I used this business for my storage needs for nine months. I was going through a rough time and my personal belongings were all I had to my name. There were times when I was late on my payments and the staff here were ALWAYS courteous, understanding, and went above and beyond to make sure I kept a good standing with them. When hurricane Helene hit and we, the residents of WNC had to no power, or water for days, my bill lapsed again. They went OUT OF THEIR WAY to make sure I was able to keep the things in my unit. I never had any issues. They are the sweetest people here and will do everything to keep your things in good condition. This is a very clean storage facility, well laid out, with an excellent and very service-oriented manager. Units are fairly priced. Facility has good-sized freight-type elevators, but needs one that is a larger freight elevator for extra large or tall items. The periodic price increases, which are reasonable, should not be higher than the going market price.

I’ve had this unit for 5+ years. This location has been good for my items (secure and dry). However the business practice at this location I find to be extremely lacking. They conduct random rate changes more than once a year as well as cannot pro rate the unit if you move out of it past 5 days after your payment. I do not recommend.

Bee Safe Storage deserves the highest rating possible and very much due to location,cleanliness,access,safe loading area in back blocked from street view by their building and behind and down in the ravine is the train track. Great lighting too. But this is my 2nd shout out because of their excellant knowledgeable friendly manager Lana Riddle-Davis. She also has such a calming way about her lending that to the stress of moving our beloved belongings. Hey Lana! Hope to see you soon.

My experience was not a good one. I signed the contract not realizing it shifted my move in date by a week. I called and spoke to the manager. She kept saying that she needed to move my “bill date” even though I said over and over that it was “move in date” and not “bill date”. She said she called someone and that I just needed to come in the day of and she’d correct it. I went in the day before to try to resolve in advance. She didn’t know how and called someone. Again, she described it as “bill date” confusing the other person on the phone. When I finally got on the phone with other person, they were able to understand and said they would cancel and reinstate so I could move in the next day. Still not going to receive my refund for original reservation for months. I got sent a new contract with a price that was $100 more a month. I went in the next morning to get in and resolve the issues. No one was there an hour after opening. I had no way to get in while movers sat waiting and me paying them by the hour. After 30 minutes on the phone and multiple transfers, they finally gave me a code and tried to move me in. They said I should reach out again later to the office to get the amount corrected since the manager who was totally confused throughout was the only one who could fix it. Ok, at least I had a code to move. The code didn’t work. They finally gave me another code to get in. I paid an extra $300 for movers due to no one being in the office. After all moved, someone reached out from another office to say they’d help. The other manager was able to correct the amount and said there was an emergency causing no one to be available to open. In the end, I still don’t have my almost $400 payment from the first reservation and it cost me an additional $300 for movers all due to the manager not knowing how to change the move in date. Please educate your managers. She was clueless.

Beware of drastic rent increases! Significant rent hikes in a very short period. Bee Safe should employ full time 24 hour security given the high rent. There were several occasions where sketchy people were hanging out around the building outside of regular business hours and I was not comfortable being there. The advertised "free" moving truck is not free and actually costs more than getting a Uhaul for the day.

I used to work here almost three years ago. I absolutely loved my potential and existing customers. It was really hard for me to put in my two week notice, because I genuinely enjoyed my job here. In my opinion, this is the BEST climate controlled storage facility in all of Asheville. The management company and the owner are absolutely incredible, and they really take care of the facility. The storage units are well taken care of and the facility is secure. Bee Safe builds their facilities from the ground up, rather than purchasing older properties/facilities and renovating them. The management company provides extensive training to their employees so that they are prepared for any situation. This storage facility is worth the price 1000%! You won't be disappointed with the quality of services provided by the staff and the facility itself.

Be warned about rate increases! While the rate at the start of our lease seemed good (they offered a promotional discount) we received an increase, without prior notification, after just 6 months. While I understand over time rates will change, we did not expect one so soon, and its misleading to on one hand offer a discount but then start increasing the base rate less than a year after you take up the lease. I was happy with the service up until now, even though one of the elevators has been out of service for a while, the place is generally kept clean and mostly working. But this price change, and the way it was communicated, has left me frustrated.

I cannot recommend this place enough, The front desk manager (male) is a wonderful 'Human Being' ( I'm disappointed his name currently escapes me) he was patient and kind, he answered every question I had about anything, was responsive and supportive about changes of plans, issues, etc. I once miss placed my keys for my unit and he was able to blow the lock for me with a good bit of effort, and signed paperwork and then for a small fee provide me keys and a new lock. Each unit on the inside is weather proof and temperate controlled, the doors are well kept and flat bed dollies are provided by the company. In addition they also have Wine cellar storage! It's literally one of the greatest customer services I've experienced in ages. They even offer a mid sized moving van available for renting for around town movements (in and out of unit), the unit fees are reasonable and if you pay attention there are often discounts online for renting!! If I ever need a unit again, I will be renting here 100%.

It’s been nice to be a regular customer for awhile. Just got a notice for a rate increase of over 27%. 10 x 10 unit First invoice: 1/9/21 - $153 8/9/21 - $181 (18.3% increase) 6/9/22 - $230 (27.8% increase) 50.3% increase over 17 months / 2.96% increase MONTHLY, which is 35.5% annual escalation. Not a bad return for the investor. I'm in the wrong business! The truck is free moving in, but it’s a significant charge using it to move out. As Billy Joel says, “ I’m moving out!” ????

The staff at the Asheville location is very personable and friendy, especially Allen. He made it very easy to communicate with them and was always on top of payments, etc. The hours of access were good and we had no problems getting in. Even when I had a faulty door code to get in the building; called customer service and they were able to give me a temporary code. Only reason I am not giving a 10 is because cubesmart tends to raise rates after a few months. Wish they would provide more long term pricing with no rate changes. Will definitely use again!

Pros: The staff are friendly and helpful. The storage units are clean and carts are always in the proper locations. Elevators are spacious. Cons: If you cancel your storage unit early, there are NO refunds. Make sure to close out as close to your end date as possible! Also, some of the hallways are a bit tight making turns with carts.

I highly recommend Bee Safe Storage. I have been a customer with Bee Safe since it opened. The management is kind and is always very helpful. The prices for all of the units are very good. This facility is very well maintained and is immaculate. If I could give Bee Safe Storage more than a 5 star rating, I would.

We used a self packing moving company to move from Massachusetts to Asheville, North Carolina. It was a very complex move from a house we owned in Massachusetts to an apartment in Asheville. Therefore, we had half of our stuff going into storage with the other half going to our apartment. Bee Safe Storage was very accommodating in helping us select the right size climate storage locker, providing us with after hours access as well as finding a convenient place for the Moving Company to drop their 28 ft. trailer while I arranged for a local mover to unload into our Bee Safe storage locker and ultimately into our new apartment. Bee Safe Storage was extremely helpful and accommodating throughout the entire process!

Have been storing items at Bee Safe since May of this year. The unit is great, fits all of our belongings as we transition in living arrangements. Steve has been a great help, always friendly, upbeat and helpful, a stand up guy. Thanks.

Great experience here! We have rented a space to store some things temporarily.The place is super clean, very practical, well secured and the people working here go out of their way to help. Highly recommend it for short and longterm storage.

Thought this place was great. But after Steve telling me that my dogs wouldn't be an issue, they ended up giving me a highlighted paper with rules about animals not being allowed to come in the building. Also when you rent a storage unit, you are supposed to pay for the dumpster if you use it. Once again, Steve telling me I could use it only to have that rule highlighted on the same paper. But he allows two others to cram it full of junk where you can't even close the lid on the dumpster. He allows these people to stay in the parking lot in a camper using the power from BeeSafe. Which is a lease violation according to the "Rules and Regulations" paper he gave me. Folks if you think this place is nice, just give it time. The new guy who works with Steve is the worst pick they could have hired. He has no customer skills skills and really doesn't know how to speak to people. There has been someone sleeping in his unit.. I basically was forced out of my unit on 2nd floor because I didn't fit in with the snobby Biltmore Estate trash that needed my unit. So I was put on the 3rd floor in the corner, so "none would see me". According to this great manager Steve !.. Dont be fooled. He's not who you meet when you 1st come. I give this place a thumbs down. And fyi.. your belongings are NOT safe here. I have witnessed people here all night long inside the building. Also have pics of this . Funny the doors lock at 10pm but they are in there walking out before doors open at 6 am. I plan to file complaints and also see what else I can do after being treated very unfair. !!!

Great face to face customer service. HOWEVER! The unit I reserved was not a true 5x7 due to support beams taking away 4-6 inches on eather side. Turning a 20 minute job into 2 hours a real life Tetris. And only ending because i chose to sell off items that would not fit...
