Previous unit rent was hiked after approximately 3 months. Had to switch unit on same floor to reduce rent. Units were same size. Staff polite - but saving is of maximum importance to the consumer. Review #2 (4/4/24) I received an email after above review and responded. No one replied or called from Cubesmart. Now they’ve increased the rental rate on my unit again. I called their customer service and was told that the manager on the location could help me, but when I went there the manager said he could not. Cubesmart has no regards for people’s time. I was not able to speak with a general manager and I was just being passed around. They are not transparent when dealing with customers. If I could give a negative rating, I most certainly would. I tried to give zero stars, but the app would not let me.

1980 White Plains Road: Convenient location near buses and trains. Access 7 days a week. No matter the time of the day, employees, Princess and Devin, were always friendly and helpful. Facility was always clean and well ventilated. Moving in and moving out was quick and easy. I would definitely recommend this storage facility!

They lore you in with a pretty reasonable rates for the storage unit. Then within a year they'll raise it to a crazy ridiculous price. Forcing you to either have to pay or move. Let's just say I will not be dealing with this storage facility name no longer. I will find other ones that have more competitive rates. I was paying $372 a month. Now their charging me $448. From one day to the next. They didn't even honor their 30 day notice. Very unethical and very unprofessional. If you can store your belongings in some other facility not cube smart!

Beware!! Beware!! Beware!!! Sales will tell you anything to get you to sign up for a storage unit!! Now I’m told the price rate can hike up to 200% now that I’m all moved in. When looking into the perfect storage for my needs I made sure to ask as many questions as possible. One important question was regarding yearly rate hikes. I asked how much does the storage rate go up yearly and was told the market rate will change yearly and would not go up more than $20 to the most $30 a month which is rare it not to high. So to my surprise after only being in the unit for 4 months the price hike to $54 more with only a month notice. I called to inquire, this is when I was told the real truth. That unit storage rates can go up to 200% percent with very little notice. So if you are looking for long term storage beware! You’ve been warned! I just wish someone wrote a review about this before I signed up. Update: This year 2024 my unit is now going up an additional $44.. so that means my storage unit has gone up by $98 in less that a year and a half. I was fully aware that my storage unit would go up in price but was told when I initially signed up that it would not go up more $20 to $30 a year. Just to get me to sign up. Beware!!

It was very easy to rent a storage unit, I was shown many different available ones and given options to choose what spot I wanted. Had the unit for a few years never had any issues, always was sent emails to remind me of payments, my belongings stayed perfectly intact for years. The price increased every year/few months to a point where it became almost double the original price but I guess that's expected with inflation, not crazy unaffordable but enough to drive me to finally take my stuff out of storage and do something with it than just paying to have stuff sit there for years.

This company is dishonest and unethical! My mother had a storage locker and passed away. As her son I showed them a death certificate with my identification as well as my sisters. They would not allow us to gain access to my mothers property. Legally i am to go through a lengthy legal process with lawyers and the court to obtain executor of estate documentation. This would talk 3 months to a year since it must go through the court system. As time passed they informed us that they would have to auction the locker for non payment. I offered to pay. They said yes. But i would still be unable to access my mothers property. next they said I could bid on it at the auction. so perfect strangers can have access to my moms property but I cant and I am her son? So I said okay I'll outbid folks for it. Days before the auction they call to confirm the auction. So I asked " How will I know which items belonged to my mom?" They cant tell me that.. Are you kidding me? Bunch of criminals If I could give these shysters less than a star I would. There are no doubt family items that would be valuable to me and my sisters. But strangers have more right to it than we do. My mother is gone , all I have is memories and few items from her home. I'll never know what she was keeping at cubsmart. But they will surely profit from it. How can anyone work there! Dishonest and unethical and apathetic!

Very impressed with this facility. Very fair prices, extremely clean. I got a call from the manager as soon as I booked my space online. Yes, a real human being actually placed a phone call to me. Will wonders ever cease? That was a nice touch. A very nice extra was they lend you a rather large U-Haul truck for four hours with only a $10 administrative fee. (They call it a van but it is more like a truck.)

Needed to store a few items to make space in my apt and was recommended CubeSmart. I made a reservation online and in no time I received a call from Cube Smart on White Plains Road in the Bx. I can’t remember the woman who called but she was so pleasant over the phone and answered all my questions. I received a call the morning of my reservation to confirm what time I would be arriving from another pleasant female employee. Upon my arrival, I was checked in by Crystal Ventura who step by step took me through the process of deciding which storage would work for me. She made me feel like a friend rather than a customer, which led me to realize, I needed a bigger storage for my needs. Super Pleasant and ultra professional service every step of the way. I would recommend to anyone and everyone who has a need to store their things. A++ treatment, service and facility.

Very nice staff. Calls if your unit looks like it's open. Only dislike about the place is the separation of how to access the unit and the front desk. Have to walk outside to get/return key for hand cart. Also, the driveway is constantly blocked by people cars that's waiting to get their car washed.

I have a unit here and while the facility is relatively neat, it's a headache and a half just to deal with contacting them. Not only do they not answer the phone when you call with a question; you literally get two different answers to the same question (depending on who you ask). Therefore, my one star is for the cleanliness of the facility; but, not for the horrible customer service.

I've never left reviews before..weither I had a negative or positive experience but I'm taking this time in hopes that the General Manager of this location becomes aware of my gratitude with both of these individuals..I must say that the service I received from both Jacqueline D and Gabriel Santiago at this location was by far a pleasurable one.. Gabriel took me around several units and was very knowledge.. he informed me of the do's and don'ts .. and with me asking to view units for the second time.. he kept his cool.. i for one would not have patience with a customer like me..as for Jacqueline..she too has excellent customer service skills.. she made several changes in my account due to my multiple decision making between units..both took their time servicing me and with plenty of patience..they satisfied my storage needs.. they both made me feel welcomed .. I would recommend this location!

I have been a customer with Cubesmart at 1980 white plains rd. for more than a year but I guess customer loyalty means nothing to them. I have been renting a 10x 10 unit since July 2015 paying $315 a month. I recently tried to downsize so that I can make the payments more affordable and eliminate late fees and lock outs. I looked at a 5x 10 unit for $175 a month and decided to transfer into the smaller unit. I did not judge the size of the unit correctly and the amount of stuff I actually had because on the date of the transfer I ended up having only half of my stuff stored in the 5x10 before it was filled to capacity. I still had the other half of my stuff in my previous 10x 10 unit and that’s when my mistake and Cubesmart’s loyalty and understanding ended. I was told I had to move everything back into my old unit and had to do it within 45 minutes before the location closed. This was by no means possible. The next day I could not get my moving guys back to the location so I called and told them I needed an extra day. I was given rude customer service and threats of new charges if I didn’t get there and move my stuff into one unit. This was not physically possible to do on my own so I had no choice but to wait another day. The next morning I was ready with moving guys but the store GM told me I could not move anything until she spoke to the corporate office. I was told I would be given a callback. I waited at least 4 hours for a callback that never came! I decided to go to Cubesmart in person and was then given a quote of $227 which included 3 days of renting the 5x10 and charges for my previous 10x10 but with a new rate of $329 but with a half off promo. This was understandable but I did not know that this was a floating quote and if I did not jump on the price then that it would be changed in 24hours!! The next day I could not secure my moving help. My moving help are family members and they are not unemployed and are just waiting around for work. I have to secure their help and work around their schedules as well which should be understandable to a company like Cubesmart. The following day I had the moving help ready and the $227 on hand to pay but now the GM at the location that quoted me the price was out for the next 3 days. The associate who was at the location expressed that she did not know how to charge for 2 units and I had to wait until the GM came back! I let her know that I had everything needed and would really like to complete this move and get it out of the way. She called her District Manager. This District Manager now threw out the quote given to me before. He quoted me a price of $350 took away the promo but still charged me a new rate for my old unit. I was told that If I did not complete the move that day then it would be even higher the following days. This was outrageous to me and seemed threatening. I requested to speak to this District manager. She told me to call the 1800number. I called the 1800number and requested help. I was told I had to speak to the District manager. I was only given a voicemail number. I left 4 voicemails over the course of the next 3 days. I was told by the customer care at 1800cubesmart that a email message was sent to the District manager and he had 24-48 hours to call me back. I called every day and NEVER received a call back!!! When the general manager finally returned to the store I was now quoted a price of $400 for a mistake I originally made just trying to find a cheaper more affordable unit. This mistake was exploited and Cubesmart did everything they could to milk every dollar from a me. I finally gave up and just paid the $400 bill and to my surprise 2 minutes after making the payment I received a call from the District manager Joaquin Echevarria!!!!! He said he was returning my call! I was so upset at the fact that he miraculously calls after the money is out of my hand!! This is in no way how a company should handle loyal customers. This is no way to handle any customer!!!
