My experience at Cubesmart was a beautiful one. First of all, the greeting I received from Kim on the phone was exceptional. She made me feel like I was a VIP customer and I was looking forward to coming to Cubesmart. In fact, interacting with her was one of the most positive experiences of my day. Kim made me feel welcomed and assured that she would do all she could to assist me. When I got to the facility I was upset and emotional as I was working through the recent death of my employer/friend. Kim was kind and showed care to me, a stranger. She lifted my spirit in a time of great need. During my second interaction, I was having a difficult time securing someone to help me move because of time constraints and Kim helped me to figure out the best solution. At that time, I heard her dealing with another customer on the phone and she gave them the same exceptional service I had received. Then at the conclusion of my visit she even went above and beyond to assist me with getting a chair in the car. This type of customer service is not typical. It’s very unusual for someone to put extra effort in for just an ordinary customer. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed. As you know, Cubesmart is not the only storage facility in the area, but when a person gets customer service like I did from Kim it makes it the leading contender. I would definitely recommend your facility to others because of Kim’s service. She is an asset to your company. Her demeanor was friendly and she brightened my day. Their pricing is a scam. Started with a unit costing $80. K. A very short period of time it became $200. They bank on the fact that once you’re there it’s hard to leave and can keep charging you more and more.

Update: August 2024, moved out! The staff Tenisha and Kim were very friendly and accommodating. The facility is clean and everything works well and the gate was fixed and easy to access Previous post (June 2024): Signing up and Moving in after office hours was simple. The app makes it easy. Only negative is the gate is broken and it doesn’t seem like it will be fixed anytime soon. I met the one of the office staff, Kim is a pleasure to work with. I notified her that my lightbulb was out and she apologized on CubeSmart’s behalf and immediately came out to change it. With workers like Kim, the customers will never have a problem :)

Had a wonderful experience renting a unit here. I reserved a unit online, and got a call within an hour or two to come in and check out the unit. Luckily I work nearby and was able to swing by after work to check it out. I'm pleased with the grounds, the cleanliness of the unit and office, and the service was excellent ! Spaces are very nice but the company resorts to Bait and Switch schemes to get you there. They advertise the first month is free. My first month cost $62.95, not free. They advertise that the rate online is discounted by 40 %. The extensive small, print, leasing agreement you are forced to sign makes it clear that after you have installed all your goods in your space, at considerable effort, and perhaps expense, management has the right to raise your rate at any time and for any reason with 30 days notice. The lease agreement, outlines circumstances under which they would be responsible for loss or damage. A few paragraphs later you are forced to waive your rights to each of these. I guess these are the luxuries of a company that does not require satisfied customers, and repeat business.

I’ve been renting here for more than 2 years now and yet they never increased my rent. Also a safe place to stop by even at 9pm. And most of all, the air conditioner still functions at night. In metuchen, air conditioner works less starting at 6pm, so i feel suffocated and had to rush outside. Staff are very helpful too, and accommodating too.

This is my first time using cube smart. My family and I arrived 15 minutes prior to closing time. Luckily the ladies were still there to help us get in. They were friendly and professional. Once Kim explained where I needed to go, unfortunately, I was unable to get into my storage facility because the combination to the temporary lock did not work. It was now after 5:00 and I drove back as the ladies were getting ready to drive away. Kim took the time to go back into the office and get the correct combination for the lock. Then she followed me back to my storage container and open the lock for us. She explained that we had the wrong combination. She is very helpful and very personable, and a lifesaver. As we had already unpacked everything to store and had I not rushed back to the office we would’ve been stuck. I appreciate Kim taking time to help us. Thank you. I moved out last week and left a voicemail since it was a Sunday and the office was closed. The team took care to close my account. Everyone at Cube Smart on Easton Ave is professional helpful friendly and personable. Especially Kim! Thank you for all you do daily to help others. You and your team are truly appreciated. To be fair, everyone was great and friendly and treated me with respect for 5 years, so I have to give props for that The reason for the 1 is because of the very last week upon discoving that they used unscrupulous lying and sales techniques to get us keeping our large and unnecessary unit costing us thousands of wasted dollars. Well, they are a business after all. I heard, "there's nothing at this time" to the more creative, "Well prices fluctuate, so in the end you could end up paying more for a smaller unit.". But at the end, after over 5 years of perfect.. Well.. Everything, a little professional courtesy would have been warranted in waiving the late fee for a few days while we were a few days past the time of moving out. But no, they didn't take into account that the unit belongs to a 73 year old physically and mentally unhealthy woman who relies on her son that works 60 hours a week. Just very unclassy, spoke to the general manager, district manager, and the COO of the company. Same B.S., Pay Us!! Even resorted to scaring my mother by threatening her credit if we didn't pay. Just sleazy company tactics. I could take it to small claims and with the paperwork about how my mom isn't in sound mind to enter into a legally binding contract to begin with. Still deciding if it is worth it. That about sums it up. Otherwise, Unit is clean and well kept up with.

The employee was 5 star. The physical office was not very inviting. Very little desk space/area. Did not look inviting at all. If not for the AMAZING employee (so very sorry I can not remember her name at the moment but her enthusiastic and thoughtfulness was unforgettable!!). She (employee) made my first time renting a storage unit experience delightful ??. She was well informed. Answered all my questions. The only negative experience I had was probably the office. It was my understanding that it had just been redone. The desks looked so uncomfortable and awkward. I owned my own business for over 30 years and I found out very early on that it is very important to make sure my employees were always comfortable in their work space. Perhaps corporate should rethink the desk space again? Besides that, my experience was truly enjoyable mostly due to the employee who helped me. Please note: The employee never complained about anything. It was my observation regarding the desks. Hopefully your employees are comfortable in their workplace. This place needs some major work! May be "climate controlled", but insides have a mildew/pee smell. Door closers don't close or are broken off. Doorway thresholds need a transition - can't get a flat cart to go over the 2" ( at least) bump-up...especially with a loaded cart.

It was an absolute pleasure to work with Kim, the manager. She was always pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable. The unit, hallways, outside areas were always clean and well maintained. Kim followed up with us to check on our satisfaction after move in. She also called because she had noticed our unit no longer had a lock on it. We had just emptied the unit earlier in the day and I had not had a chance to call to let her know. An entirely different experience from our last one with Public Storage.

I just moved from Somerset to Freehold and she went so far as to call CubeSmart In Freehold To say I might be moving my things to the Freehold Cubesmart and gave me the name of the store manager she spoke to and what the cost would be. When I finally moved out of the Easton Avenue location she was incredibly nice, giving me a granola bar and a small spider plant as a parting gift.

Customer service here is top notch, the units are clean and presentable and the overall feel is welcoming. I am in the process of buying a home and my closing just got pushed back two weeks, creating a super stressful situation where I had no idea what I would do with my belongings during the unexpected and extended period of time before my move. I visited the Somerset Cube Smart location in need of a quick assistance and had Kimora and Anna helping me. The two of them were so kind, so patient and so helpful, that when I left, I forgot how stressed I felt when I arrived. Cubesmart was a good choice for our office storage purpose because of its roomy and spacious stores, The place is clean and they have 2 convenient locations in Somerset itself. The Manger, Kim and the rest of the staff were very helpful and friendly and made our experience there very pleasant. But on the down side though, we found them to be a little expensive. Anthony was great, professional, relocated my garage for me due to some pavement repairs that were going to start in that area. when we walked down the space after talking in the office he saw the impacted area in front of my garage. He remembered me saying I would be frequently visiting moving items both in and out and he simply took me to another location so I wouldnt have any incoviences accessing my garage during the construction. Needed to store a few college apartment furnishings. The staff was quick, friendly and always responsive. The climate controlled units were perfect and not musty. The units are clean! Never had a problem parking, loading/unloading. Did I mention the units were CLEAN!!!! I’ve rented other locations that smelt like previous renters or neighboring units... I was so happy the items we stored don’t smell musty, or like a locker room!!! Will definitely rent here again!!!

I had such a bad experience at the cube smart in somerset NJ. I chose to use cube smart because my last experience was amazing. The people, the service, the space was just great. However the one in somerset, NJ was just terrible. It was so bad the movers suggested i find another storage spot but i couldn’t because i had to go back to work and my company already paid for the transfer. I will NEVER use this storage company again!

Definitely a clean and organized facility that is not the issue , the issue is the nickel and diming that happens after you get the initial price. Aside from the rental tax you get charged adminstrative fee which is high, the protection plan, the lock (at 18.00) , then on top of that when you pay online they charge you a convenience fee. Again all is good with the physical but I will look at other alternatives that don't nickel and dime.

It seemed I was being warned. It was not a pleasant experience at this location. Try the one on Veronica Avenue instead.

It was a Saturday when I went to Cube Smart, the manager was unfortunately by himself and rather busy, but that didnt stop him from being courteous and helpful. He showed me several spaces until I found just what I needed. The area is clean and I feel very safe going by myself. I like that my unit is climate controlled. but when I went there late one night, it seemed a bit chillier than I expected. I like the keypad entry system, but would like brighter lights on the keypads themselves.
