My mother’s storage unit was flooded when it rained. Countless belongings and irreplaceable family photos were destroyed. They didn’t even offer to waive the month’s rental fee. CubeSmart will clean these water damaged units out and rent them again to other unsuspecting people who might have their stuff destroyed the next time there is heavy rain.

After two months in the storage unit, my monthly payment went up 25%. That's a big hike! I received a notice in the mail the month of the increase that I would be paying $50 more per month. In addition, I went there several times last summer and the hallway to my unit was warm/hot. There was no climate control, which is the reason I stored my things there to begin with. I told the manager about it and she said they were addressing it. But I went 3-4 times between May and July and each time it was hot. Then, when I went to move out my things in October, there was debris everywhere in my unit. I showed this to the manager on duty as I was moving out. The top of my stored items had debris and oxidation all over it. I'm not sure what it was. It was everywhere. It seems that they had been doing duct work right above my unit, which caused a lot of debris, and no one bothered to clean it up or even let me know about it. I was lucky that everything I had there was well wrapped with moving blankets or in boxes. The manager on duty took no accountability even though it was clear that someone had been doing work right above my unit. He said he didn't know what happened and that they would need to look into it. I was not impressed with the customer service both times I had to speak to the management. UPDATE 11/4/22: I sent my account info (as requested in CubeSmart's response below) and photos of my storage unit when I vacated, which was full of debris and dirt, as described in my initial comments. CubeSmart's customer service sent it to the Tuckahoe district manager of that store and told me that I would hear back from the manager shortly. That was 5 days ago. I have still not heard from anyone from management from that store.

Highly advise against renting here, pay the extra money and go to Westy’s across the street. Unit was promised to be climate controlled but the building is boiling hot. When we arrived to move items in, the unit was covered in rodent droppings. I have called numerous times to cancel my rental and get a refund but no one will return my calls. The building itself reeks of horrible chemicals and none of the maps are updated, making it an absolute ordeal to find some of the units. Was also not told that the building I was placed in had an elevator that cannot accommodate large furniture. DO NOT RENT HERE! If I could give them zero stars, I would.

This storage is the best location for me, because it has a 24 hr access to the loading dock Incase shipment is late, I can unload late at night. This storage is awesome because I can drop off my kid at school which is located on the next ave and be at storage within mins. This storage is in a nice , quiet location, not a busy street, a lot of parking, a gas station next door, fill up the tank and get on the main st and head to the parkway, there’s a park, hotel, gym, a brewery, pet day care, church near the facility. Mike was the one who registered my rental but now Jessie and Naja covers the desk. They are cool, polite , kind , friendly staff. They will do their best to accommodate customers interest.

I am existing customer and upgraded to a larger unit and brought my friend who also rented a unit. First I was quoted at $13.00 more than what was posted online. When I showed him he said they must of changed it between when he checked in the morning and the the time I came in. Then when we asked to use the truck, they said it was rented out. We had to go to another storage place in yonkers to rent a uhaul truck for an additional $60.00. We made numerous trips throughout the day there and the truck did not move. I like the convenience, units are clean, but I am very disappointed that they lied about the truck. I live closr and pass by often and have never seen it move from there, so maybe its just for show. Always check the website for pricing, print it out and bring it with you before renting.

I have been dealing with Nelson Oliveria ever since I had my unit and let me assure you it has been nothing but headaches. The only reason I am giving 1 star is because the review can't be posted without giving at least 1 star and believe me, Mr. Oliveria is no shining star. I had been complaining to Mr. Oliveria for almost 2 months from 04/14/18 - 06/02/18 for problems I was having with the electric in my unit. All I had gotten from Mr. Oliveria was one excuse after another and yet I was the only one having this problem throughout the facility. The best solution Mr. Oliveria could come up with was to get a flashlight to access my $500 a month unit. REALLY? How does he expect me to get things off a shelf or off a stack of boxes with one hand? His solution to pacify me for 2 months of headaches was to give me $25 off my bill. I don't see how Mr. Oliveria has received all those good reviews he has gotten. I think that while he is sitting behind that big desk and constantly on his phone, he is writing those reviews himself or paying people to write those good reviews for him. The true HERO at Cubesmart Tuckahoe, NY is Mr. Errol Hamilton. Mr. Hamilton is the one who tries his best at providing customer satisfaction and to keep those customers so that customers will refer Cubesmart to others. He is the one who solves problems with the correct solutions not empty excuses and promises that Mr. Oliveria gives. I really think that Mr. Oliveria should take pointers from Mr. Hamilton, be retrained, be demoted or fired. Cubesmart should rethink as to who they should have representing them in a professional setting and for "The Best Customer Satisfaction" a customer can really receive at Cubesmart, Tuckahoe, NY! It is now November 2018, and Mr. Oliveria is still employed and has the same job - UNBELIEVABLE! Below written 8 months ago: REFER TO MORGAN G'S REVIEW BELOW. I WAS LOOKING FOR A SECOND LARGE UNIT AND NELSON SAID THE ONLY THING HE HAD LEFT WAS A SMALL UNIT OR LOCKERS. THEN, I GO ONLINE AND SEE MANY LARGE UNITS AVAILABLE. WHY IS IT THAT NELSON DIDN'T HAVE ONE? YET, ERROL WAS ABLE TO FIND AND RECOMMEND THE LARGE ONE TO ME THAT I NOW RENT? IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT NELSON OLIVERIA WHO IS THE GENERAL MANAGER OF CUBESMART IN TUCKAHOE IS VERY NASTY WITH CUSTOMERS. HE IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND I HAVE NEVER HAD A GOOD EXPERIENCE WITH HIM IN THE 5 YEARS THAT HE HAS BEEN WITH CUBESMART. I HAVE MADE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS TO CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING BUT ENCOURAGE HIS UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR. HE SHOULD BE TERMINATED! I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY HE IS STILL EMPLOYED. HE HAS COST ME TIME, MONEY AND AGGREVATION BY HIS UNETHICAL, DISHONEST AND DEPLORABLE TREATMENT OF ME. I HAVE WITNESSED HIM TREATING OTHER CUSTOMERS IN THE SAME TERRIBLE MANNER AS I HAVE BEEN TREATED. I AM IN THE PROCESS OF DOCUMENTING MY EXPERIENCES OR LACK THEREOF WITH NELSON OLIVERIA TO CUBESMART CORPORATE.The reason why I am giving 5 stars to this Cubesmart is solely due to Mr. Errol Hamilton, Manger of the CubeSmart location in Tuckahoe, NY who is a pleasure to deal with. He provides a customer experience that well exceeds expectations. Mr. Hamilton is a true gentleman, professional and honest salesman who provides Total Customer Satisfaction! He will find the right storage unit for you. Mr. Errol Hamilton should be made the District Manager for CubeSmart. Make sure to ask for Errol when you want to look for a new unit or get an additional unit at the Tuckahoe, NY location. There were occasions when other members were not in the office when they were supposed to be on duty and made me and other customers wait for hours, never to return at all or to return with a bucket of chicken after more than an hour of waiting for them. Thank YOU Mr. Hamilton for making my experience as a customer with CubeSmart in Tuckahoe for over 10 years FINALLY a very pleasant and professional experience!!! CUBESMART WAKE UP AND GET YOUR HEADS OUT OF THE BOX!! YOU NEED TO MAKE A CHANGE!!! Mr. Errol Hamilton should be commended and promoted, and Mr. Nelson Oliveria should be terminated!!

So far, my experience at this CubeSmart in Tuckahoe has been good. Nelson the manager was very nice and straight forward. Recently got myself a small 5x8 unit. The facility is clean, lit up well (I like the motion sensor lights in the storage unit area hallways), and seems pretty secure. I haven't had any experience personally with other storage facilities so I have nothing to compare it to, but I like this place so far! I was lucky to get the last small unit that they had available. I was a little unhappy about them charging me a little more because it was their last small one. Overall though, good place so far!

Bait and Switch: I have been there less than a year and now they tell me they are raising my rent $12 a month.Meantime, there is no light in my cubicle so I can hardly see to move things in and out. I should have stayed at Westy's.

I did not give it 5 stars because I really don't have experience with other storage facilities, but this one is clean, well lit and has parking. The office & staff are also pleasant to work with and the bathroom is CLEAN ! What more could you ask for.

I've had a great experience with CubeSmart in Tuckahoe--Pablo at the front desk was helpful, knowledgeable, & kind in the stressful transition of moving, & clear about all the contract terms. Someone else at the desk, after a hot stressful day of moving, gave me a bottle of cold water, a completely uncalled-for kindness. The facility's easy to access, clean, & well-organized. Happy to have found it, five stars, me encantó.
