So my son had he's Arcade machines and they got wet and totally ruined at least one. We moved everything except a few card board boxes and they want to charge him a whole month of rent if not removed. My Son Just Had brain surgery and it's hard to get around.. Who does that!

Excellent customer service and flexibility with the units. I am not going to lie, but the interior of climate-controlled units the stale and moldy smell was pretty harsh over the summer. You may want to invest a bit more in some additional features.

I have been with CubeSmart for almost a year. I frequently go into my unit to check on things. I do pay for the climate controlled unit and like someone else stated, I am constantly sweating in the halls of the units. It’s always hot not climate controlled very well at all. The last time I went into my unit I now have MOLD all over my furniture. Couches. Mattresses. Wooden furniture. I even have mold INSIDE boxes that were sealed. I have been trying to get a hold of someone for weeks via calls or emails and still have not received any responses. I’m super glad that my year is almost over and won’t ever be using this storage facility again.

I thought this place may not be for me initially, especially considering that the MAIN GATES CLOSE AT TEN but it sure is a good thing I’m a sentient adult and can read. So that was never an issue for me, also it’s very clean and accommodating. I had some slight trouble with finding my unit, but again, I used my brain to figure out that the big buildings with doors on them can be opened to find even more numbered units! Wow! Doors sure do work! My only complaint is how thick skulled some of the other tenants seem to be. Oh well! Hopefully they’ll learn to stop complaining over problems they made for themselves!

Climate control is not climate controlled. Water leaked into my unit and I’m sure plenty of others as well and it was so hot and humid that mold grew on everything I own. Worst storage unit I’ve ever used. Take your money elsewhere.

Don't see the point of not having 24 hours access to your storage unit. If you pay rent and have your own code seems pointless to not allow the tenant access. Very frustrating when you're driving 15 hours and need access at 11 pm.

I'm a long time customer of ~five years. I have never been late on payments except due to incompetence described below. 10/5 my husband and I went into office to update CC info. ( Current card was about to expire and I was trying to avoid late payment.) Several days later I get call that I am delinquent What!? I gave updated CC to guy in office to process info for upcoming payments. Jon stated there would be nominal fee and that it would be reimbursed. He said system needed this charge to update my info. We left believing my info was updated as Jon told us. Unfortunately this was not the case. Instead of running my CC for storage payment, he "compromised" my CC info. Yes I have proof and yes I contacted authorities. My CC statement showed multiple charges I did not make, some in cities I have never been to. To add insult to injury, Jon assigned me to multiple units ( I only have one), proceeded to call me to remind me of late payment, and blame me for being unable to access my unit. System locks code out after non-payment. Many calls to corporate CubeSmart later and a chat with Bob ( 11-2-21) to finally get all these problems resolved. Becca the site manager was the only bright spot of this ordeal. She was very kind, helpful and spent alot of time outside regular hours fixing Jon's mistakes. 1 star for Becca, 1 star for corporate people who also tried to help. My husband and I finally cleared our unit and ended this horrible experience. You can imagine our surprise to learn Jon is still employed there. I wonder how many other people's info he " compromised?"

I was moving and initially wasn’t going to need a storage unit so I grabbed one last minute. I had no issues aside from having to pay so much. Afterwards I ended up realizing there were way more affordable units. Also, they tried to charge me about 2 months after I moved out of my unit. But eventually after I called they stopped.

I really enjoy the flexibility of CubeSmart. I've rented several storage units over the years and CubeSmart, by a long way, has the easiest rental and cancelation policies I've seen. I've rented several where you must provide 30 days notice or have it in writing, etc. Life isn't always like that, which is why I will only ever rent with CubeSmart.

Renting one of these units has been honestly one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. First I rented it and every time I tried signing the lease it had an error. When I finally got through we got to our unit to unload and it was unlocked and already full. I contacted the emergency line but no one ever got back to me. Then when we tried to leave, our access code was denied. Again I called the line and after being on hold we were finally given a code to get out and go home. We were also never told that there’s were certain hours on the gate by any of the four people I spoke to. Then I tried to make an account on the app and they said to use the temporary password, there was no password given. So I called the line again. Lastly I get here the next day to a new unit and they didn’t put a lock in it. I will never be using the business again.

Very easy process from beginning the rental to ending it. We emptied out the storage unit on a Saturday fternoon. We planned to go back and sweep it out the next day and end the contract. They called us before we could do that to let us know the lock was missing. I explained to them that we intended to sweep the unit and end the contract. They told us that was not necessary, that they would do that for us and close everything out.

I had a bad experience with Cubesmart. I took the storage unit on Saturday, and on Tuesday I called to tell them that I am not happy with the unit as it had mould and roaches. I asked for a refund since I hardly used the space for four days! I was told to choose a different unit of the same size but because my friend had the same experience with roaches in his unit, I asked for refund. Sadly I was denied the refund and my concern was not looked after by the management properly. Their response was because I “used” the storage space, they cannot refund me my money. How will I come to know about the roaches unless I actually use the storage unit? This was a strange policy. There were roaches crawling into my bags and belongings. Management was quite rude when I tried to explain my situation and I will not recommend this storage space to anyone.

So this is strange- I reviewed this place under my work email already. Yes I am a customer here, have been for a while so they had it removed somehow despite it being a legitimate review. My biggest issue, besides them costing me extra money and all the stuff is why was my legitimate google review deleted. It was within guidelines, but it was negative so I guess they had to tell google somehow it broke guidelines when it did not. I want my google review back up and it is the right of the consumer to post google reviews as long as they are fair and honest from an actual customer. See picture 1 that includes the owner's original response but is now not in the 124 reviews listed- where did it go? So long story short, I had a reservation here but when I showed up they did not see my reservation, despite me having it in my email which I still do. Secondly, they told me I needed to pay for a special lock that was over 12 bucks that I could have bought at wal-mart for 4 bucks. Thirdly, during the move in I needed to leave to grab a ladder for my movers but when I went the gate would not let me out even though it said "Exit Granted" and I had put in the right code. I made videos. There was also a man waiting outside with the same issue. The gate was in-operable. I called the emergency number to be put on hold. Then I was answered and had to go through a very stupid process of verification. Once that was done the guy said he would call someone local to get the gate opened. All told it was a delay of almost an hour which my movers cost 99.00 bucks an hour. Cubesmart doesn't care, not their money. What if it were a real emergency and someone had died? So I posted a review, told the exact truth, I don't need to lie. Owners or management responded saying that people from help@cubesmart were waiting to hear from me and wanted to reach out to me. I can pull it all up from my work gmail account even though publicly is has been deleted. So I messaged them, twice, and never heard a word back so that original response seems more like a PR move than anything legit. So I added that I had emailed the people at help@cubesmart and not a single person responded. - see Picture 2 Now they have flooded, took out two flat screens, a surround sound system, two very large artisan rugs, and multiple boxes of winter clothes and my wife's work outfits. We have 2k insurance from them which is not nearly the amount we lost but what ever. We will see how that goes.

I made a reservation online for a storage unit. A woman called me to confirm my reservation and to ask what time I would be coming in to finish renting my unit. I told her around between 1:00 pm and 1:30pm when I take my lunch break for work. I got there a few minutes after 1. Office was locked and no one was there. I waited for almost an hour and no one ever showed up. Sat there my whole lunch break. Why ask me when I will be there if you aren't going to make the effort to show up? Unprofessional. Went in first thing on a Saturday morning to rent an additional space. Pat, the new Manager, met us with a smile and sincere offer to help us. She then searched and to everyone's surprise found that the unit next to our existing unit was available. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE .... went in a couple of weeks ago and set up my storage rental. Walked out feeling good under the circumstances of cleaning out my condo after the hurricane. Had movers set, keeping and throwing out seperated. Movers arrived and were packing up. My phone rang and it was Cubesmart wanting my password because it hadn't been entered. I have movers/truck and don't know if I would be able to get in. I called multiple times trying to catch them because I needed more storage. I finally got a hold of someone. It was a number that the location phone transferred to. The gentleman I spoke to said they don't do transfers. You don't want to rent a larger unit?? The movers held my stuff in their truck until Monday, so I could set up elsewhere. Don't use them....the girl did refund my money. I also had an extra night at a hotel. NEVER AGAIN

They do seem to rent open space for vehicles and it's sometimes a hassle when you are trying to move a large U Haul truck around the property. There was a large rain storm a few months ago and several unit had flooding, so just be aware of that. Overall it's a great place to keep your stuff.

Great customer service. Friendly staff as well as helpful....BUT... Update: I stayed with CubeSmart for over a year during deployment. For the first couple of months the acclaimed "climate control" was pretty decent. When I came back home, I immediately noticed how much I was sweating just standing in front of my storage unit. (This is a person who spent a year in Africa) I don't know why but for who knows how long, they turned or shut that A/C off. After mentioning this to management, the next day or so I notice the tremendous difference. Upon checkout, and inspecting all my stuff as I was moving, alot of my electronics were damaged due to humidity even after trying to seal them up and then sealing the boxes they were in up as well. This place CAN be great BUT you need to be on management here and make sure if you pay for climate control, you GET IT! I stayed with The Storage Place for over a year and never had this problem. I wouldn't even break a sweat while making visits to that place because of how well ventilated and cool they had it at all times vs CubeSmart. All the electronics I moved to this storage were destroyed as I mentioned. Personally I wouldn't risk your hard earned belongings in a place that seems more about saving money on electricity vs the client.

They had the best price by far for controlled climate storage. I looked everywhere in corpus and they're price for climate controlled storage was comparable to other company's prices for non climate controlled storage spaces for the same size.
