NEVER USE CUBESMART! The Dorchester Rd location in North Charleston, SC has no cameras. My unit was burglarized because someone cut my lock and without cameras there's no way to even get an idea of who did it. But it doesn't matter to them because even the police officer that took the report told me I should get my stuff out of there because of their history of burglaries. The lady at the front desk told me that she's been begging corporate to get cameras. And the insurance company they use is a joke as well. They make the process so convoluted and difficult that I can easily see why people give up. I've lost my work equipment and had to cancel jobs because of this. My business is pretty much over and they don't care. They lure you in with these fantastic offers and claim to have security cameras when in reality they only have one- it's pointed at the front gate and their office. CUBESMART is a terrible business and I would not be at all surprised if the theft is assisted or perpetrated by people that work there. If you value your property DO NOT USE CUBESMART!!!

I visited my unit today to find active ant mounds within. As I pulled my belongings out in a panic, I saw dead baby roaches and eggs in my clear totes. Most of the affected totes held holiday decor and had only been stored for 4-6 months. I lost a lot of belongings. The employee at this location was extremely kind and empathetic. She allowed me to view multiple empty units and choose the “best” one for the items I kept. She sprayed it with Ortho Home Defense again to give me peace of mind. Unfortunately, it also had roach eggs in it. A unit neighbor said they get roaches in their unit too. I suppose it’s inevitable given they are outdoor, non-climate controlled, but the amount of dead roaches (at least 6 dozen babies) in my unit alone signifies an infestation on the property. I’ll be moving out by the end of the month after this experience but appreciate how the situation was handled. Four months ago the office didn’t have a manager and random workers were being pulled from all over to cover. No one was in office during business hours, calls weren’t getting returned, my unit rate increased multiple times in a 2 month span. I had prepaid for 12 months but they had charged me for renter’s insurance I didn’t need through them. They advised I only prepaid for 9 months, but had overpaid for that timeframe due to the insurance charges. It took months to get that refund. It was a nightmare. I wish I had left then. Maybe my belongings would have been spared.

Literally large dead bugs in the welcome bag. Bottom part of the door is hanging off. The back of my unit isn’t cement ground, it drops down and is dirt. They aren’t sealed so filled with bugs which makes me nervous to actually store things. Probably won’t renew after the month.

My husband and I purchased one of their units through an auction. We have done a few of these and usually it is pretty seamless. The parking area was a little small since we had our trailer with us but that was honestly expected given the location. The office was clean and the temperature was standard with the temperature outside. Lilly was quick and informative. She gave us clear and precise directions on how to get to the unit and met us there to unlock. She was very friendly and made the whole process very simple. Navigating through the aisles looked like it wiold be tight but it was pretty easy to navigate through and the signs really helped with knowing which numbers you were going to. We will definitely be on the lookout for more units from this location.

I truly appreciated the service I received from the Managers at this CubeSmart. From the reserving the unit to moving in Stewart was extremely helpful. The property was clean and when I arrived Stewart was actually cleaning the property. Then I had to stop in today due to forgetting my gate access code. Lilly was very professional and assisted me. I was very very disappointed with the service here! I needed to gain access to my unit at 1030pm one night and my code didn’t work. I called the main office number and got the voicemail. Called the corporate office and they tried calling the main number and the after hour number. No one returned their calls.The corporate office called the district manager and his response was that they no longer allow 24 hr access. When I rented the units, I was assured that I will have 24 hr access. That was the one reason I rented here. The next week I moved all my items to Extra Space and got a larger unit for less. I will never use cube smart in the future!

I stopped by the Dorchester road CubeSmart location today I was greeted at the door by Heather she had a beautiful smile on her face and that's what she could do for me I told her that I was moving from Arizona to Charleston and that I was looking for storage until my house is done she showed me a few storage cubes and of course I had a 100 questions and she answered every single one of them she is very kind and caring and pleasant to talk to she explained everything to me about the move-in process. Every question that I had should it be little or big, the representative had an answer. She was knowledgeable and knew what she was talking about. This storage was rented to my son, which is a college student and still dont understand how to handle business yet, and after he went and paid for the storage unit I got a call staying that he was done and what the next step would be. She didn't have to do that because my child is over 18. If I were to recommend a storage facility, it would be.this business all the way.

Absolutely a joke. Canceled our service for normal reasons, then one week later got a late bill out of the blue. Trying to be a reasonable customer we called to see what was going on. It's been two weeks now and we can't get a hold of anyone. No one answers the phone, no one is in the building during office hours, even driving around the property no one was on site. Good luck with this place.
