If you store your stuff here it may well be destroyed. I rented Unit 1132 at CubeSmart’s Canton, OH location from Feb 2024–July 2025 under the promise it was climate controlled. When I moved out on July 8, 2025, the facility was hot and humid, and severe mold contamination had destroyed roughly 80% of my belongings — including wood furniture, family heirlooms, photo albums, and personal documents. Three professional movers witnessed the damage and described the mold as “worse than they had ever seen.” The on-site manager admitted he had reported ongoing water and humidity problems to corporate, but nothing was fixed. Moisture was so extreme that even sealed plastic bins had condensation on the outside. I took over 50 photos documenting the damage. The district manager initially agreed to meet me to review the conditions but stopped responding to all calls, emails, and texts. A formal letter to CubeSmart’s headquarters also went unanswered. This was a clear failure to uphold their contract and maintain safe storage conditions. The result was severe property loss, emotional distress, and unnecessary exposure to hazardous mold. I strongly advise anyone considering storage at this facility — or any CubeSmart facility — to think twice. Climate control promises mean nothing if the company won’t maintain the equipment or address known problems.

I wasn’t even sure what this building was at first. I remembered it being Kaufmann’s! I stopped in out of curiosity and ended up picking up some moving boxes and tape. Super helpful staff and a clean, organized space. Nice surprise!

Well so far I'm going to leave it as a two star because I was lied to about the price. I was told originally that I would stay at the price I was told. Found out about a week ago that the price jumped up almost $50 so My payment went from about $60 to $110 and now they said they will increase the price every year. I'm glad I moved my stuff out. I'll never be back. Finally got everything out of there and glad because I have proof the building is leaking something crazy. If you'd like to see the pictures let me know.

Facility is clean a huge maze love the access and the use of dolls. However, in front of building has some nasty pot holes to navigate in the dark ended up stepping in one twisting my ankle and tearing my acl. Other than that great place to store things

So far I will leave a five star review for CubeSmart self storage. I have not used the storage facility yet, but I have been very pleased with how customer service has been so far. The lady at the front office was very nice and accommodating. She answered all of my questions and showed me around the facility. I love that the place is climate controlled! I think that their prices are very competitive! So far, I would highly recommend this place. ??

I love how cheap the storage units are. But upon checking in to my unit for the first time someone else’s lock was already on it and it was after hours. I was able to call the corporate number and had to be transferred to someone to get a new unit assigned.

I pay Lil less than $100/mo for a 7x10. It's about the size of a tiny bedroom or a walk-in closet. Just enough for what I needed (storing stuff til I move somewhere else). I wish it had A/C because it gets unbearably hot in there sometimes! But I love that it is at least kept clean and dry. It echoes in here and is usually tidy. Workers are always extremely friendly, seems a good company to work for in that they help their employees. Overall, it is a trustworthy and convenient option imo!

Somehow brand new, filthy, infested with cockroaches, trash cans overflowing, understaffed, etc. Worst storage unit I've ever used. Also...good luck unloading a large load in this place. Tiny carts to load your possessions onto & get ready for some serious back & forth walking. I'm not exaggerating. This place is a massive maze & if your unloading a large load, you better have ALL DAY to get it done. Extremely disappointed.

THIS CUBESMART IN CANTON DOESN'T DESERVE ANY STARS ! MY DAUGHTER AND I LEARNED TODAY ( 2/1/24 ) THAT THEY SOLD OUR UNIT EVEN THOUGH THEY HAD NO COMMUNICATION WITH US ! In August 2023 my daughter and I were evicted from our apartment, we had until September 1st to have our belongings out of the apartment. I rented a storage unit from Cubesmart, the manager was fully aware that we were being evicted with no where to go ! Everything we owned was in our unit including the cremation remains of our dog Hershey and my daughters cat Peanut. When we walked out of our apartment on September 1st we had no forwarding address, my cell phone had been disconnected and our SUV was up for repossession ! We paid for a motel weekly thinking the worst was behind us ! Living hell was on it's way ! I was working on a Friday when the finance company repossessed our SUV in the parking lot where I was working. I lost my job having no transportation, we lost our motel room and was thrown out onto the street ! We carried the belongs we had with us and our pets ! We had no choice but to surrender our cats to the Humane Society ! We settled behind a clothing dumpster for days until a gentleman stopped to help us. He loaned us a car he wasn't using for shelter, he gave us money for food and bought us McDonald's for breakfast ! We spent the next month and a half living in this car ! I was hired for a new full-time job during this time, my first paycheck we were able to get out of the car and into a hotel once again ! There was no way for Cubesmart to communicate with us ! We still have no address, my phone was disconnected long enough to lose my phone number and my phone that had my email on it was in the SUV when it was repossessed ! THERE SOLUTION WAS TO SELL OUR UNIT WITHOUT OUR KNOWLEDGE ! SHAME ON YOU CUBESMART ! If there's only ONE person that benefits from me sharing our story, it was worth it ! This shows in more ways than one that businesses don't care about there customers, it's all about the money !

My mother and I lost all our belongings due to non payment from being homeless. When asked what was done with our stuff, we weren't even given a chance to pay and was talked down on rudely. They do not communicate with you to let you know this will happen. My mother and I was homeless for a month and a half, lived outside for 3 days. We lost cremated animals that meant the world to us and we have no furniture for when we get a place. Thanks for selling our belongings.

Ryan and Paula are wonderful to deal with. Always upbeat and have great customer service skills. Always so friendly and professional. Building is well maintained and lighting very good. Happy here so far. Upper management does not do as good as job as the store managers. What I don’t like is that they raise the price on you after a few months of service. I moved to the back because they raised my rent on my front unit after 3 months. 3 moths later they raised my new unit again after the DM promised not to. I’m not happy with these increase as they are not cheap. Not fair to loyal customers. If it keeps up I’ll be looking elsewhere.
