After storing for a year and we came back to discover that all of our stuff was covered in mold, including many valuable items. When asked about the cause, the staff said they have no idea. However, after inquiring with other renters we learned that the basement level was flooded at some point earlier that year. The insurance company had it covered against natural disasters so no compensation was provided. They also increase the price significantly after a year.

Experienced damages to my DJ equipment and personal furniture during some flooding at the location. Adrian helped move me upstairs and was kind. Followed up to explain why my new unit should not be going up in price and was met with so much resistance by one of the team members onsite April 1. Asked her to understand from a customer service standpoint to help find a solution while having a brief chance to address the unit while visiting. Unfortunately she just had the poorest ability to address and instead made it about her. Clearly the issue is with CubeSmart. She even tried to tell me they were not aware of flooding after I was explicitly told “yes we were aware of some flooding in the past” I was onsight the first day of flooding and even heard staff discussing this. I came back frustrated and downgraded the units to half the size as a retaliation to the poor customer service. Now CubeSmart will loose the extra 1200 per year from me. And I will eventually cancel the current unit unless someone reaches out to apologize for my experience. The gentleman that helped me change units on 4/1 was kind and empathized with my experience the past few months. Only reason I didn’t pull everything out on the spot. U-Haul was ready to move things that morning for me.

it is not a pro military and family easy storage location my experience my spouse is Floyd and open the storage and trying to get a military discount that was informed that my spouse has to physically be here in order to do that even though I have power of attorney out of all the storages that my family has used due to my spouse in the military. This one is one of my least favorite Bronx, New York storage location was not as friendly as I had experience in the past and other town.

When I went to cub-smart my experience was an amazing. I encountered such a sweet kindhearted woman named Aisha, extremely informative passionate and such drive customer service associate. She went into details about the boxes the lock's and the free van service She also explained it was best to take the autopay so I would not encounter any late fee. It made perfect sense. She also told me about the best fit for storage for my room. I appreciate her support regarding my move reassuring me that things will go smooth and she will be here with me every step of the way. Extremely appreciate that because I was so overwhelmed. She made me feel so comfortable great energy. Very unprofessional. I paid for a unit and when I returned with my property CubeSmart had placed a green combination lock on the unit thus locking me out. They scammed me out of my $100 cash deposit on their van when I returned it within the 3 hour rental time. No one was present in the office except the grounds keeper. I called customer service and was given an incorrect combination to their lock. I waited an hour and a half for their night ground’s keeper to arrive to let me in the unit and HE WAS GIVEN THE WRONG COMBINATION!!! I gave 1 star but I wish I could give 0. Stay away from this place.

First and foremost, never had any issues when speaking to or dealing with ONEKA. ONEKA #is the most professional, composed and respected/respectful storage associate at this specific facility. LAUREN/Laura (Semi tall, African American, long “braids”/“hair”, has a face usually, doesn’t know how to speak to people in a personable manner, raggity clothes, demeanor far from friendly) should not have a job working in ANY work environment. Lauren is RATCHET, nasty, super unprofessional and has no regard for what she says when dealing w customers. I was just trying to CLOSE my unit (as I just removed everything from it!) and was trying to avoid being charged for the next two months before getting hit with a lien fee and fees for a storage unit that is cleared ONE day after my bill kicks in. To auction a unit that has NOTHING in it, I’d prefer closing the unit (even if I still owe a balance for ONE month!) where they can get another customer who can actually pay for the unit but it won’t lead into an auction where they have to go through hoops and hurls to get money through a collection agency. (Makes sense!) Not only did I recently spend 800+$ to gain access to my unit which had been settup for potential auction, but was not trying to abandon a unit and be in bad standing with the facility. A conversation escalated as she couldn’t mind her business and spoke aggressively to the point where another employee named Marcela have to pull her into a room for acting GHETTO and disgusting. At some point she even came back out to escalate and curse and do all this extra. Cops were involved and even with the two female cops speaking to me, she proceeded to escalate the situation w no regard and come from behind her work desk, open the door (while we are OUTSIDE) to then continue to talk reckless. The cops had to tell her go back inside and she then started talking the way she was to me, to them upset cause they told her go back inside. At one point before the cops arrived, she came from around the desk and tried escalating the situation by demanding me to “hit her!” RATCHET beyond belief, no work ethic, no regard for her or her-xo workers safety. Life has to be tough for this young lady and corporate will be getting a email from me. Continue to be interested in this specific location but deal with ONEKA if possible. When oneka isn’t there that place is out of order, a shxt show. Real life nobody with a low-budget title (when ONEKA isn’t there!) making less than $20 to mock customers and escalate situations for the worse. A huge red flag that will tune into a civil suit sooner than later. If it wasn’t for customers renting these units, NOBODY there would have a job. You gotta make it make sense. Uppers and higher management will be receiving light of this situation. Look up the footage from THURSDAY, JULY 20, 2023 between 11:30am -12pm if need be. They may have a good price when your first looking at a storage but the ode prices are always subject to change. Mine changed twice just because of the demand when I could’ve went to a different stroage unit and keep one low price. On top of that different location tend to have had different prices depending on the demand at a certain location. I’d personally go somewhere else if I needed a storage unit again.

Very happy with this facility and services provided by Cube Smart on Exterior. I chose this location due to the top reviews given and close to public transportation. This place is clean as a whistle and thankful for the climate controlled units to keep my belongings from exposure to extreme temperatures. The staff is knowledgeable and professional. The Cube Smart on Exterior in the Bronx is so clean you can eat off the floor. The people who work there are pleasant, helpful and professional. Every time I came to the storage facility I was so impressed with the security, how well lit it is and as I said, it is very clean and warm.

This Cubesmart is pretty cheap compared to the other location. They have all different types of space that may benefit your needs. The only thing you have to be aware of is that they advertise a price online but if you are opening up for the first time you’ll have to pay up some fees, insurance, and equipment. Depending on the size you get you’ll pay about +$100. Keep in mind insurance you’ll pay monthly, on top of the storage unit. ALSO, Cubesmart treat you like tenants. So every 6months or every year, they have had raised your monthly payment but a few dollars. You can go from spending $40 to $50 a month. Keep that in mind. Other then that, they do have a lot of space & it can be useful for city people like us. The only cons I had as a mentioned above is that they raise the prices ever so often and that they close early. I believe it should be 24/7, but I’m pretty sure they have their reasons.

IF I COULD PUT A ZERO I WOULD. They broke into my significant others unit and have zero clue to what is going on. I went in spoke like 5 times to the staff to be told different stories and the person who handles the claims doesn't ever answer is very rude and clicked twice on me while I was speaking to them. They have zero regard when it comes to what happens at their facility and then have zero answers when it comes to this. Why pay to have your things stolen by what it looks like their own employees. Do not store your things here.

Upon arrival to Cube Smart I was met with Christy. She was very informative about the process and I ask alot of questions and she answered all of them. She took down my phone number for a follow up (I needed a small unit on the lower half) I was undecided at that time. The next morning I received a call from the manager she informed me they had a unit I was looking for. I went to Cube smart and the manager greeted me and it was a pleasure doing the paperwork at a professional level. She made the process easy She directed an employee to show me the unit. The male employee and I had a good conversation and made me comfortable about accepting the unit he also was informative about the process. From beginning to end all the employees were pleasant. No matter there position at Cube smart all the employees I encountered should be promoted without reservation. I appreciate all there help. Keep up with the great service.

Not your moving company dropping us off 30 minutes before closing to try and load a unit, and them forcing us to keep all our stuff outside cause of it! I only gave this one star because I can't give 0. This CubeSmart is fairly new and big. It looks safe, which is one the of main reasons I rented there, but it isn't. I was renting here for about two months when my storage unit had been broken into and valuable things were stolen. There are only cameras by the elevator. There are no cameras in the hallways or anywhere else in the building. The ceiling to each unit is a kind of wired fence that can be cut fairly easily. One of the staff members, Buddy, was very helpful. However, everyone else was subpar at best. The person at the front desk moved me to a storage unit on another floor. But, I started renting at another storage facility shortly after. After leaving, there were more robberies. Do not go here!

The facility itself is excellent and well taken care of but the two gentlemen in the front couldn’t have been more lacking in the customer service department. Robotic, monotone and overall look of misery. Not an ounce of friendliness, or even a personality. Any questions asked were met by scripted answers and general unwillingness to assist or even help. I know it was Sunday, sucks to be at work and it’s hot. But you can’t be moping around with that kind of negativity. And it wasn’t just myself and my party, another group of individuals noticed the same thing.

This review is long overdue, but I had to make sure I put it up on here. We needed to get a storage unit during the middle of the pandemic and this place exceeded expectations. The facility was clean, organized and secure. The one issue we had was that it was advertised to be open 24 hours on the website, but this particular location was not. Even though that made our situation more difficult in moving, Jason who is one of the managers made up for it by going above and beyond with customer service. He was highly professional, but more importantly kind and helpful. He definitely deserves some recognition from the company for how he helps and manages. The general customer service is also very helpful and that is worth it's weight in gold. Happy to have my stuff with CubeSmart and highly recommend them to anyone with storage needs.

I haven't done much storage before. This place exceeded my expectations. Professional, responsive and helpful staff. Facility is super clean and seems very secure. I got a 5x5x4 locker and while the layout was slightly different than expected all my stuff fit with room left over. I bought a heavy duty lock with a long hinge that turned out to be too big, so ended up using one of theirs. So glad I picked this spot and company. Edited to add that after a couple years, I still feel this way. Great facility. Zero issues with pests, floods or safety. But they kept jacking up the price, so I finally moved stuff out because it just wasn't worth it after multiple price increases.

It been quite awhile since I've done storage, especially from Cubesmart Storage in Exterior St. The experience was worth the reservation booking to see our unit to be storage and what made it even reasonable was the staff who insisted me and my wife to understand what were looking into by providing a detour around the facility, showing us the access panel to enter the storage building, and most importantly viewing our rights before consenting to an agreement. Overall everything was done carefully enough for us to go and purchase the best part is knowing they have an App to view your information, know your expected due date, and making payment as well. I will like to give a thank you to the one and only who made this possible to consider at the end of it all Maricela continue to bring the help to all who come to Cubesmart.

Most of the staff are nice and the facility is clean and climate controlled. However CubeSmart policies are very focused on their own gain. They recently tried to auction my property just so they could get money during the pandemic. Customer service wasn't helpful and I almost lost all my property due to the pandemic that they refused to accommodate.

I liked the location of my unit but was upset that i had to pay full price for July even though i left in July 3rd. Doesn’t matter if i made my payments on time they didn’t try and give me breaks at all. Than called me at the end of the month and make it seem like I didn’t tell them i was moving and tried to make me pay for August. Also they reached out under this review to make it seem like they care about my concerns but nobody responded to my email in regards to my issue.

I thought the facility was very clean - it almost looks new like it was just built so it will good to see if lasts the test of time. I thought the process was much too long and needless took way to long. I also bought 2 locks and very surprised to find out after I purchased them that all the keys are not unique. This was no marked or explained on the package or by the employee. This are "cube smart" branded locks. so I feel this should have been explained. I was also quite incredulous to find out that you are required to sign a waiver of ZERO liability of facility of any kind of damages (like water damage or fire etc.) or theft and you are required to buy insurance.

I called before arriving for availability and the reception I received over the phone was exceptional. Staff is nice and building is brand new but when we communicated that our clean and bug free antiques that are stored in 2 units now have roaches walking around our cubes (the bugs have traveled from other people’s units. ) the staff said there was not really anything they could do about it. Very upset as we have never had a roach in our home or previous storage units.

Jason (I think that was his name... I don't have my paperwork in front of me) was great, and everything is clean and bright. This is a new facility, and I think as such it was busy with load-ins the night I loaded in. There are two details I have issues with, though. 1. The carts are locked up and require letting them hold your ID in order to use one. This was not the case at other mini-storage facilities I've used in NYC and elsewhere. 2. The hours are very difficult; they close on weekdays at 7 pm, which is far too early to get much done when you've been at work all day. It would be helpful if they could extend hours one day per week to 8, 9, or 10 pm.

A very clean and secure new storage facility. The storage rooms are easy to access via elevator (you must use your code, more security). Reasonably priced moving boxes. First time renting a storage unit I wanted to see the difference between sizes and I was pleased to see that the person helping me wasn't annoyed about me wanting to see a couple of storage units He was very nice, helpful and patient The person that helped me was Jason A. first off, I'd like to say thatJason is a great manager. He's very cordial, patient and knowledgeable and what a pleasurable experience!. The facility is new so its impeccably clean, huge and a bit cumbersome to navigate, otherwise I highly recommend Jason as well as this facility????????

This storage space far and away gives the customer the best bang for their buck. The 2880 Exterior St location in the Bronx has some of the best customer service staff not only working in Storage, but all of NYC. This team puts Manhattan Mini Storage & Uhaul storage to shame. I would take my storage needs to this CubeSmart time and time and time again if ever I needed too.

This is my very first time leasing a space like a garage so I was skeptical of the pricing and whether staff would be disrespectful to me for asking too many questions, but I was wrong. Jason and Brionnie were amazing to me. They welcome me by breaking down all I need to know about the leasing process; using a sense of humor. I'm surprised that Jason is not a manager because with his attitude, he can bring CubeSmart to another level! Thank you and definitely will recommend this place to everyone who need extra space in their life.

Moving from one storage room across town to this Cubesmart which is much closer. Greeted by Jason Abbott who without hesitation took my info for my online reservation and escorted me to my unit. We then completed all the necessary paperwork, he provided all the answers to my questions and had me on my way. Great experience!

Looking for a storage for a couple of weeks. Didn't feel comfortable in the places I saw until I came in and meet Brionnie at this location. What can I say she took her time in explaining every detail. She personally showed me the units I was interested in. Extremely professional and made me feel welcome.
