It's first time using cube smart storage, I have to admit I was a little intimated due to the fact that they're mostly new. So I assumed that they must be crazy expensive compare to the older storage companies around. But I was.so wrong about it, actually found out that they're very competitive with their prices even if they're an upgrade version of the previous storage I used before. I'm very happy with them and staff are very accommodating and have exceptional interpersonal skills that made me feel comfortable around them. It's the most secured facility I've ever been in my opinion. Keep up the good work! Special thanks to Angela for keeping the facility on tip top shape! ??

Pros - Nice storage facility, great intro rates, nice staff. Cons - Raised rent after 2 months, and now, less than a year in, my storage unit has gone up 80% in price, which is extremely excessive. I'm essentially paying for 2 units for the price of one at this point. It takes a lot of work to move items in and out of storage, and with the long-term being the goal for a lot of people, more consistent pricing would work much better for those who budget these types of expenses. Extremely disappointed.

Lots of hidden fees that they do not disclose. They charge for monthly insurance, which is totally fine, but they do not accept you purchasing your own insurance, which is significantly cheaper per month, and have much better coverage. They also transfer you back and forth on the phone from office to corporate, and back again. Waste of time.

Cube smart bought out unit I was renting and in 6 month raised my rate twice and 2nd time no notice. My $140 unit was already high rate for area is now almost $200. Stay away

Excellent on site customer service! I have used several storage facilities in this area. This is my second time back at this location and by far my favorite storage facility! David got me into the perfect unit for my needs (correct size and affordability). I was considering a bigger unit on the 1st floor but once I went onsite and David happily took the time to show me different sizes the one I nearly booked online would have been too big. He also showed me second floor units I had not considered out of concern for potential lack of carts after my last experience with a different storage company. This facility is clean and there are at least 5 carts that I saw which are always available (not locked up when office staff leave at 6pm like the other company in Troy). Bathrooms are a bonus and the best feature is indoor loading/unloading.

Want to share my entire moving experience. Moving is one of the most stressful and discouraging experiences I’ve ever had. I used a local moving company that was the worst I’ve ever dealt with. I hired Lothepro moving with detailed lists of the household items. The owner Lawrence stated he could ‘take care of me’. He did no such thing. He arrived in a standard U-Haul truck unprepared. He will tell you many times “I got you”. Lawrence lied! After being paid, I mistakenly signed the release at the moving facility, which released him from his obligations. He stated that he was going to unload the moving truck, and return for the next load. After a few hours, I called him thinking he was held up unloading the truck. He never returned. I’m now assuming he’d rather watch the Lions game than honor his commitments. Took several calls before he would return my calls, and he stated he never made any agreement to come back to finish the move. Lothepro left me in a lurch. I learned a valuable lesson. Even after the payments are made, do not sign the release until they have done what they were contracted to do. Now for CubeSmart. If I could rate this storage facility 20 stars I would. My initial contact with CubeSmart was with David. Moving and storing your belongings can be part of the worst time in your life, and David helped make the process as smooth as could be. The level on professionalism and information he provided was invaluable. David would come out to the unit as we were arriving!! He did this. Also if I had any question about the logistics, he was there. The facility on metro parkway near mound is climate controlled and extremely clean. The units are in excellent condition, and if you’re lucky enough to get a first floor unit, you can drive your vehicle into the building, across from your unit. You’ve got to see this place to believe it.

First impressions are everything. And I was fooled. Angela Dr. Strange. On all accounts she has been wrong. The turnover of employees 4 since December. Be Aware. I was handed a letter saying I was terminated. After days of trying to contact management I was told that Angela taken a picture of me and accused me of sleeping and labeled me as loitering. Voyageristic. There has to be some law against this type of creepiness. Who does this. But here's the kicker. They say I can't have it. Y'all. Wrong. Watch out. This reminds me out Get Out.

The man who called me on 10/31/2023 was extremely rude and unprofessional. you should be able to conduct yourself on the phone with a customer. you do not yell at them and threaten them, I was never made aware of the dumpster not intended for customer use. Angela on the other hand very pleasant and wonderful to deal with and very helpful. she helped my moveout process to end on a good note.

I made a reservation for Monday to look at a unit and my situation got to where I needed a new storage place immediately. I called the Cube Smart right before closing time and made mention of how I needed a safe place for my things. Angela, the manager, was great at understanding my desperation, and She stay late helping Me get settled in. Before this my last rental place had really poor security and I was losing sleep over it. I was so, so relieved, and this place is better in every way over the place I was glad to get out of. Thank You so much Angela!!

The building itself is very nice but the entire operation is poorly ran. First off how do you have several hundred units and only one cart? Next, the staff is impossible to find, that is when/if they decide to even show up. Lastly, the regional manager Cathy is rude and clueless. I'd imagine that's why she's been transferred around the country for the last 37yrs. Prices are great, establishment is just too unprofessional.

Affordable units (huge reason I picked CubeSmart, if I had to pay too much more I would not be as thrilled), very clean and easily accessibility space, well designed building, can fit a 12 foot tall truck in-doors, quick and easy unit reservation and purchase, "that-day" availability and "move-in," and good "on-site/over-counter" customer service. Your "on-site" representative at the Sterling Heights location, Alyssa, is good at her job. If anyone complains about her, I doubt they are worth listening to whole heartedly.

I would have like to given five stars because I have used this location before. But I had a terrible experience this go round. The customer service was the worse. The agent had an attitude and was not helpful. The unit I reserved was not available at the price I was quoted and I ended up with a unit 2 sizes smaller than reserved. And The manager never answered the phone.

I am changing my review, because Cubesmart has proven to a grimey, Capitalistic company that is gouging its customers with huge price increases that are not warranted, because my service has not changed. It is storage. They make money from having rooms to store stuff. They do nothing. They charge to pay your bill. For some reason companies like this always trade honesty and transparency for cash and simple monetary gains. The first month is NOT free. Not a deal breaker for me but I can see people being fooled by the false advertising. Companies like this also don't face and consequences for dishonest advertising which is crazy to me but thats the USA. $25 for "admin fee", $20 for a lock that can't be used anywhere but with their units, and of course $20 for "insurance" if you don't have rental/HO insurance of your own but I don't recalls seeing that as a option at all. Since they are not transparent I thought I might as well be. You're likely to pay at least a third of the monthly rent for move-in/first month.

Brand New! Easy - I mean easy access into the facility. I have rented a 10x30, with DRIVE through access! Temperature control, site management is amazing. Went above and beyond with helping me choose the right size storage and EXTREMELY friendly. I just moved from TX and went to several different storage locations and this one is SUPER CLEAN. Rates are great and STRONGLY recommended this place for storage of your goods.
