I gave them only 2? because of they're always raising their rates. For the climate control, I'd give them 4? because sometimes it's pretty warm in there & we're on the basement level. For everything else 5? because of cleanliness, availability of carts, hours open, & location.

The CubeSmart experience: 1. See reasonable rate on website 2. Rent storage unit at expensive, but reasonable rate 3. See your rate arbitrarily increase 30-50% a few months later 4. Call and ask why the rent listed on the website is hundreds per month less than what you pay 5. Get told that they can do whatever they want “because the contract” LOL 0 stars. The seem nice at first but do yourself a favor and avoid this bait and switch business.

Online registration was simple and effective. When I showed up to claim my space, I was greeted with a smile and received a thorough, very clear explanation of how to access my unit, borrow the moving truck, obtain packing materials...all done with a friendly and helpful attitude. This is an updated review. I have been storing things there since 2015. I highly recommend this particular cubesmart. The manager, Esther, is really top quality. In a time when businesses are difficult to contact by phone, she's always available and ready to help. She assisted me with transferring from one unit to another, and the whole process was accomplished easily and quickly.

The space was clean and easily acceptable, which I appreciate. However, my one major issue related to a poor customer service experience I had with one of the staff (manager?). I had originally reserved a large space because I was unsure of how much room I would need to temporarily store some personal belongings related to a move. Once I had everything placed in storage, I only required one 10 x 10 space. I asked the manager if I could get a reduced rate because the additional adjacent (which was completely partitioned and empty) space I had initially reserved remained unused. My request was flatly denied because the agent said that is the way it was "coded" in the system. Her solution was for me to move all of my personal belongings to another space, which I found to be very unreasonable given the fact there was clearly available capacity at this facility. As someone who has been in professional services industry for nearly 30 years, I found the response to be very disappointing.

Facility is more spacious compared to competitors and just as clean HOWEVER the inside temperature is kept fairly warm, especially on the 2nd floor (which is actually the 3rd. The first floor is considered the basement for whatever reason). We have had Extra Space and Public Storage on upper floors as well and this facility is warmer than either of those. Makes it VERY uncomfortable to work inside of your unit if you're organizing your things or looking for something. Plus, where our unit is located the lights keep turning off in our hallway so we have to walk down to the end of the hall to trigger the motion sensor so the lights will turn back on. This probably only applies to certain units but is very annoying nonetheless. Lastly, parking is sparse and somewhat inconvenient. We haven't needed a large moving truck but I can imagine anyone coming in with a big rig would struggle to find somewhere practical to park that doesn't block everyone else. As soon as we can, we'll probably move our things elsewhere.

This Lakeway/Steiner Ranch facility is really nice, clean and well laid out. The person who assisted me was very helpful. A couple of things to note. the person who helped me didn't show me how to confirm the reservation on my phone when I was there and asking for instruction, there is a certain amount of time when you have to submit a confirmation back. She did, however, go to the trouble to take my lock off and stop my movers from moving in because she didn't receive the confirmation back. Also, during COVID 19 Cube Smart has remained open as an essential business, it's a needed service. They do have a daily rental truck that you can use for 4 or 8 hours to move your items, but that free truck was restricted during COVID 19, so it's confusing as to what their services are. UHAUL and everyone else are just disinfecting the truck, so it's unhelpful when you are staying open to claim the service essential business, but to limit parts of your offering because it's inconvenient to disinfect the truck. Otherwise, good experience so far. Beautiful location.

Your Manager Catherine Pagano was exceptional in every way! Very Pleasant to be around! Has Great people skills! She was a Ray of Sunshine on what was for me a stressful day. I have other storage units in the area and have had many over the years. I would highly recommend this location! Very Clean, Organized, and Staffed. I have a storage unit at this place. I love the storage unit it is clean, air conditioned and is close to my house. The only draw back is I can not access my storage unit 24/7. I work long hours and gabby been able to access my storage unit because it is always closed. It is kinda expensive and i am having a hard time justifying keeping this unit.

I just started renting space from CubeSmart. It seemed simple enough. Go into the office, show your i.d., sign papers and get issued the flimsy lock they insist you buy from them...right? Except when I loaded up my car and drove over to unload the contents into my rented space, it was not business hours and there was CubeSmart's lock in the door. Ok...load back up, unload at home, rinse and repeat on the second trip. When I spoke to the office on the phone they suggested their lock was there because someone might move things into my space. Nah, I'm not buying that. Granted I was in too big a hurry the day I originally came to the office to have them escort me to my space, but I frankly think someone just dropped the ball here and forgot, or worse, couldn't be bothered to walk back to take the lock off. My time is very valuable and this is not a good start. One last thing I've noticed at this location. Maybe it's not a deal breaker but the thresholds to the doors here are not level with the walk so that if you want to get a cart up and over the lip you can get a running start or semi-lift the cart over the lip. Either way the contents on top of the cart start falling off. Keep an eye on fragile items. CubeSmart, I sincerely hope you fix this. It's all the doors, not a single one.
