Andre and the team are wonderful. Going to the 481 Grand Avenue/945 Atlantic Avenue location is like walking into the old TV show Cheers, where everyone knows your name! At first, I really loved this facility, but then I realized that the one loading bay is always occupied. Then they jacked up the rent on a room by 25% I had. I closed that room and went on line to get a larger room with free promotional month which I didn’t get initially on the smaller room. So I signed up for a larger unit online and I got a free month and now I get a bill for 2 months. they didn’t honor the free month.

the storage is super inexpensive and the staff is amazing and considerate however, pieces of the ceiling was all over my bagged items while retrieving the place needs renovation and smells horribly stale because of the dirty carpeting on each floor. if you don't care about any of those things then this place is for you.

This location 945 Atlantic Ave, assigned me to a unit that is damaged with metal splinters sticking out. I cut my fingers on the splinters the first time I tried to open the unit; right away, I went to the office with my finger bleeding to request a different unit. Since I had already signed the contract, they would not move me to a different unit, and I was told to schedule an appointment on a different day for maintenance to fix the lock. I would give them half a star for customer service.

What a horrible company. UPDATED EDIT: Upon my arrival to drop my stuff at Cube Smart on a Sunday during regular open hours, none of their staff had opened the facility. This was November 2021 and myself and several other people were waiting outside in the snow. After waiting 10 minutes, I called every other CubeSmart store in the area. I spoke to 5 stores and all refused to help as they didn't "manage" that store. Finally after calling a store in near tears they said I could move all my stuff to their location (much further from where I lived). After this debacle of a move in day, I attempted to call the store manager but I had to first make a complaint and wait several days. Finally I spoke to someone named 'Garry Merritt' at CubeSmart who offered nothing and was completely incompetent. So to recap: 1- CubeSmart staff no-showed so the store remained closed and I couldn't move my stuff in 2- Because of the above I had to move to a different storage unit, further away from my location 3- Management offered me zero compensation In Summary: CubeSmart is a horribly run company who clearly has no idea how to train their staff or compensate them appropriately. Choose ANY other storage company

Don't use this place, I'm not sure if this is the usual for storage companies but my experience was terrible. The storage units are clean and decent but the staff is very insensitive to their customers. I was behind 2 months for my payments and i had some of my father's (who passed away) items in the unit. I was told that I could not pay a partial payment when i was only 2 months behind. I had enough money to catch me back up to at least 1 month. I was told "I had to pay in full and if i did not pay in full by the next month my items would be auctioned." I understand the importance of the business making their money and receiving their payments but people put meaningful things in storage and sometimes times get rough. I just feel that they could have been a little helpful by setting up a payment plan at least before just jumping to auction someone's items.

They damaged several pieces of my furniture and never contacted me after I’ve tried to be in touch for months. Awful experience. I’m so sad that CubeSmart would recommend them considering how wonderful of an experience I had with them, really disappointing. ——original—— Absolutely fantastic experience!!! This was my first time every renting a storage unit and I was so nervous I'd be dealing with the headaches everyone warns you about when renting a storage unit in NYC. No single headache to be found here, everyone provided phenomenal and friendly service. The manager Andre is a true gem and made the process so simple for me! The added bonus of a free moving vehicle was the cherry on top. So grateful for these people and this extremely clean and well managed space!

The employees are very helpful at this location. I closed my unit after only 2 weeks because I wasn't comfortable with the height of the unit. It was near the ceiling and required the use of a ladder to access it. I think they should inform customers if they are assigned one of this units before paying because not everyone is comfortable with heights.

I would not recommend. The staff has entitlement and mental issues. There's a guy who looks like a cartoon character that hides in the shadows stalking (a staff member). A manager who is very rude, and staff who seem to be very self entitled. When I pointed out there was a problem with my unit which could be a security concern the manager immediately dismissed it. They will instigate arguements and expect you to say nothing, and if you respond, claim you cursed them (which they should be), then fall back on you not being respectful of their staff. Stay away!

I was driving over I got stuck in traffic, so I called mananger and he gave me a time to arrive, still I got there a few minutes too late, doors were closed. Not recommended. These people are very entitled and quick to pull the race card. The workers here and their bosses treat the place more like it is a personal storage rather than a public self storage for renters. In the past i have posted reviews about the shenanigans here and was contacted by them to take down the post despite their wrongdoings. Again their wrongdoings were posted in the past and may just well be reposted. Not a good storage unit will never do business with this location or any cubesmart ever again. Nasty employees and so are their managers. The behaviors were annoying and i am so glad i do not have to deal with them ever again.

I've been using Cubesmart facilities to house business related items off-site for 7+ years now. Last June, when I moved everything, including household items this time, to a larger unit at the 945 Atlantic Ave. location, I had the same high-quality experience as with 1050 Atlantic Ave., e.g., clean, spacious, safe, convenient. However, customer service went above and beyond this time. A special call out to Giselle and Andre who made this more recent, much, much bigger and more complicated move (multiple cities, days, movers...) pretty seamless. They were professional and supportive, offered suggestions, and even accommodated some unexpected, unplanned moments with my moving team. Thank you!

Last month I had an emergency situation arise that required me to remove my belongings to a secure location immediately. After securing a unit online with CubeSmart, I stepped into the office the next morning and was pleasantly surprised to receive such quality service from the General Manager Andre , the Manager Giselle and Curtis each of them went out of their way to accommodate me and within minutes I had been shown the space , signed the lease, and purchased my lock and I was able to start moving my belongings into a Clean safe secure space. Eventhhough there are two other CubeSmart locations within the vicinity, I have certainly selected the best one.

I had such an awesome experience with the crew here. Moving sucks... but they made it easier. I was worried my stuff wasn’t going to fit in my storage unit. They calmed my anxiety and reassured me that everything would work out. Everyone there is so nice and caring! I’m happy my stuff is stored here.

Awful Awful Awful. Is there an option to give "0" stars? I was a victim of identity theft and someone used my id to rent a unit out at the 945 Atlantic Ave location (I live in PA mind you...). I reached out to Manager CHRISTINE HYPPOLITE and the response was "it was not their responsibility to verify a customers' identity and that this individual was a good paying customer"... OK.. I filed a police report and the police were in contact with the location. Shortly thereafter and low and behold the "good paying customer" stopped paying and cubesmart sent the matter to a collection agency. I called back to discuss the matter and the manager ANDRE was extremely rude / combative and said the burden is on me to obtain a copy of the police report and close the matter out with the collection agency. I was told that it was "store policy" to refer these matters to a collection agency. Where is the common sense here when the unit is obviously being rented out via a fraudulent transaction and there is a police report on file to that effect? Maybe better store policy is to verify your customers and work with those impact by identity theft. AVOID cubesmart.

This location has given me constant issues. I've been using this location for three years for work. They had an amazing manager leave about a year ago and since then they have struggled to give the customer service of the team there prior. There was a worker by the name of Christina who went out her way to help me get packages to my unit and one day she actually helped me arrange the boxes. Due to her issues at this location with management she is no longer at this location. She was one of the last people to go out of there way to assist you at this location. After calling for something as simple as a billed emailed to me there was no one there who had been trained to process an email and she was alone at the location. Another example of poor mgmt. I spoke to the district manager about issues I was facing and he was very rude. I informed him that the location didnt always open on time and that I occasionally had to wait outside and he told me that wasn't true. I expressed the next stop is the regional manager and all of a sudden he was prepared to hand it. Needs to be better.

New York City is one of those places where you can feel alone and like no one cares, when you need all the help you can get. I recently found myself in just one of those situations. I had to move out of my apartment overnight, unexpectedly, due to a room mate situation that had escalated to the point of both my service dog and my own safety being in real jeopardy. I was very unprepared for the situation that occurred, and moving in NYC is costly. I had to put my stuff somewhere while I secured an apartment which was overwhelming with everything else and my bank account almost at zero. I had no one to ask for help, and was facing homelessness, and was terrified. I walked into Cubesmart, already having a small space there, with no other choice but to ask for help and pray someone said yes. Andre Freeman helped me that day, and am almost positive I was in tears. I was not expecting anything, but told him what had happened. Upon hearing my story, Andre started looking on the computer and was very kind and encouraging. A few minutes later he asked to show me a space and told me he could give it to me for over half off. He took me to see the unit and it was perfect. He went above and beyond to help me, and he didn't have to. I know it's just a storage space, but it was more then that that day. He and the entire staff at this location saw another person in a desperate situation and they were kind. Kindness does a lot to lift spirits, and is something that is often lacking in the day to day. They also made it possible to keep my belongings safe, which is not taken lightly. I don't have much, so I value and appreciate the things I have worked hard for. Three days ago I moved into my new apartment, and feel it is necessary to say the Cubesmart team at store #0821 could not be more compassionate, caring, helpful, and exactly what a company would want representing them. I have worked in customer service for my entire adult life, and have awards for exemplary service. THIS team deserves to be aknownedged. Thank you again Andre, and EVERYONE at store 0821. I will pay this forward and the gestures of kindness I hope don't go unrewarded.

I have been using this cubesmart location for years and have had a very positive experience. The facilities are clean and the prices are competitive (though as is custom, the rates continually go up every few months it seems). I've used several different storage facilities over the years and a storage locker is a storage locker. The big difference here is with the staff who are tremendous- they are always friendly, courteous and attentive- they go out of their way to make me a happy customer. I received a lot of packages here for work and they are very helpful notifying me when I get packages and keeping them secure until I can get to the location to retrieve them. 5 stars because of the staff.

My experience with Cube Smart was made effortless by the team at 945 Atlantic Ave. There were a few glitches initially with scheduling with the 800 number and pick up in real time, some misinformation from the 800 number. However, Christine and Kelvin came to my rescue and help work things out for me. The facility was clean and well maintained by Kurtis. I would highly recommend Cube Smart at 945 Atlantic Ave. The level of professionalism here is refreshing and a pleasant surprise in the age of less is more. Customer service is going above and beyond and not just doing what is expected of you. I love the team here. Christine and Kelvin should be the poster child for customer service.

The folks who work here are the best. (Samantha the GM recently relocated but look for my favorites, Christina and Kelvin). I use CubeSmart for inventory storage for my small business and whenever I have a question they are always happy to answer. Other favorites things about this Cubesmart location: 1. The location! For me in south Clinton Hill it can't be beat for convenience. 2. A clean restroom! 3. My "5 x 8 unit" is actually a little bit larger because of the shape, and every bit counts! 4. The monthly price is about 250 which is quite reasonable for Brooklyn. The only thing I wish for is that I would stay open a little bit later than 6 PM. But I'll take it the way it is any day because the folks that work here are great! Highly recommended location!

I was completely stressed out during my move but the staff at this location helped manage my stress immensely. The customer service representative, Christina called me the day before and day of my move to remind me of the reservation, which was helpful, since I work long hours in Manhattan. She was kind and informative - plus gave me all my options for rental. On the day of my reservation appointment, the store manager, Andre Freeman was amazing. Not only did he secure a truck for me in short notice, he and his staff stayed late for me on moving day and allowed me to load my belonging shortly after closing. I am grateful and appreciative for their help.

I received a great deal for the month I stored things with them, and they never said anything of me coming and going every day as I did. If I had been there for more than a month, their rate would have been a bit higher than what I could have gotten elsewhere (even another Cubesmart), but for my time there, my deal was great.

The storage I rent from CubeSmart $200 a month. For such a price, the least one can expect is a nice treatment. Unfortunately, it is not the case, and I would not recommend this storage to anyone. Here are the facts: I rented a CubeSmart storage late August. Before I moved out the stuff that was in my new apartment. 8 days later, while the storage was still empty, I asked for an upgrade in the size of the storage, which was done efficiently and within minutes. I had never used the first version of the storage, and it was 8 days after I rented it. However, when I received the next invoice I was puzzled by the fact CubeSmart had not kept their word and had invoiced me for the first month, although their ad said the first month was free. I therefore called CubeSmart who redirected me to the store manager. I could not believe my ears: the store manager was so incredibly rude, basically said I was responsible for not being able to choose the right storage, should be happy about everything. She eventually hang up on me. IMO she needed a lesson in appropriate customer relationship, I called the CubeSmart central again, to file a complaint. They duly apologized and promised to escalate the issue to the regional manager, who would call me ASAP. This was 3 days ago. Since then, no call whatsoever. Is this appropriate customer relationship? I seriously doubt it.

I was unable to move into my apartment on time and as a result had to move my stuff in storage last minute. As if moving my stuff into storage wasn't enough of a headache, but it was a couple hours before I needed to board a plane to Atlanta for my sister's wedding. I had no idea how I was going to get it all done, but thanks to Andre, I did. Not only was he sympathetic about my situation, but he was extremely positive and eager to help, and moved with urgency to make sure I could start moving my stuff as quickly as possible. I made my sister's flight, and the wedding was amazing. My experience with Andre at Cubesmart restored my belief in excellent customer service. Thank you Andre!!!

After having to move house and dealing with a stressful situation I needed a storage space and never having had a unit was a bit worried. CubeSmart was nothing short of stress free. The staff was laid back and helpful and the space seems to be clean, organized, and well-kept. The only negative thing that I have to say is that I was promised the meal of my choice would be waiting for me in the unit when I arrived for move in and unfortunately I was left hungry. Very positive experience and I don't plan on using another storage solution while I'm in NY.

I've been a loyal "Cuber" since October of 2014. The staff is very friendly and very professional. Kelvin was great at helping me choose which Cube would be best for me. Samantha has always been great in keeping me up to date on my bills and late fees. And Christine is really good at helping me pay my bill and also helping me to know my storage rights. I hired some bad movers as a last minute emergency who couldn't move the couch through my door as it was a big couch. I called cube smart to see if they had storage space so i could get good movers. The sales rep on the phone was great so was the guy at the front desk who received me. They set me up within 20 minutes from the call, and my sofa was in storage 30 mins. Amazing, efficient - definitely a good experience - I wish I could give a shoutout if i remember the names of both the sales rep and guy at the front desk!

Despite arriving quite late to my check in and move in, Kelvin did a fantastic job in showing me everything I needed to know to move in and processed my paperwork very quickly and professionally to ensure that I could have enough time to move all my items into my storage unit before closing. Kelvin and the staff were more than accommodating, and that was really a wonderful point in my otherwise hectic and stressful moving day.

After the nightmare experience I had at Uhaul earlier in the day, it was really refreshing to be in an air conditioned, calm and clean environment. I had more stuff than I'd initially thought and had to upgrade to a larger unit which the customer experience rep did quickly and without trying to pitch any extra add ons which I really appreciated. Speaking of the woman who was at the desk- she was fantastic and made the whole rental process a jiff (I can't remember her name but I know it started with a C and it was a Sunday). She was the only person there and it was pretty busy but she was able to calmly and quickly provide everyone with service. Keep it up Cubesmart!

So far it CubeSmart has been the best process. First month free, free truck and driver for 2 hours, no binding or yearly contract. Just month to month payments. And the least expensive I've found. Dumbo and brooklyn heights were too expensive. CubeSmart all the way for sure!
