Temperature in my unit from August last year til January 2024 was not controlled which I payed for.Informed management in August that the storage unit was very hot. Now in January 2024 my storage unit was too cold. This caused damage to items in my storage unit that can’t be fixed or replaced. Employee stated that corporate is aware as has done nothing to fix the issue. Put in claim and they denied saying I was claiming mold when that wasn’t the issue. And that I am not covered. But my contract stated temperature control environment. Thinking I might need to contact legal counsel for this matter to be settled in my favor.

Took my stuff out of Cube smart due to negligence on management and the Cube Smart company. Temperature in my unit from August last year til January 2024 was not controlled which I payed for.Informed management in August that the storage unit was very hot. Clean, secure and convenient space, but their business model is to lock you in and keep raising prices. My cube went from $140+ to more than $200 within a couple of years. They will give you every excuse but the corporation seems unable to control their costs, while also suffering from insatiable greed. Don't use them unless you must, and better to have an exit plan right from the beginning.

Beyond my expectations. I was expecting run down motels feels and instead got a 4 star hotel for my belongings. Kevin the GM was so kind to help me out and give me the run down of what to know keeping my stuff there. He showed me how to use the step ladder and helped me find my locker. Also the online experience was super quick and easy. Very straight forward and provided all the information. The place it’s self is very clean and there is nice carpeting through the halls and is climate controlled. I feel safe leaving my belonging there and am not worried about things getting gross having to sit there long term.

Sales guy " Miguel" is very friendly, nice and helpful! Place is big, has different size unit and very clean! The staff at this Cubesmart location have always been great so this should have been a 5 star review except for the fact that they failed to do what they were supposed to which is to allow me to safely and securely store my belongings. Last August, the storage unit flooded during heavy rains and my unit, which was on the ground floor, was one of the ones that got flooded. However, I was NEVER notified so I didn't discover that my belongings got wet until I visited my unit in October. By then, my things had already molded and I ended up having to throw away over $2k worth of items including some irreplaceable books. On top of that, the insurance which I was forced to pay $12 a month for to rent the unit was completely worthless as it didn't cover flood loss. So all in all, it was a total loss for me. The staff tried to rectify it by giving me a discount on the new unit I moved to but it still doesn't cover everything I lost due to Cubesmart's negligence. For that, I will never use these storage facilities again and don't recommend a company that forces a customer to buy worthless insurance. Update: Note that Cubesmart's social media team reaches out to you after you leave a negative review to say to contact them but it's all lip service. Never heard back from them. Further reinforces that this company is not to be trusted.

Second update: still love this place but they're reducing their access hours to 9am-6pm. This is hurting us and the biggest reason why we moved out of the previous location. We're not sure if we can justify the utility of this location with these new hours... decision is pending Update: love this place. I have no complaints. The roads in the area suck and are bumpy but that's not their fault. Location is great, right by the Whitestone Expressway, but you might need GPS if you're not familiar with the area. Lots of space for loading/unloading, lots of carts, big elevator, everything is clean. I wish their access hours were a little later in the evening; they close at 630 each day, currently, but still 5 stars.

Tjader was extremely helpful in showing us our options for spaces- I really appreciated her courtesy and professionalism- and grace under pressure (there was definitely a lot going on when we visited). The moving company (A Smart Move) this facility uses for their free move doesn't give me any confidence after reading the many (horrible) reviews, so the move in special isn't all its cracked up to be. I wouldn't trust A Smart Move to move rocks. Still, the CubeSmart facility is nice and clean and the staff is really helpful so, mostly a win.

The facility is clean and bright. I haven’t moved anything in yet but my experience in selecting a unit was excellent. The General Manager Melissa Maldonado was pleasant and helpful. She showed me a few units and was clear in her descriptions and suggestions. She was very patient with me. I wear hearing aids and have trouble understanding people when they are wearing masks. Extremely smooth process and they really seem to care about their customers. After I locked in a rate online the person I spoke to over the phone informed me they didn't have the size I was originally looking for - so she honored the original rate and gave me the next size up! When we came in to check out the unit and make sure it was what we needed the manager, Tjader Brown, was super helpful personally showing us around a few different units to find the ones that were right for us and guiding us through the whole thing and making sure we still got the best deal for our storage needs.

I was helped by Tjader Brown at this location. She was fantastic, if I could give her 10+ stars I would! She showed me different storage cubes and we discussed the pros and cons to each. She helped me reserve the one I wanted. It was a very enjoyable experience and the facility looks clean and well kept. After six months the price goes up about 30%. I was able to have them hold my initial price which was helpful. However I'm in the 13th month now and the price went up about 30%. That's a lot for a senior citizen. I am hoping to be able to get my stuff out of there very soon! However, it is still very clean and the employees are all pleasant and helpful.

Part of the building is old and leaking inside. They where charging me lots of money since cubesmart took over. my rates kept on going up. When I moved because of hard times (covid-19) they listed my unit for half the price I was paying but they couldn’t lowered it for me. Good luck with the leaking building walls crumbling on top of your property. If cubesmart would like to refund my money for the one day I overstayed of $42 for one day after the month started I would appreciate it.

The manger was great and his customer support was amazing however there was an exceptionally rude female employee that was completely unprofessional and rude for no reason and would become hostile upon asking her any questions about the storage area and our unit there.

I have been a customer of CubeSmart for several years (College Point - Whitestone Expressway). Recently I combined 2 storage rooms into 1 larger one. I highly recommend this specific location to everyone because of the outstanding staff members. CubeSmart actually took over this site from previous owners. The construction/ upgrade transition phase was smooth with a focus on customers satisfaction at all times. The current staff members are always helpful, friendly, highly professional. They are: Jeannette Mejias (general manager) as well as the 3 managers: Larae Lucas, Robin Archibald, Miguel Telleria. I’m a believer in you get what you pay for, in this situation that’s not the case. They raised rates as well as made things more inconvenience for their customers. This location is under construction. Also has been various times I had a hard time getting in my storage, do to there being one entrance while they under go changes which are being made at the moment. All the reasons I picked this location for are no longer available. I’m very disappointed!!!!

Last Saturday Robin, who also goes by Reneé, was spectacular! She was welcoming, helpful, knowledgeable of the entire process, size of storage units, prices and discounts. I have more than enough space for my needs. The entire place was clean, fresh smelling as they were doing renovations, organized and well lit. She was patient in answering my questions, as she showed me around and was very clear on their policies. She provided pamphlets of information and hours of operation. I obtained a brand new unit with lovely tiled floors and plan on moving my items in soon. Hoping to see her this Saturday to thank her again for her assistance in person. Great employee....please recognize her efforts.

My experience at this Cubesmart was wonderful! It was a very clean and friendly environment. The prices are reasonable depending on the unit. Jeanette was very professional, sweet and helpful. She explained in detail about the storage unit and answered any additional questions. I would definitely recommend any Cubesmart for storage but most definitely this one in particular as for not many have such a caring, friendly staff.

I was forced to give 1 Star; actually -0 Stars would have been my choice; Alex Gio, another reviewer of CubeSmart 31-40 Whitestone Exp. said it perfectly; but my gripe right now is mainly with their General Manager Jeannette. My unit is up for auction on the 18th of October; I am a Senior, and have been quite ill recently having a stroke and expressed this to GM Jeannette; Two truly dedicated individuals David and Ferman, outstanding, caring men who went above and beyond to show most at "Storage Quarters" that the facility was like no other. They have been replaced now,; Ms. Jeannette has taken control of the reigns and seemingly feels her position now is to run it into the ground, maintain a nasty, arrogant attitude, a military environment and prove her point that she is tough, without a heart and could care less if you lose your memories; yes, to those reading this, this is a business, now that its CubeSmart, but Storage Quarters was a business built on family values. David, formerly of Storage Quarters, would actually call the owner of Storage Quarters, and with his permission, be given extensions on partial payments and extend the auction dates to help those in need. Twice this month, I came to put $1,000 towards my arrears; Ms. Jeanette declined to accept my payment; Today, the Angel of the facility, Ms. Robin went above and beyond her duties and placed a call to GM Jeannette asking if she would now accept $2,000; she declined again to accept it stating she will not take a partial payment and that the full amount of $2,358.58 must be paid. I stated I can pay the $358.58 on Friday, the 13th; she said "will not accept".... I then placed a call to the cellphone of the District Manager, Patrick....his voicemail says he will be glad to return his calls; I realize its Sunday....who knows, maybe I'll hear from him tomorrow, or maybe never. I say a prayer for myself that I will come up with the $358.58 by the 18th and I say a prayer for others in my position, that help does come your way. I also would like to recommend that Ms. Robin be seriously looked up as an upcoming Star at CubeSmart because she is compassionate, professional, respectful, intelligent for such a young Lady, maintains composure and always SMILES which is so welcoming. Ms. Robin is a huge asset to CubeSmart and I truly hope she does not get pushed into the backroom of bureaucracy. She is a bright light at this facility and would make an outstanding leader because she is the perfect example of leadership. Jeannette just frowns like she hates her job and but loves to show power; there is a time and place for outside power; inside the building a person dealing with customers must be professional yet show kindness in their demeanor; be outgoing, pleasant and be humble. I will not deal with Jeannette ever again and if I can maintain my unit; i promise to followup on the other inside aspects of this facility. Like it or not, many customers that maintained units with Storage Quarters are expressing their dislike of the new facility; lets see where we go from here. Anyone could be in my position; We shop and eat where we are treated with respect and respect does go both ways; why shop at a place that treats you bad when there are so many other stores to go to. *** Just a small note regarding one reviewer; Ms. Paula Daniels stated over 9 months ago that CubeSmart was an excellent facility here at Whitestone Expressway ; but from what I understand, 9 months ago, "STORAGE QUARTERS" was still the owner; please correct me if I am wrong . So the cuddos should go to Storage Quarters. Unless something changes here with their General Manager, as long as I live and breathe, I will never recommend this storage facility to anyone.

After making a reservation request online, we received a call within the hour to come in and inspect the available storage rooms. Upon arriving, we were immediately and warmly greeted by Jennette, Robin and Paul. Robin patiently showed us the various storage rooms in this CubeSmart facility. She was most helpful in explaining to us the advantages of each room and answered all of our questions. Our experience here was top notch and we look forward to using this facility.

Since they took over this place, the following has a occurred. Raised rates by 20%, removed dumpster to throw out garbage (a nice benefit to the old STORAGE QUARTERS), and now the elevators don't work. All of this with the added benefit of unsympathetic staff. I'm going to start to look for another unit. The writing is on the wall for this place already. Avoid at all costs.

As a customer of multiple units for many years, Cubesmart came in with their corporate greed in complete attack mode. Not only was Storage Quarters a great facility but it was run by kind people. Its only been about a month, and already its been turned into some crazy kind if Ghetto storage place. Rates on my 3 units increased tremendously, and the help here isn't very nice or friendly. They do things by the book and when you try talking to them, you get the blank "I just want my $12/hour" stare and they go back to Cubesmart "rules". The place is flat out dirty. They clearly don't sweep and mop every few days like the last guys, and maybe they touch the toilet once a day. Finding a cart was silly. You have to walk all over the place to hopefully find one. The old system had you drop your ID at the front desk before giving you a cart, ensuring that it goes back where it belongs. Things seem very out of order. The old punch pad security system has now been permanently disabled as well to gain access to the facility. They should have come by and hung out with the old guys to see that it was a well oiled machine. I am in and out about once a week and the decline has been dismal. I would NOT recommend coming here. You can easily find a spot That's actually in the ghetto not far away for about half the price. They have a Monopoly on storage in Flushing and the surrounding area now, so Good Luck. I will gladly speak to anyone in corporate, but I'd imagine a corporate response as well instead, of a real human. Best of luck all.

Storage Quarters, Queens New York, in whitestone was recently taken over by Q Smart. I was surprise and upset that a storage that was friendly and open it became generic and robotic, they nickel and dime you for everything doesnt care for it's customers or loyalty. I'm very disappointed. After over 20 plus years of renting at this place, only after Cube smart took over about two years ago my unit double in price, I original had someone from Pennsylvania corporate office claim to be the eastern regional manager contacted me and all he said that my unit is not the going rate (which tun out to be a lie) since Im paying for the same size and even closer to my home. I have never seen such disregard towards customers apparantly Corporate greed over customer loyalty, The unit I had prior arrangements and cube smart did not honor that, again has no discounts not even for loyal customers and veterans. I will never do bussines with a greedy company that prefers profits over its customers, very disappointed thevway I was treated and lied to very dishonest business.

I had a very good experience with this self storage places during my last move. Susan was very helpful and super patient with my many questions, since I had never purchased a storage unit before. Love how clean and well-lit this place is - some of the others are dingy and dark. I feel that my stuff is safe and secure. That is a good feeling after a stressful move from a large house to a small apartment. :)

Save yourself a headache and go with the pros for self storage here – they guard my stuff like it is their own! That feels good to know my items are safe and secure in a clean locked space. Customer service was good and it was easy to contact them and the hours are convenient. Will be sure to tell my friends and family if they need storage to go to here first. The wesbsite needs to be updated with the correct hours of operation . during the week it says it closes at 8pm (and 5pm saturdays)but we drove by now ( tuesday at 727pm) and its closed... same thing on saturday (we drove by at 430pm and they were already closed)

I have been using Storage quarters for the past 4 years, I had no problem until recently, they decided to change their hours without letting the renters know about it. I find it unfair and lacking business savvy. In business communication is the key. What if I did not pay on time, I am sure I would be getting a nasty note from Storage Quarters management. What makes it worse is the attitude of the attendant that was their when I got their at 7;15, he wasn't friendly at all, mind you the site still has the hours posted as 8:00 am to 8PM. I think the website needs to be updated. SHAME ON YOU STORAGE QUATERS!
