Cubesmart has shady rental policies.After the initial signing a rental contract , you get hit with rental increase for the rental unit. If you call customer service, you are told that your rental contract is a month to month rental so in less than a year, the rent becomes tripled. Has this storage unit for about 6 years. Very accessible, there were a few times I was a little late on payment and they still managed to accommodate me. Customer service is good and so is the online website to pay your storage online. Editing my review as of 2/19/25 I sadly have to give this storage 2 stars now after being a customer for 6 or 7 years now that fell on hard times I was not accommodated even with another kind of payment plan. I was laid off my job back in Dec '24 and was not able to make payments. I was homeless since Dec'24 and finally was able to obtain housing as of this month, I just received unemployment as of this month as well and was still not allowed to at least make partial payments so my items do not get auctioned. Being a long term customer does not mean much to this storage facility. Today my stuff is being auctioned and I am devastated.

I decided to switch to a bigger storage because I had to move out last moment and where I live i have less space so I needed a bigger storage unit.when I switch to a bigger unit I was having issues with the door Sliding up because the Sliding raíls cover were broken do I address it to a new manager , he added me on the list for repair, a week past buy nothing, another week past buy nothing, a month passed by and nothing i adressed again and he didn't remember putting me on a list again another month passed by( 2 month) and nothing I got mad because nothing was done I addressed it and he gave me attitude and I told him: how does it take that long when I'm paying 300 a month and nothing is done but the company has no problem taking my money right away and if I miss a day you guys put a lock right away but can't fix a problem that I have with the freaking door? Till this day he has done nothing still having the same problem and the employees forget ot they are miserable people always giving attitude like they hat their life. They all should get fired and the company should hire people that really can do their job.

My experience wasn't the most desirable experience at this particular cubesmart self storage. What made it so, was the customer service assistance I received. To be brutally honest I couldn't say which rep was worse. They were both rude, unfriendly and totally not helpful at all. The facility was clean and pleasant to the eye. The customer service was a total ZERO. THEY NEED TO BE MORE UNDERSTANDING AND PLEASANT TO THEIR CLIENTS. I RATE THIS AN OVERALL 4, ZERO BEING WORSE OF ALL.OMG GETTING INTO A 3RD LEVEL CUBE ON THOSE ROLLING STAIRCASES IS A TERRIFYING EXPERIENCE ALMOST COMPLETELY UNDOABLE. You know this cubesmart is straight from a comedy. The employees there are lazy they never know anything. Have anyone ever seen the movie OFFICE SPACE OR CLERKS. This is how the employees are at this cubesmart. They definitely dont want to be at work. They definitely have no information about damages they cause with your storage unit. I am going to start to look for another storage place. Sometime you can't support businesses were you live for convenience. Had to sanitize and sweep myself, I don't think its required for them to clean the units when people move out but that would probably be a good idea as who knows what was living in there before you.

Ok so I’ve been with this storage company for about 2 1/2 years now and I’m always in time paying my bill so I deal with no late fees no over draft fees or any thing such ! I’m always satisfied with how fast and easy things are at CubeSmart like for instance when I recently needed to change my unit from a smaller size to a bigger sized unit ! There wasn’t climate control on the several times my husband and I were there over the summer. It was a scorcher. Today the employee was late to open the gate to the cube smart and now she has yet to open the gate for customers to enter storage. There are now, 5 customers waiting to and it’s 9:14am. Thank God today is the day we haul all of our belongings out, we won’t have to deal with any of this nonsense anymore. Online it says it opens at 9. I expect it to be open! Another employee arrived and opens the exiting gates at 9:23. There are now 3 cars and 5 people by foot waiting. 9:29 another employee enters and the first employee finally opens up the gates for the customers to enter storage. A day later I was told to email them, I did and still no response. Get your belongings out, while you still can, much more affordable places with great customer service. Best of luck to you cube smart folk. Over and OUT!

Started out has a great idea to have one but then the price changed and I was never notified and was paying an extra hundred and $20 dollar for a small unit. The location I was at just had multiple issue with not communicating with clients so I clean my unit out and moved to a different unit and company.

I came in yesterday and there were two associates working. It was a bit busier than other times I have visited this location but the two associates were very mindful of the customers waiting and they greeted us as soon as we came in and told us they would be with us shortly. JEFFREY and CRISTINA worked very diligently to get the line moving while making sure the customers were being taken care of. I even saw them giving a tour of the cubes to the customers that were ahead of me. CRISTINA was very professional and I can tell she works very calm under pressure. JEFFREY was very friendly and even made some of the customers laugh including myself with his sense of humor. CubeSmart needs more employees like these two. I wanted to mention them here because they deserve the recognition from their managers. Also give them a raise. They deserve it !

I went in here because I had such a terrible experience in the past with public storage so I wanted to try a different storage company. I had a lot of questions and the lady at the desk CRISTINA FELIZ was very helpful and patient in answering them all. Towards the end of our interaction she even asked me if there were any other questions I needed her to answer which shows me that the employees here really care about their customers. ANTHONY was very nice and helpful too. I will definitely be coming back and recommending this place to all of my friends. The place is very clean and the staff all very friendly. I rented recently rented 2 rooms at CubeSmart on Southern Blvd. in the Bronx. I live in Manhattan, and I had rented storage rooms in Manhattan for many years. But that facility was closing, so I needed to find a new place. I visited several other self storage facilities in Manhattan and Brooklyn before I went to this CubeSmart on Southern Blvd. I was pleasantly surprised by this facility. Although it is much further away from my apartment than my space in Manhattan had been, it takes about the same amount of time to get there by subway and the building is a short block away from the train. The facility is very clean and brightly lit. But, most importantly, the two people who helped me there - Jeffrey Jiminian and Asia - were exceptionally helpful and friendly. I was so pleased with my experience that I recommended the place to a friend who also rented 2 spaces (he had spaces in the Manhattan facility that was closing, as well). I waited a few weeks to write my review to make sure that his experience was as good as mine. Jeffrey and Asia really made a big difference in my decision to rent space at this CubeSmart. They seem to enjoy their jobs and genuinely want to help people.

working on the one the hottest days of the summer is never easy but that surely didn’t keep the gentlemen at the desk from providing guest with exceptional customer service, especially the manager Jeffrey Jiminian. Not only was he extremely helpful to me, aiding in my transition but he also showed how exceptional of a person he is. As I waiting for one of the gentlemen to close out my paperwork, in enters a women hauling her belongs over to the desk and asks if they had any water for the guest. They apologized and said that they did not. However, Jeffrey made his way to the mini fridge and gave the guest a brand new water bottle he had been saving for himself. I loved the service I received. Only problem I had was that there wasn’t any cameras so I wasn’t sure if my belongings were going to be safe. Also because the people I saw walking around looked suspicious. The 3rd floor was very hot. It definitely needs AC. There was also some water damage as well that I didn’t like. Other than that The manager Joell Duncan was very nice. He greeted me as soon as I walked in so it gave me a great feeling. Was very generous and professional. He gave me a nice walkthrough and answered all the questions I had with no problem. Showed me the different kinds of units they had to offer. I can tell he makes his customers feel comfortable about coming to use the storage. We need more people like him around!!

I came in for just some tape and one box but walk out with extra things such as wardrobe boxes and bubble wrap to make sure my move was easier but this store manger. Very happy customer --- with a little feedback. Had an amazing experience with Ivey at Southern Boulevard. She was professional and concise with her explanation of everything. The price was very reasonable, especially for the size unit we got. Would totally recommend this location and her as a direct contact. Now for the not so fluffy stuff... We did not enjoy the move in process as much due to a few minor issues, however: 1. The garage door at the loading dock has a 1/2 lip that makes it very hard to get the carts over when fully loaded. What should have been a 2 or 3 hour job turned into 6 as the carts could not be loaded fully. A small angled lip would not impeded the seal, or even a portable ramp, would fix this issue; 2. The swing door into the units is very narrow, and the plastic buffer knocked over more that helped guide. A very expensive printer fell during my move-in because of the door buffer taking up more room.This carts are just able to fit. This rubber piece could easily be replaced by a flat rubber bumper, which would fix this issue; 3. Harassment by locals allowed to loiter and walk the hallways made the move-in super uncomfortable. For a secure location, it seems to be a very dangerous practice to not have those parties asked to leave or removed. My final feedback is the hours... Upon arrival on Sunday at 3:27 PM, the team was already closing the gates to enter into the lot. My understanding was we have until 4 to exit, and 3:55 to enter. These hours are restrictive already. Maybe if you spread your schedule a little, you would increase sales, collectibles, and client satisfaction. Maybe 9-9? Monday I saw no less than 5 staff members sitting in the office area, with a maintenance manager and a maintenance person, plus three office people. Seems like a lot to all be 9-5. Spread them out and do 9-5 for the opening manager and maintenance manager, and then have another desk person come at 11 to cover the lunch of the first, and then the last come at 1 to work until 9. Your second maintenance person also comes at 1. Gives you full coverage all day. I don't know... But seems reasonable.

Spoke to the district manager on 3-29-18 l believe has no REAL skills as a manger, told that I'm only working 3 days now and may be a little late for my payment, her response was "if you don't pay, it will be sold in acution! About $350 a mount, is that how you treat/best you can do for long-term custormers!?!?

This have been the worse costumer service I’ve received in awhile I wanted to clean up my storage unit because -*_RAT POOP-*_ and they wouldn’t provide the equipment or ask to do it for me... I’m disappointed with the workers from A red head lady named Terry and also a dark skin lady named Carrol I believe was their names; they will speak to as if we were on the street instead of their work place. Nasty attitude and with disrespect. I wouldn’t even recommend my ememy into this storage!

Very disappointed with their customer service. Never have I encountered people who has no manners. I strongly suggest everyone to find another storage unit. You have no say or authority to go into your own unit that you purchase without front desk permission. A waste of money. Found another storage facility called Good Friendly which has great service and you don't have to ask permission to go into your own unit. Cubesmart has lazy workers and feels the need to argue with you when they want. Carol and Terry will completely ignore you when being ask politely a question.

I was locked in their facility on Southern Boulevard in the Bronx and they acted like it was no big deal. They are also overcharging me because I am an HRA customer. They refused to move me to a different facility after I Ieft the borough even though it won't cost them anything

I don't like this place... my storage locker is on the 2nd floor and the hole floor smells like human piss all the time. I don't trust the staff and it is a place that I strongly would not recommend to anyone.not only for the uncleanness but the safety of the your stuff as well.

I wasn't very happy with this facility. I have been a customer at many Cubesmart facilities without using their promotions, so today, I decided to rent one using their promotion. The lady tells me that I cannot use their promotions from store to store and she called the facility that I am currently a customer to check if I ever received the promotion, which I told her I hadn't. She called someone and they told her to allow me to get the promotion, but now she has decided to send out a notice that I can never have their free promotion again. Thanks to their policy, and her behavior I will be removing all my business from their facilities. Extra Space Storage allows me to get a free storage unit each time I start a new account. I will use them instead. I have been a good customer, always paying on time and I do not like the fact that you can only get their promotion once in your lifetime. They can keep it. I will no longer do business with them.

From the minute i walked in until my moving in date i felt comfortable. The lady helping me was really informative. When it was time for me to move in i had someone helping me with stuff that was rather picking but it didnt change thier attitudes at all. They were still extremely pleasant. I've rented storage in other locations. The rental experience here was fast and easy. Also, the facility is extremely modern and clean. Will definitely recommend friends to use them as well as rent additional space when needed.
