Terrible customer service just now when I messaged to ask about this December 2024 payment email from CubeSmart instead of Public Storage. We’ve been renting a space here for years via autopay and out of the blue, with no email communication I can find, it seems this place got acquired and a new company is asking for payment. Messaged the online agent and they basically told me there’s nothing they can do, they don’t have any of our account information anymore, and to go talk to the new company about my account. I asked if they could share a contact email for CubeSmart and their reply was “Unfortunately, no. This is beyond our assistance” like they don’t give a damn anymore and can’t even pretend to figure out how to contact the company that took over so we aren’t left hanging and when I asked where I could file a complaint to Public Storage about the lack of warning and lack of account and payment transition support, they basically said “no one. Contact CubeSmart. If nothing else, thank you for visiting. “ and then they ended the chat. Terrible service. Really expected better and at least communications about the change of management and how to properly get set up with the new system so no payments are late.

On December 1, I paid for the insurance coverage for December, only to receive a letter stating that the facility would no longer be a Public Storage location and that the insurance would terminate on December 3. While this was understandable, I expected a refund for the unused coverage. When I called to inquire about this, the representative informed me there would be no refund and claimed the termination date was December 11—not the December 3 date indicated in the letter. When I questioned the discrepancy, the representative became rude and eventually disconnected the call. This behavior was unprofessional and unacceptable, particularly as I was simply trying to clarify the situation and seek a resolution. Additionally, I left a message for the facility in Allen regarding this issue but have not received a response. This lack of follow-up only adds to my frustration.

If you like being swindled then Public Storage is the place for you. I’ve had a storage unit with this location since March of 2021 when it was formally “Assured Self Storage” then Public storage purchased them. Assured Self Storage was great and I signed up with them at $127 a month, after Public storage purchased them they raised it to $227, zero changes were made and nothing is different. It actually got worse, I only come here a few times a month and I always see the gate left open so anyone can walk in the property, it is supposed to be secure. Now I got another letter from them that next month they are raising it to $275 a month. Do I get anything for this? No. The unit I have is not even climate controlled and they will not be adding that or anything additional, just charge me more for the same thing. You also get ZERO explanation as to why they are increasing it. Just a letter with you new payment on it and a “Thank you”. The monthly increase every year is ridiculous and they can’t even use the additional money to fix things like the gate that is repeatedly stuck open. National rent has increased 26% since 2020, however Public Storage has increased my rates by 116%…it’s a shame it is no longer Assured Self Storage, go anywhere else with your belongings, you will only have a negative experience with this place and whatever your monthly rent will cost is a lie, they will increase it after the fact. Very disappointing.

Don’t be fooled by the the pretty “online price”. They’ll get it back from you by forcing insurance down your throats and raising your rent every month. I spoke to the corporate call center and even a supervisor and they did nothing to save my business. Requiring me to pay insurance on my own things is completely ridiculous and controlling. I’ve decided to go with a competitor who doesn’t require me to pay for insurance and my rates are locked in. I encourage everyone to ditch this unethical, deceptive, and unfair storage company. There’s much better alternatives out there

First, Ryan Krep is right...Their prices will go up on you every 3-6 months. There is no reason this should even be a thing. People are trying to survive paying a mortgage, rent, car notes, etc. 2ndly, the last thing that should be increasing is your storage space. Ridiculous! Once I move my things out they have lost a long time customer due to this very reason. Also, they will ask for a 5 star the first day. Also, if you are late on payments due to an actual "Life or death bill" they will harass your family even when you just spoke to them regarding payment arrangements a few days prior. 3rd, they need to hire more people. They need to have 2 people always available to help customers and 2 people showing units. There always people outside waiting in Texas heat or in their cars for someone to come and open the door to rent out a space or discuss their account. There is no sign saying they are closed, on lunch or showing a unit. It is 3:30pm! This is absurb! They want to go up on rent, but don't want to provide exceptional customer service. This company no longer needs to buy out other storage companies when they can't handle their own. The only reason why they have a 2 star is because this location is convient with proper air condition. Public storage was a better company 10 years ago.

*Superior to CubeSmart in all respects.* I had a very bad experience with a local CubeSmart and their ridiculous policies over the insurance product they sell. I tried this Assured location as an alternative and they were just fantastic. Leah (I believe) answered all my questions over the phone in one call. When it came time to rent, Ernie made the process painless and answered all of my dumb questions. The location is great, the facility clean, and the price less than the alternative. Give this location a try and you'll be happy.

I have been in search of a storage facility and finalized a unit with Assured on exchange parkway. I wasn't sure how much space I really required so walked in and spoke with Liv. She is a wonderful person with a calm and inviting demeanor. She showed me the two units that I was interested and helped me size out what I I would really require. We drove to the units instead of looking at pictures. In the end she made her self available for any questions and helped with explaining everything that I signed. I would recommend.

Moving from over 1,400 miles away can be overwhelming especially in pandemic times. When researching for a self storage unit, Assured Storage of Allen, Texas seem to check all my boxes for storing our priceless belongings. (Old baseball mitt from high school-priceless). Assured met the following requirements. 1) extra security 2). Extra wide drive lanes 3) staff person lives on premises. 4) code entry only gates. 5) wide variety of storage sizes to choose from climate controlled or exterior. 6). easy signup. 7) payment can be accepted on line. 8) units are IMMACULATE which I appreciate 9). Any time we were visiting the property, they would walk out of their office to confirm who we were. 10) Strict maintenance with remediating and managing rodent and pest activity. 11) Won several awards for cleanest - I agree. What was most welcoming was one of the property managers named Liv. She was professional, accessible, answered all questions and more, accommodating to our unique needs, offered clarity, hands-on approach until we were fully satisfied and she is a lovely person. There were a few hiccups with billing, nothing outrageous. What was appreciated is how Liv corrected and clarified the situation immediately where most companies would not prioritize such a small item. She was happy to show us around. There were other property managers which carried themselves well. Liv created a welcoming atmosphere confirming our long distance decision was the correct decision. Thank you Liv for making the transition smooth, easy and friendly knowing our personal items are safe and sound.

Public Storage on Exchange is a facility that will enable you to safely store your possessions in a secure facility. Key in your personal code to enter a clean well laid out and spacious storage and parking area. We have used the 10X30, 10X20, and the 8X6, in addition to parking a 24 foot Wells cargo trailer. Easy in and out. There is also a dumpster for your refuse. Give them a try and talk to the friendly facilitator, Lisa. She is very helpful and will assist in selecting boxes and packing materials. Tell them that John sent you!

I simply cannot recommend Assured Self Storage in Allen enough! Ernie hooked us up with a storage rental last minute when we were in a pinch and our last storage unit fell through. We showed up on a Saturday night just minutes before they closed and he still helped us out and was very patient and helpful. I cant express our gratitude enough! If you need a very clean and friendly place to store your stuff this is it. Last October I need a spot to store an 18' trailer. Natasha and her staff went out of their way to help me find a spot. Big bonus was 24 hr access. In January I need a storage unit also. Again very accommodating and reasonable price.

My wife and I needed a nearby storage unit and this location was perfect for us. The rental agreement was quickly handled and the unit was just the right size. Entry and exit to the grounds is easily done with a key pad. We received a 25% discount for the first 3 months that we used the facility. Everything went well.

Assured self storage is a new nice clean facility. Very professionally ran. I feel like it's a very safe place to store my trailer. I looked at a lot of storage facilities and this is by far the best! There friendly staff makes it feel like a neighborhood storage facility. Unlike a lot of the other ones that have the big corporate name. I recommend it for anyone that needs a storage facility in the Allen area.

Very easy to work with, worked with us on access to our units as we moved, and helped us as we moved out of the units. We had inside conditioned units - and if you have ever had these they can be a pain if you want something in the back or middle of them - then put the rest of the stuff back in the unit. They worked with us to make this very easy. Good introduction rates, if you are going to be in ANY storage unit for longer than the introduction rate (even if not planned for) look at the regular rate. What is the value of the stuff in the unit? Divide by the regular rate - does this make sense to you as you are using the units. For a move or temp storage? We picked Assured not because they were the cheapest - that counts - but also because of the location in the heart of west Allen. And because as you are moving you will need food and there are plenty of options near Assured. Right off of Exchange near Alma - perfect.
