In a sea of storage facility options, CubeSmart in Sunset Beach is THE BEST choice. We were relocating to this area and this one happened to be right next to our development so not only was it extremely convenient for us but our experiences here far exceeded our expectations. The staff was always available if we needed them, always very friendly and helpful, and the price was very reasonable. We found the building, the storage units, and the bathrooms VERY clean and they always had several large, flat bed dolly’s available for use right by the doors. HUGE plus. We rarely ran into heavy traffic times and accessing our unit at any time, day or night, was always easy with the app. This is a wonderful storage facility. We highly recommend it.

Rented from here for 5 months - excellent team of workers - Bob and Kim were great when we needed storage and when we were checking out. Bob even saved us as our lock got "stuck" in the door and he helped get the lock out and fixed the issue. Great employees and great experience. Clean facility - storage area and the bathroom... Pleasure doing business with you.

I’m not a fan of needing storage so haven’t used a lot of different companies. When it’s necessary, I want easy, quick rental with minimal hassle. I want access hours that are reasonable, and I want a good price point. CubeSmart hits all the checks. Rental and set up can all be done online if needed. Access is until 10pm and as the guy rented to me put it, “nothing good ever happens at these places after 10” which made me chuckle. They have an app to get in and out without putting in a code every time if desired. The price is more than reasonable. They require you buy a lock from them because only their locks fit, there’s a $29 administrative fee, And you can bring your own insurance or purchase it from them. Little things that I am sure keep the monthly cost down, which I’m OK with. They have a single access point to all the storage units so security is great. All unit units are climate controlled. Customer service was top-notch. I’ve only had it for a few days but so far so good if anything changes I’ll update my review. I highly recommend

Over 200 a month and I'm sweating in 80°, I can't even stand to be inside my unit longer than 10 minutes... and no trashcan?? I just needed to throw away a single piece of trash but they literally have a padlock on the big trashcan and not a single trashcan available for customer use in the facility?! For the OUTRAGEOUS price of this place it should be a LOT more hospitable. Please I'm begging, just an extra 5 degrees, we are at the beach!

This started out as an awesome place to store my stuff. It was so easy to get the unit all online without having any issues. That was the good part. That's it. They didn't send any information on HOW to use the door, the lock, the unit, etc. I had to go in to find out how to even use the thing. It's different than most storage facilities. I went in and was trained and had amazing conversation about everything under the sun with the gal who is there most of the time. It was a good time had by all. Then I didn't need the unit anymore because I was moving and could take the items with me to the new house. I had an upcoming payment due also so I wanted to end the service prior to that payment but it was a Friday and they weren't open during regular business hours. Then on Saturday they weren't open during regular business hours so I was faced with a conundrum... What to do? So I went in and got all of my things out. I took the keys to the lock and clipped them to the unit and left. I was told by the staff when I was there that day for the very long discussion that they check the units every single day to validate use etc. So I felt that they would see that all was cleaned out etc. But that's a lie. Several days later I get a voicemail from the gal and I talk to her on the phone and she says she tried to zap my card for payment and it was rejected. I explained to her EVERYTHING. She is not customer friendly. Not anymore apparently. So I go in to the unit and remove the key which is still sitting there in the lock and go to the office to discuss with her. She has suddenly no idea who I am and doesn't even remember I exist even though we spoke freely about our children and their school and my car etc etc. Now I hand her the keys and she says she can't accept them back until I pay for the unit except why would I pay for the unit when I don't need it anymore? I attempted to close my unit prior to the next month of use and it's not my fault they weren't open. I tried twice to go in and close it prior to the next bill. She argues with me. Seriously. She says she can't accept the return of the keys or unit until I pay. Well I was negative in the bank and couldn't pay it even if I wanted to. So I left with the keys. All my stuff out. Super clean open unit. Zero customer service, argumentative yucky crap from lady and now crap against my credit rating because of their stupidity. Reminder that common sense isn't common and I will never do business with them again. And someday when I have a job again and I'm not swimming in debt and my own personal hell, I'll pay that bill that could've been avoided if they did what they promised and checked the units every single day as stated from day one.

The young lady at the reception desk was very professional and knowledgeable about the product. She walked me through the unit, showed me how the barrel lock and door works and watched while I downloaded the CubeSmart App and walked me through setting up my account. The facility was extremely clean and temperature controlled. I highly recommend this new location in Calabash.
