Unfortunately I had a bad experience today. I went there twice, door was locked. I called and someone come to open it. Was a nasty, mean and rude guy. I don't know his name. When he opened the door, he said, I was in a meeting! Well, if you want to do business, you should have someone taking care of customers. So, I asked about 5×5 storage unit, he was rude. He showed me the unit and said that was a promotion! On their website the price was much lower than the price he told me. Anyway, I walked out and will never go back there. If I could, I would give than a O stars ??????

Do not rent anything from here. They raise the rent anytime they want. I got charged twice in 1 year. They raised it to 300 when I was paying 230 so I was told to move to a different unit which I did, and 4 months later they raised it again to 292. Please don’t let them rip you off

The prices skyrocketed within just one year. If you're even a few days late (4 days), brace yourself for a text and email warning that access to the rented space will be denied until full payment of all outstanding rent and charges is received. Mind you I wasn’t only one month late. They might even give you a call. The call I received was from a lady and I had paid my bill but she didn’t refresh her screen before calling. I’m currently looking for a better storage facility. I see lots of complaints and not just on google review. I will be reaching out to their corporate headquarters regarding this.

After moving out from a home I was renting & I was unable to buy a home in a timely manner due to the SHADY/VICIOUS “Housing market situation”, I managed to get a 10x15 storage unit at CubeSmart Self Storage for a great price. “John” who is the manager of the facility (East Brunswick,NJ) is respectful, professional, eager to help and a great individual overall. Because of his hospitality/customer service, I ended up getting an additional storage unit to accommodate my need(s). The facility is always clean, bathroom(s) also clean. The ONLY concern that I have is “I wish you could get access to the storage facility a bit later than 10pm”. Other than that, I’m happy with this facility/location. Lastly, it’s unfortunate some folks may have had a bad experience, but things happen in life and you cannot please everyone.

I'm writing this review to prevent someone else from making the same mistake I did by signing a storage agreement with CubeSmart self storage company. Their rent increases are frequent and outrageous. They lured me in with a low rate and within 5 months I had a substantial increase and then another even greater substantial increase 11 months later. I feel they have no customer loyalty as they offer their new customers good rates at the expense of their existing customers. I would suggest, before signing an agreement with CubeSmart, you read all of the negative reviews. Consumer Affairs gives them a 1.7 rating out of 5. The Pissed Consumer site states they have an 82% unfavorable rating. From what I see, when you post a bad review they tell you to contact the store. In my experience, when I contacted the store manager, I was told there is nothing they can do to lower your rates as they are set by the corporate office and out of their control. I found I was unable to escalate the problem as it always gets directed back to the store without any resolution. I'm in the process of contacting the CEO, Christopher Marr, hoping to bring attention to their poor business practices.

Half of our belongings were molded, which we discovered on the day of move out. I was greeted with arrogance from the employees, insisting that it had to be my fault, even though rain was soaking the carpet INSIDE the facility. How many other times did that happen in the two years we had our stuff there? Abject denial from Cube Smart - the party line is "the building is climate controlled". Yep - so are houses, and they get mold all the time. Why? From MOISTURE! Cannot in good conscience recommend this facility.

Newer, clean facility. I do not recommend for long term storage because my rate for my 10x15 unit went from $288 to $319 to $354 a month within 15 months. I liked it here but was able to find double the space for less money and a locked in rate elsewhere.

So today I received a text message from cube-smart about charging me extra because i was 4 days late , decided to call because i have been out of the country and I couldn’t receive text messages. I talked to John “ store manager” I explained to him that i was out of the country and i lost my wallet. I asked him to wave the extra fee if possible. He said he cant , which was fine with me. Then he hanged up the phone. So i called back like hey can i talk to the other female manager that helped me the first day, he said no, i asked him why he is being rude? I said am trying to bamboozle him, and he has dealt with my kind before. I told him please give me the market directors’s or someone above you name or number, he hanged up. I called a couple of time again he sent me to voicemail and threatened to call the cops and get a restraining order. I don’t alway do bad reviews but John you need help, if you dnt like your job please look for another job, if you are having a bad day just take the day off. Hope you keep your job because it looks like you do not like your job. I will come get my stuff and take my business some other place as you suggested I really hope someone sees this and takes action or helps john. THANK YOU

Though it's a relatively new and clean facility, it is poorly conceived. There's just one (working) entrance that is across from the parking lot. There's just a single ramp and limited space where many people try to park (often large U-Hauls and other trailers) in the traffic lane of the shopping center. It's very inconvenient. There are only four moving carts provided for a facility with two floors and hundreds and hundreds of units. I often had to wait for a moving cart as others would use two, three, or all four of them. Just a really bad way to set up storage. Do yourself a favor and choose a site with multiple points of access to your unit and ask how many carts they have!

I rented a 10x10 unit for about 9 months! This unit is huge, o managed to put so much stuff in here. This unit help to saved us lots of money by no being force to rented an studio! So happy for that. Unbelievable how neat this cube smart facility is. Brand new ,great air conditioner/heater, spotless, secure, easy to navigates through the areas, big and quick elevators. I moved out of state that’s why needed to empty out the unit! Otherwise I would keep it for ever. This facility has plenty of parking and a loading dock. Great experiences with this cube-smart facility.

I've been renting a large unit for over 2 years, while it is a clean facility their rate increases are outrageous. They lure you in initially with low rates. They raised my rent 11% after 5 months and now 11 months later they are raising me 15%! They have left me no choice but to find a new facility. Although this is a convenient location my experience was unpleasant and off putting. John who answered the phone is rude and curt. He speaks too fast and sounds like he has marbles stored in his mouth. Candance who answers phone in customer service wasn’t very helpful and gave contradicting information. CubeSmart appears to want their customers to come in to bring renters insurance declaration page for them to deem as appropriate coverage. Asked John if I can fax or email. He flat out said NO. However, Candance said it could be faxed. She or John could not provide a valid reason why it couldn’t fax or email. I didn’t have to come in to sign up for business. Waiting to hear from District Manager Jeanette. Currently a 2 day turnaround time. Doesn’t take them 2 days to automatically draft my account each month. They don’t have to chase me to pay so why must I jump through hoops. I will be ending my business with them soon. I do not recommend.

The lack of customer service etiquette and accommodation is real at the East Brunswick, NJ location. General store manager John was very Kurt and not friendly. Both managers Leo and John were unwilling to accommodate a storage upgrade and keep their one month free promotion after only having my cube for two days. They did not care that I was cancelling my account with them and responded "ok no problem" because they weren't willing to accommodate a customer. I was given a lock that is useless anywhere else but CubeSmart and was not offered a refund for such a useless lock after cancelling two days after. I will never be returning to that location nor any CubeSmart ever again. Experience ruined. Would not recommend. More customer service etiquette training is needed. The objective is to keep customers and not run them away two days after they signed up with you. Please do better.

As someone that's had to move a handful of times in recent years this was the 4th time I've had to get a storage unit from a 4th different storage franchise. This CubeSmart has to be the cleanest storage building I've ever been to. I also like that fact they've put carpeting down which keeps the noise to a minimum when rolling a heavy cart through the echoey hallways. First time using storage. Chose cubesmart, it's closest to my home. It's new didn't have any expectation before going there. But the team really impressed me. John, Leni and Leo- all are so humble professional and kind. The experience is so pleasant. As a customer that's very essential. I highly recommend this place to anyone. God bless them.

The office atmosphere is unfriendly. I didn't feel comfortable dealing with the manager. The cube I saw was clean. The manager gave me a cube close to the elevator. While filling out paperwork the manager was very forceful and I didn't care for his attitude. He didn't explain the lease and never explained why I had to purchase their insurance and forced me to buy their lock. Manager tells me to out lock on cube after purchasing but didn't show me how to get to the cube again. I complained about the staff in this location. I wouldn't recommend renting from this location.

This facility is so accommodating for any size unit you need. I was checking out storage places and after just one visit I found a great size here. It is clean, affordable and very well built. It is all climate controlled and lit up for a comfortable visit any time you must visit it for your belongings. Our salesman Leo and Lenny, of the office staff were very helpful with our questions and decisions. A great find!

Before I review, I just want to give some background information. I tend to move around about once a year due to work obligations and have probably stored my belonging at 15 different facilities with different storage companies all across America. This Cubesmart is one of the best storage facilities in the Central NJ area if not the country. It is a BRAND NEW facility that is climate controlled and has a variety of different storage size options all enclosed into 1 large building. The facility has two loading docks for full size trucks with enough space for a 52’ truck to maneuver. The loading dock has to automatic standard size garage doors to move large items inside with ease. The surrounding area is shopping centers but the facility is secluded enough that parking is not an issue if you need to pick up things from your unit. The hallways are wide and carpeted and they have complimentary dollies to move your items into the unit. There are access doors to the building independent from the main leasing office and you are provided with your own personal pin to enter the facility through these access doors. There are cameras all over the property as well. Lastly, there is enough space on the latch for your unit to attach 3 different locks for extra security. The manager John is very courteous and tries to ensure every need is met to the best of his ability. I was able to reserve the unit online along with a purchase of a lock. I arrived to the facility and all the documentation was left in my unit to ensure contactless service. They follow all COVID19 recommendations. Rental payment for the unit is easy and can be done online. No need to show up in person. Bottom Line: 10/10 for Service. 10/10 for Value. 10/10 for Conditions of the Storage Unit.

What a great facility - super clean, organized, well run. My friend & I rented spaces the same day and dealt with Leo - what a pleasure! He took his time with us, explained everything, even showed us multiple spaces to make sure we were renting the right size space for our needs. Mind you there are several storage places 5 minutes from my house, but I chose this one & I'm so glad I did! Highly recommend checking them out!

I met with the staff at CubeSmart in East Brunswick Leo/John. They were super accommodating. Addressed all my concerns. Leo/John were professional and courteous through my walkthrough. I was shown various size units. They asked what I'd be storing and provided knowledge based unit size for my needs. The location is brand new you - You owe it yourself to visit!
