Scott & Jeff are amazing at CubeSmart Self Storage! They bent over backwards to accommodate me and some special needs I had in the rental process and choosing a space. The facility is clean and well kept and the service is so far beyond what you would expect for a storage unit! I highly recommend them without any reservation. Parking is a bit tricky it can be a long walk if the small main lot is full. Other than that its all good in i eyes. 30 years plus a moving experience speaking, it's also a darling to move in and out of. Smooth and level fairways could be a little wider in some of the tributary aisles but substantial enough to function fluidly, abundant lighting, attentive attendants, efficient equipment, resourceful and knowledgeable staffers. Just the right as well. Sidenote: Two negatives one u can control one u can't. There can be a strong downwind stench coming from a treatment plant nearby sometimes. Secondly DO NOT TURN ON RED burn the gas p polute the environment but Don't Turn On Red around here.

I sought out this particular CubeSmart based on a word of mouth recommendation from a current customer. Storage is hard! I’ve had at least a half dozen units around Chicagoland over the years. I’ve been nickeled, dimed, harassed.. I’ve had things stolen. Needless to say, I developed my share of trust issues, and it’s the very reason why I’m willing to pass several other storage facilities and go a few minutes farther just to store the important things in my life somewhere safe. Not only is this facility a fortress, but the customer service is unlike any I’ve experienced with self storage. When I first moved in, Jeff gave me the grand tour. He showed me several similar units, explained the pros and cons of each, and helped me visualize move in, move out, and in between visits. Jeff seemed most concerned with finding the balance of what’s best for me and my items, and the most reasonable monthly payment available. I walked away feeling fully informed and just as secure as my all of my stuff. I highly recommend this place!

The good: The facility is clean and bright. The elevators work well and there have been carts available every time I’ve gone. The price is fair, as is the protocol for downsizing a storage unit, if needed. The not-so-good: If your unit is on the second floor, you could waste 30 minutes trying to find it! There are NO MAPS at the front entrance and a customer familiar with the facility told me to drive around the back. I suggested to management that posting a map near that front entrance would be helpful and they didn’t do it. The person who helped me had the same experience I did and believe me, it creates a needlessly bad first impression.

This has become a commercial operation. The last 3 times I went there, moving trucks were unloading. I had to back out of the entrance it was so crowded. The price went from $72.75/month in 12/20 to $143.85/month in July, 2024, a 98% increase in 4 years!

DO NOT ever place a reservation online in this place. I placed it hours before their closing time and when I arrived, the locker was not prepared, there was no key to be found (their website provided instructions that I would find a code-lock with a key to the locker) I then did not have any use for that locker and had to haul back a big sectional I was trying to store there (which was already a horrible experience.) I then tried contacting through phone, online chat, and email and received NO response even 'till this day. I attempted to reach out in person several times but every time I showed up, their store was closed to the public even though there were clear signs with their hours and they were supposed to be open. There were a few times that the main entrance was closed due to construction being done by the city of Skokie in their front entrance, but I never found any signs about alternative customer support, as far as I could see around the building, there is only a single entrance with customer service. I continued to be charged ~$700 in those 3 months with no hope in sight, until finally I was able to find Jeff and Mike in office and they were of no help at all. They supposedly contacted corporate and said they could only refund me one month's worth of charges because they only hear from me until 3 months later. BUT IT WAS THEIR TRASH SYSTEM THAT WOULDN'T ALLOW ME TO CONTACT THEM THROUGH THAT WHOLE TIME. I asked Jeff if I could talk to a higher up in corporate myself but he denied me that service. I am now filing a claim directly with my bank to get a full refund for a service they never provided. It is by far the WORST experience with any customer support that I've ever had. DO NOT step near this place.

the "response" from the "owner" clearly demonstrates how totally OUT-OF-TOUCH cubesmart storage is from their facilities, employees AND most importantly, their customers. not only did i give my name and the storage facility, i've also made contact with the district manager and the vp regional manager, both of whom lied about their contact with me. they have HEARD from EVERY WEEK SINCE THE START OF MY 1st LEASE on 30 january. *UPDATE* - sunday, 11 april 2021. although cubesmart corp CLAIMS to want to hear from me, it's the last thing they really want. corporate allowed the ice to accumulate so much during feb/march, that it blocked the ONLY pedestrian door out of the indoor parking area. the ice blocked the door until the FINAL DAYS of march, when mother nature melted enough of it to once again allow the door to open. jeff, mike and myself did as much as we could to alleviate the problem, while corporate allowed it to continue for WEEKS.

I rented a unit here for 2 years. The staff was incredibly friendly, easy to work with. All units were easy to access, on ground level, with an indoor drive-in area that was convenient on rainy days. There was good lighting. Good climate-control. No flooding. But the place was a bit dusty. After 2 years, there was a layer of dust on the top of my stuff. The floor also had gotten dirty over the course of 2 years.

We weren't sure how big a space we needed but he told us that wasn't a problem and we could reserve a space but then change if the movers could see that it wasn't the correct size. Rich was such a great help! He was friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend CubeSmart to anyone looking for storage rental. It is new and very clean and very reasonable prices. I love a place that has great customer service and they do.

Had a great experience at the new CubeSmart on Oakton in Skokie Saturday, February 17. Rich and Jeff were very friendly and helpful. Rich took my information and ensured the app process went smoothly and quickly. He showed us to the storage unit, demonstrated how the the lock works, and even gave us tips on how best to load the unit. Thanks Rich and Jeff, you made a busy day much easier!
