Ignored my calls and kicked my driver off the property after I just paid for my 2nd unit $240 & refused to refund me, and gave me a a number for a district manger that does not answer the phone...... HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Absolutely the BEST storage facility I've used in the DMV. My property was stored at the Donnell Drive location in District Heights, MD. ALWAYS clean, secured, appropriate lighting and temperature. Every interaction with staff was always helpful and pleasant. When I moved out of my storage, something was stuck to the floor and I couldn't remove it. The manager was so sweet, she was like no charge for the removal of the substance stuck to the floor and "enjoy your summer". I can guarantee you if you select this storage facility you will have a favorable experience. Cube Smart Donnell Drive, District Heights...simply the BEST deserve ten stars for sure!!

Ms. Mary is the GREATEST. She was so hands on making sure that everything was perfect with my move-in. She offered a plethora of information, gave me a tour of the whole building and even showed me the easiest way to get to my cube by pointing out the closest elevator to my cube. Once she noticed that the elevator was out of service, she tried to fix it herself. it did not work that day, but the next day, she had it fixed and I felt like she did that just for me. She noticed that I was the only one moving my stuff in and even gave me an extra 30 minutes to finish as it was nearing closing time. Because of her, I would DEFINITELY recommend Cube Smart Self Storage to my friends. I am a former Auto Sales Consultant and my biggest gift was customer service. She was so hands on and her customer service is WONDERFUL. I DEFINITELY give her and this location 5 STARS!!!

Needing a Storage Unit in an emergency is one thing but to be able to get one, a ground floor one at that is quite another! I do not recall the lady's name who runs the Donnell Drive Location but she was excellent from the opening of my account and closing me out! Honorable mention goes to the lady who runs the Brooks Drive Location because she referred me to the Donnell Drive Location! The customer service is terrible. No call backs after leaving numerous voice mails. The cost went up even though the storage size reminded the same. The idea of manless offices without some kind of human assistance either via call back or chat is ridiculous. The on site ‘free’ truck is not free and trying to book it with an unmanned office proved to be a chore. We ended up getting a moving truck and removing our items from The storage. The gates and systems always seemed to have issues. I was starting to think that the place lacked security and safety. There are other storage places with better pricing for the same size units.

I gave a 7 / 4 stars based on GM there now she needs to go to customer service training, she does not have great people skills. Anthony on the other hand is awesome and goes above and beyond. I’m not sure why he is not the GM there when he has been there and displayed same great service on any encounter. I would advise pulling this GM to do more training it is definitely needed. I’m in the Medical field and work with people daily and know how people should be treated and this woman does not have that skillset.

If you do storage auctions at this location be vigilant of your clean out time. The management is all to eager to keep your deposit even if you are cleaning out a large unit of junk and you are doing them a favor. Way too focused on keeping the "cleaning deposit" they should just call it a velocity penalty. Doesn't matter your circumstances. I'd steer clear.

clean facility and grounds. very friendly and professional staff. HOWEVER, the place could use better carts and more of them. I should think two per level would be standard. only saw 2 usable carts for the whole facility. Even went floor by floor to find abandon carts, only to find none. People have been waiting to grab a cart every time I went to remove or add items to my space. one guy helped me unload to get the cart. Some customers get very upset when you say you need to take the cart back to your unit because you still need it.

I wish I remembered the girls name that helped me! Very efficient and clear. Knew her way around even though it was only her second week there. She also did a great job balancing the line because when I got there, 2 more people arrived and due to Covid, she was the only person there. My first time having to do storage and I felt assured that I made the right decision. I'm really glad I chose this location as I accidently went to the one in Capital Heights and the representative was very nasty. *Edit 5/22 I am in my final month at this location and have started clearing out my unit. Didn't like the fact that I had to purchase a 17 dollar loçk from Cube smart when I had my own lock on my unit, when mysteriously one other tenant was moving in the same day I was attending to my storage unit, and when I was ready to lock up my lock was stolen of the latch where I kept it while attending to my unit. Sadly, I was out of $19 bucks because I had to pay for a lock though I did not need if the person who stole my lock kept his or her hands to self.

Horrible experience. Customer service was piss poor, and even though I paid for a climate control unit, the place was extremely hot. When I asked to speak to the GM about the issue to see when it would be fixed I was told “give him a refund” meanwhile it’s 5:30 pm and my movers were scheduled to move my stuff at 8:00 am. So I’m stuck with this until not knowing when the ac will be fixed and was told, it’ll be some time next week, after I was called 3x’s in one day to confirm my arrive time to secure the until. I called the customer service Number and requested the DIstrict Manager to give me a call. This is/was a big inconvenience. The fact that I am stuck with this unit and have to pay full price for what’s suppose to be “climate control” is ridiculous! Still waiting on a call back from the DM

My overall experience was great the last few years that I have been a customer, until I notified them that my bank account was compromised when I received notices from Cubesmart. I am a Senior citizen, on disability and notified them that I have moved out of state. Reiterated my banking issues, and if they could give me some time to get the bank issues resolved, I am more than willing to send some money until resolution. I spoke to Ms. Lorraine to apprise her of my situation. She was rude, nasty and disrespectful towards me. I personally visited this establishment via train and metro in spite of my disabilities. Was met with awesome customer service. Ms Lorraine's presence was never there. What a nightmare when I spoke to her over the phone. However, I have no complaints about this facility. This was my very first time using storage. We are doing renovations in our home and needed to make room for the contractors. Kia in the front office is the absolute BEST! She helped me decide what size unit I needed and answered every question I had and even some I didn't know or think to ask! She was patient, sweet and very kind. I love the ease and accessibility of the unit, not to mention it is not far from my house so transporting items is a breeze! The unit is clean, well lit and secure. *****MOLD!!! MOLD!!!! MOLD!!!!***** DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT use Cube Smart to store any of your belongings. My items were stored at this location this time around for only 9 months, and upon going to my unit to remove a few things I noticed everything that was black appeared to have what looked like baby powder sprinkled all over them. Closer inspection revealed they were in fact cover in mold. I went into the office and simply asked how to proceed and the store manager Lorraine immediately had a nasty attitude towards me and told me to come back to take pictures to file an incident report. When I came back I was told a current renter had mold on her belongings and she simply moved her stuff to a new unit. I was also offered to move destroyed moldy items to a new unit. Why were the other renters in the vacinity of her unit not notified of a possible mold problem?? From the immediate disrespect I received from Lorraine for just telling her my items were covered in mold, it appears she was aware for quite some time of the mold issue in the building and she was taking her frustrations out on someone who has been paying $200 a month and had lost all of their belongings. The most insurance you can put on a unit is $5000 and one of my beds alone was $4000. Cube Smart is still demanding the $200 monthly rent to store my destroyed items and the district manager will not give me any information on how to proceed until the insurance claims process is over. I am a transitioning veteran and almost everything I owned from childhood is in that storage unit. They expressed I am responsible for removing all the molded items which is a health hazard or keep paying monthly rent. The behavior of the managers at this location has been beyond negligent and disrespectful. It is very unfortunate because i have used this location to store items before I went into the military, but the new manager Lorraine has not kept the building up to code and the health department will be notified. I will provide an update as things proceed but unless you want to pay to have your belongings destroyed and put your health at risk do not rent here. Pictures are posted of a few items I could see without getting mold on the clothes I was wearing or breathing in the mold spores too longboard . Just beware if you care. ***Additionally, before i went into my unit the day I noticed the mold, I could not find any carts. I asked the front desk lady where they were and she said they are locked up and have to be signed out because the carts are being stolen. I said ok and asked her how would I get a cart to move items in or out when the office is closed and she said you can’t.... You need a code to gain entry into the gate, a code to gain entry into the building and the building is covered in cameras, so I cannot understand why they would penalize every single renter for the actions of some when they have security measures in place..How can you move in or out without carts? Whoever placed this woman Lorraine in a managerial position needs to be re-evaluated themselves for the position they retain. This location is run horribly to say the least and it’s a shame for unsuspecting renters.

So, my settlement got delayed and I had to vacate my condo. I didn't want to pack a truck and move into a storage space for a couple of days, only to have to pack it all up and move in 2 days. I contacted several other storage companies, and they couldn't help me (I can't believe this situation has never happened...smh). Phoned CubeSmart, and they got it done. Everyone, from the initial contact person; to the manager and general manager were totally on point. More than that, they are professional and express empathy. I think a lot of business forget the human side. The humane side. I told the GM this was a very stressful situation for me: buying a home; moving; and not being able to move right in. She understood, and that knocked my stress level way down. CubeSmart gabe me a fair price, and didn't take advantage of my difficult circumstance. The property is spotless and secure. I highly recommend CubeSmart for all your storage needs, even in an emergency. It is refreshing to meet people in a business, that treat you like a human being!

The most horrible experience of my LIFE!! First off the manager Ms.Drummer is the DEVIL!!! She put my lock on someone else's unit without even confirming the unit number. I opens the unit when I get off work and someone else's belongings are in there. Come to find out that's NOT my unit. I was honest and informed her that she had giving me access to the wrong unit and it turned into a nightmare from that point. She yelled and raised her voice to the point the police was almost called because I had to almost put my hands on her. She is Very RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. THEN she goes to say "Next time I won't give a courtesy call so make sure your bill is paid on time so things like this don't happen in the first place." At that point I went from 0 to 100. Lastly she stated she didn't have the key to remove her lock off MY UNIT!!! SO CUBESMART LOCK IS STILL ON MY FULLY PAID UNIT. IF I COULD GIVE 0 STARS I WOULD HAVE.

I am writing this review after visiting the Forestville CubeSmart location with my mother (actual CubeSmart customer). My mom was looking to downsize her unit two weeks ago. Terrence Ross helped set my mom up with the rental truck we used to move a few items out of her old unit. I questioned the company's policy about providing gas receipts when returning the rental truck. Terrence was very professional and provided reasonable responses. He also gave great suggestions on how to dispose of unwanted items. I returned to the CubeSmart location yesterday to help my mom move into her new smaller unit. Upon my late arrival, I discovered my mom was all moved in. She raved about Terrence's stellar customer service. Terrence helped my mom pick out the right size unit to help her save a few dollars. My mom was thoroughly impressed that when she went to access her new unit, the codes at the gates and doors were working right away. Terrence even went above and beyond by helping my mom move a few of the larger, heavier items. When we were preparing to leave, Terrence came outside to follow-up and ensure everything worked out. My mom and I are truly appreciative to Terrence for all of his help. I even noticed that he greeted another customer by name as this individual exited the car. As a customer service representative myself, I love seeing another rep take pride in his/her work, go above and beyond what is required, and ensures the customer has a great experience. For this reason, I definitely recommend CubeSmart in Forestville. Be sure to ask for Terrence Ross!

He provided the best customer experience I have had in long time from any business. He patiently explained to me how the everything worked and what my options were. Terrible customer service. They request an insane amount of personal information without being able to provide ANY written policy stating why the information was needed. Their answer was invariably "that's just our policy". I call the district manager, Steve Early, three times and left him two voice messages. I never received a call back. We contacted cubesmart's legal department multiple times to no avail. This company is a disaster. Find another place for storage!

My experience with this location started off a little rocky, however once the store manager Frederick Ballinger looked into my situation things started going right. He continuously checked in with me, updated me on the progress and gave me his word that he would look into things and he did just that. He fixed the original issue and went above and beyond with his customer service. It's nice to know that customer service still exist and that there are people like Frederick still around. I greatly appreciate his help, dedication and constant communication with me. I highly recommend the staff as well as the location as they truly treat you as a valued customer and work for you, instead of the company.

Doesn't even rate one star...... my unit was broken into after 2 yrs. Office staff along with corporate officers refused to investigate or at least reimburse my insurance deductible. I loss items that could not be replaced!!!! It's very convenient that office staff has access to security cameras.
