Ridiculous rent increases with no more than 30 days warning. I moved 4 miles down the road from their Daniel Island, SC location, and I am paying 35% the last rate paid at CubeSmart. I can rent a conditioned apartment for the square footage rate I was being charged.

It’s a fine place to park your boat. But it’s only a parking spot. No power, no water. It worked for me, but I found it gross they raised the rent so soon. For the new price, I could have been near a boat ramp and had a hose to wash down the boat.

Cube Smart one day just decided to increase my rent by roughly 10% after I’d been renting my unit for 4 months. I’m not sure how a business can get away with this, but be sure to read your contract and know that they’ll do this to you too.

On site managers are nice and facility is clean and easy to access. However they have raised the price multiple times in our one year of having the unit. 25% in one year! Companies like this are the reason inflation is so high - no clear increase in costs on their end - just raising to raise. Dissapointing.

I have rented as many as ten parking spots and storage units at the same time over the last 12 years. Loyalty was once rewarded. It evidently means nothing to the current owners and managers. My rate increased numerous times over the last two years, often without notice. The last increase has me paying almost 45% more than the non-discounted stated price on the website. When I questioned why I was being charged more than the stated rate, Reed, the manager, said “basically because we can”. Pretty unethical response and outfit. I completely understand that prices may increase overtime or that new unit renters get a discount but it is unfair to make up individual increases and charge others different prices over and above what the stated rate is.

The process is pretty simple to do online and so far I am happy with it. One thing that I would like to see changed is the reservation process to contract process. The date you reserve as a start date doesn’t transfer to your contract! Look for the effective date on the contract and be sure it is the date you need - otherwise it is effective dated in the current date.

We needed a place to park our RV while visiting friends in Charleston. The location was very convenient, nicely paved lot and secure fence with coded gate. This is the first time we’ve used Cube Smart so we had o get our account set up. The young lady who helped us over the phone was amazing. She stuck with us through the entire process until completed. She told us to expect a follow up call from the local manager. True to her word, Reid called to make sure we were set to go, provided us with some additional directions and advise for arriving. We will be using Cube Smart if we need storage in the future. Awesome team work!

This place does NOT have security cameras in the parking area despite claiming to have them. Vehicle was hit and damaged in this storage facility. Management made no effort to find out what happened and was very unresponsive. I recommend going somewhere else for any security!

When unemployed due to COVID and fell behind with payments they would NOT allow any form.of a payment plan. They piled on the fees and $100 liens. Had to sell my engagement ring to pay the $350 + in one lump some to stop my stuff (family heirlooms) from being auctioned. I'll never put my valuables in storage ever again, especially this one.

I feel it is important to share our very positive experience with CubeSmart here on Daniel Island. We feel much of this is due to Reid, the manager, who has consistently been personal and provided outstanding service from the very beginning! He showed sincere interest and helped us secure exactly the storage room we needed. He followed up on a unit he thought might become available and called us the next morning with an update. We had the unit by that afternoon! Reid also went out of his way to help us when we lost the key to our lock and he cut the lock off for us. We also have a boat stored in the lot. When we decided we wanted it in a different spot in the lot Reid assisted in working that out for us quickly. We have used other storage facilities over the years but we've never experienced the top notch service we have had from Reid and CubeSmart. Thank you for the outstanding service, we are so appreciative of Reid.

They gave me the wrong location, then the gate code was malfunctioned & didn’t get an alternate code till it was too late. Almost missed my flight cause of this... I was forced to find storage with another company. I was never able to even get past the gate. Completely got screwed out of roughly $207. EDIT: CubeSmart has since contacted me to rectify the concern. It seems I used a 3rd party to secure my storage and that is where the miscommunication/breakdown started from. I can whole heartily say they’ve (CubeSmart) made it right with me, even though it wasn’t their fault. They seem to genuinely care about their customers! My advice is to skip the 3rd party applications & contact CubeSmart directly. PS: Whoever is “Skip’s” boss... give that man a raise. He’s an asset to your company! (Or at least a steak dinner).

Easy access to the unit. Very helpful staff. I misplaced my keys and the staff had no problem cutting my lock off and getting me into the unit. And don't worry, they won't cut your lock off just because they can. I had to sign a release to get it cut off. :)
