AUCTION BUYERS BEWARE! I have given this Raleigh location CubeSmart #6029 plenty of times to make things right, but they refuse to accept responsibility for their un-ethical auction practices. After bidding on a unit that was previously up for auction, paid for then vacated and put up for auction again, I finally won the auction. After this unit was paid for the first time, it was put up immediately as a managers special once it was vacated with a much cleaner look, but don't let their photos deceive you! After going to clean out the unit, EVERY box that was in there was EMPTY. Every. Box. After speaking with their district manager and being told their employees don't go into units, I dug a little deeper with previous photos I've saved of their auctions and found out several of their pictures taken couldn't have been done without entering the unit. They even have photos of them lifting box lids to 'peek' inside them and take a photo. It was obvious this particular unit was staged with empty boxes and they were trying to capitalize on the popularity of the previous auction before it was vacated. So they did the most un-ethical thing they knew and put it back up with every empty boxes left behind to make it look more appealing. If they were to discard the boxes, which what they were suppose to do before putting the unit back up for auction, the unit would've looked almost empty. I'm just warning future auction bidders to avoid this location and possibly several other local facilities tied to this district as they definitely don't go by any code of ethics CubeSmart puts out there and are just looking out for their bottom dollar. AUCTION BUYERS BEWARE!

The folks who work here are exceptional. The facility itself is well maintained and clean. Everything is brightly lit even within the units. Elevators always work. The bathroom can be a little grungy so make sure you go before you stop here. There's also four hand carts available for you to move items into the facility. After doing some penny pinching research to find the best cost per foot (with climate control) this is the one. I definitely recommend this place. I'm so sorry to the front desk folks because I'm blanking on y'all's names but I will edit this review once i stop by.

Staff was always friendly. Facility was always Clean & Air Conditioned. The extended access after hours were very reasonable. I know the following is a business practice for storage units as a whole but I wasn’t a fan of the continual price increases during my length of stay (4 years). This is my only negative feedback. Other than that everything was perfect.

This is top-notch location. Wonderful team with Melissa and John. Both are tenured and very customer-service oriented. Couldn't ask for a better group in all matters. Great location, friendly staff, and clean, well lit unit. Our only concern thus far is the scarcity of carts. When we went the first time, there were only 3 other people there. One did have 2 carts, but the other person only had 1 and there were no other carts to be found. The lone guy eventually gave us his cart. Otherwise, we wouldn't have had one! Hoping people aren't hoarding carts in their units for use when they come! Great experience other than that!

The facility is clean and well-maintained. The staff are friendly and helpful. Lighting and climate control are good. It feels reasonably safe to access your unit, especially during the day when the office is open. Watch for price hikes. You will be given clear notice, but they can be fairly steep. If you get in on a special and need temporary storage, be sure to watch your timeline. Otherwise, it was a very positive storage experience.

Edit: Melissa was not so great. She was helpdul at first but when we needed another unit she was not friendly or helpful. We had to book and pay online to bypass her attempt to overcharge us. Her exhibited behavior is the type that drives customers away....Because of John and only because of him...I am giving 3 stars...his service, kindness, and hospitality was unwavering. If we need more than 1 month of storage we will be finding a new company...purely because of Melissa. Original review: John was considerably friendly and helpful. He has stellar customer service skills and we appreciate how diligent he was in trying to help us despite fighting through system issues. He exceeded our expectations. On top of that, we got a great deal for our climate controlled storage. Use cube smart!

I've been there for two years and I need to stay for more years. But every year they increase the monthly payment. In two more years I will be paying double than when I started. Time to vacate. Unfortunately, I had a parent who was hospitalized in ICU due to covid-19 for a month. I communicated with this facility to let them know what was going on and that due to me being the caregiver for my parent upon discharge, my storage would be late. To make a long story short, when communicating with this facility, get/put everything in writing. When it came time to fulfill the agreement,, the terms changed. Now, I guess they'll attempt to take all of my possessions. I've been there 3 years....too long. Ample storage is a great facility with much better management and customer service and it'sdown the street from this location. If some miracle arises and they don't auction my whole life away, that is where I will take my business.

location is bad on a steep hill, Parking NOT good. Customer service representative was very aggressive with her approach to logistics of social distancing. Signage was clear. We came in with mask and were very clear as to how to function after all we've collectively have been doing this song and dance for 0ver 9 months. but she still felt the need to dictate every single move. Very dictative and controlling. Did NOT rent from that location Went to Public Storage instead.

The attendant who was there was awesome! The entire building including the halls, units and doors were all immaculate. They also had large carts ready for you to use. I have used Public Storage before, and this is 1000% better. Public Storage was dirty, bugs, leaks, and terrible support. They up your storage rates often, knowing you won't come move your stuff! SO glad I made the switch!!!

I thought it was a great deal because the first month was free. Booked online. Online and in the confirmation email it explained there was a $24 admin fee due at move in. That was not mentioned in the initial rates online, but ok. (so the first month wasn't entirely free) The email confirmation literally said "what to expect at move in" with the $24. and online it said "this is all you will pay" $24. Still thought it was a good deal. But then I arrived and they also wanted another $29 or more for a lock. REALLY? I brought my own, but no go. I've also rented at places where as long as you turn the locks in when you move out you're not charged. The total she was now quoting me was $50 something, I can't even remember the amount b/c I was so irritated. I don't like companies that pull tricks to get customers. I'll go somewhere that's upfront and honest.

Gloria was ready to assist us as we arrived, to tell her we expected to have 4 truck loads of our sister’s apt. contents due to her beginning treatments and not able to stay in her apt. Gloria was so kind and helpful, just asking questions about the volume and amount of items on the way, saying sufficient storage is a critical decision to having effective and safe access by family members later in the process. My wife and I recently relocated from Northern Virginia to Raleigh, NC. Despite our efforts to downsize we still required off site storage for what we could not fit in to our rental house. I selected CubeSmart Self Storage at 7901 Glenwood Ave. When I arrived with the first truck, which was partial house and partial storage, the first person I met from CubeSmart was Gloria, the General Manager. She was friendly, warm and very helpful in finalizing my contract and showing me the unit that was available. I have since made several more trips back and forth from Northern VA. Each time Gloria was there and offered her assistance with anything I needed including helping me offload a bulky piece of furniture from the cart in to my storage unit. Gloria has helped make what has been a stressful and grueling move easier with her servant's heart. CubeSmart - you are lucky to have Gloria as one of your employees. She is great!

Edward and Gloria were absolutely fabulous; both handled all of my questions and needs in a timely manner. Edward even offered to provide his personal cell # in the event of a possible off hour issue. Fortunately, we were able to get all of our personal contents loaded into the space within normal business hours and there was no need to contact Edward. The fact he was willing to provide his cell # was a deal winner for me. Great People!

If you're thinking about changing storage companies, you can't do better than choosing Cube Smart. I just moved into the Glenwood Ave location. The difference between Cube Smart and my old storage unit is like night and day. This place has the friendliest people you’ll find anywhere. I don’t know anyone who likes moving boxes (including me), but Gloria (the manager) makes it as smooth and painless as possible. The whole process was quick and easy. The paperwork went fast, the tour and choices were easy, she offered me a soda or bottled water, and she even helped me move in, by holding the 4 wheel dolly so it wouldn’t move while I unloaded the truck. With all the other amenities this place has, I don’t plan on moving again.

I had a great experience at the new CubeSmart off of Glenwood Avenue. Gloria and Edward were both very helpful getting me set up with a storage place while I’m in between moves. First, it was easy to reserve a storage unit through their website. When I visited the storage facility in person to pick up the keys, Edward worked with me to switch my reserved unit to a more convenient unit located closer to the elevator (and at no additional cost). Both Gloria and Edward were friendly and fun to work with, and I felt like they were looking out for me to get me the best deal and the most convenient unit. On moving day, Edward even offered me and my family/friends water while we were loading up the storage unit. A few other things I liked about this facility: -The layout of the facility provides easy access for moving your belongings. The front of the facility has large automatic sliding glass doors. -There are carts available for moving your belongings. -The units are climate controlled. -At the time I reserved my unit, they were running a special where the 1st month was free. Thanks Gloria and Edward for taking some of the stress off of my move and for providing great customer service!

The place has a key code lock system so you can get in any time. The place is clean and air conditioning. The staff were very nice and offered us water because it was hot that day. The parking lot is not level so the carts will roll away if it's not secured somehow.

I would like to thank Gloria and Edward for providing outstanding customer service. Moving can be a very frustrating experience especially if you are moving from another state. CubeSmart was not my 1st choice for a storage facility. I allowed television commercials to sway me to another storage company prior to contacting Gloria at CubeSmart. When you are moving from another state, you cannot just go visit the storage unit in the state in which you are moving. Sometimes you will have to make phone calls to help setup delivery to the out of state storage unit that you will be using. Lucky for me, I was able to view the storage unit that I first selected prior to my furniture arriving at the storage unit. The unit did not represent the commercial that I saw on television. The unit was dirty and it was not the type of place that I would want to store my furniture. I cancelled the agreement with that storage company which cost me money. I found CubeSmart through an internet search. I went to the CubeSmart storage location and met the manager Gloria. I found Gloria to be extremely helpful. If I had not talked with Gloria, I would have rented the wrong size storage unit. I was renting the storage unit based on what I was previously told that I needed because of the weight of my furniture on the moving truck. Gloria told me that I needed to double the size of the unit. When my furniture arrived, and was placed into the 2 units that Gloria recommended, I was so glad that I took Gloria’s advice. Not only did Gloria help with making sure I had the right size storage, she gave me some helpful hints that will make moving easier. She helped eliminate a lot of the stress around the actual move. CubeSmart is very fortunate to have a team member like Gloria working for the company.

We stopped by when while we were searching for a storage facility. We were so impressed with Cube Smart and especially this location, that we stopped looking! We selected this location for a few reasons. First, the Cube Smart employees. Gloria and Edward are very personable, knowledgeable, and helpful. Secondly, the facility itself. It's spotless and offers multiple sizes and configurations of storage bays. Thirdly, the facility is very secure. Lastly, the location is very accessible and convenient. There are facilities that cost less, but the prices at Cube Smart are competitive. Based on the positive items I noted, we selected Cube Smart as the best value for the money.
