Originally chose not to rent a unit bc CubeSmart was requiring purchase of insurance. After hanging up, local manager (Leah) called me with a solution to use an existing renter’s insurance policy to meet the requirement for CubeSmart. She was trained well on how to overcome the problem, reached out quickly to offer the solution, and was ready to execute the contract when I showed up at the location. Couldn’t ask for more than that!

On wit street in Winston Salem, you will get mold on your furniture and it’s supposed to be a climate controlled building. And they will jack up your rental rate without notification. Do not go here! They don’t care about your storage items. They just want your money. Don’t be fooled by the fake smiles and “the oh I’m sorry to hear that” responses they will come back with and all the other politics that come with this place. This place is one of the worst. This is a true warning! Stay away from this facility if you care about your items you are storing!!! 0 stars! Don’t believe me? Just look at the other 1 star reviews.

I had a wonderful experience using this Cube Smart to store my stuff for the past year. The employee was extremely helpful. Had no issues or damage to any of our things in the climate controlled unit. My biggest fear was bugs, and there was absolutely no issues with that. During the move out process, we were shown the back loading dock, which made things 100% easier to get onto our 26-footer moving truck. The employee also handed us bottles of cold water as it was a very hot day. Excellent customer service overall. Easy communication over the phone for the checkout process. Would highly recommend.

Paid for a indoor unit to insure my belongings would remain in good condition. After four years and $5000 dollars later all my belongings where covered in mold. When I spoke to the lady at the front office she said could not help because I didn’t pay for insurance. Most of belongings where ruined and fell like I got robbed!!

Update on my previous review: Getting a storage unit was very easy and the staff was very very helpful during that time. However, when I went back to get my stuff I found it to be covered in rodent/pest feces (see pics). Dead bugs were everywhere. The feces permanently damaged some of my items. I also paid for the insurance they offer which does not cover this type of damage lol. The staff was told and informed me that they hired many exterminators, which is nice but the damage was too late. They offered no compensation or apology for my damaged belongings. If you pay for your stuff to be safe and secure in an indoor facility,it should be. More preventative measures obviously need to be taken to protect clients’ belongings.

We had to put a house full of stuff into storage, not knowing how much space we needed, we started with a 10 x 15 when the movers showed up that quickly filled up. Not to worry Katie worked to find a 10 x10 close by and problem solved. No matter what your storage situation I would call Katie at Cube Smart to help out.

Excellent customer service, convenient location (it's literally a stronesthrow distance away from where I live) and the pricing isn't bad for the size of the unit I'm in! The loading dock makes it so easy to get everything in and out in a timely and easy manner. It's also very safe and I'm able to load and unload behind a safety gate that opens and closes to prevent anyone from approaching me. They also offer 24-hour access for $15 per month which is essential for the type of business I do with them. Jo and Katie were more than helpful and welcoming when I transferred everything from Bee Safe Storage on Broad to here a week ago and everything's been great already! I'd highly recommend CubeSmart over Bee Safe or Public Storage especially with the location!!

The staff was very helpful in letting me know about the facility before I got a unit and even more helpful when I was moving out of my unit. I decided to use a pod/relo cube in order to move my things and Jo was super-helpful throughout the process, she checked with the manager and was able to let me know where the pod/cube could be parked for a few days and made sure it was as close as possible to one of the entries for the move.

I would highly recommend CubeSmart. The rental process was very easy! The agent answered all my questions and set me up with the appropriate storage unit I needed. The storage facility is immaculate! While moving stuff into storage, Joan, checked in with us to see if we needed anything and also clarified how to lock up the unit. It was great that they had multiple carts we could use to transfer items from the Uhaul to the unit. They have a spotless bathroom inside the storage area! I was very happy with the whole rental process and feel very comfortable with my belongings in their storage unit. The only thing I didn’t know about was that they have a moving truck you can use for free. I was only moving locally so this would have saved me about $80. Ask about the free use of their truck being an option.

You can probably obtain cheaper storage space in Winston-Salem, but you'll be hard pressed to find a better operated, clean, and secure storage space. I have been very impressed with the professionalism and helpfulness of the staff, particularly Katie. We recently moved from Illinois to Winston-Salem and selected Cube Smart for our storage needs based on the reviews here. I have to tell you that they did not disappoint. From the very beginning, Jo the manager at this location was simply awesome! She could not have been any nicer and so helpful with the entire process. She maintains a super clean facility and is a pleasure to deal with. Even the day we were moving in, it was very warm and she brought us some cold bottles of water right to our unit. We ended up needing a second unit and Jo went right to work to find one close to our main unit that was just the size we needed. I told Katie the general manager that we had a great experience as customers at this facility and Jo was 90% of the reason. The other 10% is the company itself and it's high standards and training provided to all of it's associates in delivering outstanding service and great facilities. We give this location the highest recommendation! Five Stars!

This is an excellent storage unit. A friend and I stored our belongings here for 3 months over the summer. The prices were great (we also had a first free month promotion) and the truck rental was easy and cheap as well. The units are very nice, temperature controlled and everything was as it was when we returned. But what impressed me the most was the manager, Katie. She was so friendly every time we went in or had questions, and went above and beyond to help us out. I will recommend this facility to everyone I can! 10/10.

Katie Humphries was the most amazing person to work with. She stayed after hours to make sure that everything during our move in went smoothly. The nicest employee I have ever had an interaction with. I hope to continue storing here for years to come.

I was about to rent a storage unit at another facility, but saw so many issues with the place that I couldn't imagine leaving my stuff there. I went to CubeSmart and I'm very glad I did. It was easy to get to the unit and they were very clean! Katie was extremely friendly and helpful. I also liked that I could set my own pin number so I don't have to look it up every time I need to go by there. This place is MUCH better than the alternatives in the area!!

I'm storing my 25 ft camper van at cube smart. The price is the best in town and the customer service is amazing! I was in a hurry when signing the contract and the manager Katie was extremely professional, courteous and accommodated my rushed schedule by being very speedy! I would highly recommend this location for your storage needs and know that you are working with very high quality people!

I work right by the Cube Smart facility off Witt Street. When they completed the facility, I admired how nice and clean it looked. Once I found out I needed to rent a storage unit, they were immediately the people I wanted to rent with. Daniel was so helpful and professional and worked with me when I changed up my moving day on him a few times. It was so easy and love the convenience and the access hours. Not to mention, getting the first month free and 15% off for 6 months was a huge plus!! Definitely recommend.

Katie and Daniel were outstanding! We ended up needing an extra unit and they were excellent with meeting our needs. The facility is NEW, clean, free of water leaks/pests, and SECURE! The loading dock, multiple ramps, and large entry/exit doors made the physical move so much easier. I highly recommend this storage facility!

CubeSmart staff Katie and Daniel are courteous, knowledgeable, and, most of all, HELPFUL! They go out of their way to be kind and detailed to explain their rental policy and show you available units. The facility is brand new, clean, secure, and easily accessible for moving your goods in and out. (They have wheeled platform carts/dollies you can use and auto door entrance openings.) Highly recommend this particular CubeSmart! 5 stars doesn't begin to explain my satisfaction with this business and staff.

Without exaggeration I would say that getting into our unit at CubeSmart was the best/easiest part of our cross-country move to Winston-Salem. The facility is impeccable, still clean and tidy since it's brand new. Signup was a breeze, and Daniel and Katie are wonderful to work with. I'm sure there are other good facilities around, but I couldn't imagine anyone beating the pleasant experience, cleanliness, or central location.
