Omari and JJ were extremely courteous and professional. Their customer service was excellent! I had no choice but to move out because their prices became too much to handle! They went up in price every 6 months. I would have stayed but it just became unaffordable!

Let’s first start with my sign up process. The person who helped me was great. She was helpful. Everything went smoothly, no issues. The issues started when 3-4 months after I signed up for my unit during one of their promo , I get an email stating my storage unit price was going up. So apparently signing all the paper work does give you the price for the time you’re there. They can raise it at any time. Which , had I been told, I’d have kept looking or prepaid for my time there. I called customer service to inquire on why this was happening and so soon after I got the unit. I was told they would have someone contact me in 48 to 72 hrs. I still haven’t had a call from anyone. The unit price jumped $40! I paid it for 3 months more as I was moving and would just take my things. I moved this past Saturday and couldn’t fit everything in my uhaul. Since I had to do one more day of work in ny I decided I’d get the rest to avoid another months bill. I had to come back to New York today. Today is July 2nd and I’m paid up for up to July 16. I get out of work at 5:30 and made it to queens at 6:30 and to the nail 15 mins before close. The gates weren’t working, it said only works until 6:30 even tho they close at 7. The same person who signed me up was there and she let me in. Same thing happened with the elevator. Wouldn’t let me in said closed as of 6:30. Again I needed to be let up. I rushed and brought it all down in on trip and loaded what I could into my friends car and waited for him to return for me and the other few items. When I asked earlier if I had to physically be here to cancel I was told yes. While I was waiting for my friends return I called customer service and they canceled the unit for me. This location closes too early. It’s not for working people. Makes no sense. And the price jump is outrageous. Not even a 5 or 10$ increase but 40! And will continue to rise whenever they choose. Never would I ever again. And I’d never recommend them. The persons I’ve interacted with at this location have all been very nice. This review does not reflect their service but the company itself. Stick to your prices and if price increases must happen do so moderately not drastically. Also it should be more convenient to access your items at the times you’re free.

I’ve legitimately came across two different people in two separate occasions in this storage unit , coming out of their units from the top and the other one in a bottom unexpectedly as if they were on a look out. The first occasion was in the first floor where a short bald man is always near a mobile staircase and his top unit, the second occasion was someone in the bottom unit however when i looked over it was empty and someone they had cleared it out or knew that was empty however this establishment struck a cord when i saw a man peaking his head out , out of his own unit. It just doesn’t feel safe. I’m really not sure what’s happening here, but I’ll have to look into a new and secure storage unit… this unit is susceptible and it’ll be too late to recover any losses.

Multiple occasions I’ve been alone in my floor and people come out of their units like dorms. Either this place has a hotel sting or they’re literally accepting anyone who comes in the door with money and ID. This unit has no security and when there was an altercation with two customers there was no worker on the floor nor no kiosk for emergency to reach for assistance. You could get stabbed inside this building and no one won’t know because of the lack of security and cameras in the building. You could hide bodies in here and no one would know. I’ve been a customer for five years and my last straw was when someone left their locker unattended while occupying the bathroom , four people were waiting for the only bathroom in the unit and the person started to yell at them for touching a ladder. This cube smart isn’t safe.

Pros: Overall, the facility is clean and maintained well by the environmental services staff. The gentleman is pleasant and helpful, if needed, whenever he is around. Cons: The onsite management is unprofessional and unresponsive to complaints. If you follow up on the lack of communication and ongoing concern, the response is defensive and dismissive. I made several complaints regarding a persistent issue for 18-months, and still there is no resolution. I’ve escalated my concern to the District Manager, and still there has been no resolution to the matter. My recommendation is to contact their corporate offices in an effort to have any accountability for your concerns.

It’s clean, non smelly and the personnel are very helpful and friendly. There’s a covered area to park your vehicle while loading and unloading which was a life saver for me considering that it was torrentially raining the day I moved in. All in all it was a wonderful experience.

The hours at this facility are not convenient to people who work 9-5pm. The elevators are slow, the moving truck that you have advertising on the property doesn’t even work so you can’t use it. What kind of business is this? Why is there only 1 moving truck and why hasn’t it been fixed ? The staff is phenomenal going above and beyond to help people. The business seems like a rip off. I was supposed to get a truck for free for renting a storage unit the driver never called me back, the company never called me to confirm a time they just picked any time and then I just missed out on a moving truck. This place is scam I wouldn’t recommend this storage place definitely go else where O stars.

I have a unit at cubesmart 186-02 jamaica avenue jamaica queens 11423.I am a domestic violence survivor ,my personal belonging been store there while I been in the hospital.My bill were always paid and I kept in contact with the staff ,always assuring me my belonging were safe ,however after I recover and went to my unit several items of my belongings were stolen my unit was turn upside down ,the general manager lynise took a report on the incident ,she had a very bad and toxic attitude .The district manager called me back 2 days later and never resolved the matter .I have obtained the help of an attorney to move forward legally .They have cause me a domestic violence survivor so much mental stress and duress ,this experience have set me back with my mental healing . I can truly say these employees at this location will smile in your face an play courteous ,but I have truly prove them to be dishonest an what they did to me a domestic violence survivor is mental torture stealing several of my belongings .

These people are forever leaving 30-45 minutes early from this location and the time they suppose to be here they’re running extremely late and it’s unfortunate that I’m straying my stuff here because I get poor service all the time. The cubesmart at 186-02 Jamaica Ave is a very clean and staff friendly location. As a senior citizen, I've been met with nothing but kindness and professionalism. I had so much stuff to put in my car the other day and without even asking, Tito, the maintenance man offered to help me pack my car! He was so wonderful and helpful and should get a raise! Lol ?? I’ve had a storage unit at CubeSmart at the Jamaica location form 2017 up until a few days ago I closed out my unit. … The services I’ve received from the staff’s Jonathan and Lynise and others, are impeccable. The staffs are very welcoming, friendly, helpful and professional. They do their very best to make sure you get the best services CuneSmart has to offer. I would recommend CubeSmart Self Storage to my family and friends.

The worst customer service I have every experience. The store opens at 9:00 am, however there is no one that could help me until 10:30 am, which was the General Manager/Store Manager, while she was physically in the store she refused to actually work until 10:30 am because she didn't want to clock overtime. Crazy!

Newly married couple, first time using a storage unit. Mechela, our service agent, was an incredible example of customer service done right. She was professional, quite personable and knowledgeable. The Cubesmart facility itself was clean and secure with convenient access to handtrucks and elevators. I walked in this afternoon just so I could get a better sense of the size of their 5 x 5 lockers. Jonathan and Darnicia were BEYOND helpful. Jonathan took me for a tour while Darnicia watched the rest of the store. He showed me the two units I was looking to see and explained the cost difference between getting a unit on the first floor versus a higher floor. They exec explained the insurance options and how I might use my existing homeowner's insurance. Their customer service and attentiveness were everything I needed to feel good about my decision to secure a storage space. I'll be back!

The staff is great. Janiah was helpful with the application process and kindly showed me several available units and answered my questions. Be aware that if you decide to switch your stuff to a different unit within the space (like if you need a bigger unit or smaller unit) you will be charged the full price rather than the "online price." Access hours are on the short side. It's often tough to get in there on the weekdays between 9 AM and 6:30 PM, so it's busy on the weekends when everyone is trying to get into their units at once.

I gave Cube Smart 1 star due to the payment concerns. I was not informed at the time of initiation that there would be a rate increase after six months. And it is greatly an inconvenience to have to come to the store to make the monthly paymnents without incurring an additional service fee charge. You are not able to make payments via phone, email or app without a service fee. During these unprecendented times there should be an option to do this without an additonal service fee charge. Will look into alternate Storage options.

Great affordable unit for when I was in college and the staff is friendly and helpful. Shoutout Tito for helping cut my lock off and get rid of the trash when I was moving out. Would definitely recommend to students who live out of state but go to school in NY.

I have nothing but good things to say about the place. Everyone was very helpful and my belongings felt secure. Tito, the maintenance man was extremely helpful one morning when movers arrived to the storage unit early. After confirming who I was, he let me in and got me squared away before anyone else got there. He was also very respectful and professional. I can’t speak highly enough of the man.

I had a unit here at 186 and Jamaica ave for a couple of years. It has been a great experience working with Tito,Byron and Tiffany. They were always patient, helpful and courteous with me. None of my items were stolen or damaged etc. Bathroom is kept clean too. I had 1 small oil leak from a pipe above,fortunately it didn't ruin my things but I told Tito about it and within minutes he cleaned it up and fixed the hole so it wouldn't happen again and ruin 2 gorgeous lamps under the pipe. Tito is the man! Very helpful....id store with them again if need be!

I never have a problem there its always clean the and also the 2 ladies that work there are so nice but say I'm nice as well. Only thing I don't like is that they raise the storage fee every few months and with a pandemic going on and no job its very hard sometimes. Plus they need sanitizer stations on every floor by the elevator .

My first visit where I received primary information was very nice as everything that explained was clear. However the day I actually went to store my things , i saw a different employee who was not so nice. i was supposed to know everything on that very first day especially when explaining how to use the codes that I was given to open the gate and the elevator. That was my first time using a storage facility.

Friendly staff, store is stocked, facilities are clean and the gate always works (unlike PS). Only thing is presence of moths but I don't blame that on the facility. Been a customer for 2 years, I recommend Cubesmart to everyone, especially helpful if you're moving - makes everything easier.

I have used storage before but visiting this location was certainly an experience to remember. The staff was friendly, building was spotless and the General manager, Tiffani Rivera was absolutely AMAZING. Also, the amenities offered were a pleasant surprise considering I was expecting to just walk into to rent a unit in a boring storage office. I will certainly be recommending friends and family !!

Although the 186-02 Jamaica ave location from day one has Stellar customer service...you know there will be one fail . Byron is always professional and patient. But I believe Kayla is her name ....has the “WORST” possible telephone etiquette. So instead of the deserving Five Star this location deserves, I cannot . The way that representative conducted herself with me was deplorable. The one star it is. Kayla needs some training.

I get dizzy on heights and mention this to the clerk but to my chagrin they would not accommodate me. They had no problem renting me a more expensive space, which I feel is taking advantage of someone's medical condition, they also told me that the spaces on the ground are the same size as the ones on the second level but more expensive. for now I am homeless trying to get myself back on my feet trying to pay my child support so at this very moment I can't afford to pay more for storage. once I can afford it I'll get the bigger space on the ground but I won't be with this company. I'm sure it's industry standard practice to charge more for a space on the ground but I'll just take my business elsewhere.

Yesterday was the first time I ever rented a storage space and needles to say a little apprehensive. But Taylor soon put my fears to rest. She took time out to show me the various units available and the cost in detail. This morning I made my first storage run. Again Taylor was there to help me. And before you know it I was outta there. Very please and contented with the experience so far.

I had my items in storage for over 2 years. Aside from the fact that they raised my rent every yr which was probably on my contract (I didn't read the fine print) I had no major issues with this company. I would suggest to get your own truck to move your items as it was not offered.

Cannot trust this facility, I had items stored when I went back my key could not open my lock which I didn't have previous problems, the worker's at the desk are nice people and couldn't explain to me what happen so they cut the lock for free so I get my items.

Nice newer facility. I have utilized CubeSmart before the re-branding in Florida as well as NY. All the facilities are the same in terms of features, layout and protocols for setting up accounts and accessing the units. This review is more a general critique of the corporation as opposed to this or any specific location. My main issue is the costs which are vastly different then what is advertised. For instance, the 5x5 SMALL unit is advertised on their main website as $25 (Currently 15% off & first month free for a total of $24.65) This is INCORRECT. I paid exactly $56.59 at move in. This included the mandatory insurance of $12 (monthly for only $2K coverage which is a rip off) A $ 25 admin fee and something called a CS-670-1 DISC LOCK for $17.99 which I have never been charged for at other CubeSmart facilities at various locations in Florida (Cape Coral, Dania Beach..etc) The TRUE monthly cost which includes a $1.95 convenience fee for paying online is actually $40.30 and NOT the advertised price of $25! Either change the ads so they reflect the real costs or reduce all these excessive fee's we are charged. This is a scam. Use these facilities as a last resort and get out FAST or you end up paying excessively for something that should be temporary. Otherwise you end up spending far more storing your stuff then it's total value. UPDATE: I was also scammed by being charged for a CS-670-1 DISC LOCK for $19.59 which I did not purchase or receive. I have since filed a complaint with the BBB Complaint ID: 12631115. The GM, Janet on 2 separate occasions has falsely assured me I would get a REFUND. As of 01/30/2018 I have not received anything from CubeSmart and I have vacated my unit over a month ago!

Efrain one of the store managers went above and beyond once again, to assist me with accommodating my storage space needs. I was in a dilemma due to the moving company doing such a poor job with properly packing my belongings in the storage unit. Thank God for Efrain assisting me with figuring out how to rearrange the things in my storage unit to nicely fit the rest of my things in unit.Efrain was amazingly patience and professional on all levels! Professionally run establishment I was able to secure a unit and move my belongings within 24hrs. One minor issue was a descrepency with the initial fee. I was quoted $25.00 and the initial fee was $56.00. Other than that everything was fine.

I like my new unit, it was clean and in a nice enclosed building. The staff was helpful and even up sold me a better unit, which I was happy about because I definitely needed the bigger space. I give them a four only because they do not provide the space with enough dollies for the amount of floors and units they have in this location. It is a pretty busy place.
