Yesterday I came to get a unit in person the lady working said I had to reserve online. I informed her I wanted to see the sizes, she just recommended some. I left and reserved online. I came back later that evening with my U-Haul full and my daughter trying to unload before dark but there was a red lock on my unit. I called in and the said the manager daughter will be there to unlock the unit. (She was there in minutes They were extremely nice and helpful but she should’ve never been called since she is on comp). None of the keys worked her mom had to come out in a wheelchair the unit that was sold to me had been auctioned off so was not assessable. She tried helping me call someone for help, everyone refused to bc the transfer department was closed. It’s was now dark we are out mind you I have my 2yr old kid and no one is helping us with a solution. The lady on site had her daughter find me an empty unit and allowed me to move my stuff in told me to call in the am to have my unit transferred and explain what happened. This would have never happened if the 1st person did there job and customer service over the phone sucked as well. No one would help me. I’m thankful for the onsite ladies daughter

If I could give the cube storage on Ashley phosphate Road in North Charleston zero stars I would. I would not recommend this place to any honest person. I moved out of the storage. I let the older lady Cindy know that I was moving out over the weekend while moving. We lost the lock key. that Monday because it was the sixth she refused to cut the lock and wanted to charge me for the new month. I refuse to pay that because I no longer needed the storage. They had me contact corporate. No one ever got back to me, it was supposed to be. Whoever Skip is, and when he contacted me, he was very rude and condescending. He did not listen to a word that I was saying he just kept trying to throw legal action at me when in all actuality, they are the crooks Then they started talking about charging me all this money and ruining my credit I would not recommend this place to a dog or my worst enemy. They put me through hell, and I’m still fighting to clear it up.

I give a 1* because I had a terrible experience with management on how they handled my situation. They are big on being against you on the premises after 10pm, to which is an issue. Why would they allow you to access the units just minutes before but then not allow for exiting the gate afterwards? So this happened to me. I tried leaving the unit at 10:15 (unaware/accidentally I overstayed). The gate would not allow me to leave. So I called the 2 numbers I found on site and 3 other numbers I found online to get help. All numbers led to the same automated options of which neither got me to anyone that could help. The management option went straight to voicemail. So I did what I thought would be a good idea, which I walked outside the gate to knock on the window of the office building (which is were the property manager lives). I startled her. She came out yelling and cursing at me for disturbing and waking her. I responded, matching her energy but never cursed her or spoke badly, yet I repeated apologized for bothering her and explained that I didn’t know what to do and that I can’t get out and the numbers didn’t help. So she felt best to file a police report on for trespassing and evicted me from the property. I was lost and didn’t know what to do to get out so because I knocked on her window (the front door to the apartment half of the building is inaccessible and would be trespassing) I was kicked out. Management and district management both agreed I handled it wrong and should not have been there. I was locked in the fence yet I was wrong! Company was very rude and not understanding of my situation nor did management see how there was confusion, misunderstanding in my situation. They don’t offer a direct contact for after hours nor give any instruction anywhere on the premise if that happens. It was never my intentions to stay after hours (but I honestly didn’t know I’d get locked in either), nor was it my intentions to cause harm or fear in the on site manager. I was lost and didn’t know what to do for help! Overall! Terrible experience and district was very rude in listening and understanding my situation. Yet their phone line prides themselves on customer service!

Who'd have thought, a self-storage unit with AWESOME service? But believe. you me, It exists!!! I've maintained 2 storage units at CubeSmart's Ashley-Phosphate location for nearly 5-years and - embarrassing as this is - i recently lost the keys to my units --ALL of them. I thought cutting off the locks was going to be a major ordeal, but Jennifer had them sawed-off within minutes of my arrival. Better yet, when i bought new locks, she made the brilliant suggestion to store my extra keys in the CubeSmart office, that way it can never happen again. Perfect! THANK YOU JENNIFER! From the moment I walked through the door, Miss Patty was THE ABSOLUTE BEST!! First I want to thank Jennifer the location manager in Charleston SC, her supervisor Terri (sp?) and the district manager Skip who all took time out of their day to help me with my situation. NOW when i hear the message that CubeSmart has won the "Best Customer Service" Award, I believe it!! These 3 people took time to help me even though I dont have a storage unit in their area. For me, my things in storage arent the things that are "extra", they are things that are important to me. So keeping my account current, etc is always a priority. But life can get complicated and you can miss payments, etc. and it can be very stressful. No one wants their things auctioned off! So when I was told I had to update my account info from my rental location and was told it had to be in person, I informed them I was in another state. they said I could go into a local cubesmart get a form, fill it out and the person there could change it for me. I went to (Jennifer's) location and the person said you cant change your info remotely. I called my location and said "I have this form, why cant I just go online and change it per the form?" "No, you have to do it in person so when you go back, have them call us directly and we will have them email us the updated info." So I went back a 2nd time. That's when I met Jennifer. She said that she was not able to update my info no matter what because I dont have an account at their location - it's a liability / company rule. So I called my location. And then I went to my car to let the 2 locations sort it out. Jennifer then spoke to Terri and Skip. It turned out Jennifer was right. She cant change the info but said maybe we could change it thru Cubesmart Customer Service. Then Jennifer said "I'll do it with you right now." WOW! Customer Service in Full Effect!!!! We spoke to DeShawn in Customer Service who set me up with temporary info to change my account info and JUST LIKE THAT...SOLUTION! Look, I get it. dealing with people can be a lot sometimes. I know I can be a lot, sometimes. But I also deal with a lot of people in my work. And if you dont want to take the time to give the right information to your customers then you should not be working in a Customer Service job. To find out after weeks of efforts that all I had to do was go online to update my info was very frustrating. What made it all ok was that 4 people who had NOTHING to do with me and/or my account took the time to help me. And for that I give ALL the stars! * * * * * (that's 5 stars). They showed me so much support and assistance as I was transitioning my final time with them. Traveling 8 hours on the road wanting to empty the final things out, at the end I had a meltdown. The staff is kind, when I do see them. I do, however, find the auto shut-off on the lights a great inconvenience when I'm loading and unloading. Don't store your possessions here. We were lied to for 2 months with misleading information regarding our AC UNIT. They sold it to us and said it would he fixed in a week. Didn't happen even after a months of excuses. Then when they tried to rectify the situation , they put the new unit in one name instead of transferring information. Now I'm out if town, husband is helping daughter move. Can't find my lock keys anx they won't remove the lock unless I'm there. Our names were on both rental units, until they transferred the unit that wasn't working. Now we have to move my daughter when I get back. Another truck rental, and unhelpful staff/manager. I will move my things to a place that has better costumer service, doesn't lie, and worms with their costumers. Shame on you.

Very quick, easy, and friendly place for storage. My company warehouse was completely full and I needed a place to store some product quickly. I went out on the website on a Wednesday night reserved a large unit for a low price and the first month free. Stephanie at their office called me first thing the next morning to confirm. I went there signed the paperwork and began loading the unit right away. I ran out of space and she rented me the unit right next to it as well. Stopped into this facility yesterday after driving past a few others because the driveway and space between the storage units best met my needs and accommodated the size of my U-Haul and trailer. After communicating with Mr. Ronnie my mind was made up on renting the space. He provided excellent customer service and went above and beyond to ensure that I was comfortable with the size of the unit and my decision to rent. They have a great move in specials and the property is well kept and managed. There are 24 hour cameras and management lives on the property which is also a plus. Moving from Texas its hard to know who to trust with your things this place was a great find all around! P.S. if you ask really nicely they will even provide you with water bottles while you move.. ????

I inquired with several questions, and the Manager (Mr. Leaks) was most professional and knowledgeable. Also, I took a tour and did observed the hallways and threshold both were impressive and tidy. I choose the Climate Control Unit, and signed a lease with this storage company.

Clean, pest control services maintained, security on grounds and inside, and climate control for the one I picked. . This facility and location, and unit seemed to work well for me within the surrounding area that I reviewed. Suited me best, except for price little high for area, but close by. Very friendly and helpful staff. Only had few weeks at this point.

great, new place that was actually well thought out while being built (the doorways are wide enough to fit a couch through without cutting it in half) and the humidity levels were so low my water absorbers were barely used (for 8 months of humid spring and summer) . great knowleagable staff also. HIGHLY RECOMMMENDED

I would like to give a review of my experience when I rented at Cubesmart with Tina. My actual first experience with Tina was at a store. We were both in line and she was in her uniform, we said hello to each other and that is when I noticed she worked for a storage company. We were actually in need of storage due to our recent move coming up. I asked her where she worked at and Tina had no problem answering my questions about storage and gave me a business card with her information on it. I felt bad because I know she was off however she didn't skip a beat and answered all my questions and offered to help me reserve a space being the office was closed (it was Sunday evening). I didn't reserve one because I had to speak to my wife first but then when we talked and I told my wife how friendly Tina was we decided to go to rent. When we pulled up Tina greeted us at the door with a smile and she remembered my name (that was great) she shook our hands and we really felt welcomed. Tina answered all of our questions and never stopped smiling. When we were finished she walked us out to check our code and again she shook our hands and thanked us for coming by. My wife said "Wow you do not see many people like her everyday" . If we know of anyone who needs storage we will send them her way because of her our moving needs were made a little easier. You could tell she takes pride in her job. Sorry if this was so long but she deserves to know that we appreciate her and all she did for us. Way to go Tina!!!

I went to another storage place as well and iam so glad I decided to move my things to cube smart.
