The manager/on front desk who is American African origin, I guess his name is Bailey is extremely rude, and having attitude, not being helpful to the customer. The management should consider for improvement for such nasty behavior and being unprofessional.

Nasty customer service and expensive , there’s a clerk named “Felix”who’s nasty with customers, he was working on the day March 15th /2025 n Sunday 3/16/25 when I asked him why my monthly bill was raised from $169 to $210 his answer was: “we could raised it 200% if we want it and you have to pay it” …what kind of answer is that? another lady was asking another different issue and she was treated nasty by him, I think the manager from that store is his friend and doesn’t do anything about it, they don’t care… I don’t recommend this place, they are rising prices every month .

Be careful. They raise prices without warning. I had to come back from Europe to cancel out and empty my storage unit because of the price increases they did. About every 6 months there was a price increase. Finally it became unsustainable.

This place is alwaysunderstaffed. I don’t know how many times in the 2ish years we’ve used this place and needed help and someone is on break or away from the desk and cannot help customers immediately. No one should be made to wait outside because the 1 staff member on site is on lunch or otherwise away during regular business hours. There should be a minimum of two staff members at all times.

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at cubesmart ( not too smart!!!) 38-01 47th Ave, City, NY 11104due to the staff members. From the moment I approached for assistance, they were dismissive, unprofessional, and unwilling to help with even the most basic request. Instead of providing service with courtesy, they were rude, abrupt, and made it clear that they had no interest in assisting customers. When I asked a simple question, they responded with an attitude that made me feel like I was inconveniencing them. Their tone was condescending, and they showed zero effort in resolving my concern.

It was confusing when I got to the storage building. There is no trolleys so I went to customer service so now my belongings are left unguarded while I got a key to unlock the trolley.. and when you do get the trolley they are too small . There is no one to help you .. just not what I expected. Not a good experience charging $19.99 for a lock and is sitting inside locker I thought it came with the locker only to see I was charged. No explanation is the lock now mine or do it go back to Customer service when I’m finished. The customer service inside desk came across as annoyed when I asked questions and offer no help with the door that has no stopper so its so difficult trying to transfer my stuff. So over all it was terrible..

They have affordable and good units, but the workers are consistently rude. They closed early, over 10 minutes before 6pm, and ignored me when I asked if I could just drop off my 1 box quickly. I switched to a bigger unit and the guy was an absolute pain to communicate with. He talked down, wouldn't make eye contact, gave answers with no details and then was belittling to me when I asked what he meant. I'm not expecting amazing customer service, but these interactions aren't even just normal humans talking to one another...the employee's go out of their way to just be rude.

I went to this place on a a Saturday at 3pm to get information about upgrading to a bigger size storage. The guy at the front desk was not helpful at lot, and not willing to give information. I had to ask him multiple questions for him to provide the next sizes available. Horrible service!! This is the second time I encounter this gentlemen in the front desk and I ask to break my lock because we lost the keys to our storage. He said he cannot break the lock because he doesn't know how to do that! How is that possible? What kind of service are you giving people when we pay monthly for storage. Last time I went I had a two wonderful employees a female and Spanish guy who were nice enough to help us break the lock and said every employee is able to break these locks is another thing is they don't want to. I had a trip today and the fact that this guy today in the front desk is not able to help and he is so careless. He was a male with glasses who worked today on a Wednesday. Unaceeptable!

Absolutely the most atrocious customer service at this particular location. Never have I encountered an actual WHOLE team of ill-tempered, bad-mannered employees with such a disrespectful and frankly indolent way about them. As others have mentioned the facility has the dumbest opening hours, you have to take a day off from work if you intend on going midweek/ work a standard M-F 9-5. Staff regularly close the facility down so they can go home early from their “hard day” on the job. I will be moving facility soon! I’m guessing the manager/owner couldn’t give two hoots and gives me the same comment they’ve given everyone else instead of making changes; “Please email help@cubesmart.com and with your account and contact information we’ll reach out to you directly”….. I did…it was ignored! ———— UPDATE: We’ll what do you know; canned AI response from CubeSmart! You’d never have predicted it, would you!? UPDATE 2: Someone in customer service left me a Friday night voicemail, saying she was on vacation but would get back to me. Wow! I moved to the Public Storage facility on Van Dam. Today, a really weird thing happened at my facility. Each section in each floor has one tall heavy stepladder. Some very rude and inconsiderate person moved the stepladder from my section to the adjacent section and did not move it back. Stephanie was very helpful in working with me to get it put back. It was quite an experience. I'd suggest three improvements to the facility: Add another stepladder to each section, additional cameras in the corridors and a coat hook in the bathroom. I appreciate the numerical security code one needs to enter the facility but additional security measures could be implemented in the form of the cameras. My great thanks for the understanding and assistance of Stephanie and all the other staff who work hard at this facility to serve customers.

this is the first time I've used CubeSmart. I had to store some things last minute quickly, and they were able to accommodate me and the size of the unit was perfect. Everything was clean. Well kept everything I needed was there. The only drawback was the one elevator closest to where I needed to be was out of service, but the woman who helped me said that they were going to hopefully have it finished and fixed soon. She was very helpful. I would highly recommend pricing and everything is good.

47th Street location says access till 6 pm but it actually closes at 5:45 or earlier. Gate is open but there is no longer access to the building and the office is often unstaffed and the door locked. Tried calling but can’t react any staff. Prompt to leave voice mail does not allow you to leave a voice mail. Closing access at 5:45 pm how can any working person access their unit on a week day?

The worse! They do not offer assistance if you're back up with your unit, if you owe and are behind you have to pay all at once regardless if it's with your last dollar. There should be payment arrangements, so people can pay what they can and prevent an auction. That's the compassionate way to do business, as other storage room facilities offer that. They add on tremendous fees, if you are late by a few days, so I had a unit's bill go from 80 to 180 in just a matter of days for being late. I, from now on will be doing business with other storage companies. The companies that actually see those units as belonging to people and not units to possibly be sold off. The rent increases pretty steadily, which I didn't care for. No electricity access in or near the units. Closes at 8, so you can't access your stuff at night. Good customer service, though, and easy loading/unloading.

I was a customer at the 38-01 47th Ave. Queens NY for past 11 months. All those months, CubeSmart was my second home. The staff was always warm, attentive and willing to support me when I needed a dolly, access to the bathroom or purchasing a box. The level of cleanness is superb, and dollies are always available. The temperature in the storage room is comfortable regardless of how hot or cold it is outside. Ther is always parking available, and customers are respectable of the common areas. I had a wonderful experience and highly recommend this particular location. Thank you for everything CubeSmart at 38-01.

The sales agent who processed my reservation told me I could store a motorcycle at this location but when I went there in person the manager notified me this was against their policy. Cubesmart's customer service then notified me that Cubesmart has NO local locations that will allow the storage of motorcycles. They're just another big company that wants to close the sale and get you to sign the lease. Unable to Create an account online unless you already rent from them.

Giving 5 Stars because prices compare very well to their competition, plus the premises are very clean. But the Covidiocy here borders on discourtesy \ zero stars- the lobby is super humongous but only 1 customer at a time is allowed (even when up to 5 of them huddle behind the counter). When you enter someone immediately screams at you to exit and wait outside- even in inclement weather. No sign about this is posted on the door.

No comments at all, it is only that is very expensive for a small space. Lack of communications with customers, only when they are raising up the price. In the stores the service is bad, you ask for a cart or the stairs you have to help yourself and walk all around the corridors to find one, you go back to the store and these kids don't help at all. The ladies working there are very greedy. Every 3 months the add 10$ extra, so from 47$ first month for small unit, the price jump to 75$ monthly, .and the said after one year, it will be double price, what meant 85$, plus you have to pay exactly in time, or they will close your unit without any notice. But it’s different in this location this place is super clean all the time I love the prices I would recommend this place to anybody. Let me start by saying, the establishment is very clean, well kept and run fine. But the deceit REALLY made me regret choosing them. 1. " First month free" = for tiny boxes of their choosing 2. I was quoted a price, and found out after the fact that it included mandatory $12 insurance. ( I would like to choose whether or not to be forced to pay insurance. Sure, no one put a gun to my head, but to find out all of these things were included in a box that was not even on sale was upsetting. ) 3. My schedule is PACKED, TIGHT, JAMMED like a storage unit. I sleep 3-4 hours a night and I DO NOT have a car. Sounds like a whole lot of my problem, right? Sure, I can lay in the bed I've made. But being told they CLOSE AT 8PM to have to doors close on me at 7:50 something because they were in a rush to go home was BEYOND infuriating. I went IN PERSON around 6:45pm and asked , "You guys close at 8pm right? " Christian, guy on the right does "Yes." Guy on the left says " well... 7:45." That is not what it says on the lobby door or my reservation. 15 minutes is PLENTY of time to get a single box into my unit. FURTHERMORE, he said but we WILL wait until 8pm. Fine. Thank you. I left to pick up my things and I called around 7:20pm , no answer. I came on the strength of his word , begged my coworker to drive me and my belongings there. we arrived at 7:56. Gates locked, lights off, no whisper of a human being. The Harold and Kumar adventure over there with my coworker was nice. Being locked out was horrible. I am moving for very very very difficult, reasons. And to be told I will be helped and then lied to is just messed up. FOUR. I went the next stinking day after being told crisply : You missed your move in. No, I didn't, I had a wonderful communion with the gates outside , we connected on a deep level. ANYWAY. I went inside and an actual manager was there. She is the saving grace in this whole situation because she followed protocol the ENTIRE way through. She clearly explained my charges and why , even the stupid $19 lock that the other guy failed to mention. I told her I was PISSED , and she remained professional. But honestly, I'm so disgusted I cant wait to get my things out of there. TWO stars because manager girl added one. There is NOTHING wrong with CubeSmart, the facility, the prices (debatable) , the layout, or any of that. I just left with a HORRIBLE taste in my mouth. The whole experience really negatively colored my view of the company. DO NOT tell someone they have time when they don't. If you are rushing to go home, then say so. Do not promise what you can not deliver. Offended doesn't cover the gist of my anger. This might seem really intense over 4 minutes, but I have learned through terrible circumstances to value every second of my life. DO NOT waste my time. - Sincerely, PISSED in NY

So, Kevin, who helped me, was very nice. And all 3 of these stars really belong to him. Because CubeSmart is a bunch of liars. The website said $39 and half off the first month. What they *dont* tell you is that this is for a 5x5x4 space NINE FEET off the floor. They also don't tell you there's a mandatory insurance, and they charge $12 a month for it. You can get it for less elsewhere, but the hassle may not be worth it. When I got there, all of this was explained. In the end, I paid $62 a month for a floor level space, all in. Kevin kindly ported the half off first month to this other space. Also remember to bring your own lock which likely costs you less than $7 but they charge $18 for it. If it wasn't so convenient, and Kevin not so nice, I would have bailed.

I had an issue with my lock. (I'd lost my key). Mimi at the front desk bent over backwards to help me, while being vigilant in properly verifying my identity to insure security. (My wife is the primary holder of the account). Once I was cleared, David worked hard in clipping the extra thick lock off which involved a lot of sparks. They were both cheerful, accommodating and professional through the whole process. I've had a locker at this facility for several years and I've always had great interactions with the excellent staff. It's kept clean and safe. Great facility.

Renting storage was quick and easy, the facility is great. The rep I spoke to, David, was extremely friendly and helpful. One thing to keep in mind if you have your own renter's insurance: you need proof that you have it AND that it covers your property stored in a storage unit. Make sure you have that prepped in advance. It wasn't stated as explicitly on the website (the second part about coverage at a storage unit), but David was helpful enough to clarify my questions and hold my locker until I could get my paperwork in order.

The staff here are great. Sarah's who helped me every time I've gone so far, and she's very friendly and patient. Good, friendly customer service makes such a big difference, especially when going through a stressful move which we were at the time. I was hesitant to get a storage unit at first, but the facilities are clean and easy to navigate. And I'm surprised at how much stuff we can fit in a 5x5x5 space!

My mother died and I needed to retrieve the items in her storage unit Apparently this was new situation for the staff. The manager Jason Dietz, checked with the legal department and the very next day all issues were resolved. Jason and the rest of the staff, Mimi, Kevin, and Sara were all pleasant, accommodating, and helpful. I can't say enough about the wonderful and painless experience that I had here. Customer service is such a lost art these days.

Went to cubesmart on a late Sunday afternoon just right before closing and I was greeted by this amazing client service rep, Von, who has a wonderful personality. I was expecting to be rushed but surprisingly Von was very accommodating, very thorough and was more than eager to help and show me around the facility and the different rooms available. Customer service sure adds value. I didn't think twice of signing up.

I like that it was fast process from the reservation to actually getting the unit. They followed up the reservation with you and the representative J Dietz who assisted me to get the unit handled the job so well. I was a little disappointed though that the unit I was offered from the reservation was not the unit I was told when I visited the storage the same day I made the reservation . Well the representative J Dietz solved it all. He guided me on what other options I can avail. He even offered me the free in truck . So getting a free 1st month rent plus a move in truck is a plus. The facility was clean and secured as you can only access your floor.

CubeSmart LIC is immaculate and staff are very accommodating. Yesterday, 24 Oct. had my storage downgraded to a smaller one as I pulled out a lot of my stuff and it only took seconds to work on it thru the efficiency of their manager Jason Dietz. I highly recommend CubeSmart LIC!
