So the application and paying and receiving the information about my cube storage was smooth did everything online did not have to go in in person the only thing I recommend is making sure to read the letter in front of your number of the storage building I was seeing it as 06 when it was indeed 06 so the letter o then the number six and on the end of the buildings they have the numbers and that's where you're going to find your letter and then your number so that is a bit confusing but other than that everything went smoothly also I would really like for somebody to be there on the property when I try to go into the office it was closed temporarily it had a number to call but of course it was the automated line so just having somebody there to actually assist us would be kind of nice

Sign up online was so easy! I actually did it while on the way to the unit. The on-site manager was very friendly and super helpful. The unit was ready for use with no issues. I feel like security is on point. It’s perfect for my needs.

This is the worst store in North Carolina. They don’t answer the phone, email, will not help in any way. The manager lets these people do whatever as customers are signing release forms on there items but still getting charged for the storage unit. This is illegal!

If I could give ZERO stars I would. The Belmont office botched our paperwork and we had to be escalated going all the way back to November 2023. We have been waiting on a callback from the district manager Kent since July 11 and now we are waiting for the divisional vice president Jim to call us back and still no reply. I’m not sure what kind of business Cube Smart is running and what kind of customer service they think they have, but it is some of the worst that I’ve dealt with in working retail.

After what appears to have been 2 break-ins in my unit and a recent $40/month rate increase I chose to empty my storage unit at Cubesmart. After the first break-in, I was contacted by the store manager to inform me that my unit had been broken into. I was told they would “look into it”. The door on the unit was left closed, but the lock was missing. I was given a new lock and key to secure the door. I Never heard anymore about it. A second break-in was discovered when I went to start removing my belongings from the unit. This time the lock was in place and locked, but more boxes were missing. No one knew or saw anything. Again, I was told by a different employer they would look into it. Again, no follow-up. Customer service is good when making payments in person. My advice to anyone interested in storing at Cubesmart is check on your unit frequently to avoid any surprises when you visit your unit.

I want everyone to know that the Belmont location is a ROACH MOTEL. I had some nice things in that location. When I went to get it it was infested with ROACHES. I MEAN INFESTED. I left it all there. Going to let them deal with them. If you got stuff there you should get it out NOW. Don't take it to your home. Your home will become INFESTED with ROACHES AS WELL

They went up on my rent, not even six months after I moved my things in, and I'm going on two years, and they've gone up again. Great choice for storage! The office staff are super friendly, the location is clean and well maintained. Accessing the facility is very easy and navigating throughout the lot is easy as well. Latoya is a professional with a great work ethic. The door was locked with a little clock sign saying back at 2:20. Latoya returned at 2:15 with trash she had pick up around the property. She immediately greeted me in a friendly manner, and welcomed me inside to discuss my needs. After showing me one unit I requested to see another larger climate controlled unit. Latoya had her notes with her prepared for my change up, and took me to an available unit without going back to the office. The property is clean, and the key pad and gate work fine for me. The units are clean and the unit doors open and close smoothly. Come with a lock if you are renting same day. They require a lock within 24 hours of renting the unit. Which they provide for around $15. (Boooo!) Also, if it matters to you, 24 access to your unit is $15 more...not sure why. The gate is automated, and I never heard anything about night security. So far its 3 stars. We will see how it goes after a few months.

Never in my life have I ever had a $30 increase at one time. I thought Public Storage was bad. No, this place is a rip off. Keep looking and find your storage space elsewhere. Not secure with a gate that is open 80% of the time, and I pay $215 a month for a 10x20 area. It went up this year from $185. The staff is nice and friendly, but let’s be honest, I never see them, unless it’s to ask why their gate isn’t working (for security reasons) again. And then I can never get a reasonable answer. For the money they charge people, they should be able to get a whole new updated gate system.

I feel like I got a reasonable price for the amount of space I'm renting and Latoya was very friendly and super helpful. The lock that I purchased with the unit is very good quality, so I was happy about that. I'm also very glad to have auto-pay, so I don't have to stop into the office to pay rent. My only complaint so far is that my unit isn't level with the ground and I wasn't advised of that. Since I have old injuries I'll have to get a step ladder to get in and out of the unit. Not a huge deal though, so overall I'm happy.

I give this place 2 stars for the people that work there, they are fabulous.. The storage company itself, I won't use again. I opted for climate control to keep priceless family photos safe...check into that. Climate controlled means in the high 80s, maybe. And I just picked up items and found a live cockroach and rodent droppings amongst my books. Not what I expect for almost $140 a month. I will be out before the end of the month.

So far so good. Staff was excellent in assisting us in getting set up and moved in. I like that the area around the units is paved. I've absolutely no worries about the potential for water damage at this location. Overall, very pleased with our choice. As nothing is perfect, I wasn't aware of state-mandated insurance before arriving there. That information should be disclosed on the web site for those locations that require it. If it is there, it's not prominent or I missed it. Noting some other reviews, I won't be very amenable to arbitrary rate increases.

This is outdoor storage units & vehicle storage from what I could see. It has a gated entry & exit controlled with a code. The grounds are paved & some units have a raised step into the them so items must be lifted up to place in unit. I would like to think being raised will keep units dry in heavy rain. Since I haven't used the storage for any length of time I can't say how good the ventilation is. But placing products to absorb excess moisture in the units is always a good idea. I found the staff very friendly & helpful too.

*Note* My original rating did not have a review ... I'm responding to CubeSmarts reply to my 3 star rating. I believe that I have been a loyal customer for 2+ ... maybe 3 years up to this point. I really appreciate CubeSmart noticing my 3 star rating ... Details: Staff has always been friendly and helpful ... storage unit and area is generally clean and has done a good job protecting my things from the weather and theft. Flip side - for at least half of my time there the bathrooms were locked out when I would go to use them (I think they are open now - not sure), there was a period of time last year where I could not access my stuff (security gate) due to some software/technical issue (it was fixed/reset), the security gate has not been functioning for many months and I am slightly annoyed that long term renters are unable to negotiate the rent to a lower level (rent has increased multiple times). Frankly - the value of the storage unit - 'for me' - does not match up to what I am now paying in rent, so I am considering closing my account. For everyone out there... this is a decent place, but expect rent increases (which is normal for these kinds of places) ... I was frustrated with the bathroom situation ... and annoyed that it has taken so long to get the security gate fixed. Rent negotiation has no impact on my rating - that 'is what it is.' Hence 3 stars = Good, not great (4 stars), not excellent (5 stars) ... not bad (2 stars).

If I could give this place negative stars I would. DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR BUSINESS! I signed up for a space for $120 a month which is Very expensive in the first place for Gaston county. In less than a year my monthly payment has somehow gone up to $160 a month with ZERO explanation. 40 DOLLARS IN LESS THAN A YEAR???

She has great customer service and attitude.. i will definitly tell my family and friends to store here.. i also feel like this is a very safe environment night or day...

The day I went in to rent my unit the business hours were 9;30 to 6:00. I arrived at 5:45. I made an online reservation for the next day but told the person on the phone that confirmed my online request that I would be in at end of the day (same day) or the following day to finalize. The online special was $65. When I arrived at 5:45 the same day, the staff immediately said that my reservation was not for that day but for the following. Not sure why it mattered that I came in the evening before, but Ok. I was then promptly asked to return the NEXT day since it was so close to closing!!! I can't believe I was asked to leave and come back the next day. If I had been told on the phone that "last contracts are written at "xxx" time, I would have planned around that . I had rushed there after work to get there by closing so imagine my frustration at being asked to return at another time. I should have just left at that point and rented elsewhere. After the 2 employees agreed to go ahead and do the rental agreement, the manager made of point of telling me that in the future not to come in just before closing to rent a unit. Hmmm....that was the 2nd clue that I should have just stopped the process and walked out. As I was completing the contract, I was surprised to find a $25 admin fee added to my contract in addition to mandatory minimum insurance of $12 per month. When I said that I had homeowners insurance and didn't theirs, I was told that if I brought in my policy the next day, the $12 would be removed. So....the very next day I returned with a copy of my policy, but only FUTURE payments of $12 were removed...NOT the $12 that I had paid the evening before. I was told that the 1st month could not be waived because I did not have my insurance policy with me at the time of contract. Tell me this....who carries around a copy of their homeowner's insurance? And I took it in the NEXT day as they advised I should do. Overall, this whole process has been horrible. If I could get a full refund of the $117....which by the way I had to pay $15 for one of CUBESMARTS locks b/c my standard size lock doesn't fit their doors (go figure)... I would definitely do so. I called the company customer service 24 hours to speak to a manager and was told a district manager would return my call but I have yet to get that call back.

At first I was happy and making great money selling my pallets from here.until the manager and an employee let someoneone plus themselves go into my storage and steal almost all my inventory when I was out of town.i now have a pending lawsuit against them.the manager tried to add a person onto my account to have access to my unit and uh oh. She got busted.never again will I step foot on cubesmart property.i lost 5,000.00 inventory and was almost homeless and I have 2 kids to support.what goes around comes around.i hope ur haunted at night for what you did.u deserve to get fired and I hope u never have a chance to hurt anyone else in the future because u are careless and don't follow ur job guidelines

I've only been a customer for about 2-3 months but they are very nice, super helpful people and the amenities are all you could want for a storage unit. I feel really comfortable (safe) that they have cameras everywhere and are always driving around on the golf cart checking everything. The manager there (Kitty) is always a pleasure!

Moving from LA to NC was very stressful! Tying to coordinate movers, jobs, storage. I had to change my reservation 3 times with cubesmart. Everytime Karen was extremely helpful and accomidatin. The customer service and ownership policy at this facility is more than unenjoyable to work with. The code assigned to my account only allows me into the facility half the time yet because I am not the primary on the account they are unable to assist me to my unit and belongings the times it doesn't work. I am cancelling our membership and going elsewhere. The company takes no responsibility for their faulty gate or system.

Stopped in as I was driving by and was provided expert service. Karen was a friendly face, answered all my questions and then rented me a space that immediately available... even swept it out before I started moving things. Since the original unit was really to big for my needs, she placed me on the waiting list for something smaller and called the next day with one (it was climate controlled, which I did not need). Overall, I was impressed by CubeSmart and hope to get into the smaller unit as soon as possible. My only qualm was the price and some fees that are tacked in.

We rented 2 units and used there truck. We were charged 3 seperate administration fees at 20 each. Too many fees here. Stay away from this company!!!!!

This is a great storage place. I'm storing a vehicle, which is a problem as they're on a hill and most units have a lip that prevents pulling a car in, but the manager worked with me and found one that was appropriate. No complaints at all.

Glad I found this storage facility. After checking another company's storage, I found that our cube was not climate controlled as advertised online and on the front of their building. Only upon my husband's inspection and question did they say this. Cube Smart is clean, secure, and though not climate-controlled, is high above any possible water line. And, it is less expensive that the previous place I checked.

The facility was clean and organized. Samantha was wonderful! She had an answer to every question. I watched her juggle several customers at a time with ease and friendliness. I don't know how she does it, but she was cheerful, helpful and able to prioritize well. She definitely is an asset to your company. Give her a big raise!!!

This is my third time utilizing a storage unit at CubeSmart which was U-Store-It the first time I used it. The service is exemplary every single time, the units are clean and ready when I move in, and should I ever need storage service again after this time, I will definitely choose this location even if I have to drive a distance to do so.
