We had our furniture stored in a climate controlled unit on the second floor of a CubeSmart unit in Auburn, MA. We paid a premium price for this feature and that is understandable however, when it was time to move we were told that the freight elevator was not working and they had no idea when it would be fixed! This forced us to hire a mover to manually move the contents to the ground level. The stair well was extremely steep!! Not A Happy Camper.....

Zero stars they are the worse to rent from they increased the price without telling you and I called them to say I was going to remove my things out and they locked me out. Wanted a full month when I was leaving out the 7th and added like 200 dollars on top. Nope don't rent here they are the worse. Go somewhere else instead plenty of storage spaces out there. Mind you I was their for years and what is left in the storage is nothing but things to throw out, mind you I rent a truck to remove all of it for they won't get stuck with it and was locked out. I asked I will pay from the first to which was the 7th lady In Off said no to me. Mind I had spoken to a Manger the month before all this and stated it was okay with him and then I get locked out. NOPE SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Why do you want me to send you my information you already have it. Being a customer for many yrs and his is how I get tried, I am putting this in all social media as well.

Honestly if there was a negative star I would have given them!What a rude staff members they got!I haven’t even started on how our storage was vandalized with padlocks that never worked and could open with any key!Rodents had eaten up most of our goods! During our moving out yesterday I needed to pee coz it is a natural process duh…….I took it upon myself to go ask for a washroom to pee coz at this point I was literally going to pee on myself!Mark you they got no washrooms for their clients in the building.I walked to their office since my hubby was busy parking in the storage. I politely asked if I could use the or bathroom just for peeing and not anything else.They started by telling me their colleague is in the bathroom n they gonna “take really long” so I told them I was willing to wait since I was really pressed. Then the rude woman after realizing I wasn’t taking their lie she changed the story to Covid blah blah blah! At this point I was in the verge of crying coz honestly how hard is it to just allow someone to pee with or without Covid!I was masked up I was observing all the rules but no the staff could not have none of it! They started giving me suggestions of where I could go……this is a place where my husband has stored with for years! I believe I was treated so because of my skin color.This wasn’t an isolated incident because we have had our fair share before with the same staff member. You are a pathetic lot! Good ridence!

elevator broken no advise about it, passcode didn't work for two weeks strait, my wife was authorized user but people in the office refused to give her restricted information even when I called and saying OK, 'cause I was working and couldn't be there. She actually had the passcode, but wasn't working, but they insist to say they couldn't give her restrict information, but wasn't the point, there was a problem and they simply ignore that with that no sense and stupid reaction. Every single time that my wife went to put something in the storage, she called someone from the office complaining that the passcode that the system generates wasn't working. I went there one Saturday as a primary holder, but the guy in the office had no idea about what was going on, I waste my time and the problem still for few more days and my wife went through the same nightmare over and over again... unbelievable, pay for a poor and disaster service like that!

Went into facility in Auburn MA for the first time to rent a unit. I was only person in office, and person working the office on the morning of 14Mar2022 couldn’t have been more rude and annoyed someone was bothering her. I went across the street and rented a unit from Extra Space Storage whose office assistant was very helpful. Will never rent from this location.

Oh it got worse. Not only do I have rodents living in my unit found acorns in one of my totes but they are charging $232 from the $111 on Nov 29 2023 Price went up over $40 a within a year with No warning to prepare for the increase. Only warning is the first one when you rent it.

The first time I went in to open the account and get a space, it took well over half an hour because the computer system kept failing and the manager and office person had to keep starting over. The day I moved out, it was around 8:45am. The office didn’t open until 9:30am. “D,” the woman in the office, arrived and I walked toward her to just ask the question “should I wait until you open to close the account or can I just call?” Before I could say a single word, as I walked toward her she started shaking her head and saying “I don’t open until 9:30. I don’t open until 9:30.” I said “I know, can I just ask a question?” She just kept shaking her head at me and talking over me: “I don’t open until 9:30.” She opened the door, walked in and shut it. A short time later I had already left ahead of my moving truck driver. The driver couldn’t get out to leave. He went to the office door. It still wasn’t 9:30, but only a few minutes early. She was sitting in the office, clearly visible. The driver knocked. She ignored him and wouldn’t acknowledge him. He had to call me for assistance (he had entered the code incorrectly). If you are an employee on the property with a Cubesmart shirt on, you represent the company whether the office is open or not. This was the worst, rudest, most immature behavior in any circumstance. I won’t be back. We have plenty of options.

I rented a cube there for over a year, and I can tell you without reservation, go anywhere but there. Why? Because they're cheap as they come. On a scale of 100, they're a 99, maybe 100. I rented a unit on the second floor in the E bldg. It was the R unit. There was one elevator, ok fine. In August last year, the elevator broke. Ohhh, there's probably 50 or 60 units on the 2nd floor. You would think, they would hustle, get it fixed in a few days. No.....they didn't. I left there two weeks ago, they never fixed it. From the manager I got anywhere from I can't believe your not happy that you have to carry everything up and down the dirty concrete steps, to well, I'm waiting for it too. Several months back, she told me it was because they were going to gut the building and renovate. But, I looked, there was ZERO construction started there, in over a year. My guess is they are waiting on a contractor to cut they're bid in half, because that's all they're gonna pay. Hell may freeze over first. Ohh, at the base of the stairwell, in that building, there's a crack at the base of the wall big enough for a rat to drive an suv through. The rat trap there should verify the concern. The front gate was busted for at least a month or so at the end. You've gotta put in your code a few times as the gate gets stuck partway. If anyone doubts or disputes any of this, I have picture and video evidence. You might say, well, I'm not on the second floor of that building, I'm good. But, keep in mind, if anything breaks, a door, an elevator... They're not gonna fix it, or it's gonna be as cheap as possible a hack job. Ohhhh, they had no issue raising the rent 30% in September, trashed elevator, or no. I really enjoyed carrying two tons of stuff down the stairs from the second floor. I'm sure all the others on the second floor did also. If your renting there, good luck. You may need it.

Broken elevator going on for 6 months, every time I went to pay the girl told me will get it fix next week, then in the middle of winter they left an old lady out in the cold while the female employee kept making jokes inside, when it came time for me to go in I let the poor woman in instead. I have a heart condition and it was very hard for me to go up and down the stairs with heavy boxes.

I asked to be placed on a waiting list for a certain location months ago and they never called. When I called to check recently, they had the spot available. I reserved the spot and then the games began. "You need to lock it in with the hour or you may lose it". What's the point of a reservation? So I check out the spot -it's the one - and then the money games begin. 1/2 price for the first month but there's a one-time $24 fee and then get this - you are REQUIRED to purchase insurance now which adds a minimum of $12 a month which they don't disclose in the monthly rate until right before you sign! Sounds like bait and switch? Not at all they say, "It's part of the additional charges". Really? 15% in extra charges?! So I ask if I could have a lower rate on my existing storage location and they said they would look into it AFTER I signed the new lease, but no promises. (Still no call 2 weeks later). I said that this was not good business but the manager said I could go elsewhere if I didn't like it! Then I asked why my rates kept going up? The reply was there were automatic increases built in. This was NEVER covered. So I said that they care more about getting new customers then keeping good customers - no reply. So if you need a 6-month storage unit and lousy customer service - this is the place for you. If you want longer-term storage, don't want to be on the receiving end of every used car salesmen tactic and don't want to get auto-increases every 6 months, find somewhere else.

I had a friend who just bought a storage unit and I went here to help him move his stuff and an associate came outside and said I can’t park in front of the gate, mind you I wasn’t parked in front of the gate. My friend was just around the corner literally 3 minutes away and she said I couldn’t wait 3 minutes for him and had to move. She treated me like a common criminal. Seems secure and the staff is friendly, but the hidden fees add up fast. Beware, there is an admin fee, and required insurance that nearly doubled my quoted price. Other than that, it's a convenient location and seemed pretty clean, although ins and outs are cumbersome, and needed repairs to the facility are hard to miss , like the main exit is tapped off with caution tape and is not functional.

When this facility was family run a Casey Storage it was great. Once Cubesmart took over the storage price doubled in four years. The fees went up to the point where a late fee was $30.00. I would NOT recommend doing any business with them. There are other storage places in Auburn, MA that I have better experience with.

When I arrived my gate pin was already in the system and your very helpful manager got me my lock, keys, and showed me to my unit. I call Saturday night customer service. Sunday morning I was there. Always someone to talk. The staff is super great. They are honest and helpful. Great price. I’ve shopped around for a month and trust me, they are real and the best. I might keep them longer then expect it!

Had dealt with Chester, Evan and Destiny on many questions and options with my deallings with cubesmart. All were willing to assist me. Best staff I'v dealt with for a storage place. Had terrible experiences at other locations in the past. Best choice for me. Great job.

My 5x5 storage unit is only 4' 4" long on one side! That is a nearly 14% reduction in size from what I'm paying for. After several phone calls they offered me a $4.00 dollar deduction in my bill. 4 bucks, that's it. My recommendation would be to avoid this property all together and to bring a tape measure with you wherever you may look for storage.

Confused about why they raise the rent annually for the customers who are loyal and keep a unit rented? Shouldnt they be like rewarded? I see constant promotions for units giving 1 month free rent just to stay for 2 months and get half the rent a month? Then it might sit unrented ?? WHAT?? I'm now paying 50% more since I first started renting! And that 50% increase I'm talking was after the promotional deal ended! Just to know I'm not fluffing the numbers...

The facility is clean and meets my storage needs, better than most others in the area. However, service from the site office and from corporate office is below acceptable. Make sure you read absolutely every word of every document they mail to you. Then try not to get to mad when they do something different than what is written in their rental agreement.

Every time I’ve been here while moving, Dave has never missed a chance to see if I need help, or just known how to help and gone for it, from bringing me a water on a hot day while moving, to asking his wife to drop off a tool I on her way by, and a handful of other things, in just a month. I’ve had good luck at a few Cube Smart locations, but Auburn is above and beyond. Those kindnesses, big and small, go a long way when you’re moving, hot, and stressed, so I couldn’t have picked a better place to stash my stuff!

Please note that there has been a management change at the Washington St location since we initiated our rental in March; our review reflects the new manager (otherwise this would be a 3 star review at best). We needed a short term storage solution when we put our house on the market. Having had good experiences with the Webster location, we didn't hesitate to secure a unit in Auburn. We initially rented a 10 x 15 unit and packed it solid. With the relocation company needing to assess our items, we called to inquire about an additional unit in proximity to our existing rental. Dave went out of his way to survey the available units and give us detailed info. In fact, the unit we added was not actually available on the inventory list when we spoke. However, he knew that it had recently emptied and set it aside for us. Dave was responsive, detailed and great to work with; moving is stressful and he's taken a bit of that stress off of us.

NO REFUND POLICY I screwed up and needed a larger unit. The CubeSmart I was at did not have a drive up unit and 65 and 60 year old women didn't need to hump furniture up stairs. We had to go to another location. NO REFUND POLICY !!! Fortunately, I was able to get the 1st month free at the new location and didn't have to pay another admin fee, but this policy is not right.

Worst experience with a storage unit company, When Kasey's owned it before hand it was great, now that Cube Smart has taken over the overall maintenance of the units have gone downhill! We were upset to find roaches in our unit and threw away a handful of belongings out of precaution. Overall this experience has cost me time and money! Please look the other way and find a different place to store your belongings.

USE TO BE GOOD BUT NOW THAT IT IS UNDER CUBESMART OWNERSHIP IT IS THE WORST. LOOK FOR SOME PLACE ELSE UNLESS YOU WANT A LOT OF STRESS. Have been a customer for 10 plus years. Was Auburn Self Storage, then KC Storage both were real good and I never had a problem. Now that CUBESMART has taken over it is like banging your head against a wall. The staff can not even spell my name correct and for 6 months I have been unable to get a small little thing like that changed. The staff has hung up on me, cost me money by billing me wrong. The NEW staff will tell you want ever just to get you out of the office or off the phone and do nothing that they said they will do and you will have the same problem. 7 month later and they get worse every month. The lies are unreal. Told you have to pay a service charge each month so that you can use a credit car to pay monthly bill. Then they do not process the payment lock you out then charge you late fees and even the so called store manager Jasmine is incompetent in doing her job. Once in a while they get someone good but the good people never stay long.

Easy access to storage area. I initially reserved a space via website/telephone, and the space was further explained upon my arrival to the storage facility to ensure I understood what was being purchased. They also give the option of viewing the space before committing to it. Process was clearly explained, some things to note if using in Massachusetts: Need to carry insurance based upon your selection of value of items being stored. This is a separate fee from the storage fee, and is charged monthly. There is a one time administration fee which is reasonable, especially considering I was able to get a first month free option (did not need to commit to any number of months for first month free; however, there was language on the website that for the 2 months free option, you needed to plan for a minimum of 6 months, with the first and last months being your free months). Overall, great option and value.

We called the Aunurn Store last minute and Adam was so helpful and patient. We had to call twice to change our arrival time. Adam was happy to accommodate us and could not have been more pleasant and knowledgable. We then called AGAIN when our Over suggested we needed a larger storage unit. Again, Adam made that happen for us and was happy to do so! In a world where service is sorely lacking, Adam is a surprise and a joy to encounter. This was the best service we have encountered in a very long time. Thank you, Adam!!
