I am actively looking for a mom-and-pop self-storage business to support rather than CubeSmart. The employees at this location are friendly and keep the facility super clean (Sara has been especially helpful!), but when something goes wrong outside of business hours, it's really difficult to figure out what to do. The CubeSmart website is a corporate black hole without clear instructions on who to notify in case of an "emergency" (outside of calling 9-11). Both elevators were out on new year's day: one had an out-of-order sign on it, while the other didn't, suggesting that it had gone out over the holiday. It was frustrating to not be able to get to my second-floor unit, especially since I had a friend who'd traveled two hours to get something from it. When I went looking for a door or stair to get to the second floor, I found that the two doors leading from the exterior of the building to the second floor were WIDE OPEN. The building literally had no security. I also discovered that there was no way (from inside or out) to get to my second floor unit if both elevators are out, which I hadn't realized because I'm always using the elevators to move my stuff. I wrote an email to CubeSmart customer service and still have received no reply. I left a message for the employees, but figured that it went straight to their voicemail in the office and wouldn't be heard until the next business day (which is understandable). I could not figure out from CubeSmart website how to alert the company that the building was compromised. There has to be something in between calling 9-11 and waiting until the office opens when the building is wide open. The opportunity for things to go wrong here without anyone knowing -- or for me to even be able to reach my unit if both elevators are out! -- is too high for me to pay the very high rates, which have risen multiple times since I first rented this unit about a year ago. I'm sure there are local spots where not only can I meet the owner, but that the rates are cheaper!

The site is prominently visible on Wade Hampton Boulevard and easily accessible. The clean site along with your efficient, professional, informative associates (male & female) gave me the assurance that I’m leaving my belongings in capable hands. The pictures on the website don’t lie: it’s is identical to what I saw in person. Clearly the location is well maintained. Bring a lock and key if you have one cause they’ll charge you 20$ for your own. Also if you have renters insurance bring a proof of copy cause you’re charged 15$ on top of your monthly renting fee for their insurance. Besides that, we were treated well, very friendly staff!!

Wonderful place from the time I walked into the door Evelyn greeted me as if she had known me for years. She told me that she had no units there for rent but she did not let me walk out the door without helping me to find a unit to rent. She called several stores until she found a unit for me. It’s like she looked at me and knew I was stressing. Very helpful best customer service I’ve seen in a long time

It is currently 3:26PM on a Thursday. I am sitting outside looking at their closed sign with the hours listed right above, stating they don't close until 6PM. This is the THIRD time this has occurred, forcing me to pay online, which charges an extra $5. Small change maybe, but it adds up quick. Why is no one ever here? I don't get it. Not to mention, when you happen to get Evelyn (I think that's her name, she says it so quickly I can't really understand her) on the phone, she's not exactly friendly. It's a shame because the gentlemen they had working in this office before they switched ownership were true gems. Really looking forward to moving and ending my lease here, you could do better elsewhere.

Facilities are clean and bright. Units are easily accessible. The staff was very helpful and accommodating when I started my lease and in the process of transferring to a larger unit

Bill was so kind and helpful. My boyfriend and I got there a few minutes before closing at 6 because we had just gotten off work ourselves, but Bill stayed late to sell us our unit and show it to us and even clean it. Bill made our first experience renting a storage unit wonderful! We will definitely rent from Life Storage if we ever need a storage unit again!

I booked my storage space online and I picked the wrong size but Evelyn stepped in and saved the day she found me a cheaper bigger space at another store and she made sure everything was taken care before I even arrived at the other store. She is the best!! I highly recommend!!

I rented a space at Life Storage on Wade Hampton Blvd this week and I am extremely impressed with the cleanliness and how easy it was to get into my unit. Evelyn was very professional and friendly... she helped me decide which unit size would work best with what I am storing and made the initial process of the rental very smooth. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a storage unit!

Cameron at LockBox Self Storage is the best. I made a mistake on the initial paperwork, and he was very accommodating. We found a solution quickly. I am impressed by the low fees at LockBox and the 24 hour access. This makes them an attractive business for a nonprofit like ours that serves low income groups.

We had made a reservation 2 days ago and due work circumstances we couldn't make it in til this Saturday morning, but they still had our reservation file and honored it including the price. We had the pleasure of working with Luis this morning which he made sure to make everything quick, fast and easy. He was very polite as he took the time to show us around and explain how everything worked. We would recommend this to anyone looking for a secure, safe, and clean storage unit.

This is by FAR the best storage unit I have used! As a realtor who also stages houses, it’s important that I have a clean space to store my furniture items. This facility is brand new and super clean. Luis and Taylor are customer focused and always happy to help with any questions I have about changing units, discounts that are available that specific month and welcoming me and my team every time with a smile!

Luis was rude and uncaring. I rented a uhaul online and was to do the online check in. I was unable to do that and had to spend a half hour checking in AGAIN with my 3 year old and movers waiting for me. When I get to the truck , have car seat in and ready to go- it won’t start at all. We went back inside , 3 year old and car seat in hand and waited another 30+ minutes for him to ultimately just tell me to go across the street. His coworker told him to have the replacement truck brought ACROSS THE STREET for me - so I didn’t have to put car seat back in car and in new truck again. For some reason he wasn’t able to do this but gave me no explanation whatsoever and just told me to go across the street. At no point was he apologetic for my experience or inability to help resolve the issue better. When I asked about the $50 reservation guarantee he tells me to contact corporate- when I asked for his regional manager contact information he would only give me the nAme and that came from the co-worker not Luis. I was obviously agitated- keeping a 3 year old calm and occupied for nearly two hours while renting a truck Should be an act of sainthood but not once did I curse or yell with Luis and my child was surprisingly well behaved. I was understandably frustrated and apologized for being short if I was but this was quite the ordeal. I simply was shocked to be treated this way- as a woman, as a single mother and as a customer paying you money. The facility across the street was amazing and had me in/out in 5 minutes, were polite and helpful- not to mention understanding. This was exclusively an experience of Luis and his cold grinch of a heart with customer service.

I move around a lot and have a lot of experience with storage. This place is brand new, clean and the manager Blake has been a great help. Highly recommended, especially since they offer some excellent specials.
