Do not rent here. I've been in my unit for 15 months. After 3 months I got hit with an increase and now another. In 12 months it's increased $106.75/mo. It's not worth it. They have zero reason for the increases and raise them without notice. (They might send something in the mail but you won't even get it before you get the bill for said increase if at all) Also the increases are WAY above market. My unit currently is renting for $150 and they're charging me $310. Also, there is significant moisture in the space. The humidity level is definitely not right and I've had damage to many of my belongings due to the moisture and it being damp. The unit was also kind of dirty when I moved in and there were dead crickets in it. (Yea it's Austin but from what I've read they make you clean the unit before you leave so that's why I make that comment)

If I could give 0 stars I would. Don’t waist your time here! The employees and managers are very rude. The lady at the office with the glasses has a horrible attitude. Every encounter with her has been bad, she has hung up on me multiple times on the phone & loves to cut me off when I’m talking. You can tell that she hates her job. This place is by far the worst place I have ever used to store my belongings. We had a set price in our rental agreement and after 6 months of being there they jumped the price up 50$. When I tried to call and find out why, the lady at the desk couldn’t tell me. It was clear she had no idea what she was doing. When you need to get ahold of someone via phone, be prepared to be on hold for along time. The employees here are very discriminatory & will treat you like absolute garbage! My husband had a medical emergency in their bathroom this morning and there sink fell off the wall and hit him. He was in the bathroom taking his insulin due to low blood sugar. He almost fainted, and was having trouble standing due to being dizzy. He leaned up against the sink to not loose his balance and it fell straight on top of his feet. Once he felt safe to stand back up he tried to turn the water off that was running in the bathroom. When he left the bathroom an employee walked by and said “oh that’s not supposed to be like that” so he assumed they were aware of the sink falling. He was already injured and in pain so he just tried to get back to our car as fast as possible. He grabbed our tv from our unit and proceeded back to the car. When he went outside he was resting in the car making sure he was okay to drive the car back home & the lady from the front desk bangs on my car window and tells him that he’s been there too long and he needs to leave their parking lot. It is during business hours and we rent a unit at this facility… An hour after he gets home cube smart calls us and a lady starts yelling at my husband on the phone saying he broke their sink and he’s going to pay for it & they’re terminating our lease. I tried to talk to the lady and explain what happened but she would not listen to anything I had to say. She kept cutting me off, being super rude. I tried calling the district manager but I guess they had already talked to the lady at the front desk so we had no chance. The front desk lady lied to the manager and said that my husband was “impaired” & that he had something in his mouth when he was in our car then she said that they support the decision that the lady made to terminate our lease. The corporate lady would not listen to anything we had to say and kept calling my husbands behavior “suspicious”. They didn’t ask if he was okay, or even seem the least a bit worried about him or his health. They assumed and accused. Sinks don’t just fall out of walls. We have a two year old son and My husband works two jobs, he is constantly working while dealing with his medical condition. This is definitely not a place you want to store your belongings at. They will discriminate against you. They are Unprofessional, and irresponsible. Sinks don’t just fall out of walls like that unless their is something seriously wrong with the support system or it has issues with deterioration. My husbands feet are bruised and swollen, he could’ve been seriously injured due to this facilities negligence. We were treated like animals. Please think twice before using cube smart storage. They don’t care about customers at all. Save yourself the headache.

I've stored with different companies over the years and have always dreaded storing in the future. I signed with Cube Smart out of an emergency necessity and had only planned to store for a month and quickly stopping all payments. However, the experience and facilities were amazing and clean and I was treated awesomely. I ended up keeping my stuff stored there for about a year because the experience was the best I've ever had with a storage company. I am sad to leave, I found myself looking for reasons to keep the unit even though I no longer need it. Great job and I could tell that the employees love their job and take pride in their work.

Just a heads up to fellow LGBT+ neighbors who are thinking about securing a storage here. Although, I am not a customer (thank goodness) with CubeSmart, I am happy now that I am a diehard Public Storage customer! They would never approach this situation in a fashion in which "Store Manager" as he requested to be called, when asked what his name was. Monday around 5:15 PM, I was traveling on Parmer toward 620 and just about made it to Anderson Mill to turn left. When someone I assume, tossed a full soda or beer can out and before I could react my tire had blown. I was able to safely navigate into the part of the parking lot. I had time to call for roadside assistance and had just gotten out to access the situation before the "Store Manager," barrels out of the back fire exit. "Do you have a storage unit here sir?" Was what "Store Manager" asked. I had to take a second and think about what he'd asked. I responded, "Unless you're Public Storage that would be a no." I was kind of shocked that would be the first question. But wait it gets better......"You can't do that here." Again I had to really think about what I had just heard. "Ummm wait, what was that?" Was all I could think of to ask trying to process his statement. "You heard me. Unless you have a unit here you can't be here for very long." Immediately before I could catch myself "What is your name?" He quickly had to let me know, "Store Manager, thats all you need to know." At this point I am furious-"So, instead of barreling out of the fire exit as you did-How about 'oh snap I see you had a blow-out, is there anything I can do? Call someone? Instead, you tell me I can't be here obviously seeing I am stranded and have to wait until help gets here." As he stormed off I couldnt help but wonder what would make a complete stranger act like that 2 mins after wobbling into what I had hoped to be a safe place to get my spare on! I mean, that would have been the perfect opportunity to essentially sale your storage package and retain a customer, right? Once I changed to the spare tire. I drove home wondering two things, for those of you having read this far-thank you. Those two things were: 1). When did a flat constitute an employee of any sort, at any place of business-to not even greet a someone visiting during business hours? Did this flat make me appear as if I were trash or druggie or something? 2). I am obviously gay-pretty well kept in a 2021 that gets washed and waxed weekly.....made me think about the way he barreled out of the fire exit-giving me the ugliest up and down look and would not even look me in the eye after saying I couldn't be there-----It's because I'm gay? Very much the demeanor of a bigot the way he cut me off as if he could care-less coming from trash. Patrons, just beware of this location....Although I have thought it was the coolest storage, its huge and always looks clean and even thought about it until Public Storage blew me away with the entire process being virtual. Only spoke to customer service when they called to confirm my move-in date. If the owners happen to read this, I am sparing this post the footage from my dashcam of the interaction. However, I would love to allow you to see just how amazing this "Store Manager" is to potential customers.

I feel I was misled by your employee. I reserved a bigger unit and went in to set it up. I already had a smaller unit with my own insurance. When I went in to set it up, he suggested doing it myself through the link I was sent. When I started to fill it out, I noticed there was no option to put my own insurance. When I mentioned this, your employee said I could just add it and update it later. I started to fill it out and asked if I would be refunded the insurance charge if I went this route. He told me that I wouldn’t. I told him I wanted to cancel the reservation. He asked why. I told him misleading business practices. He acted shocked. I explained to him my perception, as I just did above. His response: “Well, you never asked.”

The facility manager was extremely helpful, friendly and professional. Unfortunately, when it came time to sign my lease and start moving things into my storage unit, the price quoted with my reservation was not honored and I was charged an extra $17 per month. I was also emailed a special online discount of an additional 5% off the my monthly rent amount, that too was not honored. When I went to move in, I noticed a sign on the side on the facility that faces the opposite direct of the entrance I typically use, offering “First Month Free!”, that was also not offered or honored. Bottom line, be careful and check and double-check and get the deals and offers in writing before you agree to rent from Cube Smart Storage - apparently onsite management, though helpful, has no ability to adjust pricing or help in any capacity when it comes to anything involving rent amounts. I’m out over $545 (even paid a full year in advance!) because they did not honor offers and deals. If I didn’t have to take possession of the storage unit the day I signed my lease, I would have gone to a different storage facility company.

Although I was not late on the payment... when I tried to put in a new credit card number (because the credit card on file had been compromised) for autopay it force me to pay a $5.49 what they call a ¨convenience charge¨ They find every way possible to charge you more. Of course this is probably written in the bunch of small letters that cancel the big letters of your contract. Just be aware of companies, now days, that instead of trying to get new customers they will just nickel and dime the customers they already have.

Bad, bad, bad - sums up my experience with these people. Not sure how they got awards in customer service, as their website claims, since they are rude, unprofessional, and do NOT live up to their own assertions. For instance, the website specifically says they accept packages, but at the office they refuse them. That is part of what I was paying for. And, the promotional rate is a scam - spent an hour on the phone with the district manager, who defended their policy of "continuing to give you the 25% off that you signed up for" - but, had a "rent increase" less than 2 months after I signed up, the first one for (gasp) 25%. The "rental rate" for my unit has continued to climb and is now DOUBLE what is posted online - oh, but I'm still getting my promised 25% off... Rates are adjusted individually PER UNIT - ie, YOUR "rate increase" will match your specific discount (the one that convinced you to sign up). So, each unit has a different price, with nothing to guide it except for cancelling out any promised discounts.

Bathrooms! Water fountains!! Carts and fully functional elevators as well as surveillance. Yeah, CUBESMART has it. Decent storage unit with decent provisions. HOWEVER, they increase their rates at their own convenience regardless of market trends. As soon as your contract ends and you're paying month-to-month, they will easily raise your rates ~80% This isn't a covid thing. I started renting after covid had passed, and somehow my rates increased close to 100%. They will lure you in with low prices, then jack them up as soon as your predicted rental period ends.

On Friday, March 23, 2023 at 10am. I had visited this location on W Parmer Lane, Austin Texas. Great customer service and the facility is very cleaned and great location! Also, the associate was very helpful, professional friendly and very knowledgeable. Thank to Jose whom assisted me with getting another storage unit. Update 8/18/21: I took the time to reach out to Cubesmart (as requested in their reply to this review) only to be called and told they still refuse to help recover my financial loss. Their review response was merely trying to save face to make it look like they'd tried to rectify the situation. To top things off, the general manager had the audacity to recommend products to clean the mold, as if I had not already tried that. The mold ate through the finish of my $300 table. There is no "cleaning" that. ------- Beware of this place if you have wood furniture! There is poor airflow that caused ALL of my furniture to grow mold. We’ve tried cleaning and everything is still ruined. I’m out hundreds of dollars just from the furniture loss. To top things off, the insurance company they require you to use specifically does not cover mold damage.

The facility was perfectly clean and spacious. Unloading and loading were made easy with large flatbed rolling carts provided free of charge. There were bathrooms on every floor and they were immaculately cleaned. Just exceptional all around.

This facility is a 5 Star. The staff who work at the Parmer location are very friendly, accommodating and professional. I was given clear policy information after my showing of a unit. I went back the next day to take care of paperwork and possession of my unit. Unfortunately, I locked my keys in my vehicle, with my puppy in it. The two office employees did not hesitate to help. Jonathan did get my keys out for me and then went in and continued with my unit business. Thank you guys!

My experience began with Jonathan, the Store Manager. in the North Austin, TX location. From the initial point of contact until I ended my contract, the service that Jonathan gave was top-of-the-line. In descriptive terms...genuine, professional, attentive, very service minded and great listener. There were a couple of times that I called and received great service from other staff members. To me it's a sign of an all-around professional team with great leadership. The facilities were also very clean, temp controlled, conveniently located and I felt very safe as there are monitoring cameras throughout....and all for a very reasonable rate that surprised me given all the benefits. Although I ended my contract because I no longer needed it, I will definitely revert back to the CubeSmart storage team. It was a great experience!

Discount was very helpful during the COVID crisis, new facility is super clean and feels safe. Wonderful staff! Edit: their prices with inflation were ridiculous. After a year they increased it so much that I would have been paying to store depreciating assets at a cost of Austin 1 bedroom apartment living 10 years ago. Sounds like a long time ago, sure. But it’s storage. It’s not a facility we reside in. Maybe I’ll buy a house and offer “rooms” for rent of storage at half the price of this instead. This is just silly.

Update 11/10/20: I cleared my unit and closed out my account on 11/03/20 which was billed and payed for a couple of days before. I assumed that bc I payed for a full month and used 2 days of that months payment that I’d be given a prorated refund. Nope! “We don’t do that.” Is what I was told by the manager on staff. Poor form again Cube Smart. Not only did you raise my rates in one of the toughest financial times I and this country have been through. But you also effed me on my prorated refund. Way to business! DEFINITELY LOOK ELSEWHERE IF YOU'RE THINKING ABOUT RENTING A STORAGE UNIT. THERE ARE A TON OF LOCAL OPTIONS WHO DONT JUST CARE ABOUT THE BOTTOM LINE. ——— Edit: 07/13/2020 CubeSmart (this specific location) decided it was a good idea to increase rates mid pandemic + financial crisis. I can only assume that decision came after a lengthy internal discussion about why business ethics are important in developing loyalty from customers. After which they laughed and upped rates. When I called to discuss it I was brushed off and told that it was "out of their hands". Way to be one of those companies that shows your customers and the rest of the world that CubeSmart really only cares about their bottom line, not their customers. Way to make 2020 better! A single star was given for the following: Great facility. It's brand new and has everything I need to keep my stuff safe and dry. I was even able to get insurance for the unit through CubeSmart without any hassle.

I was extremely impressed by the level of customer service at CubeSmart. From the ease of use at the website to the follow up email to the phone call that answered all my concerns and questions. What impressed me most was the consummate service. Mary was opening the lobby door as soon as I got out of my car. Both she and Jonathan greeted me like I was a friend. Mary was great at explaining everything and showed no signs of impatience or condescension, taking all the time I needed. Mary escorted me to the unit and greeted my son and helper with the same kindness she did me. The entire experience was made easier and better than I expected and the service was extraordinary. I am usually very stressed by events that take me out of my routine. Thank you!!!!!
