had to go store items at my family's garage AT ONE AM because of that! One of the exit doors WONT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE hence having to walk around the inside of the building to be able to exit. My unit is close to said door to make exiting simpler.... I've tried calling a few times with no luck. Unless these issues are resolved, I feel ill be forced to look elsewhere for storage. It's a shame since it's a nice new building and always maintained; which is why I'm giving it 2 stars. Before CubeSmart took over, and it was still an Extra Space Storage I gave it all of 5 stars...now, it's not deserving

I was delivering a skid for a customer that was also a customer for them and the dark-haired lady with the distinguished mole on her face was in charge on Tuesday morning June 15th at around 10:00../the lady went berserk snapping her fingers getting in my personal space and cursing at me not very professional... I had to record her for work-related purposes to show that the package was refused... She ended up calling the cops while I waited for the customer to come and open his unit for me.... I should have been in and out of that place within 10 minutes she blew it way out of proportion I hope she gets fired or reprimanded

They raised my rates by $30 for reasons I still don’t understand. I specifically chose this location because of their low rates. It is incredibly deceitful to raise rates without a proper reason and I will definitely be reviewing my contract with them. DO NOT USE THEM if you want to deal with extra hassle. This place is near perfect, but during the winter, if there happens to be a lot of snow, there are no efforts to be plowed and salted. I got stuck TWICE in the snow today trying to remove items from my storage, and as another good Samaritan tried helping me out his truck died in the process with little to no room for mobility. I tried calling a few times and there is no emergency service or after hours management available. Very upsetting.

I spoke with Kaya about renting a climate-controlled unit while going through a possible move. The units shown were reasonably clean (imagine a well-kept industrial shop). Took a tour the other day with my dad and WOW! This place is awesome. I was hesitant to put my things in storage because of the dreadful stories. Monique is the best! My wife and I were about 6 months into a 12 month lease on a storage unit at this location when we saw some potential water marks on the ceiling above our unit. When I brought this to Monique's attention, she came to the unit with me right away to see for herself. After taking a look, she offered to move my unit to a comparable one, free of charge! They needed to vacate the unit so that they could get this issue fixed, but the quick turnaround time and action to resolve this potential issue was appreciated. This is the type of customer service I expect and appreciate from a storage unit company. The building is an old printing building, so it is expected that there might be some wear and tear on the exterior that could cause issues from time to time. Monique and her staff keep the building EXTREMELY clean and do whatever they can to prevent any issues from the older building exterior. That was the main reason we chose to go with Extra Space Storage in Mt Prospect.

This place used to be great when it was Safe Space Storage. After cubesmart took over i was getting notices every couple months of a price increase. I looked at other units in the area and other companies had a much better standard base price than cubesmart. The facility no longer felt like it was temp controlled too. Overall i would never come back to a cubesmart. My new facility has better hours, more security, actually feels temp controlled, doesn't smell like old boxes and dusty clothes and over $100 less than cubesmart for the same size unit 10x10.

It's been a year or so I've been at this facility. Have had a few rough spots but the 2 employees were courteous and patient and were able to figure everything out. Only down side is that the rent keeps going up and up.... Great facility. Clean and well maintained. The employees are knowledgeable and friendly. As well as very patient and understanding. Also reasonably priced. I highly suggest this complex if you need some "extra space" (get it lol) In all seriousness, great, clean, affordable and with knowledgeable staff.

I recently changed storage facilities to ExtraSpace In Mount Prospect ( in fact I'm still in the process) I can not say enough about Monique & Breyana ! I have recently suffered a disability that has the short term side effect of some short term memory loss & a bit of confusion. My daughter was kind enough to help & made the call, choice & reservation explaining my needs to Monique, who was not only kind BUT Patient , Because she went over the options several times with me, I chose what I thought had been decided on. She patiently (with a great sense of humor) filled out the application with me & sent me on my way. As soon as I got home my daughter realized I chose the wrong unit ,called Monique who very graciously offered to stay ( On Friday at 5:30pm) so that we could correct it . I drove back immediately. She went above & beyond great customer service !! Breyana , Who I met on Monday, Has not only also been kind & patient ....But Helpful in how they keep things running smoothly in the loading area , The weather has been horrible here rain & wind wet & muddy But the loading area is spotless! I have seen both of them cleaning all thru the day! Thats less dirt I'm dragging to my own unit. You can not go wrong in choosing this location & these ladies to serve you!

Super friendly staff! I worked with Monique and she was very knowledgeable and had answers to every question I had. The facility was extremely clean and after visiting 3 other storage facilities with different companies today, I just knew this was the place for me. The rate was competitive, I felt that my stuff would be secure and in good hands so I pulled the trigger and rented the space. Monique even made that process easy and simple to understand! Definitely recommend to everyone!

A great secure place to store inventory or belongings, and the staff is always very helpful and courteous. Especially Breyana, who always takes her time with people and makes an effort to find the best value or accommodations for us. The hours of operation and lack of bathroom after office hours are the only complaints I have. Otherwise, I highly recommend this storage provider ??

I’ve been renting at this location for several years. We loved our Extra Space team and there was a brief and somewhat chaotic transition period under the new management, but everything is great now. Steven has been super helpful! Great communication. We are so happy with the place, we decided to rent another unit this week. I’m glad we stayed on at Cubesmart. This facility is clean and secure. Highly recommend.

I found Extra Space Storage using my phone and within 2 hours was moving stuff into my new storage unit. I met the store manager and the assistant store manager and they were great, as was the facility! Very clean and neat. I don't think I could have done better!

I received wonderful service from Ashley. She is very pro-active. My monthly payment was set-up to automatically be charged to my credit card. My credit card was stolen. I did not get a chance to call and give my new credit card number. Ashley called me and informed me in a very professional and friendly way of the late fee I would incur if it wasn't paid today. I gave her the new number, and thanked her for calling me and saving me the late fee. I have had wonderful service from Ashley before. Always very helpful and positive attitude. She is a wonderful employee, and she should be recognized for the wonderful service she provided to all her customers.

Great storage facility. It is clean and feels safe. The staff is friendly and helpful. What I like the most about this facility is that it has a drive-up loading area inside the building. I was able to drive my van inside the building to unload boxes and place them on the carts that they provide. I recommend this facility.

Excellent customer service! My friend left an expensive truck attachment in the loading dock.. Breyana was so kind on the phone and had assured me the problem would be looked into immediately . Thus place is a great storage facility. When you compare to other places in town their price is easily the best. With the insurance we are under $100 for a 10x10. The garage access in the loading area is a huge plus especially if there is rain while loading or unloading. Very clean and very secure. The office staff is super friendly and helpful.

Having stored military books in previous storage companies, Extra Space Storage is by far the best: Rental fee is fair, my space is ideal for my business, Barb and Breyana were very professional in their presentation and even reserved my space several weeks in advance, when I would be using the space. Facility is very clean, secure, and well kept. I had a locker at a competitor right down the street. After a dramatic increase of my rental fee there, I decided to check out ExtraSpace - and I'm so glad I did! Management was very informative and friendly. This place is better in every respect, and the prices are lower. Completing the rental agreement was easy, and I was moving my things in immediately. This is my 4th time renting a storage space - and by far the best experience I've had. Highly recommend!

Fantastic storage facility. I spent some time looking around at my local area storage facilities and glad I went with this one. Indoor unit with really easy access. They have a large garage bay for you to pull your vehicle into and close up so you can unload onto their carts in comfort from the elements. Elevators are right there and it's easy breezy to get to the units from there. Really clean facility, well lit spaces, and the office staff is super attentive.

I stopped in to Extra Space Storage because I needed a small area in which the store a few boxes rhat were cluttering up my bedroom. Barb took me on a tour of the building, explained everything very clearly and was very friendly and helpful. I did sign up for a small space because the rate was very reasonable and that is the cleanest storage building I have ever been in! It's very well-lit, easy to access during or after hours, carts are available as well as two elevators. This was a very positive experience for me!! Five stars!

Wow, I love this place. Its much better than Public Storage on central road in Mount Prospect about half mile from Extra Space Storage. Public storage has too many issues and water leaking etc.. Extra Space Storage (ESS) in Mount Prospect, IL is one of the nicest self storage facilities I have been in. The facility is clean, feels very safe, and offers a wide range of storage options.
