Winter Storage Tips For Your ATV

If the winter months are on the way, we have some brilliant storage preparation tips, to help you get your ATV ready for the cold snap and everything the winter elements can throw at you.

• First up – get it nice and clean. No doubt the sun and wet weather have got your ATV nice and muddy. So, as you prepare for winter and storage – wash your ATV.
• Check and top up any fluid levels – including brake fluid, antifreeze, oil, fuel stabilizer, etc.
• Decide whether you are storing long-term or short-term and then prepare your battery accordingly. If you plan on short-term access you can ride regularly, make sure it’s fully charged when put into storage. If you are going for long-term storage over the winter, it’s best to take the battery with you and put it on a trickle charger at home.
• Even if your ATV is being stored inside, we recommend you cover it to ensure it’s protected from dust, dirt, and moisture.
• Get it off the floor by putting something like plywood under the wheels.
• There may be specific recommendations – every make and model is different, so we’d always recommend reading the owner’s manual when preparing your ATV for storage.
