Shanda and Andrea were super helpful and friendly and really did their best to resolve a situation that occurred due to another employee going rogue and cancelling and reselling our reservation for a unit here. We did get it sorted out with their help but it should never have happened in the first place. Advice is to claim your unit as fast as possible as they really go quickly and make sure you see it first. And make the front desk your friends as they can really be your best help when things get sticky.

I had a terrible experience at this storage facility. I don't recommend this facility as it worsened my moving experience. TLDR: Eddie (tattooed 5'8 man) at the desk told me I could move my things into a storage unit. My movers moved everything in, only to be told that the unit was already taken, and I had to move my items again myself as my movers had left. Despite being promised a discount for the inconvenience, I never received it. I was also charged a waiting fee by my apartment cleaners because of the delay caused by this mix-up. When I arrived on June 30th 2024, only Eddie was working during a busy shift. He assigned me a dirty unit but found another available one (0226) after I expressed concerns. After my movers transferred my items and I locked the unit, Eddie informed me I had to move the items again as the unit was already rented. My movers couldn't stay as they were late for another job, and I had to move everything. Eddie had to help other customers and clean the original unit before the transfer could occur. Itold Eddie that CubeSmart can assign another unit to the other renter as they aren't here yet. I explained to him that my cleaners at my apartment were waiting and would charge extra, but Eddie insisted I move the items before leaving the facility. He refused to let me come back later, fearing he'd get in trouble. He promised to speak to the regional manager about a discount, but I was never contacted. This experience cost me extra fees and the hassle of moving my items myself. CubeSmart needs adequate staffing on shifts, clean units ready for rent, and should avoid assigning already rented units.

Moving can be incredibly hard and stressful. However, the manager of this location and a man in her team have been fantastic throughout the process: professional, agile, and nice. On May 6, 2024, I left a steamer on the premises. I spoke to an employee, and she CONFIRMED it was there. I came on June 23, and it couldn't be found, but an employee gave me the office number. On Monday, the 24th, I called 3 times but no one picked up. So I came in person since they are avoiding the phone lines. I told them about the steamer and Vanessa the person I spoke to on the 6th and 7th of May "doesn't remember" and the 2 fools called the Manager Amber. She didn't bother to help sooth the situation at all. They need to give me money for the steamer or make the storage unit free till I leave.

What a great facility! I was hesitant to use another storage facility after a horrible experience at Manhattan Mini Storage in Chelsea (I had constant mice issues in my unit at MMS). To my surprise Cube Smart at 313 Butler Street went above and beyond my expectations. Right from the beginning, when Amber at the front desk helped me, I knew something was going right at this place. Amber was so friendly and knowledgeable about the facility. She helped me choose the right sized storage unit for what I needed. Amber also helped me understand the neighborhood a bit with regards to parking at the facility (there's a handful of indoor parking spots) and also street parking. Once inside the facility, to my surprise, the hallways were carpeted! Now I know to some this might sound like a bad combo for a storage facility, but the carpeting was extremely new and fresh, even had that fresh carpet smell. The security is great, you need to enter a code to enter the unit area and then a code again to go up in elevator, so I felt extremely safe. There were plenty of hand trucks to use to help cart your stuff to your unit. The prices are extremely affordable, which was also a nice surprise, plus a nice first month discount which was nice. There was a cute little surprise at the end when you first open your storage facility (and no, not a mouse.. haha), it was this little welcome package with your key inside a CubeSmart paper bag. Just sitting in your unit waiting for you. Honestly, small touches like this go a long way, it just shows that they care, and having someone who has your back and cares for you in this big city really does go a long way. Thank you CubeSmart on Butler street, and again thank you Amber, you made my stressful move that much less stressful. Greatly appreciate it!

Okay cubesmart I am truly satisfied with everything once it's paid for an stuff. But on one instance I forwarded payment to the wrong location over a hundred dollars. When I realized it was a mistake. I opened another unit at the correct location in Brooklyn. I spoke about the mistake, I was told they would take care of it with a refund in 7 business days. It never came. I called again within 5 days, an no refund finally a week later I got through a refund was given, but a third of what was paid was returned. From$90.00 I was returned $20.00.

I was renting a CubeSmart 4x4x5 storage locker for a few years at the 3rd Ave. location that is close to this one. But with a baby imminently arriving we needed extra space. Initially I thought another locker would do the trick, but after packing everything up I realized I needed a proper unit! 5x10x8 looked like the perfect step up, however 3rd Ave. didn't have availability. Fortunately the nearby Butler St. location did, so I quickly changed the plan in the early morning before the move-in. After a stressful U-Haul load up at home and then at 3rd Ave, I made my way over to Butler St. and things got a lot easier. Lavon was super friendly and helpful in getting me setup with the best unit for my needs and convenience. Surprisingly had a bit more room to spare than I initially imagined. The unit and facility generally are clean and I appreciated some things in contrast to 3rd Ave. like being a ~10 min walk from home (!), covered parking, a door that is faster to open, and a much faster elevator. Despite being on the 6th floor I quickly transferred the contents of my 10' U-Haul into the new unit. Pricing was also much better than 3rd Ave. for some reason. Butler St. did seem a little busier than 3rd Ave. but this wasn't an issue with two elevators and what seemed like plentiful carts. It actually makes me feel better about the location switch, along with staff like Lavon who had a lot of pride in the facility and Glen who made my unit spotless.

Overall, place seems decently clean, not as many carts for the size of the space. the two different covered parking areas looks convenient for whenever someone is using a vehicle. Well lit. Considering how large the place is though, it absolutely needs more carts. The few times i've been there, there has yet to be a cart available to use.

Cubesmart needs to: 1. Hire more employees. Often times I would want to go the bathroom or ask the front desk a question and the door was locked, with nobody at the desk. On moving day I waited around for 20 minutes with movers wasting time because the place was understaffed. 2. Communicate their policies better. I was never told that my bill cycle started the day I paid for the room, rather than the day I started using my room. This required many phone calls and wasted time to set things straight. The only reason I’m not giving one star is because the price was pretty reasonable. I but I wouldn’t recommend this place.

The staff at this CubeSmart, at 313 Butler Street in Brooklyn, are great. Friendly and helpful. The facility is clean and bright. I can’t say positive things about management; when extreme weather resulted in wetness (not flooding) in the basement units, they were singularly unhelpful in compensating us for the cost of help to move the contents of our 10x10 to an upstairs unit (we are older and could not do it on our own). Do store here. Don’t take a basement unit!

Inexpensive and clean. The customer service is hot and cold. The lady who helped us select our unit was very nice. The short, angry little man who checked us out when we vacated was rude. I just got off the phone speaking with a woman at this facility. I had thought, given the area, the price, and the good reviews, it would come with professionalism. I was set to book there but had a few basic questions. I was immediately shocked with how rude the woman was who answered the phone. I asked her about the price listed on sparefoot for a unit at their location and she said, "What price? No. And we don't even have 5x15 units." Then she checked and the price was correct, as were the dimensions. She then proceeded to treat me like I would be lucky to rent from there so I should just book without asking anything. She was raising her voice, acted incredibly annoyed that I didn't want to book without knowing anything about the procedure or the facility - even though I've never booked a storage unit before and it's literally her job to give me information. I tried to hold on and get answers despite her condensation, because I'd truly wanted to just settle on that place - but after 5 minutes of gritting my teeth during this demeaning interaction, it occurred to me to ask about insurance, and she actually laughed out loud at me - apparently it's something you always have to purchase? But how would I know that? So, I got off the phone. Your location is now out thousands of dollars from me, and several other friends I have in the area who are looking for units. Why would I give my money to a place that seemed annoyed I should dare to want to rent a unit? This is a storage facility, not a coveted condo. I assume this woman is paid? It's her job to answer questions and at an absolute minimum, treat customers will respect. Hire better. Train better.

Edit 7/14/23: Today I received a called from the district manager. Janet was professional and apologetic for how this particular employee handled the situation. She also explained that the stairs would work in case of emergency for people to leave from the first floor, but to access other floors we will need a key. She offered me a month free, which i didn't expect or asked for but I appreciate it. Overall I am glad Cube Smart takes customer's complain seriously so I am giving them more stars. —— I liked the place but for the past 6 months both elevators have been out of order a lot, because they are doing construction. Today was the 3rd time with the elevators being out of order and I had no access to my unit on the 2nd floor. The person who worked there (the only male worker) was very unpleasant. We asked if he could at least put a sign outside the door to let people know there’s no access to other floors so we don’t waste time unloading the car, but he didn’t care. He also said I can’t use the stairs and didn't explain why. It’s a safety hazard if customers don’t have access to the stairs, regardless whether the elevators are working or not and it’s a big concern for safety.

This facility was extremely clean, well taken care of, and most of the staff was very friendly. It had all of the things I needed for the move, including carts on the premises. You do have to pay for locks from them if you don’t want to buy your own, but that’s a given. The smaller units are high where you need a ladder to get to them, but this was okay for me as my things were not many or extremely heavy. Good security as well (have to use a pin code to get in the building and elevator).

This was my first time engaging with a self-storage company, and am I glad that it was with CubeSmart. And more specifically I’m glad it had been the Boerum Hill branch. The staff there were very lively, very helpful, and made my end-to-end experience with CubeSmart a delight. Naya, along with her other staff members Amber, Glen, and Jacob gave me a lovey tour of the facilities when I was still making the decision to make use of their facilities. The cleanliness of the storage spaces as well as the whole building was the deciding factor to do so! While deliberating on which space to select, Amber was very helpful in guiding me through their options. And during my move-out Naya paid extra care to ensure I enjoyed the service. Wasn't able to get the name of the representative who helped us both days but guessing from the reviews, it might've been Glen! Me and my roommate came in advance to sign our lease and check out the unit the day before and the rep at the front desk was super helpful and sweet and very transparent about any extra costs and such. He even helped us today in finding some carts since we used their partner A Super Move, Inc. to help us get to the location! As college students by themselves having to deal with everything on our own, this was our best option and we're happy that everything went smooth! Tip: 5x5 is way more spacious than you realize! Especially the basement units so if you're a college student as well (no furniture just boxes and stuff) definitely get a 5x5. We did a first month free and only had to pay fees such as the $25 admin fee, $18 lock and the $12/mo insurance!

The space itself is brand new so everything is modern and clean. My only two minor gripes: it wasn’t clear to me that insurance was extra until I was signing the lease, and trying to make an appointment to view a storage space over the phone was a disaster. They basically just left me on hold. However I think that was the main office and not the fault of this store. Overall, would definitely recommend. PRO TIP: just walk into the store rather than try to do anything over the phone.

The storage unit flooded and this isn't covered by the standard insurance. I was also expected to be able to move all my stuff to a different unit after flooding, while I was out of the country for several months. Finally, they do not offer any way to get rid of furniture or large items that you no longer want. Stay away!

When you have a negative experience just trying to sign up for the service it can't be a good sign of things to come. The rep who contacted me regarding my reservation was just aggressive and unprofessional for no reason. I had two questions about the process (the address to use on the online reservation because I was planning to complete the process online and how the moving process works) and instead of receiving simple answers I got an unnecessary attitude and presumptions from the rep who seemed bothered that I had called more than helpful. She seemed to be trying to deter me from even signing up, throwing in "just know the unit is 9 feet up so you'll need a ladder to get your stuff in there " which I wouldn't have minded had it not been for her overall demeanor during the call. I did speak to a VERY nice rep at the Cube Smart customer service line when I called to cancel my reservation so that is why I gave two stars. I will keep searching for a storage space and may wind up with Cube Smart just not at this location. *****Just an update. I had a great follow up with the company regarding the experience today soon after I posted my review they reached out to me. It's greatly appreciated that they took the time to hear out my concerns. The place is clean and organized, as well as secure with cameras. Mike was incredibly helpful - we got a unit a bit small and he kindly helped us through that ordeal to change to a larger unit. I could not recommend this place enough if you’re looking for storage. Pricing is very reasonable too.

Building flooded and all my stuff was ruined. The only support I got was a pamphlet for the insurance company that I had to ask for. The insurance company also is also making it seem like they won't cover it. I should have just thrown all my stuff off away. It would have been a lot more cost effective.

The front line staff at this location are very kind and try to be accommodating however they are not empowered to do the right thing for the customer which is why I’m even giving this two stars. They have to constantly call the manager for approval and when I had an issue with my bill, it took three days to get a call back from the manager. I was also informed that they can raise the rent at any time with 30 days notice, which was not communicated when I signed up and makes me feel like after only a month of a rental rate, they are planning to raise rates. The units are new and clean at least but the service needs to be modernized for 2021 standards.

These people have plenty branches. They know exactly what they doing. every branch is air conditioned and heated. All of them have a pleasant atmosphere carpeted floors you can get whatever you want. the people in the office know exactly what and how they are doing things. and they can answer any question that you might have. A great place to store whatever you want to store. just keep it up guys

Had a great experience moving into CubeSmart! Bri was great! She clearly cares about providing exception customer service and making sure you get checked in and situated as quickly and seamlessly as possible. The space overall is super clean and nice compared to some other public storages. It's also one of the only storage places open late on the weekends. It's climate controlled and they do pest control monthly so your goods are in good hands. Glad we found them!
