By far the worst!!! Location : 1188 McDonald Ave., Brooklyn, NY 11230 Incompetence is of the highest From top down: Kayla, District Manager Lack of professionalism and business ethics. According to CubeSmart Corp, she needs further training. This person is inept, has difficulty comprehending, executing basic business transactions and lacks communication skills. Store personnel: Lilly, lack of retail and or managerial skills. She cannot articulate and has difficulty processing. Very robotic and tends to read from scripted CubeSmart material. Tai, store manager, retail associate; at first gives off the impression of knowledge with business acumen and friendliness. Anything intricate or challenging in business he is lost. Aside from the poor business quality of personnel running 1188 McDonald Ave in Brooklyn, the location is clean, accessible and accommodating. Pricing may seem ideal but in the long run more expensive than the others. In my humble option avoid aggravation and look elsewhere for storage space.

Honestly speaking, there has been a huge change for the better. I have previously filed a complaint due to unfair late fees, and instead of solving the problem, the rent was increased as a punishment for the negative complaint. But the good thing is that there has been a radical change for the better. The place has become very clean, I have never seen that before. moreover, the way how they deal with you has become much better than before. Poor customer service. Very unprofessional. They tried to give us the wrong size room after we did all the necessary paperwork for the 5x10 room we wanted. When we finally got the right size room, they tried to lock us out of the basement where our old room was that we had already paid for the previous month. This made it very difficult to move our boxes out and to the new room which was on a different floor. We are now using a different company.

They decided to change the monthly rent without any warning or it being in writing. Told me if I didn't like it I could leave. Very very different from how it started out. Would NEVER return. Horrible customer service. I walked in to ask about the prices and sizes, they did not wanna help me at all. They were very rude, you could tell on their faces that they had enough as soon as I walked in the office. They were whispering something to each other and had a horrible attitude. Why are they working in customer service if they dont wanna help people ? I wanted to rent there because the location is great for me, but after this I never wanna go back to this location ever. I came to this location to find out about their prices and the unit size I would need in a couple of weeks and I was told the prices change every day, I needed to come when I am ready to rent. When I came back to rent a unit on 12.05.2023 got almost kicked out. When I got to the front desk I was asked if I am renting it today or not without giving me any price or showing a unit AGAIN by the same woman. I mean why the f… you ask me that when I’m already here to rent. I said yes. She barely stood up whispering something to herself. Furthermore, when a man walked in she started complaining him about ME telling him I am coming the second time and blaa blaaa, even if I am still there. I mean she does NOT look like mentally disabled but you wouldn’t believe in the situation you are at if this happened to you.Who know how she acts when you already rented a unit and needed help with something. DISASTER!!! DO NOT COME TO THIS LOCATION so you do not have to deal with this kind of disrespect.

This is the worst place I've been! manager, uneducated, uncultured, behaved rudely as if I had come to her home and canceled my paid room when I had already arrived with my things across the city! The law does not protect the client in any way! I called the police, but the policeman said that a private company has the right to do this. Because of them, I lost the whole day and was left with my things on the street and had to look for another guard. I do not recommend dealing with this company CubSmart! They don’t even have a place to complain about their employees, so managers do whatever they want!

I don't know what is happening at this branch. They are now locking the carts. This weekend, 3 of 5 carts were locked so we had to wait for other people to be finished using the 2 carts so we could carry our boxes. The moth problem here is getting worse by the day. I feel like there are more and more everytime I go. I'm afraid all my winter clothes and carpets I store here will come out with holes this year. It's probably best to start looking for a new unit.

This is the only storage unit company in NYC that lock up the carts. You have to wait in line and drop off your ID, then wait for them to have a moment to go unlock a cart. Then same thing when you return the cart. It's a huge waste of time. AND if you come outside of normal business hours, there is no possibility of getting a cart. It means you have to either bring your own cart or carry everything by hand to your unit, turning 1 trip into 3 or 4 or 5 trips. I spoke to the GM and she had no interest in finding a creative solution to allow people the ability to use carts outside of business hours. I will be finding another storage unit.

40 storage unit break ins in the year of 2022 and I was one of those victims. There are conveniently no security cameras in any aisle. The Property Manager Cristal behaved unprofessionally. She forced us out of our storage unit and we unknowingly tampered with evidence. She was rude and hesitant to give us a new unit and gave us no solution because it was almost closing time and we were cutting into her time.

My time at this CubeSmart was nothing short of amazing. The two women at the front desk were extremely professional. Tiffany took the time to explain the process to me and got me situated within minutes. Her colleague, Janeka, was right by her side to provide additional information so that my move was as seamless as possible. This place is great! I was hesitant to put my stuff in storage at first but this place really changed my mind. It was so clean and organized.. clean isn’t even the word... it was truly immaculate. The units themselves are also very clean as well. I bought a plastic sheet to put on the floor of my unit and didn’t even use it because the floor was so clean. The units are very secure so you can be assured your things are safe. They also have a huge parking lot which makes the move in process so smooth. The GM Sherwyn was a pleasure to work with. He was very attentive on my move in day and whenever I had a question regarding my reservation he was always available over the phone. Highly recommend this storage facility if you live in NYC and are in need of self storage!

So i came into Cubesmart after going next door to life storage and boy can i tell u i felt like as if i stepped into a new world. Even though these to companies are wall to wall. They are miles apart. I was greeted at the door by Janeka she is very warm and welcoming and even tho i wasn't sure what size unit i needed she helped me and my business partner find our correct fit. She was kind and very patient. Because of the TLC we received it made this storing process easy. Thanks Cubesmart, and Thanks Janeka. I will refer others.

I originally had an appointment with the Life Storage unit next door, and walking in here was a complete accident, but the management here was far superior (we had to wait for over half an hour just to get into Life Storage). This Cubesmart also pricematched with us and we ended up getting a unit much cheaper! The whole place is clean, well run and a pleasure to work with! Happiest mistake I ever made, 10/10 would do it again.

I was very pleased to find this brand new well managed storage facility so close to home. The staff (Jeneka and Sherwyn) were both extremely helpful in getting me started, showing me my options, offering me specials and discounts and thoroughly explaining the details of how to access the facility and my unit. The facility has parking, a loading dock, many carts to unload and carry your stuff, a restroom in the brand new office area and supplies for sale if needed. The facility is well lit and appears to be very secure. It was easy every step of the way and I am happy to have my deceased mothers treasures in a safe and secure place!
