Awful and rude experience. I reserved a unit online for my business, with a move in date for the following month. I paid the fee and assumed we would move in on the date selected as the move in date. I got a rude call a few days later letting me know (in a most condescending manner) that my lock had not been purchased. I was surprised, as I looked through all email communication and there were no specific onboarding instructions that said I had to physically go to the store to put a lock on the unit prior to our move in date. It seems illogical to put a lock on a unit until the day of move in. After a circular conversation with the GM of this location, I asked him to cancel our contract and refund the money, as their onboarding process was vague/ambiguous and did not make sense. As a business owner, the last thing I want to deal with, are rude vendors who cannot communicate. I was told he had to check with upper management. I told him the refund would need to be a check since the account we paid from had major fraud the week before, and had to be shut down. Once again, he did not listen and attempted to process a $20-ish refund (a fraction of what I paid) to the card (that was no longer active). I have since followed up with management, only to be told the refund was processed (it wasn't as the bank account was closed before they "processed" the refund). Stay away from this business. They don't have clear and concise onboard instructions and are rude at best. They will gladly take your money and outright lie about refunding it when they make a mistake. I find it is better to deal with locally owned and operated storage facilities (that is what we ended up doing). Zero stars, do not recommend!

The facility is clean and secure. However, the pricing is ridiculous. I’ve had a unit there for over two years and the monthly rate increased several times a year with no warning. Rates vary by the day when you go to reserve, and are different online than in store. I transitioned into a smaller unit a few months ago, the day I reserved the price had gone up nearly 50% from earlier in the week. 4 months later my monthly rate just went up another 30%. I’m now paying as much as I was for a unit 4x the size. I’m paying $130/mo for the same size unit listed online at $13. Incredibly frustrating, I’ll be looking by elsewhere.

I've had a unit here for a few years and everything has worked great, but I recently needed something a little bigger. Christine was super helpful and set me up with something super fast. Once I finished moving everything over to the new unit, she called me and ask if I still needed the old unit. I had completely forgot. That's first class support! And the climate controlled environment keeps my stored items in top shape.

Place is clean and organized. Attempted to reserve a space via the web, but the contract presented included their insurance and their lock and no option to decline. I wanted neither. Upon contact with a rep, I was directed to visit the store directly. Had to take a declarations page for my mothers renter insurance. This space was for my mother. They claimed she had to be present to rent. I informed them I have Power of Attorney. Service rep checked with boss, no luck. She had to be physically present. I told them she is in assisted living and not mobile. I reminded them what POA means. Still no. At this point I have my insurance agent on the line and, God bless her, said just give them my home insurance declaration, they will cover any damage to my mother's possessions. What an infuriating experience. 2024-10-04 Follow-Up To add insult to injury. I had movers move my mother's apt to CubeSmart. When I got there, we were, for lack of a better word, accosted by the facility manager for standing in the doorway as we unloaded the furniture. The manager told us we cannot stand in front of the door to keep it open, and warned us that any damage to the door would be charged to us. We had to let it close each time and re-enter our code to move the next piece of furniture. Keep in mind, the van rear was only 5 feet away from the door. So we had to let the door close each time we had a new piece of furniture to move. There is some serious issues with this place.

I rented a large unit for 4+ years. My review spans this entire time. Prices are very high in my opinion, annual price hikes exceeding inflation, customer service has been inconsistent - sometimes good, sometimes not available. Elevator inspections may happen at inconvenient times. The exterior garage-style doors will come down on your head if you're not careful. Having said all of that, Eric (district manager) always returned my calls. The manager on-site (Christine) when we vacated our unit on 8/16/24 was excellent, 5 stars for her, a refreshing experience and a change for the better. Perhaps through her influence things will continue to improve.

Manager Christine Poland deserves a 10 star review! It is rare these days to have someone provide the care, compassion, and professionalism that Christine and her colleague, Evan (who I believe manages the nearby location) provided to my family this week. My USNA Midshipman was given quick notice of an earlier than expected flight to catch a ship out to sea. He had to get the remainder of his dorm room emptied and his items stored. Due to the late hour, many of his belongings made it to the lobby of the CubeSmart facility but not up to his unit before the automatic timer shut down the facility and locked him out on his final trip to the vehicle outside. From halfway across the country, I tried every available customer service number and was told “sorry, we cannot guarantee security of items which are not in the leased unit, but we will reach out to the after hours number for you.” I was up all night worrying about my Mid’s items, as was he. Midshipman don’t have many possessions, but what little they have is personal, special, sentimental, valued, and hard-earned. He was on a plane and I was halfway across the country, both of us feeling helpless. Early the next morning, I got a call from Christine Poland. She told me my message on the local office voicemail was the only one she had received and wanted to assure me she had seen the items in the lobby upon her arrival and would do whatever she could to help. She then proceeded to do exactly that. She secured my son’s things to ensure that no one would walk away with them, contacted Evan from a nearby location to assist her, sent me pictures of my son’s items, helped me coordinate with another trusted Midshipman (son’s best friend) who was still on the yard and could come to witness and load things for her into my unit, took me through the steps of having my unit opened with the witness and place a new lock, and called me repeatedly throughout the day to notify me of every step of the process. Christine provided more than service. She provided peace of mind. She could not have been more helpful to our Midshipmen or to me. As a manager, I’m sure she has to deal with all sorts of people and problems and many are not so kind to deal with. I approached her with a problem with respect and gratitude and simply asked for help. She responded with that and much more. Rarely have I ever had such service or felt such gratitude. Christine and Evan have a hard job and I’m sure they put up with a lot. They went above and beyond for our USNA family, and for that I am grateful. Go Navy!

Love CubeSmart Storage on George Ave! We switched to CubeSmart after a very negative experience at a different storage unit company. Here at CubeSmart they answer the phone, will return your call if you leave a message, clean and reasonably priced. Christine was so helpful when we first moved into the unit. She gave clear directions, explained the temporary code, how to retrieve the lock and where to unload everything. I had a billing question and left a message. Within 10 minutes, Evan returned my call and easily answered my question. If you're looking for a local storage unit, highly recommend CubeSmart!

The facility is clean and well lit. However, there are gaps in the wall between my unit and my neighbors. Some of their items were spilling through the gap and into my unit. Also, my rental fee increased after only 6 months, from $119 including insurance, to $145. That's a steep price hike!

The employee in the lobby, Nancy, was so helpful! She had full understanding and was calming my nerves about how much my rent would be. I rented a storage unit for my child who is at college near by . The process was so easy to do online . When we went to the location it was clean , lots of carts to put his stuff on to get to the unit . Definitely letting his friends from school know about this place .

A friend recommended this business for packing boxes. She said the boxes were really sturdy and had handles. So I decided to go check them out . Christine went over lots of items to help me pack . I ended up getting a kit because she said it would save me money and it did. It had a lot of different boxes, tape and bubble wrap. Christine also told me the outside box could be used for pictures or mirrors. Plus everything stays organized and I can just pull boxes out to pack as I need.

Christine and Nancy were so nice and helpful in helping me with deciding what size storage unit I would need and moving in. The facility feels safe and secure with multiple cameras and access codes to doors and elevators. Very clean as well. Christine was very helpful for the entire process and made the stress of moving a lot easier!

Christine was amazing! The facility is clean and I feel safety is a priority with multiple security cameras and code requirements for doors and elevators. The only issue I have is the units are a bit pricey but supply and demand I guess.

Not prorated when you checkout. You're charged for the entire month even if you checkout on the 2nd. They are currently not allowing customers to use public bathrooms, now that's a pain in the behind when your in need.

CubeSmart is a lifesaver! Clean, secure, long-hours available, temperature-comfortable. I found myself in March in temporary housing in Annapolis, three thousand miles from home and nothing for it but to hunker down. CubeSmart Annapolis was a lifeline, temporary storage but also package delivery. The ladies in the front office — Christine and Nancy — have been unflappably cheerful under my blizzard of deliveries, and this lifeline has made all the difference to me.

I just finished a cross country move that had left me feeling pretty defeated. Think Murphy’s Law - literally lol. Christine and CubeSmart were the end of my bad luck. I could go on and on about how clean and nice this facility is. So nice, that the person helping me wanted to get a unit THAT day! But the real delight of this place is Christine!!! She’s got a personality that’s impossible to be in a bad mood around (and trust me, I tried with all the bad luck I was having). She doesn’t just have a can do attitude, it’s more like a cannot not do! Anything I needed was not a problem at all!! I seriously believe she would’ve come helped me unload my container if I would’ve asked haha! Christine was such a pleasure to work with and represents the company so well. Can tell she loves what she does and that’s so refreshing, especially in what’s often a hectic situation. Thank you sooooo much.

Interior of the facility is really nice, and the interior climate control is great. However, you'll get scalped with hidden fees, which in my case more than doubled the initial payment listed online. They asked me to recommend CubeSmart to other students in the Annapolis area; if you want to spend a bunch of extra money on a unit, go for it. Otherwise, I really recommend a place that has a better business model than taking more money than what they list online.

I love this place. About 10 years ago, I had a storage unit in the area and was very disappointed. My rates were high for such a small unit, the outdoor gate to get in was a pain, and it was just an overall dissatisfying experience. I was so pleased to try this place out where everyone has been friendly and helpful. I recently downsized my unit as I’ve finally started to clear out some things and they were so helpful in helping me find a smaller size closer to my previous unit. As long as I need a storage unit, I’ll continue having one here.

Also the management needs to reprimand thire employees for disrespecting CUSTOMERS. I have 2 long term spaces at CubeSmart for my business....I (or my staff) may come and go a few times a day. The staff is always friendly and the covered parking makes it convenient to load/unload on even the nastiest of days. The temperature is always comfortable so I feel confident that some of my more fragile items will be safe from extreme heat, cold, or humidity.
