Before I rented I asked if I could rent for a single month. They said yes. I rented for a month in cash. Thank God. I received a bill for $788 today. It’s been two months since I rented it. I don’t understand if it’s month to month rental why am I being charged? If you do rent from this place pay with cash and do not give a credit card because it will automatically bill you.

Some storage units are infested with spiders(the only bug that makes my skin crawl) and rats/mice as well as hornets(nests) etc. You name it, I've seen it. Many things were damaged/destroyed and had to be thrown away. Gloves and masks were necessary. Also, their prices have inflated over the past couple years. Disappointing experience.

Great service, awesome staff. No complaints there. However, We went to empty out our storage unit...we found our things ruined, Hundreds of items destroyed by mice. Feces and urine over 75% of our belongings. We had to have our children tested for Hantavirus (yes, it was THAT bad). It was upsetting for them. We all ended up ill, in some capacity over the following week. We brought it to their attention and they felt bad but they said, that even though we paid insurance for the last four years (12 -14 a month x 4 years) it doesn't cover rodents. I'm just so dissatisfied and disappointed with their Corporate policies, not to even offer to "make it right", Cube Smart is just GARBAGE!!!

Excellent and convenient storage location. The facility is clean and management is super friendly and helpful. As far as storage locker chains I have found CubeSmart to be in general the best there is and the staff is definitely the tipping point here in terms of being the "best"... There are many storage chains that have adequate facilities but CubeSmart and this location specifically has an especially accommodating group. Points always given for any company these days that answers the phone when you call without having to go through five minutes of options that seem to have always "recently changed"... CubeSmart answers in person nearly every time and has a genuine interest in helping answer questions or solve any problems Highly recommend for your storage needs!!!

Great people especially Laurie and Mark. I rent a spot for about a year and closing the unit was very easy. Should I ever need another retal unit these are the same great local people I will use again. I whole heartedly recommend this place to use.

Marc was great, helpful & friendly and showed me my space immediately. Laurie was fabulous too! Process was quick & easy. My only negative was that I was informed that I needed to purchase insurance which I have on my home already & I was going to bring that in the next day. I "assumed" that when I brought in my insurance info that the 12.95 I paid less than 24 hours previously would be credited back to my acct. Wrong! Had I known that, I wouldn't have signed contract the first day & waited until I brought I my insurance info. I was told that I would have "double" coverage for one month, no credit. Who needs double coverage for a storage unit??!! I take my responsibility in it of course, but thought surely crediting me 12.95 wouldn't have been a big deal?

Mark was helpful, professional and nice to work with. The sign up process was quick and painless. They do REQUIRE insurance and a admin fee just for signing up. The 'pay late' provisions are pretty strict, so pay on time. The access hours are great - 6a-10p and the office is open 7 days a week. Security cameras blanket the facility so I feel confident leaving my stuff there. Claim to have no rodent problems....somewhat hard to believe, but they do conduct preventative maintenance.

They will say ANYTHING to get you under contract, then throw you under the bus. I wanted to rent a unit to hold the abandoned items from a tenant who moved out of state & left her items in a home I manage. I asked if we could switch the rental acct into the tenant's name if she decided to have United Storage continue to hold her items - yes not a problem! Then I signed the rental agreement. A few months into the contract, the tenant wanted to do exactly as described above. I again asked United Storage if this would be a problem - nope. I just had to go in and sign some paperwork. I went in, and a different associate tried to have me sign an Abandonment form instead. When I pointed out the error, he told me according to RI laws, we couldn't simply switch the account over to another person unless they were physically present in their office to do so and they can't even discuss the acct with the tenant as her name isn't on the lease. I told him I spoke to someone from US who twice told me there wasn't a problem doing a swap with someone out of state. "They were incorrect." He apologized and said he would speak to a regional manager to see if US could facilitate an account transfer by having me sign the docs in their office and having the tenant sign her docs in a sister office in the state she now resides...and he'd call me back. 2 weeks later, same rep calls me back asking me to come in and sign an Abandonment form - total change of tune. I told him no. He started telling me I should tell the tenant to look up their sister locations in her state and basically drive around to those facilities and ask if they will witness her signing a lease agreement for the RI storage facility. I said "you told me YOU would do this and since her name isn't on the lease, no one would speak to her about my acct anyways...wouldn't it make sense for you, a rep from US, to contact a facility, explain the situation, and see if they will be willing to do this?" After all, the misinformation is totally their fault. He hemmed and hawed and said he'd speak to a manager. Never did. I contacted regional managers since United Storage Johnston is completely inept at their own business, incompetent in RI laws pertaining to their business, and basically suck at customer service - and received a prompt email back that they'd look into it and take care of it. I followed up a week later, and never received a reply. Avoid United Storage and Cubesmart as a whole. I refused to pay the storage fees and they ended up auctioning the unit I suppose, never heard from them again. HORRIBLE company.
